After the death of king David, Solomon was crowned king. He was very young and felt inadequate and ill-equipped.

At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night, and God said, “Ask what I shall give you?"

Solomon’s realization of his own inadequacy caused him to cry out to God for the wisdom. The Bible says that God was pleased that Solomon had asked for wisdom and not riches or anything else.

If you are faced with a task that is too enormous and you feel inadequate, ask Jesus for wisdom. The Bible says in James 1:5, If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously, without finding fault. He will then give you the wisdom to complete the task with excellence and great finesse.

Start small, set a daily alarm on your phone, download the bible app, and read some plans in there, as well as reading the bible itself on there. Start in the new testament and just go. Some days will be cool, some days you won't feel anything, but it matters. It will change you, your character, your life, your thoughts, everything. Next thing you know you are buying a journaling bible and drawing, tabbing, highlighting, lettering, journaling. Every morning, spend time with God, pray, involve Him, talk to Him.

THE WORD FOR 25/4

The Bible says that Solomon was the wisest man in all the earth. How can such a wise man turn away from His God. 

Deuteronomy 17: 18-20 says that a king who sits on the throne has to write down God's law, and read it all the days of his life, that he may fear the Lord and not turn away from God's commandments. Apparently Solomon failed to follow this commandment. In the same chapter God instructs kings not to have many wives lest they turn their hearts away from God. Solomon obviously did not pay attention to this commandment either. As a result he became a slave to every kind of vice under the Sun. If the wisest man on earth could be lured to the path of sin,  so can we. We must be vigilant to guard our hearts and minds. We must be steadfast to abide in Jesus, lest we fall away. Jesus said apart from Me you can do nothing. Let us diligently study God's word, obey it  and cling to Jesus and live lives that is pleasing in His sight.
