So I saw a screenshot of Ralph without his hat (for his wedding outfit + I think a DLC outfit didn't have it?) and honestly. There's a reason he wears it. It's unfair if he doesn't. Olive Town really is just "hot bisexuals in your area" and they would thrive if they advertised it as such.

I just back to studio from mom's house and did a help for taking a shower for a sickness mom, she wasn't talking sad & bad words to me on this night and also good talking with my sweet daughter about how she learn driving car; then I felt so happy to take mrt at late night, in fact no any passangers with, I almost to dance with cheerful heart on that moments . (that's why I always to play selfie on mrt late night. very exciting and fun XD) hahaha!

not to be "guy who did her undergrad thesis about online confessional sites" but so often those come out of needing a social release/emotional safety valve. like gossip is part of that slash dming a friend and going "hey can i be mean for a second" like you can try and be charitable when you're venting + gossiping but beyond gossip being a social networking process, it's also just important to be able to release a valve on feelings you've got in you, so that then if you do need to face someone, you're not going having let those thoughts fester.

also like. better to go over that with someone you trust, as opposed to anonymously (or not!) putting those feelings out there sans context where they can start more bullshit

idk!! as someone who frequently calls her best friend like "hey i need to whine for a minute" (and does the same in turn, because a) i car about her and b) it's important to cultivate the spaces you complain in so that it's both give and take (so that it doesn't collapse)) i genuinely can't stress how important it is to just have a private space to quickly complain or gossip

I love learning ASL it’s so good. Makes me happy to learn it. I’m so glad my university has classes for it with professors actually steeped in Deaf culture.

#blue chatter #am I good at ASL? hahahahahahaha. no. #ASL and English grammar are incredibly different and even when I remember my vocab I am easily clockable as hearing #but I do have some language capacity now. enough to communicate the basics. #and I just. genuinely really enjoy it. it’s fun to learn and engaging in a way most of my classes just aren’t. #and I can. yanno. communicate respectfully w Deaf ppl. and learn about their culture #which is incredibly important given that I want to go into a field where there is a higher incidence than typical of Deaf people #autistic? you’re more likely to be Deaf! #not to mention the fact that sign language can sometimes be a useful alternative to speech for nonspeaking/nonverbal people #depending on the person obvi; some nonspeaking/nonverbal autistics cannot use sign language and that’s okay #but surely at some point I will encounter either a Deaf client or a nonspeaking/nonverbal client who uses ASL #and when that time comes I should have some idea of how to communicate with them #I also rly like the Deaf church by my parents’ house #their community is really welcoming and their services are really interesting #I think it’s rly cool how they take intentions directly from the congregation #they’ll raise their hands and then sign what their intention is from their pew to the ambo #which is rly neat #it is funny bc every time I go the Deaf ppl I talk to will tell each other ‘go slow she’s hearing’ #which is ENTIRELY fair bc. Also its my first time dming and I wanted to Make Sure that I do good (make sure my players and I have fun) so I asked them 2 questions: why are you [doing the initiating thing for the oneshot] and whats the thing on your character sheet that you're most excited for.

One is to ease into it easier, and the other is to make sure I give them opportunities to do The Cool Thing in the brief time we have these characters + Gives me things to plan and ways to give hints

Well, anyway. Many ways to go about this.

How do you conceptualize gossip? If you had to embody gossip as something from nature or your culture, how would you embody it?

Our goal here is straightforward: we want to find a strong association between what we seek to control, and what we are able to physically manipulate and work with. By using magical words and actions we can embody gossip into something we can then control (using further magical words and actions).

Your magical practice may be able to bridge the gap for you - if you work with the four Western elements, you may associate talking, communication, and gossip, with Air.

Air makes sense to me. The air from our lungs. The gusty breeze of gossip. And so on.

If you don't particularly feel like investigating your own reflections on the matter, I think Air works just fine as an embodiment.

(But perhaps on further reflection you would say that based on where you stand in the Universe and the curve of your personal mirrors, your true reflections upon the matter are that gossip is best embodied by twisting, rotting roots - or some pop culture character, etc. Also I completely forgot about sigils, which is how you directly capture something when you don't want to use other associations. Well, anyway. Find that gossip a suitable body! That's the goal.)

So whatever body you choose, you've got to get the gossip into it. This isn't a very difficult operation. Perhaps you've got your own method. Try this one if you like:

Observe (look at, feel, be aware of) the body you will put the gossip into. Yes, even if this is the air floating in front of you! (If you're having trouble with conceptualizing the air thing, try lighting a candle and imagining that the air above the candle flame is more dense and magical, and that's the "body" you're working on).

Observe and be aware of it, and then simply say, sign, or think: "You are the gossip of [x, y, z, etc]."

Perhaps that isn't enough. Does it feel like nothing happened? If so, try More. Hover your hand over it. Speak at length. Get worked up if you would like; or stay calm if you would like. Describe the gossip. Describe what it has done to you. Describe how horrible and awful such-and-such people are.

And at every turn, put it in the magical effigy you have chosen. "...and all these horrible things are in the air before me. They are trapped in the air. I put them there."

Yes, speak with authority.

Go on with this until either you're over it, feel something has happened, or are getting worn out, and then. There you have it, embodied gossip.

You've got the gossip in front of you now, isn't that creepy? Before it was abstract and conceptual: a collection of words, behaviors, actions, and reactions that shared a common theme but flowed through time and space as their own discrete events.

Now you've scooped them all up and stuffed them into a body.

A body that's under your control!

A spooky moment, in my opinion. All the better if you feel like a mad scientist.

What to do with the body, now there's a question. If you're working with air, why not tie it up in a knot? Wind and knot magic are closely intertwined and using knots to control the wind is still a practice some people employ.

You can work over the thread, too, but you may not find it to be necessary. ("this thread is an agent of binding, it will capture the winds of gossip," etc etc).

Then, throw it away. Or do whatever you like with it.

If your body is air, why not sweep it out the front door? Brooms can stir up quite a little breeze. And don't forget to inform the gossip what is happening to it. ("Like dust in the wind I scatter you away." etc)

Suppose you've used water. And now a jar of water is the body of the gossip. Put a lot of bleach in there to sterilize it, why not?

Maybe the body is a stick. Break the stick.

I don't do much sigil magic, but perhaps you could pin the sigil to something with an iron nail.

And so on.

It is I think relevant to note that in every operation, banishing and conjuring may both be employed to good use - banishing, breaking, or destroying gossip leaves a bit of a vacuum around you, yes? Why not fill up that space with a protection worked against wicked tongues? Hermes or Mercury may serve you well in that matter.

Hi! I was looking at your pinned post and Brisala caught my eye because of "fungal necromancy" - so my question is, what is that, it sounds so cool! I'd love to hear more about that!

Oh, Brisala is pretty neato, thank you for the ask!

So Fungal Necromancy, what is that? First I have to explain that my idea of necromancy is basically manipulation of life energy, yeah? So not really dissimilar to regular healing magic. But necromancy has the benefit of kind of encompassing anything with life energy. And that includes plants and fungi!

As a Telvanni Wizard, Brisala is a proud citizen of Morrowind and all the natural wonders it encompasses. A majority of it is covered in gigantic mushrooms and assorted fungi, to say the least of the Telvanni Tower grew by herself. If you're not including the potentially magical landscape by virtue of the place, all the fungal mycelium alone has a huge storage of energy! Fungi in general have huge networks that spread over whole continents sometimes and they interact and transfer energy from dead matter into other living organisms it lives with. Using this as a foundation, if one were to tap into it they could draw life energy from the very land into yourself. You would need to have an immense storage of magicka in your body then, so long as you knew how to harness and use the very land to fuel yourself.

This is the magical theory Brisala has worked on since childhood. House Telvanni already pride themselves on a lot of mushroom motifs and practical uses in their every day life. Surely it has to extend to more than just a home, armor, food, and pretty decoration. Imagine what one could accomplish if you could drain a continent the size of Morrowind by tapping into a vein of mycelium? Not that Brisala would do that, it is simply too big of an idea to test for a single Master Telvanni.

But a single Telvanni Tower? Now we're talking. Brisala grows unique and strange fungi in her studies to research different properties and uses in alchemy and magicka. If magic can be tapped from them, what else could be gleaned from them? Testing has shown that mycelium networks can communicate with each other and organisms they are attached to. Brisala has successfully added herself into that equation after years of experimentation and can now use fungi as extensions of herself.

So imagine you are trying to infiltrate or sneak into a Telvanni Tower. You're as quiet as you can be, but everywhere you go you can't help but feel as if you're being watched. And if you so happen to be in the Alithar family Tower, you most certainly are being watched by Brisala and are about 0.02 seconds from being consumed by the fungal floor.

Brisala has such an aptitude for fungal manipulation, she can freely change the interior of her Tower to move stairs, walls, and even whole rooms. Whatever extra magicka she has building up in her body she could deposit it into her Tower as a backup resource. Within the confines of her own home, Brisala is a terrifying being to behold in the seat of her power.

There is always more to learn from our fungal neighbors. Brisala is dedicated in exploring every possibility fungi have in everyday and extraordinary situations. As far as she knows there are very few actual fungomancers, much less those that dabble in necromancy.

And she intends to keep it that way, her research is precious and secret. Wouldn't want some upstart Spellwright getting any funny ideas to try and rise up the ranks through her notes.
