The Last Moments Of Rachel Scott's on April 20 1999. (part 1)
7:00 A.M
Rachel was getting ready for school on a typical sunny Colorado morning, she and her brother were rushing to get to class. On their arrival at school they began to argue (due for being late) as Rachel listened to music from the car radio, Craig would start to switch the station to bother Rachel.
Tumblr media
Saying mean things to each other, Craig slammed the door in Rachel's face. it was the last time he would ever have spoken to her.
7:15 A.M
Rachel has her last drama class with her teacher Sue Caruthers.
In this class she draws the thirteen tears and the rose.

Clarifications Of Some Items
In this cctv image, there are 2 people who look very similar to Rachel and Richard. pstd: i thought it was them but it's not.
Richard stated that he had gone straight to the west entrance. He did not pass near the cafeteria. It seems that he waited for Rachel to arrive.
Tumblr media
Rachel's hair was a short chin length bob at the time. Her hair color was red due to her participation on “smoke in the room”.
Rachel worn a silver wedding band. (From her grandmother. Rachel asked her mother to give her).
wearing a black jacket over the white shirt. light blue jeans. white sneakers.
Tumblr media
A collage that shows at a minimum how close to rachel's appearance.
Tumblr media
This receipt in name of rachel. where she allegedly bought milk. but i found an image of the crime scene where Rachel and Richard's meals are thrown away and already spoiled. i don't see anything related to milk at any point.
this is a controversial item, as it doesn't seem to fit the timeline, some say it was fabricated to establish rachel scott's presence, which alters the timeline. there is also a possibility that she never went to the cafeteria and that another student bought the small milk. the transaction was made with her student account, not with money. that meant that someone she trusted asked rachel to use her student account to buy a milk. but then how does that explain rachel never going to the cafeteria if she was eating with castaldo? that means that someone she trusted asked rachel to use her student account to buy a milk. but then how does that explain why rachel never went to the cafeteria if she was eating with castaldo? where did that food come from? why wouldn't she have time to get to the west entrance? how did columbine control the nutritional program expenses at that time? why was the cash register 10 minutes ahead of time?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't see any small milk, if the milk were there, the container would probably be punctured by a bullet and leaking milk.
﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
End.

Since announcing our 2024 reopening, we wanted to take you behind the scenes of some of our preparation process. Including our 2024 announcement poster designs.
In July of this year, Autumn Cazier and Jaden Ware sat down to brainstorm some ideas that would best represent a symbolic interpretation of our show. With such a controversial topic, it is always a priority that the art for the show remain as tasteful and respectful as possible, and with that in mind, the two drafted some sketches based on differing perspectives.
Hence, an equally healing and eerie poster was created;
The Columbine flower, the state flower of Colorado, incorporating the school colors (blue and silver), and allowing the flower to be upfront and present, is representative of the Columbine community as a unit. Taking a stand and uniting after such a devastating tragedy.
Whereas the background is haunting and uninviting, a copy of the hallway is featured in one of Dylan and Eric's video projects, "Hitmen for Hire." And a cigarette, as they are used often in our show, tainted, and burning the Columbine. Wilting, as a town, is shattered. Representative of the infamy that will forever remain of Littleton.
We tried two differing color palettes, one reflective of the schools gray and grainy interior when viewing 90's footage, and another one in our own colors red, black, and white. Which one is your favorite? Feel free to let us know.

2024 Weeks 1-8 Reading List
My book picks for the next few weeks!
Tumblr media
The Constant Gardener - John Le Carre: "The novel opens in northern Kenya with the gruesome murder of Tessa Quayle -- young, beautiful, and dearly beloved to husband Justin. When Justin sets out on a personal odyssey to uncover the mystery of her death, what he finds could make him not only a suspect among his own colleagues, but a target for Tessa's killers as well."
The Bloody Chamber - Angela Carter: "Subversively dark and sensual versions of familiar fairy tales and legends like “Little Red Riding Hood,” “Bluebeard,” “Puss in Boots,” and “Beauty and the Beast,” steeped in the romantic trappings of the gothic tradition."
A Mother's Reckoning - Sue Klebold (not pictured): "On April 20, 1999, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold walked into Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. For the last sixteen years, Sue Klebold, Dylan’s mother, has lived with the indescribable grief and shame of that day. She chronicles with unflinching honesty her journey as a mother trying to come to terms with the incomprehensible. "
Heart of Darkness - Joseph Conrad: "The story is narrated by Charles Marlow, recalling his obsessive quest to locate the ivory trader Kurtz, who has become ensconced deep in the jungle managing a remote outpost. As he ventures further and further down the Congo, Marlow finds himself and his surroundings become increasingly untethered."
The Pale Blue Eye - Louis Bayard: "At West Point Academy in 1830, the calm of an October evening is shattered by the discovery of a young cadet's body swinging from a rope. The next morning, an even greater horror comes to light. Someone has removed the dead man's heart. An ingenious tale of murder and revenge at West Point, featuring a retired detective and a young cadet named Edgar Allan Poe"
Between Two Fires - Christopher Buehlman: "The year is 1348. Thomas, a disgraced knight, has found a young girl alone in a dead Norman village. An orphan of the Black Death, and an almost unnerving picture of innocence, she tells Thomas that plague is only part of a larger cataclysm—that the fallen angels under Lucifer are rising in a second war on heaven, and that the world of men has fallen behind the lines of conflict."

On Monday. February 13 2023, two school shootings happened. There were probably more, but I didn’t look it up. Let me tell you how these are connected.
In Lansing, Michigan, the city I was born in, at MSU, the alma mater of my father, and the current university of my cousin’s 2 children. A young woman, Elise, a junior, who actually looks like me, was on the other side of campus when the guy went into that classroom. She is ‘ok’ safe, scared, in shock, traumatized, perhaps permanently.
Her younger brother, Jack, a freshman was in the building. Not the classroom, but in Berkeley Hall. He is ‘ok’ safe, scared, in shock, traumatized, perhaps permanently. Imagine the horror and the fear.
Now, the second shooting:
Denver, Colorado, the city I was raised in, at Denver East High School, my alma mater, and the current high school of my sisters son. A young man, Jude, a freshman, who is a varsity soccer player, was in his classroom when his teammate and friend was shot in their school parking lot. He is ‘ok’ safe, scared, in shock, traumatized, perhaps permanently.
That’s 3 kids in my family. On the same day. Do you hear me? THE SAME FUCKING DAY!! The same day. Don’t tell me to be rational. Don’t tell me I’m in your fucking prayers. Go donate money to the families. The boy that WAS SHOT IN THE FUCKING HEAD IN FRONT OF HIS HIGH SCHOOL ISN’T DEAD!!!! It’s not looking good, but his family could use some cash.
And none of mine were ‘hurt’. I’m not attending funerals. My sister, my cousin, their kids? How do they get through this? How do they parent this? How do they get their kids to go back to school? And be successful? And healthy? And and and. How do you comfort them when the nightmares come?
And thank fucking god there was a metal detector inside the high school where it did not one iota of good.
It’s a complex problem. Gun control, social services, media (mainstream and social), police, lack of culture, systemic racism, dysfunction in all levels of government, a nation divided in half by hate; violent all consuming blind hate; color coded hate -black and white, red and blue, corporate greed, and more….but no one is sitting down at the table to even try to peel the onion. Think tanks put ROVERS ON MARS but can’t keep 3rd graders safe in Uvalde or Sandy Hook or the younger siblings of my college friends at Columbine! And let me tell you how many fucks I give about rovers on Mars. (Lots of tax dollars on Mars, kids. $25.4 BILLION dollars to NASA IN 2023) let’s take one years nasa budget and fund a mass shooting solution think tank and see if they can do something with it.
FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK
I’m angry. And a woman today in my office told me it’s gods plan. It’s in the Bible, the end of days. I told her to shove her Bible up her ass. And when it’s her family I will remind her of her god and his plan. AND!!!!!
Her/ their ignorance is not as valuable as my/our intelligence. But (social) media has given them a platform to be loud. From the red neck swamp rat to the hallowed halls of the highest government offices
Thoughts and prayers are not enough. Stop voting for pussies. Stop following bullies and bigots. Stop teaching your children that gun violence is acceptable. What happened to having a fist fight at the bike rack after school? Stop allowing your kids to disrespect others. Stop disrespecting others. Don’t heckle the President of the UNITED States on national television. It’s tacky. It teaches others that this behavior is ok. It’s not. Do you hear me? It. Is. Not. Send cash to the victims. Spread love and tolerance and logic and thoughtful legislation and rational gun control and severe punishment for the guys shooting up our families. And don’t plea bargain weapons charges down.
The bullies in my high school in the 80’s were plenty mean. The terrible, troubled kids. But they didn’t have AR15’s. But now….
Fuck

today i woke up and opened instagram, like i usually do, and the first post on my feed was from the Anti-Racism Daily (@/ardtakeaction) account posting about a nightclub shooting at a queer club. in my own city. it was a shocking way to learn about the news because for one, i never think of my city as being that noteworthy to end up on national outlets, and two it was a huge gut punch of a reminder that my little bubble is very far removed from the daily realities of life in my city.
i may have a skewed perception since i've lived in colorado most of my life, but it seems that we've had more than our fair share of mass shootings. first columbine, then the movie theatre shooting in aurora, and now this one. last night's shooting hits closest to home in more ways than one. literally, since it's a short drive from where i live. and also because it was a very targeted attack against the queer community.
i have never been to the club where the attack happened, but that doesn't matter. it was a safe space for queer people, one of few, in a city that is full of conservative evangelical spaces. at one point, this city held the headquarters of over 500 religious organizations. i don't know if that's true anymore, but that is a staggering number. it's also something that, living here day-to-day, is easy to forget. it's normal to see churches on every corner and get asked at a fast food drive-thru if you have a relationship with jesus (yeah, that happened to me once). for someone who's not religious, it's a bit of a trip sometimes.
i have to admit, i forget what colorado springs looks like to outsiders. and i get frustrated that the media's portrayal of this city is a one-note story of conservative evangelicalism and extremism. even the post where i found out the news about the shooting. because yeah, while colorado turned blue when obama became president and elected the first openly gay governor, colorado springs has always been red. and i understand that is what everyone sees from the outside. but i want to give you another angle. because that's not all that this city is.
i decided after hearing the news this morning i needed to get out and not just sit around and stew in my feelings. i was upset, and i knew just sitting and scrolling wouldn't be good for me. i live downtown, which is a bit of a liberal/queer oasis in this city, and if you only know colorado springs from what you hear on the news, you would never think this was the same place.
almost all the shops downtown are locally owned and many of them, including my favorite coffee shop, have pride flags hanging in their windows all year long. (this photo is from earlier this year, but there are still flags everywhere.) i went there today, and spent about an hour reading, which is something i do often. i saw many visibly queer people come in and out, as usual. but today i was more aware of them. most people probably wouldn't guess i'm queer just by looking at me (especially here), but i do feel a kinship with queer people i see out in the wild, even if it's just one-sided.
Tumblr media
there is a queer club downtown as well (which i went to many moons ago before i knew i was queer myself), a burlesque club that hosts drag shows, a theatre that (before the pandemic) regularly hosted interactive showings of rocky horror, and a huge park that hosts the pride festival every summer. there is probably more, but i am very much an indoor girl so i don't know half of what goes on.
after i left the coffee shop i visited the tattered cover, one of my favorite bookstores, to pick up some books i had ordered. on my way in i almost ran into a very large, intimidating looking white man. he startled me (not hard to do), but then i saw his shirt. it was a pair of hands making a heart shape with a rainbow heart inside. i almost burst into tears right in the middle of the store 🥲 (i'm very emotional today, i can't help it). it felt more meaningful today than it would other days. i don't now if he was queer or not, but it didn't matter. the fact that he made the choice to wear that shirt today, in public, was a statement of support. a loud one.
after i picked up my books, i left right away to avoid any temptation of buying more 👀 (i have a problem)
Tumblr media
but i want to mention one of my favorite things about this tattered cover location: in their romance section, they have a special subsection for lgbtq+ romance 🥰 they know their audience and make it easy for us to find the books we want! the first time i saw it, it made me feel so welcome. it's such a small thing to do, but makes such a difference to customers like me.
on my way home, i always people-watch. i put in my earbuds so i don't have to talk to anyone. today i was listening to a queer romance, because i needed something happy. i've been on a bit of a horror kick lately, and while i love it, today was not really the day for that
Tumblr media
i crossed paths with a queer couple on the sidewalk. two women, holding hands and laughing, cuddling close together because it's cold today and neither of them had on a coat. i couldn't help but smile because they were so absorbed in each other. and of course, i almost started crying again (i really am a mess today, guys).
because even when the worst thing happens right in our own city, when we are targeted just for daring to be who we are, queer people still aren't afraid to be loud and proud.
i know a lot of the news you see today will focus on the hatred and the evangelicals and the maga crowd and the reason this tragedy happened in the first place. and that is important. because this didn't come out of nowhere. but i just wanted to offer a few little humanizing moments of my city to remind everyone that we are more than just that. this city is more than the hate-filled people that put us on the news, even if we are in the minority. we're still here.

Colorado White Columbine Aquilegia caerulea var. ochroleuca
This grouping immediately caught my attention, being from the east our Columbines inhabit a much less extreme habitat niche. Here I found many along a shaded cove canyon wall under an overhang on a dry-river bed, most growing through high cracks within the rock itself.
Because I'm less familiar with western species I actually did a fair bit of research as to why this flower was white if A. caeulea was commonly blue. Turns out this species exhibits a white color variation in Utah specifically to appeal to local pollinators in this range. There are many species of columbine in the west, some with little-to-no information about habitat and range, while I'm not 100% certain on the exact species, I'm just ID-ing off best inclination feel free to correct me.
As for habitat, Columbines are typically found from mid to relatively high elevations, in shadier zones, in a variety of soils that drain well, and in this case rock fractures. They typically grow around 18-20 inches tall, and have three lobbed leaves which are are deeply cleft and hydrophobic interraction with water. Keep an eye out, I always find them in rocky outcroppings
