Fallout 4 Companions Injuries and Scars Headcanons

(TW for mentions of self harm and emotional abuse/neglect)

Cait

She has a lot of very old scars from her childhood and teen years

Most of them are generally unrecognizable, just very faint patches of warped or lighter skin

Gets a lot of injuries when fighting melee, endless amounts of bruised knuckles and black eyes

A big part of it is self harm via getting injured in ways she could have avoided and refusing proper medical help in favor of her own techniques (AKA pouring alcohol on cuts and wrapping injuries with a dirty cloth)

She feels like having visible injuries is proof that her pain (physical or emotional) is "valid" in a way

She actually gets antsy when her wounds are covered with bandages or she has to use things like scar cream that will heal things faster and leave smaller scars

Curie

She's very clumsy and gets minor injuries a LOT

Bruises on her legs from running into things, scrapes on her arms from falling into bushes or hitting her hand against a wall while gesturing

I think popular consensus is that she has a low pain tolerance but I'd like to imagine her with a high one

She'll do things like hold a too-hot cup or bite her lips until she bleeds without even noticing she's hurt

She has a few scars on her body that are from the synth before her

She likes looking at them and trying to guess where they came from

Codsworth

He's a bit self conscious when it comes to his looks

He obviously doesn't have scars, but all the scratches and dents on his body makes him feel like a piece of discarded metal

He tries hard to take care of his own looks but some rust can just never come out

He feels more comfortable when Sole points out that they're just as scarred as him, and it makes him fit in more with the wasteland

Eventually he'll worry less about his own flaws, especially once he gets to know a trustworthy mechanic for when he gets seriously hurt

Danse

He spent his adolescence scavenging in the wasteland and his adulthood playing martyr for the Brotherhood, of course he's scarred

Technically he wouldn't have scars from his childhood, but he got a fair share hanging out in Rivet City with Cutler

Kinda fucked up thought: would the Railroad scar the synths that are getting mind wipes so they fit in?

Or maybe they choose the synths backstory based on how many scars they got from escaping the Institute

Danse got injured in the Institute (maybe he's a courser?) and/or got in some close calls with the Railroad

Add or minus some with reconstructive surgery and they gave Danse a dangerous past of scavenging for survival so all the gunshot/knife/burn scars make sense

He tends to ignore pain but takes caring for his injuries very seriously

It's a "you can only help others once you help yourself" type of thing, he needs to stay healthy and fit to be able to do his work as a paladin properly

Deacon

The idea of Deacon hiding a noticable scar behind his sunglasses is cool

Maybe a scar on the bridge of his nose or near his eyebrow where he got gun bashed by a UP Deathclaw

Other than that tries to limit his scars into "normal" territory

Gunshot here and there, maybe a few scratches

He'll use makeup to make any ones too noticable look smaller and has even hurt himself further in the past to change the look of a wound to something more normal

Like he was tortured and had a symbol or letter(s) carved into him and afterwards he mutilated it to look like a ghoul swipe/big burn scar/etc

His face is scarred from his face changes but generally it's very hard to see, he'll use scar cream and cover any noticable ones with makeup

Face changes can also hide any noticable scars he gets on his face

Tends to smile/grimace when he's in pain most of the time, laughs a lot out of nervousness when someone tries to help him

If he's in a ton of pain (and adrenaline isn't doing anything to help) he'll go quiet, but if he's around someone he really trusts he'll let himself curse

Hancock

He actually lives a pretty safe lifestyle, surprisingly

Nobody dares fuck with him in Goodneighbor and he always gets free healthcare and plenty of chems for even the smallest injuries

I don't like to think his skin hurts when touched because that'd be sad, I'm leaning more towards it being rough and made out of mostly scar tissue

Got plenty of scars from his childhood and doesn't mind fighting and getting hurt now, but it all tends to blend in with his skin

He has a very high pain tolerance and usually doesn't react to most things unless they're relatively serious

Tends to get curious when it comes to injuries, will show off a nasty wound to Fahrenheit like a kid showing off a squished worm

"Look, my pee's red!" "Hancock holy shit go to a doctor"

Longfellow

I like to think he has a lot of scars on his hands

From working with hooks and idk fish biting him?

Fishing's probably a lot more dangerous now in days

*accidentally fishes up a mirelurk* oops

He's old so he's been in a bunch of fights

Although now in days he can't even get into a barfight, people like him too much and will just send him to bed like the old man he is

Acts all tough when he gets shot or something but will do the Dad Groan and complain about his back whenever he gets out of his chair

Maccready

I imagine him to have fairly calloused hands and probably knees and elbows too from being a sniper

His life as a gunner was rough and he was often treated carelessly, so a lot of noticable gun shot or stab wounds that didn't get medical attention immediately

Once he started working for himself he took better care of himself

He doesn't necessarily fret over himself but he'll get into a lot fewer fights and mostly focus on staying in the shadows and out of trouble

He has a high pain tolerance but around someone he's comfortable with he WILL whine and complain the entire time

He can get shot or stabbed without a care in the world but if a bee stings him He Will Not Shut Up

Nick

On one hand, we can use our basic biology knowledge to know that metal is not made out of cells and thus cannot reproduce to create scar tissue, and this is proven by Nick's bare hand and face gash

On the other hand, this is a sci-fi game with teleportation so fuck biology

Nick can be healed with stimpacks, and given the Institutes interest in cells and using FEV to mutate them, it'd be an interesting idea that Nick can heal similar to a human

Maybe not as effectively, and maybe it only works for his outer layer of skin and does nothing for wires or metal

Obviously stimpacks aren't miracle machines and won't fix an entire hand just being gone but smaller scrapes (especially ones that don't pierce all the way through his flesh) can be healed with stimpacks

He has a pretty normal if not a bit low of a pain tolerance, but he's good at pushing through and acting tough

He feels like since he can't really bleed out that he isn't as worthy of being in pain, so he tends to go quiet when he's hurt

Piper

She's probably got fewer injuries than the average wastelander, given her comfortable life in Diamond City, and being taken good care of by her father before her and Nat moved

Her and Nat take care of each other when it comes to this sort of thing, she makes sure Nat is taken care of and Nat makes sure she takes care of herself

Nat always comes first, naturally, but Piper doesn't want to be a bad influence by purposfully leaving her own wounds uncared for

She's really chill with stitches and needles but hates the idea of infections or dirty wounds

The idea of something foreign or gross inside her body makes her cringe and she'll always make sure to keep any injuries well covered to prevent it

Preston

He has a scar on his cheek but I'm not entirely sure what it could be from

It's hard to get a good look at it just from a google search

Deathclaw or yao guai would be cool or it could be from Quincy

Running straight into battle to protect someone being terrorized and getting sliced/bayonetted by a gunner

Handful of gunshot wounds here and there, minutemen mostly deal with attacks from raiders or supermutants which have generally weak and poorly aimed guns

He's used to patching himself up and will have a hard time accepting medical help if others need it as well, especially when it comes to pain meds or such

Might have self harmed at some point in the past

Probably not an ongoing thing especially after he noticed the scars on his arm weren't fading and that he would be "wasting" medical supplies by getting himself hurt

X6-88

It started out as a morbid curiosity thing, maybe after seeing someone he cared about get hurt/tortured and wanting to feel what they felt

Then it turned into a punishment when he felt like he could have saved someone or done better in some way

Do coursers have no scars or do they have a bunch of scars?

I kinda view coursers as neglected children

Like if they get hurt or sick they can't ask for help because they'll just be ridiculed or ignored (or killed if deemed bad enough)

If they get hurt it's their job to take care of it themselves

X6 will ignore any injuries he gets partially because according to the Institute he is Lowest Priority Ever when it comes to that and partially because he's afraid of people's reactions

Deep down he's terrified of just being killed one day because some higher up thinks it would be cheaper to make a new synth than to use the medical supplies on him

Anyone treating him gently or healing his wounds gives him so much anxiety

If he has scars he keeps them well hidden

Maxson

As funny as it is to think that the cheek scar is drawn on, it probably isn't

Although I wouldn't be surprised if rumors have been circulating for so long the entire story has shifted

"Maxson fought a deathclaw with a switchblade" okay maybe it wasn't a fight and maybe it wasn't a deathclaw and maybe he just sliced his own face open trying to do cool knife tricks "just in case" he ran into a deathclaw "one day"

Other than that he was generally protected as a kid so he's never really been allowed to get hurt

He was so doted on that he'd get reprimanded for "normal" childhood injuries like scraping his knee or falling out of a tree

Making a mistake (even if it was just tripping over a rock while playing) meant he could never do that activity again, so he became cautious and hid any injuries he did get

Probably got really sick as a kid from trying to hide things like a cut that got infected or stomach pains that ended up being appendicitis

Father

Very few scars

The Institute basically locked him away for most of his life

He never left, never had to work with guns or knives (not even to cook, since all the food is supplements)

Great medicine means any small wounds get healed quickly and rarely leave noticable scars

The worst he gets is like, papercuts

And those get bandaged immediately

He's probably pretty squeamish and steers clear of the medical wing so he doesn't have to see injured people

Very horrified when he hears some of Sole's stories about injuries he never thought people could survive

Desdemona

She seems very non hostile in general, either she's never fought very much or she has retired

She seems like she could be charismatic if she tries (and she has to have social smarts to keep up with Deacon) so she probably talks her way out of fights

A very smart kid, knew where to go and how to avoid dangerous situations

Can recognize a bar fight brewing minutes before it actually starts

Playing with the idea of a serious injury leaving her with a disability (chronic pain?) which is why she stays in HQ

I actually imagine most people in HQ are ones that can't fight as well for one reason or another, which only makes the Brotherhood's attack even worse

Rhys

I don't know why I decided this but he has burn scars all down one side of his body

Something something molotive or maybe explosion from a car or gas leak??

He was out of duty for a while and Recon Squad Gladius was his first job back

When he gets frusturated he gets careless which leads to him doing things like cutting his hand while cleaning his knife or shutting the door on his thumb

Likes showing off his scars and telling stories, will find any excuse to take off his shirt while working (especially around Haylen)

Haylen

Either stays on top of all her wounds because she has medical knowledge or neglects herself in favor of her patients

I'm leaning towards her taking care of herself

She doesn't want to "slow down the team" by staying wounded for long so she tries to draw as minimal attention to herself as possible when she gets injured and bandages it ASAP

Everyone's focused on the fighters of the group so they don't notice her as much and she prefers it that way

She doesn't like having others take care of her because it feels too infantalizing

But she'll let Danse check her over if he notices she's wounded

Tends to have minimal scars because she's good at taking care of them and smart enough to not run into danger blindly

It actually makes her feel a bit self conscious around everyone in the Brotherhood who has amazing battle scars and wild stories in compared to her

Man, I really don't think they should let Bryan wrestle anymore. He's clearly too old, he was already busted up going into that PPV and never wrestling on TV and then he got injured because his bones are too brittle and he forgot where to put his arm. Okada had to carry him through that match and he still went over which is totally unfair. I think we don't need Bryan anymore. It's All Elite Wrestling, not All Bryan Danielson Wrestling. Where was he at All In, huh? Wrestling for the fed. All I'm saying is stop buying old used up WWE stars that people only cheer for out of nostalgia and invest in promising young Indie talent like Brandon Cutler.

A ton of news, backstage reactions to Punk/Elite situation

The latest on CM Punk, Ace Steel, Young Bucks and Kenny Omega.

It was confirmed to us that Ace Steel bit Kenny Omega, CM Punk threw punches, and a chair hit Nick Jackson in the eye. However, there are conflicting views on who started it. Some we spoke with believed that Punk should have expected to be confronted after the things he said. Another person said that Omega and Young Bucks aggressively approached the locker room in what Punk could have construed as a 3-on-1 attack. We're told that the situation went on for "about six minutes," with Brandon Cutler, Christopher Daniels and Pat Buck trying to diffuse the situation.

Thus far, none of the roster or media we've reached out to have admitted to hearing from Tony Khan since the melee happened. We were told by another person high up in the company to not expect to hear much officially in the day that followed due to possible legal issues. Fightful heard back from Hoffman Estates Police Department, who said "Hoffman States Police Department does not have any police reports, nor any documentation that police were requested, during AEW All Out event for anything that allegedly occurred backstage. The only police response at the event was regarding a family issue in the audience."

Almost unanimously, the talent that we've spoken to haven't been in favor of the way CM Punk handled things at all that evening. Even talent that typically would back Punk up either said that's not what they would have done, or haven't commented to us.

We have heard the rumors of Punk sustaining an injury during the melee. The rumor has been echoed as "heard of" from people in the company, but we've not confirmed this.

There are several wrestlers who are not sure of their creative for Wednesday's AEW Dynamite as a result of this. Several longtime AEW stars said they don't understand how Punk couldn't be let go after this.

After we spoke on the Fightful post show about talent taking issue in the past about Hangman Page for working stiff, several readers tried to tie the two situations. We haven't heard of any connection, and we were told last year that Arn Anderson spoke with Page and let him know to lighten up. Page, even then, was generally well liked outside of that situation that saw a couple of wrestlers end up injured. We're told that wasn't connected to this, and that most thought Hangman Page and CM Punk got along well until this Spring.

There is some sympathy as it relates to MJF's return for some, but everyone was generally left in the dark regarding MJF's status for months and said it mirrored that of Punk winning the title in Vegas, and Wardlow beating him, but everyone speaking about MJF. Those we spoke to had not heard of any heat between MJF and Punk prior to Punk basically mentioning MJF as one of the stubborn kids he had to work with.

Fightful Select will have a live show this afternoon to discuss the situation and answer questions

A Piece of Cake (A Cup of Tea)

Notes: I hope I have done justice to what you wanted! It’s pretty angsty but I’m proud of it! Hope you enjoy :)

He was craving tea. It was well beyond the hours that Lord Cutler Beckett should be awake, and he wanted tea. It wasn’t his fault, not really, he had gotten caught up in his work and had asked no one to disturb him. But now it was very late, or very early depending on how you looked at it, and he wanted tea.

Normally, he would not hesitate to ring one of his servants and demand they make him a cup, however he was hosting a party the next day (or later that day) and he would not tolerate any mistakes. This meant he would prefer not to have to wake someone up and have them screw up something the next day. He would have to prepare it himself.

Standing up from his desk, he let out a soft moan as his spine cracked. He rolled his shoulders and straightened up, even in the dead of night he would not be caught vulnerable. As he made his way to the kitchen, he pondered how long it had been since he made his own tea. Even before he had acquired enough fortune to purchase his own servants, he had been respected by his superiors and had been treated to meetings over tea time and lunches sent to his office.

He decidedly did not think about preparing tea for his father, under the watchful eyes (and hands) of his older brothers. Nor did he think about harsh words and hits when he managed to mess something up (he always did).

Blinking as he cleared away the thoughts he did not think, he entered the kitchen. He clenched and unclenched his fists, he was perfectly fine. He rarely visited his own kitchen, and so he allowed himself a moment to stare; he had spared no expense for his entire estate, and the room was no exception. Clean and expensive, it was most certainly fit for a Lord. He did, however, have no idea how it was organized.

He purged his mind of any thoughts as he began methodically searching the room for the necessary items; a kettle, a pot, a cup, a saucer, the tea. He slowly collected the items, mind pleasantly blank as he went through the repetitive motion of searching. Open the drawer or cabinet, look inside, close it, move on.

Eventually, he had gathered up the necessary items, and began boiling the water. He filled the kettle from the tap, humming under his breath as he did so. It was an old tune, one his mother had hummed to him when he was young. It was a sad little tune, but there was pleasantness in it, a certain pride that came from someone who had nothing else to lose. Once he had filled the kettle, he lit the stove top and gently set it on the heating surface.

He had to wait now, waiting was always the worst part. He could recall, for all he tried not to, when the water took a spectacularly long time to boil as a child. He could remember the feeling of his brothers shoving him down, of them yelling at him. He was always doing something wrong.

He was broken out of the memory by a familiar whistle. The water had finished boiling. He pulled it off the stove top and extinguished the fire. He set it aside momentarily as he approached the tea pot. He gently deposited a teaspoon of English Tea into the pot, greedily breathing in the aroma of the tea leaves. What a nostalgic pleasant smell.

Turning back to the boiled water, he carefully poured it into the waiting pot, hissing as a droplet managed to hit his finger. He gently sucked on the offending appendage as he closed the pot, content to let it steep. He poured the remaining water into his waiting cup, delicately balancing the boiled water with one hand as the other was injured.

Now came the waiting again. Seconds passed like minutes as he desperately pushed down the thoughts. It was far too quiet, and dark. Nostalgia is an interesting phenomenon is it not? That one could yearn for a past that was far worse than their present just for memories sake was a horrible notion. It was cruel to make people feel that way.

The tea should be steeped by now, should it not? Yes, it should. He blinked again, pouring the water in the tea cup back into the kettle. He took a deep breath and poured himself a cup of tea, the smell made him want to gag. He took a sip, not caring that it burnt his tongue. It tasted of blood and dirt. He swallowed.

He set the cup down and returned to his study. He had work to do, he had no time to be spending time in the kitchen making his own tea.

He would just wake someone else up next time.

AEW Rebirth

I gotta say, before tonight, I was kind of dreading how the would handle an episode of Dynamite without Punk, Omega, and the Young Bucks.

Now, I’m beginning to think those guys were what made me sick of the product in the first place.

It reaaaalllly irked me that everyone just tacitly admitted that the Trios titles were introduced just to set up Kenny Omega’s return, so that he could reunite with the Young Bucks, sweep the tournament, and win the belts. It made sense to do that, but I hated the absolute certainty of it, where there was no point in even considering any other alternative outcome.

And really, that’s been the problem with the Elite all along. No one was shocked to see Cody win the TNT title, and even though it took a while for Omega and the Bucks to get their own belts, everyone understood that it was only a matter of time, and that they deliberately held off for a while just to make it less obvious.

For most of the history of the company, the Elite have been doing this endless storyline about their relationship with Hangman Adam Page. This was supposed to culminate in Page winning the World Title from Omega, which meant Omega had to win it from Jon Moxley, which I wasn’t too wild about. But I liked Hangman okay, and I was willing to let it play out, even through all the misfires and delays before the big match finally happened. And then Hangman just drops the title to CM Punk at the earliest opportunity.

I still can’t stand the finish of that match. They spent all that time building to Hangman as champion, and then let his title reign fizzle out like that. And maybe this is why Punk and the Elite haven’t gotten along, because maybe their big saga conflicts with Punk’s agenda, whatever that is.

I can’t make heads or tails of Punk’s AEW run, because all he’s done is beat one guy after the next and cruise to the World Title, only to get injured right after winning the thing. Then they do this inerim title thing, he comes back and gets pissy at Hangman on a live mic, and suddenly they do the unification match on free TV ten days early. He loses in a squash match, suggesting that he’s not ready for All Out, but then they just do the scheduled main event anyway, but this time it’s more convoluted because he lost the unification match so badly and no one knows what shape his foot is in.

I listened to a clip of Dave Meltzer explaining why this wasn’t a stupid idea, and he said that it was okay because Punk vs. Mox was still the biggest possible match for All Out, so it still made sense to do that match. Fine, but that misses the whole point. They were always going to do Punk/Mox at All Out no matter what, so why did they do the squash match ten days in advance, then do the stupid angle where Ace Steel convinces Punk to go for the rematch? The main event of the pay-per-view was always a solid plan, but the build to it was nonsensical, and each step felt like it was slapped together at the last minute.

The point is that I tune in for guys like Mox, Hangman, Death Triangle, and Eddie Kingston, and they keep getting jobbed out for the sake of the Elite and CM Punk. And for a long time, I didn’t mind that too much because I thought I enjoyed all of those guys too, but hot damn, the creative sure got better once those guys were removed from the show. No pointless backstage promos featuring Brandon Cutler filming the Bucks, no Don Callis horseshit, no confusing moments where you can’t tell if the Elite are faces or heels, and no weird worky-shooty shit or out-of-nowhere plot developments for CM Punk.

I hope this sticks. They’ve got a hell of a roster without the Elite and Punk, and if they can keep running shows like the 9/7/22 Dynamite, then maybe we don’t need them back. I’d like to think they could somehow return without bringing back all the bullshit I didn’t like, but if it’s a package deal, then fuck ‘em. Fuck Bullet Club, Fuck BTE, Fuck Chicago twice. Death Triangle are the Trios Champions and Mox cut a brilliant promo tonight. This is what I tune in to see.

HOOKhausen My gateway drug, I wouldn’t be watching wrestling if not for gifs of their tag team courtship. Even now, when I go back and watch their promos, I get all soft.

CM Punk vs MJF feud Yes, like 90% of tumblr I also saw the dog collar match gifs. After Hookhausen had caught my eye, I stumbled across Outside Interference’s video, which inspired me to go through all the shows to watch the full segments. I got to know lots of wrestlers along the way, very enjoyable way of exploring AEW for the first time, and very worth doing for the feud itself too.

G1 Climax 32 Although Forbidden Door introduced quite a few NJPW wrestlers, none of it really stuck (too many new faces and acronyms and mostly me laughing at and being impressed by Excalibur trying to power his way through it all). So G1 was me following El Phantasmo and getting to know the New Japan roster. Most of the matches weren’t as memorable as the ones I listed above, mostly on account of it all being very new to me. But I did get really into it as the tournament went on and had a blast.

I am enjoying Jamie Hayter having the belt, though, and there’s plenty of women on the roster I do like, so I’m keeping an eye out. NJPW and Stardom having their show introduced me to Stardom, so I might give that a go too.

Rob checked him over finding some muscle soreness and treated these points as well as giving him a chi flush clearing all meridians, This made a notable difference to Simon’s horse. He treated him again in 2 days and gave him a pickup treatment before playing the final. Simon went on to be awarded the best no. 2 and best under 21 man player at the Nationals, as well as their team taking out the under 21 open titles.

John Greenwood asked me to check his son Josh’s horse at the Albury Polocrosse Nationals as he was not right. I found muscle soreness and gave him treatment for this as well as a chi flush to clear and boost all meridians, Josh worked him finding him much improved. I then treated the horse again for 2 days. Josh went on to be part of the winning under 21 open side as well as taking out the best no. 3 in the grade.

My horse tied up badly at the Polocrosse Masters, Rob offered to treat the horse and being a skeptic about acupuncture I said OK. I went on to play the horse the next day, which I would not have been able to do without the treatment.

He is feeling much better and was running around the paddocks a couple of Thursdays ago (the day after the last time you saw him) and he was even kicking out at Cooper which he has not been able to do before! Does anyone need an acupuncturist out to see their horse? Leo’s acupuncturist lives in Tamworth and I am trying to persuade him to come up to do a session on Leo. He has magic hands – he first saw Leo as a crippled horse who could hardly move (this is not exaggerating) and after 2 sessions with Rob, he was like a mad horse running around like a 2-year-old using acupuncture and Bowen therapy alone – no pain killers!

I had the vet out to Leo first and I feel that he misdiagnosed him as the treatment (but for the rest of his life – up to 3 sachets a day) didn’t work so I looked for alternate treatment. Leo is now on no painkillers at all and with acupuncture every 2-3 months, he can strut his stuff around the paddock and is not lame or showing any soreness at all. Anyway, to get Rob to come up again, I need to make it worth his while and get a few appointments lined up for him. The last time Rob was not available I called another acupuncturist (his invoice for the service was approx $240 – but he did have a couple of injections) and others are not taking on any new clients (it is hard for existing clients to get in anyway!) there are not many other alternatives. Rob charges $80 for treatment and is well worth it!

I was selected to be part of the 2000 Olympic opening ceremony which was a spectacular musical ride of 120 horses. My horse had always been a Polocrosse horse without troop drill or flag experience and was also quite a flighty horse. He would jig jog at a walk and wasn’t accustomed to clapping or waving flags in the wind

Rob began treating my horse 20min before each night's practice and our major performance, with a calming acupuncture point. My horse was a totally new horse and I even had to tell Rob that I didn’t need it for a few nights because the previous night he was too quiet and lazy. I have since ridden this horse again in the Stockmen’s Ride at Newcastle and Sydney shows without a problem.

He said he had gone through a form of marriage with one Christina Casteen, in October, 1923, although legally married in Winnipeg in 1921.

"There are some peculiar circumstances to this case," said Assistant Crown Attorney Snyder. "He tried to get a divorce in the United States, I believe.

"We'll have to hold the case over," he added, "as Mr. Payne, although he has pleaded guilty, has not given us sufficient documents as proof."

The accused was accordingly released on bail on a remand until Feb. 24.

Amateur Sleuth Rose Davis acted as an amateur sleuth, she told the court.

Suspecting a Ukrainian woman of stealing a dress from her shop, she went several evening to the Ukrainian Hall to see. if the dress would appear on the dance floor. It did not.

"Then I read the paper, and saw where this woman had been accused of taking goods from a store," she added, in charging Sadie Zulyn with theft, "and I had good reason to think she was the thief, as she was the last customer in my store on the day the dress disappeared."

The evidence not being all presented, the case was adjourned until Feb. 24. The alleged theft took place early last November.

Elizabeth Commander, three times convicted of drunkenness, went to the Ontario reformatory for three months.

"Give me a chance, I'll go to Montreal," requested Nellie Allen, who pleaded guilty to keeping a resort.

She had been in jail for two years on a vagrancy charge before and had recently been given a suspended sentence.

"She has been given two chances already." decided Magistrate Patterson. "She'll go to the Mercer reformatory for three months."

Woman Dentist Charged Dr. Margaret Kinsman, a dentist of Windsor, was charged with criminal negligence while driving automobile. She was alleged to have injured Miss Alberta Douglas.

"She had a scalp laceration and a fracture of the leg," said Dr. McGow, who had attended the injured woman in the General hospital.

"I haven't Margt. Kinsman here," said her counsel. who pleaded not guilty for his client, "as I thought! there was going to be a settlement made within three weeks."

The case was remanded until March 10.

Restitution having been made, the charge against Fanny Waisglass of false pretences was dismissed.

Mrs. Irene Cutler, convicted of theft, was asked by the court to sign a bond of $200 to keep out of departmental stores for the next two years.

"I think her daughter's should also be on the bond," declared the crown.

The two women accordingly signed the bond together.

Mary Brindle. who possessed a lengthy police record, was sentenced to the municipal reformatory for three months, on a charge of keeping a resort on Oak St.

Robert Small, found in, paid a fine of $10.

Wm. Colleman, found in, also was given a fine of $10.

Pasquale Facchini, up for sentence on a conviction of assaulting and beating his wife, was bound over to keep the peace towards both his wife. and sister-in-law on a bond of $200.

Wednesday, December 8, 2021 AEW Dynamite – Long Island, New York

When Alex saw that familiar white minivan pull into UBS Arena, she felt like she might throw up and pass out. And when Trent emerged from said minivan sporting a buzz cut and a look that could kill, she almost did.

She’d had no idea he would be there tonight. Sure, he was from Long Island, but he’d had neck surgery less than six months ago; was he already cleared to wrestle? She winced as he hit Brandon Cutler with a spear outside the ring. Apparently so.

He took out Matt Jackson, and then Adam Cole, and then Nick Jackson. Alex’s heart was going a mile a minute in her chest. She’d been nervous enough about this match before Trent had shown up. She wasn’t sure why the Super Kliq had suddenly decided to target Best Friends over the last few weeks, but it was hard for her not to take it personally. Her affiliation with The Elite had been one of circumstance; that circumstance had changed. Going after her former friends was like rubbing salt in a wound.

But it was nothing compared to seeing Kris walk arm-in-arm with Sue to the ring. It made Alex realize: the last time Sue had rolled up to Dynamite, she’d been inside the minivan.

Trent, Sue, Chuck, Orange, Kris, and Rocky Romero all gathered in the ring, arms outstretched, but Alex walked away from the monitor before she could see them hug. She couldn’t watch anymore; she didn’t even want to be there anymore. She’d already wrestled her match for Dark: Elevation. No one would even notice if she just left.

She went back to the women’s locker room and gathered up her things. She was staying at a hotel near the arena and flying back home tomorrow morning. Now, she’d wished she’d booked her flight for tonight.

Especially when she walked out of the locker room and came face-to-face with Trent.

“Alex. Hey.”

It was hard for her not to stare. She was even more taken aback by his appearance now that he was right in front of her. He looked so different.

“Hey. Were you injured or in prison?”

It flew out of her mouth before she realized it, and her cheeks burned pink. But Trent shrugged—perhaps intentionally flexing in the process.

“I’ll take that as a compliment.”

Alex rolled her eyes. But she couldn’t stop the smirk that tugged at her lips. At least it had broken the ice.

For a moment, anyway.

“I didn’t know you’d be here tonight,” she said. It was a pointless thing to say—of course she hadn’t known; they hadn’t spoken in eight months. But she didn’t know what else to say.

“A lot of people didn’t know,” he returned.

Alex looked down at the ground. That didn’t make it any better. In fact, it made it worse. It only reminded her that she didn’t used to be just anyone to Trent.

“I got your get well soon card.”

She looked back up at him in surprise. When she’d found out that he’d had neck fusion surgery, the first thing she’d wanted to do was pick up the phone and call him. But she hadn’t felt like she could. She’d found out about the surgery in the same way and at the same time as the rest of the world: after the fact, on Twitter, as if it were no big deal. Not even Chuck had bothered to tell her about it beforehand. Knowing that hurt. It was yet more proof that their relationship wasn’t what it used to be, and it probably never would be again. But it was hard to just let go of six years of friendship. So, she’d sent Trent a get well soon card in hopes that maybe they could salvage what was left, if there was anything at all. But he hadn’t responded—and thinking about it now hurt all over again.

“That was six months ago,” she returned. “Why are you just saying something now?”

“Because I’m an idiot,” he admitted. “I’m sorry, Alex. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wanted to text you over the last six months.”

Alex’s nose unexpectedly burned. Hearing his apology hit her square in the chest. But it felt too little, too late.

“Do you know how hard it was for me to find out about your surgery after it had already happened, on Twitter?” she charged. “I know things weren’t great between us then, Greg, but that’s a serious fucking procedure, and Dustin didn’t even bother to tell me beforehand. Do you know how much that hurt me?”

“Dustin wanted to tell you.”

She blinked in confusion. “What?”

He sighed and looked away. There was guilt in his dark eyes… regret. “Dustin wanted to tell you, and I told him not to because… I don’t even know why now. We got into a fucking screaming match about it right before I went into surgery. Ask Jim.”

Her eyes blurred and she looked up at the ceiling. She didn’t want to cry in front of him. But maybe she should. This had been bottled up inside her for so many months—maybe he needed to see it, to feel it for himself. Maybe it would help them both let go of all their stubbornness and anger.

And maybe that meant she wouldn’t have to let go of him.

“I wish you would have had said something,” she said, her voice growing thick. “Anything.”

He didn’t look away that time. “I wish I would have, too. But I’m hoping that it’s not too late to say it now. I really fucking miss you, Alex.”

Her bottom lip quivered. “I miss you, too. All of you,” she said, and that time she didn’t fight the tears. They fell faster when Trent rushed over to wrap her up in a tight hug, and she buried her face in his shoulder. Eight months they hadn’t spoken, and even longer since it had felt like they were friends. She hadn’t realized how much she’d wanted to just hug him until that moment.

He pulled back, and she did, too, sniffling. She started to wipe the tears from her cheeks—but he beat her to it, wiping them away with his thumbs. Her stomach fluttered.

“Come get a drink with us,” he said.

Her eyes widened. “What?” She shook her head in hesitation. “No, I don’t think that’s a good idea.”

His brow furrowed. “Why?”

“Because,” she breathed. “The way I’ve acted… the things I’ve said. I just feel like it won’t ever be the same between any of us.”

Another tear fell, and he wiped it away again. “I get it. But they miss you, too. You’re part of our stupid little family. That never changed. Trust me.”

Her vision went blurry again. He had no idea how much that meant to her.

“Just one drink,” he said. “To start, at least.”

A corner of his mouth quirked up; Alex bit her lip. There was no denying that just the thought of even one drink with all of Best Friends made her uneasy. The group itself had changed so much since she’d left. She felt like Kris had replaced her; she didn’t even know Wheeler; they were in CHAOS now, for crying out loud. But friends like Chuck and Trent—friends who had become family—they were worth trying for.

“Okay,” she agreed. “One drink… to start.”

Jade Princess Chapter 15: Ready the ship.

Chapter 14

„Sir.” Mercer interrupts the lord. "The Jade Princess' ship has docked in port." Cutler looks up. “It was almost destroyed and is about to sink. Few of the crew were left alive.” His heart skips a beat. Would that mean you are injured? Or even worst dead? He cover his worries behind his usually cold face.

Mercer looks behind him and nods. A thin young man stepped forward behind him. Just about 20 years old.

"Report." Mercer prompts him. “We were attacked surprisingly by the Flying Dutchman. She had largely spared us. Few of the crew were killed instantly and the rest were left to our fate.” Cutler’s gaze stayed on Mercer. "And your captain?" He asks calm.

The shy look of the young man fell on the floor. “Was pushed overboard injured. We don't know what has become of Him. "

"Him? Speak the truth. He was called the Jade Princess. Was your captain a woman? "-" Yes sir. "

"And she wore a necklace made of jade with a golden dragon?" - "Yes sir." "Go." "Sir."

He bowed and almost ran out of the office. Cutler waited until he was gone before turning to Mercer. He hopes the scottish man have more information for him. “She survived with Sparrow's help. I saw her on Tortuga.” Sparrow. His upper lip twitches. At least she is alive.

Cutler was seething inside. The man's name stirred unpleasant memories in him and now it was in his hands. “He doesn't seem to bend her a single hair. But she is clearly a prisoner."

“He's going to sail to Cajo Babo.” The assistant adds.

“Then we will too. Ready the ship.“ The Lord decides and looks after Mercer. He could slap himself for getting so emotional about you. Or was it the outstanding account he still had with Jack? He wanted you back. He wanted to know you safe. How could he let you sail without him? For some times it worked but now his biggest fear comes true.

You are injured. In the hands of pirates. Only the kind heart of Sparrow let him calm down a little. He knows Jack wouldn’t kill you. Maybe he would leave you on some island or anyone else. But he will not harm you.

Two young people — Declan Cutler, 16, and Alier Riak, 23 — were killed at Coburg North and the Docklands respectively during a spate of extreme violence on Melbourne streets last weekend.

A 15-year-old was also stabbed at Flinders Street Station, an 18-year-old critically injured during a knife attack at Federation Square and an Uber driver attacked with a knife at Fitzroy.

At the time, The Age revealed data from the Victorian Injury Surveillance Unit showed nearly a third of injuries in 2020 were inflicted by people not known to their victim, including nearly 50 from gang attacks. Three Weeks

Kara Danvers x Mon-El

inspired by prompt: “I miss you too much to be mad anymore” (i dont remember where i got it from)

warnings: none, just fluff

summary: in the three weeks after breaking up with mon-el, kara realises that she misses him too much and just wants him back.

a/n while writing this, i realised that the fic would kinda fit with the song ‘three weeks’ by james humphrys. But some inspo for this was probably something sadder like: you were good to me by jeremy zucker and chelse cutler or the enemy by andrew belle. basically sad stuff.

The apartment was once again empty when she opened the door. No smell of food, no sound of hummed music or plates could be heard. It was empty and cold.

She didn't think that she could feel alone so fast after she broke things off with him, but that was it. Cold, alone and with a broken heart.

Work didn't help her to easily get over that moment. It took her mind off of it, yes, but she still found herself most of the time thinking about her now ex-boyfriend, who lied to her about his true heritage.

It's been almost three weeks since they broke it off. They saw each other from time to time. Especially, they had to save the city, but in rest, they were almost like strangers. From lovers to strangers was something that troubled Kara, especially at night or in times like these, when she was alone, in her apartment.

It's been three weeks and she missed him. Missed his smile, his eyes, the way she brought light to her home, their home, how at night she had his arms around her and the world felt safer and more at balance.

She didn't realise when the tears started to fall on her face and that she was still on the threshold of her apartment, thinking that if she were to enter it, she would not sense that it was hers. He made it truly feel like home. He was home.

She angrily threw her bags on the counter, wiped her eyes and took only her phone, keys and wallet and stormed out through the still-open door.

When she entered the DEO, it was late. The sun was already gone, the lights were on and she had just realized that he might have a shift at the bar. But she entered the dimly lit locker room. She used her super hearing to see if he was in the room or close to it and she heard the soft hum of his voice under the loud stream of water.

His voice became clearer and clearer, but the words didn’t make sense to her, she couldn’t understand them. He was possibly singing in his native language, the words dancing softly from his lips. She stood on the threshold between the locker room and the bathroom until he stopped singing and the water was turned off.

And moments later, she was face to face with her ex-boyfriend.

What she saw first were his eyes, the bright blue eyes she loved looking into. He looked hopeful. Then came the dark bags under his eyes, followed by the soft curve of his plump lips. His hair was still wet, water dripping slowly from it. His shirt’s collar was wet and his pyjama pants hung low on his hips.

Kara straightened before him and watched him take her in.

“Everything alright?” he asked. His voice was just as soft as she remembered. It was filled with concern, she understood why he thought that. She looked like she had one of the worst days of her life. She was not injured, fortunately, but her face was filled with sadness, her eyes were like stormy skies.

“I miss you too much to be mad anymore,” she said. And they stood there in that bathroom for moments that felt like hours, days, even eternity. She didn’t like the silence, she despised it.

He didn’t say anything, he just covered the space between them and surrounded her body with his arms. His touch was assuring. Touching him would sure not lead to broken bones, awkward moments. She couldn’t break him.

She took in his scent. The shower gel smelt exactly like the one she gave him on Christmas. He used to be so clueless back then. And he was so warm now.

“I’m sorry,” he whispered in her ear, his nose now in her ruffled hair. She just hugged him more, felt his warmth. She surrounded herself in him. She had missed him so much in the last weeks.

“I know,” she assured both of them that everything would be okay through those words. He kissed her hair, circled his arms more around her. “Can we go home now, please?” she mumbled. She wanted to go to bed in his arms. She hadn’t had a good night’s sleep since he was gone. She was always cold, in search of his warmth.

He nodded, reluctantly let go of her and she took his hand.

That night, Kara had one of the best nights of sleep that month.
