A/N: hello everyone! this is my first post, i hope you all like it!!! this is part 1 of my D:BH LGBTQIA+ headcanon series. this was originally supposed to be posted during pride month but i unfortunately got distracted & wasn't able to write enough. i will probably take a while to finish this series due to personal issues so i apologize in advance.

Kara:

Sexuality: Bambi lesbian, graysexual

Gender: Cis female

The android revolution reached its way to Canada soon after it being successful in the United States. Other countries were in the process of granting android’s rights as well but Canada beat some of them to it, being the 2nd country in the world to recognise androids as people.

Even with it being mostly safe for her to, Kara didn’t want to move back to Detroit. It would only make her relive the traumatic memories.

After moving to Canada with Alice and Luther, she was finally able to relax a bit, enjoying life with her new family. She was very happy to finally be able to focus a bit more on herself instead of just trying to survive. She started thinking about her new life and how she wants to live it.

While she loves Luther and is very grateful for him, even owing him her and Alice's life, she just simply could never see herself having anything more than a platonic relationship with a man. She didn't think this really meant anything until she was watching TV and saw one of Marcus' interviews, this one being about a new support group center that also acted as a campaign for Android-Human relations and android LGBTQIA+ rights, for his next goal of making Android-Human and other types of android marriages legal in all North America and for humans to recognize that androids are capable of being diverse in their gender identities and sexual orientations, just like humans.

She waited quite a while to tell her family. She was on edge, wondering what Alice and Luther might think. But when she told them one night while they were getting ready for bed in their new apartment, Luther expressed his support, asking if it was ok if they could keep co-parenting. He didn’t want to make her uncomfortable since other parents will assume they’re in a relationship. She obviously said yes, since he is a great father figure for Alice and one of her only friends, other than Rose and her family.

Alice didn’t say much since she didn’t know what a lesbian was. She asked Luther later that night while he was tucking her in and he explained to her what being gay is. Kara wondered how Luther knew what being gay was in the first place and how he even was supportive since he was stuck with Zlatko before they met… She decided she’d ask him about that some other time.

After she did her nightly chores, she called Rose, telling her she wanted to tell her something important the next time she visits.

Detroit: Become Human - but I've swapped everyone around

Connor is a customised household android, designated AX800, belonging to a household in Corktown, Detroit. Based off of a singular image on the steam board for D:BH that really got me thinking - eventually it turned into an entire fanfic! This is supposed to be an entire, yet canon-compliant, swapped-positions AU of Detroit: Become Human. If anyone's wondering before diving in: Kara is now Markus, Markus is now Connor, and Connor is now Kara (in the broadest sense of who they are and what their story is). it's tuesday my dudes

i forgot to take my meds last night and this morning, so i had a headache all day, but it went away as soon as I took my meds tonight. hahhh. Just finished working out a bit too.

this is what my desktop pretty much looks like all the time (sans legal documents)

I am so so serious about creating a consistent art style so I can make visual novels. My "main goal" right now is to "rewrite" Detroit via visual novel to practice branching gameplay and also rewrite a few scenes and story lines (like Kara and Alice.) Obviously, to recreate the entire game would be nuts. The main thing is to learn how to make visual novels in general, so I'm gonna start with specific scenes and then kinda go out from there.

I also want to write a fanfiction for D:BH. I started drafting it out. The first time is never perfect but I gotta start somewhere with storytelling, and for now, I'm borrowing these characters...

But my art style is pretty obviously going in a certain direction. Ghost in the shell was one of the first anime movies I ever saw (along with Adolescence of Utena. That was definitely an experience) And while I want each of my portraits to look like they "match" I also need to remember that I can still change and vary things up. That's kinda the main reason Markus and North are not 100% complete. The point wasn't to draw a finished portrait of them but to explore and practice a style. I like to think I'll go back once I gain more skill and draw finished portraits of the main D:BH cast.

One thing I really like about using D:BH to practice my art is that there are a variety of different characters to draw, from race to age and beyond.

This styles similarities to realism do throw me off though. I keep wanting to steer into realistic proportions but since it's not my intention from the outset, things get weird fast. Thankfully, I'm a lot better about starting over, reworking sketches and concepts, than I used to be. Before, I would have been tortured to even think about starting over on Amelia's portrait, but now? I want to make a proper portrait of her, in oil pastel. Not in procreate with my illustration tools. (I haven't shown yall my oil pastel rizz yet, hee hee)

On an unrelated note

I talked a bit with my best friend about my headspace around the Decharts' streams (and positive spaces in general) but i was still in oof ouch head hurty mode so I didn't get much out, but she was like "yeah. positivity vibe exposure therapy." I did catch their stream today but it was right when I had to go to the mechanic/dealership.

and boy, is my car a piece of work. I always done knew it too!!! But I need to be more assertive about taking care of it instead of feeling like my Abba is the only one who can decide when things get replaced and when. But i need new tires last week :/

He's throwing a route tonight too. I hope it's all boring and safe.

Gah, i had something else I wanted to talk about but it's escaped me.

Doing things in general has been easier.

I worry about when school starts. I have this gnawing feeling that I need to take a full course load but I know, consciously, that if I do it will end badly.

Although I'm trying to build better self-care habits over the summer so I don't get completely blindsided again. It's just, when I get drowned in a project, it can be hard to pull myself up and do the things I know help me. Like I can't work on my project as well if I don't take the moment to take my medication. gahhhh. but in each moment is eternity, so why would i take an eternity to do something else?

I guess that's my default way of thinking. Maybe that's why things are so intense so often unless I dislodge my brain from the world.

There's something about the Decharts' streams and other thing similar that makes it hard for me to zone out/dissociate/focus on something else/some variation of that. I can't ignore it. And then it's just sensory overload. I think when i feel emotions it's sensory overload first. and then whatever the emotion is second.

I've been trying to let myself feel things about silly android game. As long as it's not guilt. I am trying not feel guilty for liking this game so much. Like what's the use in feeling weird and bad about listening to the soundtrack. gahh the blood is draining from my fingers again.

Speech therapy today went well too.

Luthara Headcanon:

Luther and Kara try to keep their feelings to themselves for a while? Specifically from Alice.

They just are terrified with putting to much on Alice, and worry that she might be upset about them being together. Neither of them want her to feel like their love for her has changed so they decide to wait till things are a little more calm to admit to Alice they love one another.

However, Alice IS an android and calls them on is so much quicker than they anticipate and to their surprise she is thrilled about it.

Am I the only one who likes the D:BH concept art outfits way more than the ones in-game? Like:

Are these not infinitely more interesting? Connor being more low-key and less identifiable as an android while also still clearly branded? Alice in more dirty and uninteresting clothing to show how little Todd actually cares about her? These do wonders for telling us about their characters that I don't really feel exists for the in-game outfits? Idk man.

Especially Markus' finale outfit. His in-game brown outfit is iconic but feels so boring to me, not to mention it doesn't really fit with his current green/blue color scheme most his outfits (aside from his uniform and his Stratford Tower outfits) adhere to. Going to Jericho? Green jacket. Capitol Park? Green shiny tracksuit thing. Freedom March? Blue hoodie. I prefer this dark green war outfit ngl.

Also Kara with a large hood or a leather jacket is my new religion thank you.

Kara had always loved Luther. It was only a matter of time before she realized it.

And once she realized it, she couldn't stop realizing it.

It felt a lot like deviating – like opening her eyes for the first time to see the world with perfect clarity, like a thick blanket of fog had cleared without warning, unveiling the path that lead to the rest of her life.

It started with the way he said her name. ‘Kara’, soft and warm and golden like liquid honey, and it wasn’t long before one thing led to another - as things often do - and Kara found herself lost in eyes like endless pools of rich mahogany.

He is so much more than the strong, loyal guardian the world sees him to be.

Luther is warmth, and tenderness, and devotion – he's the feeling of home, the comfort of belonging and acceptance. He’s her voice of reason, whispering calming reassurances when she gets anxious – a regular occurrence, just as inevitable as the frigid Canadian winters and especially unpredictable – and her rock, steadying her when life makes her feel shaky on her feet. He's the one who reads to Alice nearly every night before bed, who calmly collects (and safely relocates, because Luther doesn't believe in senseless violence) any spiders that find their way into the house (curiously enough, Kara is exceptionally afraid of them).

So when Luther got down on one knee, brandishing a ring and asking Kara to be his forever, she, undoubtedly, said yes.

They have their differences. Favorite movies, for example, their beliefs in RA9, or more importantly - whether or not dessert can eaten before dinner (Luther, of course, is team #dessertfirst).

It's morning when Kara pads down the hall of the home they own together, slipper-clad and wrapped in a soft pink bathrobe. She hears voices coming from her daughter’s bedroom, and peeks inside.

“Come, sleepy Dormouse, it's time to wake up.” Luther says softly, with a gentle nudge of Alice's shoulder.

“Daaad,” Alice whines, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. “How old do I have to be before you stop calling me that?”

“You could be a hundred years old and you'd still be my little mouse.”

He leans, shadowing Alice in substantial frame, and presses a gentle kiss against her forehead, strands of soft chestnut hair brushing his face.

Kara had always loved Luther. It was only a matter of time before she realized it.

So after my unpopular opinion post we got talking with @theythoughtthelionswerebad it made me think of some fluffy hcs. Also, @theythoughtthelionswerebad are amazing and helped with this/gave me the inspiration to do this and I’ve only known them for 1hour but I would die for them. Warning : absolutely no angst there, only happy things and it might give you cavities

-Kara is Luther’s wife, they love each other and are the picture perfect of pure love -North is Kara’s girlfriend, they met and bonded over their lives before the revolution and the abuse they had to get through -Luther saw them falling in love before they even did

-He’s chill with this tho because he loves Kara and understands that she doesn’t love him any less just because she’s in love with someone else -He’s actually the one who went to see North and told her to make a move because Kara was moping -”She didn’t even laugh when I fell down the stairs, she’s got it bad” -So North’s part of the family now -Alice was already used to calling her auntie so it stuck -Luther becomes best friend with North -One day Kara comes home and they’re braiding Alice’s hair. -The day after that North is reading her favourite poem to Luther -Then they’re playing video games -One night she finds a post it note saying they left to see some monster trucks show -She just sorts of accept it -The Jerrys are the neighbors -They have their own house but most of the time Kara ends up taking care of them -Because while they can all individually cook, they’re all shit at keeping their focus on the food and when there’s 17 of them, they don’t stay focused very long until something distract them -Ralph is a family friend -He comes over to play with Alice and one day he just never leaves -North stays there more often than not -The Jericho Squad doesn’t really understand what happened but North seemed happy so they’re okay with it -Josh becomes Luther’s other best friend -Everyone knew they’d get along but no one suspected it would go down like this -Basically Alice had a school project and she couldn’t finish on time so she asked Luther for help since Kara was over at the Jerries and North had some Jericho shit to deal with -Except Alice totally forgot to mention she should have started on it months ago so it takes ages to do it -And Luther can’t finish it alone so he asks North for help but she can’t leave the meeting so she sends Josh -They spend the night trying to make this fucking project work -There’s a lot of crying and cursing involved -The next day they’re covered in glitter and the teachers says Alice did a terrible job -She doesn’t care -Luther and Josh burst out crying -North tries to kick the teacher’s ass -Kara can’t stop her because she’s already in the principle’s office, complaining about this -Alice gives them both some brownies to make them feel better -The next time Alice needs some help for this particular kind of project, there’s this unspoken agreement that Luther and Josh will have something to do together at this exact moment and oh it’s such a shame, they can’t help her.

-Everyone’s h a p p y -Hank is everyone’s grandpa -He wears this shirt with GRANDPA #1 written on it under all of his clothes -All the androids signed it -He never washes it because he doesn’t want the names to fade -Connor keep asking him to do it tho bc it stinks

I’m cutting that here because it’s so long, part2 (maybe there’s enough for a part 3 too who knows) is coming
