Partying was the only way you knew how to take your mind off of the series of woeful ordeals that seemed to always happen to you. Your other remedies? Drugs and sex. To be frank, you couldn’t have one without the other.
When Maddy extended her invitation to tag along with her and her friends to a frat party, you couldn’t help but enthusiastically accept. You partied with them before and enjoyed yourself, so you figured it wouldn’t hurt to join them once again.
Now here you were, occupying a spot on the wall, sipping your drink and scoping the scene. The house was packed with intoxicated college students in their twenty-somethings, dancing the night away knowing that the following morning they have classes to attend.
That was the beauty of university. The fact that if you needed to let loose, you could garner the right connections and ditch your sorrows for the night then bury them.
Maddy and Cassie were singing their hearts to the song blasting on the speakers on top of the table, catching everyone’s attention. The crowd surrounding them was singing along. Until the DJ abruptly switched the song. It was then you realized quickly what you didn’t like about frat parties, you loathed the music they played.
The song was so bad that you quickly pushed yourself off the wall and tried to find the nearest empty bedroom. Clutching your cup, you squeeze you past the living room and snuck into the foyer. A DO NOT ENTER sign was plastered on the glass door that separated the rooms, bolded and in red ink.
Ignoring the sign and quickly glancing around you, you slowly opened the door, and tip-toed through and into the foyer. It was much quieter now that you moved away from the speakers. Your curiosity peaked once you noticed the spiral stairwell, so you walked near the steps and went up to explore the rest of the house.
There were so many rooms in one hallway, you couldn’t pick, but you settled on the third to the right. You didn’t hear any noise when you pressed your ear against the door, and you assumed it’d be safe to go in.
It was a typical college boy’s bedroom, nothing really out of the ordinary. Cartoon posters, and basketball jerseys on plaques hanging above the king-size bed. The desk was piled with textbooks and loose pieces of paper, as well as other miscellaneous office supplies. And although the desk was messy, the floor of the room was surprisingly clean, almost as if the owner regularly cleaned it.
A clean frat boy is, without a doubt, a rare occurrence.
You became so entranced with examining this random person’s bedroom that you hardly noticed the toilet in the connecting bathroom flush. You jump as a figure emerges from the bathroom, and you are met with his slightly startled brown eyes and dirty-blonde outgrown hair.
“Who the fuck are you?” he asked
“Who the fuck are you?” you quickly rebuttal. You realized it was a stupid question to ask, considering that he may or may not be the owner of this room and you invaded it, but you were drunk and high off of two whole blunts. Everything from when you finished your last cup to now was hazy, but not enough to lead you completely incoherent.
“You’re in my room, you’re not even supposed to go past the sign on the door.”
“I’m aware,” you reply, trekking towards his bed and plopping on the edge, “The music sucked so I wanted to get away.”
“You could've gone outside,” he furrowed his brows at you while you ran your hands on the bed.
“Yeah, well, I didn’t…” your voice trailed off as your gaze diverted from the little doodles you were drawing on his blanket and up at his. It didn’t take long for you to notice how dilated his pupils were.
You shot up off the bed and walked closer to him, “You happen to know anybody that can hook me up?”
His eyes stayed on yours as you approached them, and his face went from confused to perplexed at the drop of a hat. A slight smirk ticked at the corner of your lip and you knew you had hit the jackpot.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he said, looking off to the side with a small grin.
You playfully rolled your eyes, “Oh come on, you can’t fool me. I know a plug when I see one.”
His eyes widened shockingly and chuckled at your comment, “Wow, now I’m being profiled by the random girl who snuck into my room asking for drugs?”
“Wow, now I’m being judged by the boy pretending not to be a drug dealer?” you playfully shot back at him, with a tilt in your head and crossing your arms.
Another laugh escaped both his and your lips and you spun on your feet and went back to glancing around the room, “Your room is nice… typical… but nice. And your blanket is fun to draw on.”
“Thanks, random girl who snuck into my room.” you could hear his shoes tapping against the wood floor as he followed you, supposedly making sure you didn’t find what you were looking for.
But apparently, this man could read minds, because when you turned back around he was staring at you with a tight-lipped smile on his face and waving a baggy of white powder in the air, “Is this what you’re looking for.”
You narrowed your brows at him and hummed, “Perhaps… perhaps it is.”
He inched closer to you, a little too close, and toyed with the baggie near your face, “You’re cute.” Was all he said after running the bag across your lips and then walking back toward the bathroom.
“Just cute? Not hot, sexy, beautiful, gorgeous, stunning,” you trailed off.
“Hot? Nobody says that anymore.”
You furrowed your eyebrows, “I do,” You looked around for the bathroom and went inside, watching as he swiftly snorted a line off of the counter, “That was hot.”
He skimmed up at you with a smirk, “Want some?”
“Don’t mind if I do,” you said, entering the bathroom, not breaking the contact that you made with his eyes. They were seductive. Enticing, even. Just the mere glance was enough to send you over the edge. But you kept your composure, breaking the contact when you peeked down at the line that he cut just for you.
A smile etched your face as you plugged your right nostril with your freshly manicured nails, leaned lower toward the countertop, and snorted the contents through your other nostril.
The rush hit your body almost instantly, sending eclectic waves up and down your spine. The feeling was entirely too euphoric to explain, but you knew that you had snorted quality cocaine.
You turned around and glanced at yourself in the mirror, disregarding him leaning in the doorway, just watching you, “You’re creeping me out, boy with no name.”
“Elliot.” He muttered, still watching you.
You spun around and leaned against the counter, “Thanks for the coke, Elliot.”
The room fell silent, all that could be heard was the slight thumping against the floor from the loud music playing downstairs. You were enjoying this quiet, yet awkward sexual tension that filled the air.
It was confusing because the silence normally wouldn't weird you out enough to leave, but for some reason, this silence was reeling you in a different direction. A direction that made your body hot and steamy, waiting for him to touch you with his ring-stacked fingers.
That was put to a halt when your vision started drifting elsewhere and you felt his body moving closer to yours, “I guess we’re skipping the formalities,” you mumbled as he cupped your behind and placed you on top of the counter.
His lips softly connected with the flesh on your neck, “I guess so.” He placed kisses along your jawline and then met your lips. You threw your arms on his shoulders and allowed his hands to roam free along the lower half of your body.
He kissed you with so much passion, that you would've thought you were the love of his life and not a random girl in search of drugs like he had said before.
His hand abruptly latched on the hem of your skirt and slowly pulled it down, but his lips never met yours. You noticed that he was a really good kisser. Good enough to make you mewl when he nibbled on your bottom lip.
His fingers danced along your sides, then between your thighs. He took his thumb and began rubbing on your bud through your panties, causing your breathing to hitch. You leaned your body back against the mirror and watched as he began picking up the pace.
He continued to rub circles on your clit and lifted his free hand to your chin, “Look at me, okay?”
You responded with a nod and a pleasurable moan. You tried to keep your eyes on his but as he continued to go faster and faster, you could feel your legs start to quiver.
“Damn, your moans are cute too,” He said with a smile on his face, “And the face you make when you’re about to cum.”
You felt it coming. You knew it was coming. The closer it was the more your head started to loll backwards.
“I’m about to–”
“I know, baby,” he cut you off and sped up the circular motions his fingers were making on your sensitive bud, “You can cum. Go ahead, be a good girl, and cum for me.”
And just like that, you became undone against his ringed fingers and breathing heavily. Elliot licked his fingers clean and then pulled you off the counter and engulfed you in a tongue-filled kiss.
“I don’t even know your name,” he said when you broke the kiss.
“You don’t have to.”

- Hobes is the type of boyfriend who is laid-back and non-judgmental towards sex workers and their reasons for being in the profession they're in.
- When he found out that you were a dancer, he didn't try to stop you from pursuing your passion; instead, he supported you.
- He's the kind of boyfriend who would be in the crowd, swirling his drink, and enthusiastically cheering for how sexy you are.
- He looks at you with awe and sparkling eyes as you come out on stage in your skimpy cowgirl outfit to perform.
- If anyone were to say disrespectful things about you in the club, he would likely confront them outside and handle the situation.
- Unlike your own family who criticized your life choices, Hobie has always been supportive.
- Hobie would watch you do a quick warm-up in your heels, practicing old dance moves, while sitting on a brown leather couch with his legs spread and swirling his piercing with his tongue.
- The loud crowd is filled with hungry stares and goes wild as you perform, and Hobie just sits there proudly, thinking, "Yep, that's my girl."
- You start your routine, dancing to a song you requested from the DJ.
- Despite feeling slightly nervous during performances, you remember that your biggest fan is out there watching you with pride.
- Hobie doesn't get jealous or insecure when you give lap dances to customers because he knows you're already his.
- You often offer to skip the lap dance portions of your routine, but he insists that he doesn't mind.
- plus He's also willing to protect you if any customers become too handsy, (as I said
earlier he’d fight someone outside the club.)
-he’s the type of boyfriend that confronts a guy outside the club, wearing his Spider-Man suit and calling out the guy's behavior.
-“So you think it’s cool to touch on woman with out their consent bro 🤨?”
And Recognition flashing on the guys face
“yeah.”
shrugging
“so what ? they’re dancers ? If I pay ..I can touch wherever and when ever”
Oop 🫢 hobie deff not letting that slide.
- After handling the situation, he returns to the club and resumes claiming back his seat on the couch, winking at you and encouraging you to continue.
(You don’t have a damm clue in the world what just happened 😕)
- Once your performance is over, Hobie wraps you in his coat, taking you home, but stoping and treating you to your favorite ice cream as a reward.

You barely retained his name. It slipped out of his mouth in such a slur…and you weren’t even sure he caught yours.
But his lips were magic. His hands were magic.
You tried your best to match his fervor; the way his lips mended perfectly against your own; how his hands immediately cupped around your throat so shamelessly. But you were mere putty in his hands, on the verge of melting from his scorched figure and the sweet taste of tequila on his tongue.
You were drunk off more than the liquor. Intoxicated off his entire existence was an understatement.
The world was spinning as soon as you caught sight of him hours earlier. He was the most beautiful human you had ever seen. He seemed to be alone, walking aimlessly through the shambled house and packed backyard. No clue what he was in search of, maybe just the drugs and alcohol like the rest of us.
You felt pitiful for eyeing him that long. Yet, you were grateful to have even been in the same space as him. Even more grateful to have stumbled across this open party invitation. There was no way you would’ve come across him otherwise.
You didn’t know anyone here, not even the host, just that it was his birthday.
That didn’t matter though. What mattered was getting fucked up beyond repair for one night. Just one.
“So are you going to stop staring at me?”
The raspy voice came behind you. Loud enough for you to make out through the deep house music blasting out of the DJs speakers.
You knew it was him, just not certain enough to know how he got out of your sights. Then again, you must’ve let your guard down after being shoved by two people skateboarding past you in the living room.
Turning around was a mistake. The boy you tracked was even more deadly up close.
Despite the raging party lights, you made out his dark brown eyes, albeit pupils dilated beyond belief. His toned arms were exposed from his skull printed tank top, veins branched out in every direction. You didn’t dare scan down any further because your lack of a response in the few minutes since he spoke to you would seem way too suspect.
Meeting like this in the middle of the living room made you feel special, regardless of the fact that he was probably weirded out by your presence.
You still didn’t respond. The better choice was to walk away in the opposite direction towards the backyard. Maybe even jump in the pool to drown your embarrassment.
He didn’t let you escape. Any other stranger that grabbed your wrist without permission would’ve garnered a slap or a scream. But the static shock that surged from it made you freeze and you faced him again.
“Did you hear me?”
“Yes.”
“Okay, soo, what’s your problem?” His equivocal tone made this all the more damning. You didn’t have it in you to explain yourself.
“I don’t know. Just let me go.” Your voice wasn’t convincing at all even though it didn’t need to be. Nonetheless he let go of your hand.
“If you want to get to know me, then just ask.”
That was the last thing you could recall before grabbing his hand and leading him to the patio where all of the tequila lay ready on a table for anyone to indulge in. No other words being spoken during the first half of that ordeal.
The rest of the night was spent shot after shot: the sour taste of lime, burn of the tequila, and warmth brought on by his closeness to you. Your arms were practically touching as you stood side by side, leaned against the table behind you.
“There’s only one sip left.” You held up the bottle close by your face, eyeing him through the clarity of the near empty glass.
“Come here…”
His voice was a whisper as he snatched the bottle from your hand, and used the other to cock your head back. You took it as a sign to open your mouth wide, your tongue laid out and waiting for the waterfall.
That familiar burn happened again as he let the liquid stream onto your mouth from high up, some missing and trickling down your neck.
Even after it was gone, you still kept your head back, eyes closed and smiling to yourself.
Unknown to you, he positioned himself in front and took very little pondering before he reached in and licked your neck clean.
This type of contact was among the first that you didn’t object. In fact, you didn’t want it to end.
In an equal amount of spontaneity, you took hold of the sides of his face and connected your lips to his. The empty bottle crashing on the ground beneath you.
What followed was sloppy, wet, and uncoordinated, with no hint of grace.
You used what remaining self control you had left to ask the very simple question, one that should’ve been asked hours ago.
“What’s your name?”
“Jeno.”

Hi! It’s me 🌚 I had a thought I just had to share. I just finished zooming through all your Frank and Billy stuff (fantastic work as per usual) and my mind decided to work over time to produce this: modern JaceLuke but they have to do a mandatory military service as part of inheriting their titles. They’re supposed to be kept out of danger, but Otto has friends in high places and they get posted to some pretty fucked up missions. Cue them developing the same kind of codependency we see with Frank and Billy. Like can you imagine the angsty power of Jace killing Otto or Aemond the same way Frank does to Rawlins with Billy (Luke) observing? “God damn, Jace. I love to watch you work.” I’m sorry, I love DJ Jace and soft fanboy Luke, but I also gotta feed my need for angst. I know the Frank and Billy dynamic/history doesn’t really match, but I love the idea of modern JaceLuke going feral for each other. They def have the same “us against world” energy that Frank and Billy have. Thoughts??
My lovely 🌚 anon, ur actually so brilliant! JaceLuke, but like a Brank AU??? Genius. Even if we’re just stripping the dynamic down to ‘us against the world’. Certified killers JaceLuke is very funny, but also plausible? Luke already got that dawg in him, Aemond can testify.
I’ve had an idea that’s not necessarily a modern AU, but like a ‘on the run’ vibe, in which the King (Aegon or Aemond take your pick) has placed bounties on the heads of former princes. Aegon III and Viserys II (and possibly even Visenya?) have already been given asylum and secreted elsewhere as legitimate full-blooded children. However, the Strong boys are targets that receive little kindness. Cue them being forced to live on the run and killing whoever tries to stop them, concocting a backstory à la Rickard Thorne and Maelor in the books.
Their simple story (A/B/O time?) for Joffrey’s sake. Jace is his father and Luke is his mother, and should anyone ask, his father is a BETA. Wanted posters would include the fact that Jace is an Alpha.
At first they wander the roads and are easily mistaken for no more than bandits, especially Jace. He is the eldest, and by rights as defended his brothers the most.
On the road, before settling in a small fishing village so Joff can rest a bit easier and Jace can find a job to bring a little money in that doesn’t involve selling stashed (and rather incriminating) family jewelry.
Their saving grace actually is their “common looks” their dark hair and dark eyes make their seemingly unremarkable. Three bits of hay in a haystack.
Small ficlet under the cut
Jacaerys can feel his brother’s eyes on him as he cleans the blood from his seax, a stolen seax, one that Luke had lifted off a hunter that had happened upon him bathing.
His shoulders ache, he’d moved the body. There was no moving the pile of blood that had since soaked into the soil. Another sellsword looking for wealth with the heads of three little princelings.
Lucerys scoots closer, a hand falling easily upon Jace’s knee. Joffrey was sleeping. They’d given him the last of a the roasted hare that Luke had caught a few days prior.
Jace and Luke had found some dried salmon on the sellsword, amongst other things. His brother pushes another salted strip of fish into his hand.
“You need your strength.” He says with earnest brown eyes, teeth catching up his lower lip, “We, need your strength.”
This made the seventh man he’d killed for them. A dagger through the throat. The second one in a sennight.
Luke’s fingers curls into the filthy fabric of Jace’s trousers, ragged nails prickling against his knee in desperation.
Jace nods and takes the fish, tears the leathery meat between pointed teeth - teeth he’d soon need to file if he ever hoped to pass for a beta.
They settle down beside the fire, beside Joff. Their little brother whined in his sleep, instinctively nuzzling towards Luke. Their brother hushes him, rocking Joffrey gently in his arms
“Jace,” Lucerys calls gently, barely a whisper above the small starving fire that subsists on twigs and damp leaves.
“The next one that comes after us - I want do it.”
He sighs against his brothers nape, as he cradles Luke to his chest, and Luke cradles Joff.
“Mother would’ve killed for us,” he says gently, “I should be able to do it too.”
He cannot fault his brother’s thinking. It is true, regardless of how unsavory. Princes resorted to being common cutthroat’s.
“The next one,” Jace agrees, breath visible in the night air. Feeling as Luke shifts gently closer.
Lucerys could have the next mercenary that came their way, it would be his brother’s first kill. Their last kill, however, would be the miserable uncle that had made criminals of them.

THE GRAMMY PROBLEM: MISREPRESENTATION
Tumblr media
Any fan of hip-hop or rap who saw the most recent Grammy’s was likely pretty disappointed by the lineup of nominated albums. While commercially successful, Jack Harlow and DJ Khaled’s projects were critically lambasted for their vapid, generic sound, mostly lacking anything in terms of creative nuance or artistic purpose.
Despite this, these two albums took up two of the five total nominations, in place of a variety of (arguably) more interesting, creatively fulfilling projects from artists like Freddie Gibbs, Denzel Curry, JID, Black Thought and others.
People less familiar with the Grammy’s history may also wonder why incredibly popular artists like Drake and The Weeknd, actively decided to not submit their albums for consideration.
For many POC artists and those in the rap community, there has existed a sentiment of misrepresentation for decades now. Even after becoming the country’s most popular genre since a particular rise in 2016, only two rap albums have ever won album of the year --- Lauryn Hill’s “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill”, and OutKast’s “Speakerboxxx/The Love Below”. The most recent of those two albums released in 2004.
Many rappers, including Eminem, have directly stated that regardless of quality it feels the award show continues to snub the genre as a whole from winning larger accolades.
“For whatever reason, they’re always pitching this hint that you might win album of the year, which used to be a big deal. I don’t think it’s a big deal now.” Eminem said in an interview with Sway Calloway.
Even within the category of rap, there has been continued misrepresentation. Cardi B in 2017 was the first solo female artist to win an award for Best Rap Album, despite artists like Nicki Minaj and others having critically and commercially successful albums in the past.
The institution has also been repeatedly criticized for misplacing non-rap music by POC artists in the rap category, placing Drake’s “Hotline Bling” as a Rap single, despite him essentially singing the entire time and the song feeling more pop-r&b if anything.
Tyler, The Creator, won Best Rap Album for Igor --- largely an R&B, alt-rock album that Tyler himself said was not rap.
Others received no nominations. The Weeknd received no nominations after an incredibly successful release of “After Hours” and the single “Blinding Lights”, which later ended up being performed at the Super Bowl.
Even one of the most grammy-celebrated artists, Jay-Z, has previously boycotted the award ceremony for not providing adequate representation.
The list extends decades from Will Smith in 1989 to Drake and the Weeknd last year. Almost every major hip-hop artist has boycotted the Grammy’s at one time, with a handful of examples being:
Rhianna, Frank Ocean, Rick Ross, Nas, Eminem, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Snoop Dogg --- just about every major name in the industry has expressed disdain or outright boycotted the awards at one instance.
This cyclically hurts the Grammy’s as well: as more artists feel underrepresented, more of them withdraw their albums for consideration (Drake and The Weeknd currently, Frank Ocean in 2017, etc.), causing the award ceremony to have to look elsewhere among the Billboard 100.
When it does that, Jack Harlow and DJ Khaled are pitted against some of the best of the year, like Kendrick’s “Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers.” Artists that have denounced the institution are still desperately awarded by the Grammy’s through features they provided on those out-there albums.
Drake won a Grammy this year despite not submitting any music. The same is true of The Weeknd’s feature on “Hurricane” by Kanye West last year.
To be able to award artists directly, and to regain trust with minority communities in general, something will have to be done about the Grammy’s selection and revision process.
While more information has been shed about the award ceremony’s selection process in recent years, for a long time it was largely secretive. Additionally, industry members like a former Recording Academy CEO have publicly alleged the award show pushes artists it has good relations with as an opportunity to have their nominated songs performed at the ceremony.
I think at this point in time it’s uncertain how much cultural relevance these traditional media award ceremonies will have in the coming years. While this year was technically an increase, the past three years have found the series in some of its lower viewership numbers ever, and anecdotally award ceremonies are beginning to feel more of a “parents’ watch” than my peers. Regardless of the status of the award industry at large, one thing is clear: the Grammy’s needs to seriously re-evaluate its selection process if it ever wants to go from laughing stock to lauded again.
