Rewatching Pass through Fire and I suddenly remembered that Marisha originally wanted Keyleth (in the campaign) to be only able to cast air-based spells before she completed the respective parts of her Aramente, but she and Matt realized it would nerf the character too much, so it became more of a preference thing than a strict ability thing in the stream (and also she had to see an elemental before being able to transform into it bc of basic wild shape rules). But now, Keyleth in tlovm not only gets to have that journey of discovering how to use the other elements for the first time that Marisha wanted, but also (and this is me interpreting here) is fully terrified of them because, in her mind, one of them killed her mother.

OH! Okay wild TLoVM theory time (Campaign 1 Spoilers!)

We haven’t had real setup for Hotis beyond Vax’s joke flashback in S1 and we haven’t met Seeker Assum again this season. Gilmore has made it safely to Whitestone but so has Raishan.

I think Raishan, rather than Hotis, is going to replace Gilmore, instead of Assum, to spy on the group and pull the world’s most heart wrenching assassination attempt on Vax.

Ok, I'm only missing a couple of one shots and then I'm done with campaign one. What a journey, I'm forever changed. Couple of things:

- We were ROBBED of a proper Scanlan and Pike kiss!!!

The way their relationship ended up was super sweet and fitting. But I also think that considering the way Pike reacted to Scanlan being away for a year, and the adrenaline and fear for the battle, Pike would have kissed Scanlan. Even just out of curiosity in case they didn't survive the battle. I hope to see it in the animated series at least.

- I was so disappointed that we didn't get any Gilmore closure, but having now started on "the search for Grog" I'm glad they took care of that. I can tell Sam was insisting on it (I guess he realized that was something the community felt was missing and he noticed). Damn I love this character so much!! How he evolved from "business man first" to "savior of Taldorei" (out of love of Vax and Vox Machina). His reaction to finding out Vax was dead was heartbreaking.

Currently just thinking about Sam saying "what a nice story" and Travis saying "let's do it again"... And well, catching up on campaign two won't be as easy I think... But oh how I want to.

its called "if i went and hurt my body (would you love me the same)" on ao3 and i literally spent exactly two years writing it!

its a Soulmark AU focused on Vax'ildan and his relationships to his Marks and the people he loves.

there are allusions to vax's relationships with all of vox machina, most of which can be interpreted as romantic or platonic according to preference, except for three.

vax and vex have each other's Marks, but their relationship is NOT romantic.

vax has gilmore's Mark, and has explicitly romantic feelings towards him.

vax does NOT have keyleth's Mark, but has explicitly romantic feelings towards her.

this fic is meant to be an exploration on (what i see as) vax'ildan's polyamory and his own self-esteem, specifically in relation to being polyamorous. im poly myself, and i related very deeply to vax's struggles with his feelings for gilmore and keyleth when i watched c1. and even though its been years since i last rewatched c1, i wanted to write something about this character i had fallen in love with.

over the past two years, this fic has received so much genuine support, attention, and love from the critrole community and i couldnt be happier. ive been a part of the cr community for around 2.5/3 years, and it is one of the kindest most loving fandoms ive ever been a part of. writing this fic was a hell of a journey, and every single person who commented, left a kudos, or even just read it means the world to me.

So given RECENT EVENTS, I thought it would be interesting to make a record of the "last words" of each Critical Role PC before their respective deaths, regardless of whether or not they were rezzed later on.

Obviously your mileage may vary here, since it can be hard to parse out what's said in and out of character, and it's possible I missed things as I was reading through the transcripts.

I'm only focusing on the main game here, as a note, so no Calamity.
