I’m currently texturing the 3D models of Carl’s house for my WebComic, so I figured some people would appreciate the original image files for Markus’ paintings. I dislike that Alice is an android.

ngl in Detroit: Become Human I realllllly dislike that they made Alice a child android. I understand what they were going for and I still like the direction that was gone, but Alice being an android takes away an important perspective; a human child.

What does a human child think of androids? We get a small glimpse of it with the little girl Connor rescues in the beginning from Daniel, but that’s it. We see countless examples of children being cared for by android nannies, but Alice being an android completely nulls that perspective which we assume we received.

It also means that Kara doesn’t get a main focus cross-species relationship in her story. Connor has Hank and Markus has Carl. These were done ON PURPOSE to show that androids are like humans and can feel genuine love not only between each other but with other humans.

So, why does Kara get excluded? Sure, she makes human friends in her story, but Alice being an android takes away focus...focus that should have stayed on the relationship between humans and androids.

Also, if the writers wanted to address the morale questions of android children, they could have done it in a different way. Alice could make friends with what she thinks is another human child but is actually an android child. She watches her android friend get hurt while Jericho is attacked. A human child seeing a being that is her age be mistreated would be far more impactful because of the relation in age.

I don’t know. Like I said, I get it. I understand what the writers wanted to do! But it doesn’t fit the direction of the game. It definitely was a plot twist but that's all it feels like...a twist. Need I remind you that Kara’s story is already interesting all by itself.
