Kendall + Connor’s mom: 1x02 | 1x04 | 3x08 | 4x02  (+ meta under the cut)

Something really interesting to see is that a lot of the references about Connor’s mother don’t come from Connor, but Kendall. We get tidbits of Con’s life here and there, alongside indirect references, but direct references to his mother? Save for him reminiscing with Logan in the RECNY episode and Roman’s comment about her “being sent to the booby hatch”, it’s usually Kendall who brings her to the forefront. It’s usually Kendall reminding people that hey, this was a person who existed, this was Connor’s mother. 

And it’s just so. Fitting, somehow, that it’s Kendall who brings her up the most. That it’s him who describes what Con’s mother wanted to do with the ball and calls her patronizing for it, only to turn around and call himself the People’s Fearless Leader. That it’s Kendall “Three years ago you were in the nuthouse” Roy who brings up to Logan that Logan locked Connor’s mother away. That it’s her story that’s mentioned first to Kendall, before Rose and before the waiter, as the first Roy family secret. That it’s Kendall, who has a mental illness and attempted suicide before, who brings up Connor’s mother, who we know had a breakdown and is implied to have died. That it’s Kendall, who wants to be seen and struggles with it so, so much, who remembers that Connor had a mom, that there was someone in this family, that there was a person who needs to be included in this remembrance video. 

For a woman we’ve never met, seen, even have a name for, there’s so many parallels there to Kendall and it’s just SO fascinating that we get a lot of these direct references through him.

Kendall mentioning Logan locking up Connor’s mom, and Logan accusing Gil of being responsible for his own wife’s death in season one...what if Connor’s mom, struggling with their increasing wealth and subsequently limited lifestyle, confided in her husband some suicidal thoughts? And Logan having the emotional maturity of a turnip decided not to talk it through with her but instead immediately had her committed? That’s why no matter what Ken or anyone says about it, Logan tells himself he’s the hero. By committing her, he kept her from following through on her thoughts. This might explain his contempt for Gil. That so easily could have been Logan, but unlike Gil he took action and saved his wife’s life. The kids just don’t understand that. 

This allows him to deny that doing so against her will just made things worse, especially if he didn’t bother to get her any help beforehand. No matter that this probably happened in the era of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest when many mental institutions were still so backwards and awful. And never mind that he probably used this to gain custody of Connor later on ( “she’s been in the nuthouse, Your Honor”). Ignore the fact he immediately neglected and left Connor behind when he married Caroline. 

No, he took action. Connor’s mother didn’t commit suicide (at least while married to Logan), so that’s that. Whatever happened to Rose, maybe he decided this was how to make up for it.  He’s the good guy, goddammit.

Not to once again be an Assassin’s Creed 3 blog, but I just learned that Haytham dies September 16, 1781 and Achilles also dies in September 1781. Based on when the final homestead mission becomes playable, you can assume that Connor kills Haytham in New York and then arrives to the homestead to find Achilles dead.

This poor boy is forced to kill his actual father and then comes home to tell his father-figure, the man who taught him to be an assassin, and finds him dead. Before he ever gets to tell him he ultimately succeeded in their goal. Before he’s even had a chance to rest since taking on this burden years ago. Before he’s even had a chance to mourn the mother he lost at 4.

The man deserves nothing but love and affection once his assassin days are done.

Don't mess with ghost parents if you want to continue alive Chapter 3 on Ao3

Ellie was sitting on one of the individual couches, her fingers couldn't stop fidgeting with each other. She doesn't know how many times she had seen the teenager sitting in front of her before she looked away in order to not overwhelm him.

But, she just couldn't help it. He was her son, her ghost baby. Well, half ghost baby and half alien, but he was hers. Being a ghost herself she knew what having a ghost baby represented. At least in descriptive theory. However, she didn't think her own experience would be so mind-blowingly overwhelming.

Her ghostly maternal instincts could not be appeased, let alone diverted from keeping her attention on her whelp.

Pandora had explained to her in detail what being a ghost mother; whether by ghost "natural" way or core bonding, meant. This after the ghost goddess would adopt both Danny and her and Jazz.

Just remembering how clingy, fierce and overprotective the warrior was with them the first few years she felt ashamed to complain back then. For now, she was in her adoptive mother's place and wanted to have some of the control the goddess had developed when they couldn't stay in the Ghost Zone as long due to college.

Ellie looked at the restless fingers on her hands and bit the inside of her cheek inconspicuously.

Although, in this case none of that options fit her current situation. Because she didn't do the bees and flowers thing with someone liminal, human or ghost, nor did she acquire the child through adoption; core link. In this case, someone got her genetic code and the one from a super hero alien, and did all the work for her.

... For some reason, that last sentence feels weird and wrong.

Best not to think about it.

Looking again at the boy who was receiving clarification from her older sister, the anxieties of hugging and cuddling him in a nest of sheets inside her haunt in the Ghost Zone resurfaced again when he looked back at her. The anxiety increases when the teenager immediately withdraws his eyes from her. But now with fear for be ignoring by her little boy.

She almost let out a disconsolate trill. However, she didn't. Danny was watching her leaning back against the wall and holding her new niece in his arms. She wasn't going to give him a reason to stretch that shit-eating grin on his face.

It’s well known who is the one that rules this town. From the many paths that is hidden well with the darkness and shadows. To the buildings that hold the residence that live here. Though, they are under the guard of the tamer of their kind. Within a estate building, two vampires were chained up in a pacific room decorated with silk, and cotton.

Both vampires were standing up looking quiet. Their arms chained up against the wall along with a unbreaking metal collar. They were blindfolded but it was proven of what they were. Sharp fangs seen glistering in the glow of the candles while they were just trying to remain calm. However, they knew ‘he’ was going to be coming soon.

They seen him only once but were punished due to the other trying to bite him. Dick and Jason remember what he was wearing though. It would be a black fancy top button shirt with the designs but maybe it’s due to his family? But behind doors, they seen what he hides behind it. Black leather shorts with knee high heel boots. A black leather jacket with a black dress suit but his eyes were just cold looking ready to punish them. Black gloves but a black choker too. He would either have others with him but he can take care of himself. Now they wonder if he was going to visit them again tonight.
