Watching Call the Midwife on your periods is a whole new experience... I am crying so much my cat's come to sit on me. And she hasn't done that in months omg.
I want to write about each character, I love all of them :') 🦋
(if anything happens to Sister Monica Joan I will riot; a piece of me will wither away.)
First chapter of a new fic called She Was a Nun. Upon moving into Nonnatus, Patsy quickly finds out about Mrs. Turner's past from Trixie and Cynthia. Each chapter will focus on a new character leaning this news.
In a world where supernatural creatures are known but are often ostracised and forced to live in secrecy, the Order of St Raymond Nonnatus is a refuge for its sisters.

Evangelina found her sister where she had expected to, but hung back on the threshold hoping to watch her for a minute and gauge the lay of the land. It was harder with Julienne; she didn’t give off the same scent signals that Evangelina could read from the others. Still, she could read the nervousness in her constant movements, and her sister’s distraction was obvious in the fact that she’d yet to spot Evangelina’s presence.
“Can I help, Sister?” Julienne asked lightly, without turning around.
“I just wanted to see if you needed a hand,” Evangelina replied, stepping into the room. “And perhaps remind you that we’re not offering a maid service.”
Julienne turned to face her, running her hand over the front of her habit. “I just can’t settle.” Evangelina resisted the urge to roll her eyes.
“I hadn’t noticed,” she said dryly. “Did you make it to bed at all last night?”
“I don’t need–” Julienne began.
“As much sleep as the rest of us,” she cut in. “Less, not none.” It was not the first time that they’d had the argument over the years and she doubted it would be the last.
“I assure you,” Julienne said, rounding the bed. “I’m quite alright. Though, as always, I appreciate your concern.” She reached out to rest her hand on Evangelina’s upper arm.
“Yes, well,” Evangelina said. “Are we making this bed then?”
[Trigger Warning for Sexual Assault] For context, my mother and I have been watching call the midwife together, but I’ve seen the whole series. I just wanted to get the opinion of some of you on here about a view my mother has that I’ve never thought about. When Sister Mary Cynthia gets attacked, I kind of took her at her word that she wasn’t raped. I never thought about the issue further but my mom has a theory that she was and she didn’t want to tell anyone else about it. If you look at her actions from that perspective it kind of makes sense. She really wanted to take a bath immediately following the attack, but she didn’t want to be naked. In the episodes following the attack, she’s trying to cover up as much as possible by wearing that cardigan/sweater all the time. What do you guys think?

Long time no post. To make a VERY Long story short I’ve finally made it back to a place where bringing back my CTM fanfic can be a reality.
The question is: what would YOU the reader want to read? Understand I refuse to do explicit R rated scenes but am open to some heavier topics (I.E one specific darker prompt I have in mind)
Where do you want to see Across the Plains go? What one shots do you want?
of the many, many characters in Call the Midwife, it's Cynthia who stands out to me on this rewatch.
Her ability to be calm and help others find that calmness, her gentle way of speaking, her friendship and the joy she found in her work, it's very remarkable.
