#Inktober Day 17: “Conlaeth”

Art of @by-ogdens-hammer‘s OC Conlaeth (”Connie”). She’s originally a sci-fi character, and the blue in her eyes are totally supposed to be circuit lines you can’t see very well here... but y’know, that’s a thing. This was a lot of fun because I find myself drawing a very standard subset of features a lot, so it was interesting to crack out of it.

ALSO BECAUSE I LOVE CONNIE SO MUCH. I’m basically a small screaming fan on the side. It was an honor to be able to draw this. <3

I followed you back in the GW2 days and I can't easily imagine Connie in the events of End of Dragons, but for what it's worth they let more characters cuss now 😂

LOL thank god... the lack of profanity from anyone in the GW2 universe is obviously the least plausible aspect of it 😔 I still haven't actually played EoD but yeah I think I've always just kinda felt like Connie's story was naturally building up to "she can't do this anymore" and it wound to a really good close with Kralkatorrik's death and her finally being forced to pass the reins of The Commander's legacy off to Leo and Aurene. She doesn't "fit" the canon anymore except as maybe a supporting character. But at least "she faked her death, changed her name, and no one ever saw her again" is a more conclusive resolution than most of my abandoned OCs get gfdgsd

#it doesn't help that I've kinda..... drifted from most of the people whose OCs intersected with her canon #so I'd be faced with the dreaded 'do I write around them or just retcon them' question #ask #anon #Conlaeth #rom speaks
