Rewrite vs Explore New Areas

Okay, I just asked my husband's thoughts on this but he got a SUPER generic question and wasn't a fan of the story I'm talking about, so I wanna hear from people that actually read my writing.

I have been DYING to write about Belinda. Like. All day.

And I haven't been able to decide if I want to rewrite her story that I finished a couple years ago or if I wanted to write a different part of her life.

Basically, the rewrite would be for Death Has a Face which is about how Ikuisuus recruited her to kill for her and stories about her killing the people Iku assigns to her.

HOWEVER, I also have other aspects of Belinda's life I could cover. Like what she was like before she became an immortal serial killer. Before she became so cold and bloodthirsty.

I could also write something that centers more around their friendship and less on Belinda's killings, which essentially is what the novel I'd started but never finished was about but if I went that route, I'd be started over from scratch.

Do you guys have any ideas which you like most? Or if there's another aspect of Belinda you'd be interested in? I do remember he original stories actually ended with the twist that the world ended and Belinda thought she was going to survive it, but then Iku betrayed her and put her to death with the rest of the world... it might also be interesting to see what happened to Belinda after that.

A scene from my original writing for Death Has a Face where Belinda stabbed her victim in the eye with her heel.

The deal is she's not supposed to torture the people she kills but 🤷🏽‍♀️ she's a rebel, what can I say? xD

Your newest virgil drawing genuinely made me question if I'm attracted to men. I actually had to sit down and take a minute. I've been pretty sure im a lesbian for years and now im just. So 10 Souls is basically just an anthology story about how 10 people died and what their afterlife immediately following their death was like. Pretty similar to DHaF now that I think about it. I definitely have a type when it comes to my writing xD

Paria - Casual

Blending a distinctive fusion of Iranian, Latin, and UK bass influences into her own classification of pop, it’s fair to say Paria’s tones are of the world.

Hindered from full musical expression in Iran, following her move to Oslo, Paria, using her impressive vocal range and superb songwriting, produces a timbre of pop alluringly unclear in its direction, deviating in style track-by-track resulting in a resplendently unchained ethos – her backlash to years of creative obstruction. After banking a fair few hundred-thousand plays on her last two singles ‘Summer Blind’ and ‘Low Blow’, Paria initiates her second move towards her debut EP – ‘Popsicle’.

Secondary swoop – ‘Casual’ – towards the upcoming debut EP, opens with gospel-choir samples accompanied by Janelle Monáe-esque throaty percussion loops and bountiful bass-synth parts. On the DIY feat, Paria envelopes the track with her own soulful multi-tracked vocal parts – a trend we see throughout her production style. Through the fully self-written and produced track we reach a chorus atypical of Paria in terms of structure, deviating away from vocal harmonies and incorporating synthesised traditional Iranian instruments looping on a divan of Dhaf drum samples.

Paria elaborates on ‘Casual’ here:

“I am obsessed with melodies and harmonies, and I actually always overdo it. I record at least 100 vocal tracks per song and then go to just delete most of them, to give listeners a chance to breathe. I recorded the chorus a thousand times but it just didn’t feel right… I found a Vox sample that just blew my mind and used it for an instrumental chorus, which I almost never do, but it ended up being my favorite part of the track!”

“Keeping it casual is good sometimes, people shouldn’t feel the need to rush into relationships and make commitments for the sake of loneliness or traditionalist views of arranged marriage – just like my parents.”

WBW! Which world was your favorite to create? Why? And which element in that world was your favorite to create?

I have so many faves! I loved the NDE world because it combines so many different mythological creatures in one that I changed to be my own...

But I also loved Humanity's Demon for a similar reason (exploring angels & demons)... and that world is also the same as Death Has a Face and my roleplaying world so like................. probably that one? Because the way my friend and I made the creatures on there (like vampires, elves, witches, werewolves, hybrids etc)... yeah, I've got to say that world. It's a lot more delved into, more detailed and has way more diversity with the creatures we've worked on.

As for which element, definitely creature creation & development <3
