Bnei David’s other co-founder, Rabbi Eli Sadan, preaches against educating women, claiming that independent thinking “neuters their most important capability… to build the home.”

'Seated North African Boy' Roman Bronze Figurine, Saffron Walden Area

The Roman Empire, like the Greek Empire before it, included parts of the Middle East and North Africa, and its population was diverse. This bronze figurine is believed to be a 2nd century CE copy of a Hellenistic (Greek) figure.

The hole in the top of the head suggests that it was part of a larger object, perhaps some household fitting or candelabra for the dining table.

This unusual find is one of many local objects brought to light by the Portable Antiquities Scheme, recording finds made by local metal detectorists and members of the public.

My own personal little spin on Dahl's group of Characters, most likely my versions of the Evil Giants (with the Exception of the Only One out of the Ten) from My Most Favorite Roald Dahl Story of all time, "The BFG". So far, with taking some inspiration from the Cosgrove Hall version, I wanted to make my Giants colorful with BFG being the only exception since he is always describe being different (which I kinda HC that maybe the Giants have Two Different Types of their own Sub-Species in their Land).

"I suggest that represented violence takes many forms and some still have the power to produce change. Conventional TV and movie violence, of course, consists of violence perpetrated by powerful white men often against women or people of color. Such violence is a standard feature of the action genre, of the rock video, of almost every popular form of entertainment, and to a degree it is so expected that audiences may even be immune to it.

On the other hand, violence against white men perpetrated by women or people of color disrupts the logic of represented violence so thoroughly that (at least for a while) the emergence of such unsanctioned violence has an unpredictable power. In recent years, popular texts that prominently feature violence against white men have been thoroughly analyzed by the popular media. So, for example, Ridley Scott’s Thelma and Louise created an unprecedented wave of discussions around the issue of violence and women. Suddenly, violence, and particularly female revenge fantasy violence, was tagged as “immoral,” “extravagant,” “excessive,” or simply “toxic feminism.” Debates raged about whether we really want to condone a kind of role reversal that now pits female aggressors against male victims. But role reversal never simply replicates the terms of an equation. The depiction of women committing acts of violence against men does not simply use “male” tactics of aggression for other ends; in fact, female violence transforms the symbolic function of the feminine within popular narratives and simultaneously challenges the hegemonic insistence upon the linking of might and right under the sign of masculinity. Women with guns confronting rapists has the potential to intervene in popular imaginings of violence and gender by resisting the (liberal) moral imperative to not fight violence with violence. Films like Thelma and Louise suggest, therefore, not that we all pick up guns, but that we allow ourselves to imagine the possibilities of fighting violencewith violence. Women, in other words, long identified as victims rather than perpetrators of violence, have much to gain from new and different configurations of violence, terror, and fantasy."

Here's how l picture Persephone if she ever appeared in Zig and Sharko. Instead of having Disney Princess energy, she is stoic, mature and kind woman who has a perky goth attitude. Think like Angela Lansbury's heroines, Christine Daaé and Mina Harker. Despite her mother's string upbringing and being stoic, her kindness leads to hilariously awkward situations. Hades wasn't popular god like his brother Zeus, but that didn't stop Persephone pitying him and leads to Hades falling in love to her.

On next picture you will see various depictions of Persephone from medias which inspired me to design her.

I really admire when artists incorporate some meaningful thoughts in just random bunch of words, totally masquerading it and when actually discovered gives a whole new different dimension to it.

For instance, when I first heard the below verse from the song 'Starboy' by 'The Weeknd' I thought that these were just some mere arrangement of ultra random words without any internal depiction but after giving it a lotta thought and reiterating the words, found really something cool which I thought I should share.

The verse :

Twenty racks a table, cut from ebony

Cut that ivory into skinny pieces

Then she clean it with her face, man, I love my baby, ah

The interpretation :

Apparently, Abel —his girl now snorts cocaine (“ivory”) off of $20,000 tables made from ebony, an expensive hardwood sourced from rare, endangered trees.

Ivory and Ebony are both valuable materials often presented as opposites, as in the Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder hit. The title of that song actually refers to a piano, which might be the fancy snorting surface Weeknd is referencing here.

The “ivory” is being cut into “skinny pieces” as in cutting the coke into skinny lines. Abel is proud of his girlfriend who is able to “clean” the cocaine (by snorting it) with her face close to the edge of the table.
