Sierra Madre location speculation
Shoutout to the time I spent hours in google earth measuring paths from the brotherhood bunker that starts dead money to my theories on where the Sierra Madre could be just cause I thought it was so weird that it took one hour in-game to get there.
Specifics on my theories below the cut cause this post is LONG :3
If we go by the intro slideshow and assume it's within the Grand Canyon, that's 4 days minimum of walking, and that's without any rest AND only if it's even that close to Lake Mead and not farther east. I doubt it's close enough for a less than a week long trip if no one had found it by the time the courier gets there. Max it could take like two weeks, potentially. If we go by the theory it's in the Sierra Nevada mountain range, the trip would be even longer. The closest valleys/canyons with rivers and adjacent mountains cannot be one day trips.
Now it's possible Elijah took teleportation technology from Big MT, but I personally don't think he'd have the chance to get that specific tech during his rampage there. The Think Tank closely guards the transportalponder until they let you leave, and yes this is because they want your leash tight, but I really have no idea how Elijah would manage to gain access to the technology, replicate/steal it, and set it up, and still be trapped by the vault's force fields in the ending where you trap him there. If he had access to the teleportation technology, he'd surely be able to access force field technology, since I think it'd be much less guarded (in comparison).
It's also possible I'm remembering the technicalities of the dlc's ending wrong and Elijah does have access to force field tech, however. I couldn't find the entries about the specifics of the lockdown procedure and Elijah's access to the vault's security on the wiki, but I probably just wasn't looking hard enough.
It should also be kept in mind that Dog might not give himself any rest on his trips between the Sierra Madre and wherever Elijah gets his victims from his unwavering loyalty.
Personally I don't think Elijah would take the time to build a connected transit system of sorts underground just for transporting victims, but again, anything's possible. The man's hellbent, he's already doing just about anything to get in.
We know it's not impossible for the devs to create time between the disembark and beginning of dlcs, (2 weeks to reach Zion, 3 or 4 days to the Divide, like 3 hours I think to Big MT) and it's possible they did intend for Elijah to use some funky tech to get to and from that quickly, I just like [Thinking] ig
So, those are my thoughts. Would love to discuss this/be disproven, genuinely interested in this topic. God I love dead money so fucking much
So in this video about the Far Cry 6 Season Pass, we see Joseph and a “ghost” who looks a lot like Faith:
I can’t tell if she appears to be taller than she was in Far Cry 5 because, like Kim Rye in New Dawn, she needs to be the same height as other characters so the devs can make her interact with objects and people more easily... or if it’s because this Faith isn’t Rachel.
Regardless, I’m glad we’re getting more interactions between Joseph and his siblings (and maybe between the Seed siblings in general) in the DLC!
I just... sincerely hope that the story is good and that no one is out of character.
