Fearne asking after the Wildmother because of Orym is such a quiet but meaningful moment that most of the party likely missed or didn’t quite understand. Fearne is the one who waited with Orym to see what happened to his sword. She knows that he’s received her blessing before. He may not outright worship the Wildmother, but there is a connection, and Fearne wanting to visit the Wildmother for him, to pray on his behalf or ask the Wildmother to watch him for her, is so beyond sweet.

if Liliana is the intended vessel for Predathos that makes her telling Imogen that they can be a family again after this, that they can go home after this so heartbreaking. she's telling her daughter lies in a last ditch effort to keep her away. the lies she thinks will work on Imogen. the lies that she knows are horseshit but that she lets herself half believe at night when her grief and her duty are tearing her heart to shreds.

because she has to know that being Predathos' vessel will kill her. the power will hollow her out, snuff out her soul like one might step on a bug, and leave her an empty husk. even now, being Exaltant, the power is too much for her body to contain. and Predathos's power has to be millions and billions of times more that hers.

it's just so compelling. she's a tragic character, tragic and flawed and wrong. her brand of family angst is right up my alley and i'm eating it up
