Blood Drop Dress (red party dress)- silk taffeta

Black dress- silk-velvet bodice and overskirt, silk taffeta underskirt

Blue dress- see above

Winter coat- wool

Robe and nightgown- silk habotai/china silk with a silk moire sash (moire pattern only visible in one BTS pic I've found so far)

Deleted scene undergarments- cotton sateen corset (I hope, given the wear to it), matching silk taffeta petticoat

Edith:

Buffalo Bookworm Suit (suit for her publisher's office)- silk taffeta

Park outfit- pleated silk habotai shirtwaist, silk taffeta skirt, belt likely a celluloid faux buckle and wool braid strap in-story and resin faux buckle + synthetic braid strap IRL

Carter's Office outfit- see above, just a different shirtwaist and with a silk tie

Buffalo nightwear set- cotton nightgown under a silk-velvet robe

Ball gown- silk satin with some sort of tulle underskirt briefly visible near the beginning and end of her dance scene

Heartbreak Dress (dinner party dress)- pleated lightweight silk, possibly habotai? but heavier than the fabric of her shirtwaists

mourning dress- silk taffeta (the designer claims this is her wedding gown, but bereaved brides were HEAVILY pressured to leave off mourning on their wedding days, and I can't imagine the wedding and Carter's funeral would be on the same date anyway)

Allerdale coat- wool

Briefly-seen lingerie and net dressing gown- cotton or linen combinations which later appear in the sex scene, cotton sateen corset, dressing gown of what I imagine is crocheted silk cord + silk habotai

Nancy Drew Dress (canary-yellow dress)- silk satin

Allerdale nightwear set- silk satin robe with a pleated silk habotai nightgown underneath

Allerdale cape- wool

Pretty much all of his outfits are wool suits over silk brocade waistcoats and linen shirts. with the exception of his formal outfit for the ball and dinner party, which appears to have a cotton shirt, white vest of a material I can't quite make out, and silk bow tie

I have been reminiscing lately over 2015/2016 Tomblr. The fandom Golden Age.

So much new content - Crimson Peak, I Saw The Light, High-Rise, BTS of The Night Manager, Charlie Gray photoshoot, and on and on.

I have even gone back into my archives and reblogged old posts of the good ol' days.

Then today ... we get the announcement that we are getting more seasons of The Night Manager.

This is what happens when I wish for 2015/2016 again.

I need y'all to know that I braved the Crimson Peak tag on AO3, absolutely no filters, and the first results thrown my way were.... something.

We've got your Kingdom Hearts xover, BTS xover, some SPN with very unexpected and curious sibling configurations (Sam and Dean aren't the Sharpe siblings but it's still wincest???). Kudos to the writer for making Bobby fill in the role of Carter since both are played by Jim Beaver but......you'll never guess who Baronet Dean Winchester's counterpart is.

It's been quite the entertaining night.

Hirohiko Araki

Hirohiko Araki is an illustrator and creator of history known for works such as "Jojo's Bizzare Adventure", "The goregeous Irene" and "Baoh". It is well known that unlike other mangaka and illustrators of this type, Araki has a more anatomically correct and realistic style.

Hirohiko Araki, born in Sendai on June 7, 1960. He made his debut under the pseudonym Toshiyuki Araki (荒木 利之) in 1980 with his Busō Poker one-shot, and began his professional career with the short series Mashōnen B. T., Baoh: The Visitor, and Gorgeous Irene.

The JoJo's Bizarre Adventure franchise is one of the most iconic in the world of manga/anime. Master Araki's work has been used as inspiration for many subsequent works, especially in the shōnen. Many are the works and concepts that influenced Araki during his life to finally create his greatest franchise. Join me as we delve into the inspirations that brought JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure to life.

JoJo's drawing style changes over time, shifting from classic 80's action story characters to androgynous but much more elaborate and detailed drawings. This development is all the more remarkable when one also considers the details of the illustrations of earlier works such as Cool Shot BT and Poker Under Arms.

However, it wasn't until Bao: The Visitor that the style that would characterize the early JoJos caught on. In its early days in the 80's, the fashion for super strong and powerful men was at its peak, with films starring Stallone and Schwarzenegger or manga like Fist of the North Star.

In addition to the drawing itself, JoJo's also has a quite striking color selection. This is because Araki studied the color theory of Paul Gaugin, a post-impressionist artist he knew in his youth, and for whom he has shown great admiration.

At the beginning of 2009, the Louvre Museum organized an event called “Louvre invites comics”, where works by Nicolas de CrécyW, Éric Liberge, Marc-Antoine Mathieu, Bernard Yslaire and, of course, Hirohiko Araki were presented. The mangaka's fondness for the world of fashion is not unknown, since he was young he was interested in the fashion magazines included in the library of his house. Among his declared favorites are Dior, Versace and Moschino. who he said was fascinated by how he mixed beauty and humor.

Araki also takes inspiration from the musical world, having characters called "Killer queen", "Scary monsters", "King Crimson", "Aerosmith", "AC/DC", etc... This has caused several Copyright problems since in the anime had to change the names to others from the original concept.

That's why I really like Araki's work, since in addition to making very entertaining stories that I really enjoy, I'm also introduced to characters with names of bands or songs that I like and, in turn, they introduce me to bands/songs that I can hear.

4.What’s a movie you watched over and over again as a child that you still love?

Ok ANOTHER ONE that I became hyperfixated with in my youth was: A Fish Called Wanda. I love that fuckin movie. It’s so charming and silly and it’s got 4 big heavy hitters for me (I mean come on!!! John Cleese, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Kline AND Michael Palin -mini MP reunion got me good) AND Idk I just fuckin enjoy it!!! In fact I wrote my first fanfic for it and put it up on FUCKING QUIZZILLA so there u go. My eternal shame.

10.Most beautiful set?

Oh god this one is hard for me. Gut instinct says LOTR/The Hobbit again because my god have you seen the BTS for fucking Mirkwood and Lake Town??? That shit was insane I love PJ for making that physical when all marvel was doing in those days (and still is) is green screen. I also have a deep soft-spot for the crimson peak set bc GDT constructed that fucker so carefully (also I love the interview where he says that a well constructed and thought out set design/costumes shouldn’t be just considered as eye candy but eye protein- that even these things while beautiful get driven home better when they have extra meaning and thought put behind them and man it shows in all his work).

Also I have a great affection not just for the Hill House set but also for the hidden ghost thing that mike did for that. Like thats such a genius move and the construction of the place and the composition of the shots with that in mind??? *chefs kiss*

AAAAAAND ofc I’m not gonna get out of here without talking about the volume for the mandolorian. That thing is an insane feat of engineering and really flips the bird big time to the marvel division’s green screen hellscape and there’s so much potential for it I really hope disney doesn’t hoard that as a resource
