YEAH!!!!

Kate loves languages. Learning them, hearing them spoken (not just when she can understand them), finding similarities between languages, and figuring out things about them that aren’t super apparent at first

She grew up with french, so she tends towards romance languages (Spanish, Italian etc.) when she’s picking something new to learn at first, but pretty soon she’s learning any language that she can find resources for, regardless of the language family they belong to

She and Chess make up lots of languages and codes and they talk almost exclusively in them for years because they liked being able to talk without anyone else understanding (not to be rude to others/talk behind peoples backs, just to have something that’s theirs)

She’s definitely that annoying kid that actually likes learning/memorising verbs, and she’ll make up songs/cheers to remember them (or she’ll just learn existing ones)

She has ridiculously long streaks on every language learning app she uses, and she’s consistently near the top of the leaderboards

Though she is one of the rare(ish) few who can easily identify what language they’re thinking in, she’ll switch the second she hears a different language that she also speaks

On the same vein, she keeps pronunciation rules from whatever language she’s thinking in, no matter what she’s speaking (most of the time she can catch it, but sometimes w’s sound like v’s, and what do you MEAN dz doesn’t make a sound close to j?)

Bonus headcanon from my sister: Kate does the *cusses* someone else: LANGUAGE! Kate: english/polish/french/etc thing (Mattie picks it up, and her parents almost force her to transfer schools to get away from the “bad influence” that Giles Cory definitely is)

1. very correct!! I mostly wear greys (grey hoodies my beloved) but when I’m not wearing grey/black/white yellows, greens and blues are definitely my go-to colours bc I like them <3

2. I like to think my notes are pretty ok!! I don’t really make them fancy, but they’re comprehensive and usually pretty neat! (also yes I spend far too much time doodling in the margins lol!!)

3. It really depends on the day!! A lot of the time the like. amount of limb I have makes me clumsier (curse being tall /hj) but I definitely have my moments lol!!
