“Aquaman” Star Jason Momoa Wrote A 50-Page Treatment For “Lost Kingdom”

I’ve seen enough interviews with Jason over the years to know when he’s a little more nervous than usual. And considering that Stephen isn’t that great interviewing people he doesn’t know that well, I think this interview went much better than expected. 

Stephen seemed genuinely interested in meeting Jason, and I think it was kind of cool the way the interview starts out a little more awkward and formal in the beginning, and then by the second clip, Jason has clearly loosened up with him laughing and joking with Stephen like he does with a lot of folks.

I’m glad he had a pleasant experience on the show. I’m especially happy that he got to show that he’s more than just a cool dude with a wild side. He took the opportunity to talk about his desire to be a marine biologist when he was younger, and express why he loves writing and the creative process as well.

I think that kind of depth is rarely talked about among his fans, who sometimes focus more on his charisma and looks while paying very little attention to what lies beneath the surface.

2, 7, and 8 for the fandom asks!

2. Initially, I wasn't sure about Zoisite in Sailor Moon being LGBTQ+, but now I think it can be an interesting story element.

7. I love writing non-sequitur openings; it's such a fun and creative way to open a story. You hook the reader with questions and you can just roll on with the story.

8. I hope more people come to appreciate the Snyderverse. It like, there's so much work put into it and it feels like people were ragging on it less because of what happens in it and more because of what it is not. I hope it becomes less hated on in the future or at least people will realize it's existence was not the threat to the characters they seemed to think it was.

I’m gonna do something crazy and argue in favor of Harley Quinn’s costume in Suicide Squad 2016, not because it’s better than her later outfits (it’s definitely not), but because it works perfectly well for her story.

At this point in her life, Harley is firmly under the Joker’s thumb. She’s his arm candy, and her wardrobe reflects that.

The hotpants and fishnet tights, the strategically ripped shirt that was already too thin, the pinup pigtails, and especially the collar with her owner’s name name on it. All of it marks her as “the Joker’s girl”. She belongs to him, and her outfits makes that perfectly clear.

In both Birds of Prey and The Suicide Squad, Harley has moved on from the Joker. She’s taking back ownership of herself, and now dresses to her own preferences and taste. Her outfits are fun and eclectic, and she’s now sexy without being sexual. Instead of the Joker’s, her clothes now have her name on them,

Over the course of the three films, Harley goes from an abusive monster’s trophy girlfriend to a liberated woman, and her costumes reflect that change in her character. We can debate male vs female gaze and sexualization in Hollywood all the livelong day, but that doesn’t change the fact that all of Harley’s outfits are perfect for where the character is in her story.

not to be cheesy but watching batman v superman and seeing bruce, from his lowest of lows, from the edge of moral bankruptcy, pick himself up and change for the better — i remind myself of him everytime i think i'm unsalvageable. although it admit it comes at the cost of loving clark-kent-type characters, the paragons, both attaching myself to them and also making them my ideals. in time i will join them in the sun... in time they will help me accomplish wonders...
