have you ever talked about the origins of your sona/her design inspirations before? ive always really loved her design and i like hearing about how nice character designs come to be

here is the full tale

she started off as a mere picrew years ago

and then people drew fanart of that design whenever i started streaming (like this retro mimi model @catastrothy made)

and then at some point i thought "hm wouldn't it be cool if i paid an artist to make her design better" and then i approached noted good local artist @cnmchn and we went back and forth on some stuff and She were born proper

here is some other behind the scenez

hair accessories were considered at one point but then we thought of the ミ earrings and i just colored in one of her streaks black lmao

final design ended up using a combination of outfit elements from our two examples, rip to alt universe skirt spats and kneesocks short braid loose hoodie long shirt ribs mimi (she will be missed) (i should draw that sometime)

uh. riamu failgirl, kumbhira granblue, we almost stole astolfo's haircut sans hair vents (though I think it was actually edward elric who made me think 'braid'), vampy granblue. as for the tenets of her design i just wanted a cute, colorful, energetic, annoying, smug, punchable little beast to match my vibe. her fashion sense is like the complete opposite of mine tho lmao this little freak dresses in this skimpy summery crop top and short shorts getup and shit meanwhile i'm a jeans-all-year and longsleeves/hoodie at all times kinda bitch. at least she still melts in the heat like i do

anyways i figure i may as well dump some silly canon stuff here too:

she's a being from what she says is 'the hell that froze over' (because it sounds cool), in actuality it's probably something more like a frozen-over planet with some level of aquatic life under the ice.

at a base level, she's kinda like... if a slimegirl was a crab? like, she's not made out of slime it's still Meat Stuff but it's definitely amorphous and should usually be contained within a thick carapace on the exterior (so when fully shelled, lookin like some kinda scary lookin pointy bone demon). she claims to have lost hers or that it hasn't grown in yet or some such (hence she only has the horn covering)

anyways. her inside meat being amorphous = limited shapeshifting ability, so she somehow ended up on Earth and is posing as a humanoid and having a ton of fun eating and smoking and breaking stuff. but she still fuckin' hates the sun and heat

1. Your first OC ever?

Tbh I don't remember my very first OC because that was when I was in my teenage years, but the first newer one that I actually drew is Honey! I drew her when I was getting back into art after I said fuck it because my high school art teacher was a pompous dickhead creep that yelled at me in front of everyone for starting to paint on accident instead of doing another step. I was supposed to have her be my Among Us OC with her last name being Pot and how she's frenemies with Pink Crewmate (and she knows who she is 💀). I should redraw her sometime!

ALMIRA "I WILL CUT A BITCH" NERI. I'M A RIDE OR DIE BITCH FOR HER. Like, her design is BEAUTIFUL. I love her lore! It's thorough as fuck and there's other original characters she interacts with that I have yet to know about. And I can do some world-building to intersect her lore and Dji'Vanah's lore!

I ADORE Sarai and Vampy OC from @luciferokisses! You have no IDEA how I had to BEG, PLEAD, CRY, AND THREATEN TO BREAK INTO HER HOUSE TO GET THEM OUT OF THE GODDAMN BASEMENT JUST TO EVEN LOOK AT THEM.

The pink-haired magical girl and the devilishly handsome catboy Otto by @princesseblade are faves of mine too. Especially Otto. I'd willingly let him ruin my credit score. I miss his fine ass. My Mortal Kombat OC Dji'Vanah! Long story short, she's an Outworld assassin that out-classes Kitana, Jade, and Skarlet combined. She goes on a quest for vengance after the Brotherhood of Sin pilaged her home and killed her loved ones. She meets Hanzo and teams up with him on multiple missions before they fall in love! Dji'Vanah's important to me because even though Mortal Kombat and its characters and settings are already established, I really expanded my mind in worldbuilding. What are other regions of Outworld? Do they exist? Who are the citizens? What powers do they have? Did they get taken over by Shao Kahn? What of other factions? What about their cultures? There's so many questions that won't get answered unless you make them. And she's so well-designed that every single artist made her BEAUTIFUL and her hair is versitile! Not gonna lie, I'd wanna meet my Resident Evil OC Christie Belle Silverheart. Girl's a bad bitch but she's really just a softie that just wants to be protected. My Resident Evil OC Christie Belle Silverheart. At first, she was an un-named OC that was just a mere museum tour guide getting a bite to eat after work. She ends up meeting Carlos Oliveira after he saved her life. She's scared shitless but sticks with him and survives using his advice of survival tactics before they end up separating. The OC was on a train to leave before Carlos and Jill meet until shit popped off due to Nemesis fucking around. The OC then comes across a little girl (like how Sherry and Claire meet) and protects her from her parents that got infected from saving their child. The OC takes the girl with her and they survive by hot wiring a nice car and dipping about twenty minutes before the nuke is launched. The OC pretty much adopts the girl and they go back to living at her parents for the time being after having to travel almost across the country to get there. Then like two years later, after Carlos pinky-promised he wouldn't leave the OC in a cold, cruel, Carlos-less world, he coincidentally meets the OC and the kid after trying to lay low from what happened in Raccoon City. Then they really can delve in their feelings for each other. And all that got scrapped for what I got with Christie 💀

So, Arcanum first impressions (cut because I wrote a little too much and there's also a lot of screenshots)

!Spoiler warning but pretty minor! (mentions of HS and SoL)

Gonna start with the best part, the MC ofc

She's such an asshole, definitely the kind of character I love to hate and watch in action, so self centered and cynical, it's beautiful. She's just awful, rude and arrogant to the point where really the only thing that can be praised is her professional success... up until turning into a maid in 1838.

I adore how she's so consistently bad (sure, you can gain Redemption points or be on the High Priestess path, but overall she's still a bitch) and how she looks down on people even when she's at the bottom, because she's lived in such a way to the point where not only is she self aware, but her arrogance is also palpable to other people (at the dinner table, "past" Steltz picks up on the servant's character)

Her attitude is amazing because it's like the whole reason she's going through this and yet-

She's still the same (literally gets teleported to a different dimension or whatever and still thinks about firing an employee jjsoamwoa), self-important and

Mocking (just look at her, I literally scoffed in my head reading her line).

She gave me such strong Rebecca Walker energy from the beginning, but like a younger, less composed Rebecca; starting from the career driven, demanding, loner attitude, to the air of superiority that everybody else picks up on immediately. Or a slightly older, better-tempered demon!Vicky. Although compared with both of them, Selena (or Lilith??) is worse when it comes to socializing (especially with men, which makes sense and is better explained during her walk with Rob, I think, I didn't take screenshots of the moment but I'm pretty sure that's when the whole "businesswoman must be tough or else she'll get trampled" aspect is described, which I can understand).

At first, I thought Selena was similar to Irene, our favorite morally grey girl, but they're pretty different. Sure, Irene is a criminal but she's very much a lovely person: she keeps her promises, is polite unless she has a reason not to be and that reason is usually Gray, is respectful and very compassionate; besides her being a thief, her sly, adaptable and clever nature and her resourcefulness and ability to read and play people are what make her seem like a shitty person, but more often than not she's not genuinely evil and she doesn't do things that could harm others, and she's also a very comedic and charismatic character, making her adorable and impossible to hate.

Selena is a downright bitch tho, who has few moments of kindness sprinkled here and there (that are mostly happening because of circumstances: 1st Redemption point is when she's literally assaulted by a homeless woman, ofc she would give her money to get rid of her sooner, 2nd is when she has to play along as a maid so she doesn't get in trouble... so neither are really coming from a pure place).

Anyway, in fewer words, I love awful women (that's pretty much that entire essay wvwguaqgq) and Selena's character is definitely the highlight of the story (after the first two episodes).

Moving on to the LIs, starting with Robert Steltz, I don't have anything bad to say really, I like his brooding, detective vibe and I like how he's able to read the MC well even in his "other form". There's not really much to talk about, I like him but it's nothing that impressive yet, I'll see how he is later. But he is handsome, even though I liked his modern detective look more.

Now, Liam (whatever his last name is)

My sweet, gentle, caring vampire boy, literally the only one who cares about Lilith, who supports her and stands up for her, who helps her do her job and consoles her. I love him. Literally nothing bad to say about him. Best vampi- man, 24/10

Just... just Liam, that's all🥰

As for the story, it's too soon to tell. I don't hate it or anything, I like the atmosphere and there are a lot of good moments, but I'm not fully caught in it yet.

“Y/N’s Birthday! It’s today! She didn’t tell me!” Her body shook with excitement and giddiness

It was your birthday, yes, but you didn’t want anyone to know. Not because the day had some painful or sad memories, but because you were too socially awkward to tell people that it’s your birthday. And besides, you’ve made peace with the fact that most people in your life just forgets your birthday, to the point where you just felt like it was irrelevant and that your birthday did not exist.

But of course, Alice just can’t let that happen, She refused to. 

“Y/N! Hey!” Alice’s bell like voice echoed in your eardrums as you walked into Forks High

“Oh, Hi Alice. Uhm...Uh? Rainy Weather we’re having?” You stuttered.

I mean, How could you not? Sure you’ve been friends with the pixie and her family for quite a while now and that definitely didn’t help the way your heart just stops and just takes off, running into Alice’s Hands. 

Weather? Really Y/N? Out of all the shit you could have said? You spoke with yourself, forgetting about the resident mind reader.

Edward was about to scold Y/N when he was cut off by the bell, and when they looked toward’s Y/N’s direction, she vanished into the sea of hormonal mortal teenagers

“We’ll find her later.” Jasper reassures Alice

And as Jasper said, They did find you later. Humming to yourself while reading a book in the school library. If they weren’t vampires, they could’ve sworn they couldn’t find you.

“Alice.” They all answered together

“Well that’s not creepy at all.” You teased them before parting ways to go to your last class

Minutes went by fast and soon you found yourself sitting in Alice’s bright yellow car, sweating and nervous. You kept glancing on Alice’s hand that’s resting on the shift lever which caused her to roll her eyes. She grabs your hand, and placed it on the shift lever with her hand on top of yours so she could hold your hand and drive at the same time.

Your eyes widened for a second then you felt your cheeks grow hot.

“U-Uhm” 

“We’re here!” She giggles making you look up and lo and behold, the Cullen house.

“Why are all your lights off?” You ask as Alice intertwines your fingers. 

You noticed how she was barely containing her excitement since she’s shaking and also fidgets alot.

“We decided to let the sun illuminate our home” She grinned at you

“For a vampire, you suck at lying.” You teased her

“That’s not true! Maybe you just know me better than anyone else.” She winked at you

Was she flirting? She was flirting with you? No, that can’t be right? That’s just how Alice is to everyone. Right?

You were about to ask her about it but your thoughts we’re interrupted when a loud pop echoed throughout the room.

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY Y/N!” Everyone in the Cullen Household, including Bella, screams at your face as Emmett releases the Confetti Popper

Your face held visible confusion, How did they know? You made sure not to think about it since you knew about Edward’s abilities. They smirked at your visible confusion and Alice liked it so much she decided to take a picture.

You just nodded and tried to enjoy your birthday. Well, as much as you can with Alice out of your sight. 

“For documentary purposes” She states while grinning and let her adoptive family whisk you away from her.

“If you’re wondering how we know, Alice had a vision of you celebrating you birthday pathetically with only bread and pancakes, so we decided to throw you a party.” Rosalie states as she poured you a glass of grape juice since Esme disliked the thought of you drinking alcohol.

You did admit it to yourself, just a couple months ago, that you indeed have a crush on the pixie-haired vampire. You liked everything about her, her smile, her bell-like voice, her cold comforting embrace, the way she knocks on your door when you miss school, the way she texts you asking if you wanna go shopping with her. Basically, you are completely smitten. And the thought of Alice is enough to make you smile.

But of course, like any other teenager, you decided to just keep your crush in and never think about it again. 

“Y/N, It’s gift time~” Alice suddenly appeared by your side, linking her arm to yours before dragging you away, with Rosalie following you two, barely keeping her smile in.

She pushes you to sit on the couch before shoving gifts into your arms

You cast her a concerned look as you squeezed her hand, knowing she’s having one of her visions.

“That one’s from Bella and Edward!” She says pointing at the medium sized gift.

“This one’s from Rosalie and Emme...” She drifts off, a blank look in her eyes. 

Jasper was the one who continued introducing the gifts to you as he helped you open them, since one of your hands are still intertwined with Alice’s cold fingers as she continued to stare into space.

“Is she okay? Her visions never stretch on this long.” You ask, noticing that 5 minutes have passed.

“She’s fine. I would say she’s enjoying herself.” Edward husks out, a smug smirk settling on his lips

“It’s not fair! How come you could see what she sees! I wanna be a mind reader too!” Emmett whines just as Edward widens his eyes and furiously shakes his head

“I did not need to see that.” He shivered, planting a kiss on Bella’s forehead before speeding off

“What happened?” You asked to no one in particular

“Maybe he saw something he didn’t want to see. He does that to get out of range.” Carlisle explains while he hands you his and Esme’s gift.

“What did you see anyways?” Emmett asked his sister, who’s now staring at you

“You don’t wanna know...” She grinned at Emmett

“...Now come along Y/N. I have to give you my gift.” She pulls your hand as she leads you outside

“Where are we going?” You ask her

“We’re taking a little walk into the woods.” She softly smiles at you and grips you hand

The two of you walked silently, just enjoying and basking in each other’s presence. It looked like Alice was enjoying herself, letting herself go as small rays of sun hit her diamond like skin. You stared at her, willing yourself to look away, but you just can’t. She looks ethereal, the way her golden eyes shine or the way her skin glows or maybe it’s just the way she’s talking to you. Yeah, she’s talking to you and you were barely listening.

“Y/N? Are you okay? You zoned out there.” She waved her free hand infront of your face. 

“You’re beautiful.” You suddenly blurt out. Your eyes widen when your brain finally caught up

“I mean- it’s not like that! Well I do mean it. I mean- You look beautiful like this- I-” You rambled on but stopped when you heard her laugh

“It’s okay, Y/N. Really.” She giggled

“You’re beautiful too.” She smiles before pulling you down to sit beside her under a tree.

You laid your head against hear shoulder, staring at the nest of birds chirping happily.

“I can’t take anymore of this.” She suddenly blurts out, then turns to face you. Her face inches before yours.

“Can I give you your gift?” She whispers

“What?” You whispered back, stunned at how close she is. 

She giggles at you flustered state before cradling your burning face in her cold hands. 

“May I kiss you?” She finally asks, gold eyes meeting yours

“Yeah.” You nodded, in a daze.

Slowly you both leaned in and you were freaking out inside. Was this really happening? Is your crush really about to kiss you? What did you do to deserve an angel?

But all of your worries were silenced when soft, cold lips touched yours in a gentle, surreal way. Leaving your body buzzing with happiness as your heart clenched. Minutes felt like hours, and soon you had to pull away because sadly, humans need air. You stare at Alice’s golden orbs and admired how the stars seemed to swim inside her eyes, or maybe it was just her looking at you in awe. 

I think it’s safe to say that this, was the best birthday gift you could ever have. Even though you had so many amazing gifts like Edward’s Old Classic Book that he wanted you to have, or Rosalie’s Necklace, not even Emmett’s Car Keys. (He restored a car for you) None of them could ever compare to Alice.

The two of you were too busy admiring each other that you don’t notice Emmett handing Edward and Jasper 50 bucks, since he bet on you making the first move and not the other way around, making him whine and pout.

And then suddenly, your birthday seemed really special, to you and your little family. And you just knew, that you’d be this happy for many, many, many years to come.

I arrive at the Summers's home late into the night. If Angel is right and Spike has been here the whole time, I will actually lose my mind. They think I was crazy before they haven't seen anything yet. I will bring hell on Sunnydale. I sneak around back to the backyard, following voices. I stay within the shadows of the trees under the moonlight. On the back porch, I see Spike and Buffy talking. The two are positioned on the steps and Spike places a hand on her shoulder, whispering in her ear. My blood begins to boil in me and I appear out from within the shadows.

"You selfish bastard!" I shout at the bleach loving boy.

Spike and Buffy's heads snap in my direction. Immediately, Spike is to his feet and reaching out to me.

"No, Y/N it's not what it looks like!"

I scoff, yeah, right. Spinning on my heels, I march away. 'It's not what it looks like!' Does he think I'm stupid?

Spike jogs up beside me and blocks my path. He squeezes my shoulder and I roll his handoff.

"Is this Angel's doing?!" He grips both of my shoulders and shakes me. "He's gotten in your head!"

"No, you did this!" I spit back. "Angel was right, you don't give a shit about anyone but yourself!"

I shove him in the chest, causing him to stumble out of the way. I take the opportunity to move past.

"No Baby," Spike insists as he follows me. "No Darling, I love you! You know that!" He grabs my wrists pleadingly.

"Not anymore," I growl at him in disgust. "I don't trust you. I can't trust you!"

Spike clings to me no matter how hard I do my best to get him off.

"I can't lose you!" He practically begs, lowering his face to my level.

I do everything in my power to avoid his gaze, but when he's right in front of me, I can't ignore them. Mere days ago, they brought me such peace of mind and happiness. Now... now they fill me with immense despise and refusal.

"You just did," I remark bitterly under my breath before yanking myself free of him.

"Where are you going?" He calls as I walk away.

"Los Angeles with Angel," I inform him.

I hear Spike's boots hit the ground rapidly behind me. Soon, he's standing before me again.

"No!"

"Tough shit, Spike!" I bark, much to his dismay. "I'm not your girlfriend anymore!"

"Please, please," he reaches up and caresses my cheek. "Don't leave."

His eyes search my face for any sign of hesitation or forgiveness. I can't do it.

"I'm sorry," I place my hands over his own to remove them. "I can't do it. I..."

Unable to finish, I walk away, leaving behind a defeated Spike. I'll never forgive him. How could I be so blind? It was all too good to be true, too convenient. It's far too perfect for the chance that Spike and I to meet and everything would be immaculate. I have to go away, Los Angeles will be good for me. _______________________________________ Being in Los Angeles for the last two days isn't exactly what I had imagined. Angel has kept me, prisoner, practically in his basement of an apartment. He said I couldn't go anywhere until my thirst is controlled. I reminded him I'm not Spike and switched to blood bags a little bit ago. My argument convinced him to let me into his office, Wolfram and Hart, today.

When we arrive at the building, it appears just like any business. If I didn't know what they did I wouldn't think anything of this place. Following around Angel like a lost puppy is rather degrading, I hate it.

"So, when does the 'fun' begin?" I ask the old vampy as step off the elevator.

"You have to meet everyone first," he gestures toward two double doors across the main floor.

The two of us enter the massive office that overlooks the city. A circle of people is gathered in front of Angel's desk, at least I assume it's his desk. Their eyes turn to me with a wide array of emotions. Okay, so they've heard about me. This is awkward.

"Y/N," Angels presses his palm to my back to usher me inside. "This here is Wes, Fred, Cordelia, and Gunner."

I act polite, "it's nice to-"

"Oh well, hello, Baby!"  A third party interjects from behind us.

In a flashy banana yellow suit, a green demon struts toward me. He scoops up my hand with a smirk and plants a kiss on the back of it.

"That's Lorne," Angel states with a hint of disgust in his voice.

"You chéri are just marvelous," Lorne charms.

Angel swats Lorne's hand from mine, making the demon grumble and rub his skin.

"Angel!" A blonde girl marches into the room. You have a call from-"

"Oh, and this is Harmony," Angel points out to him.

The blonde takes one look at me and glares. She's not a fan of mine.

"You for real brought her here!" She fusses, stomping her good. "I thought it was a joke!"

"What's her deal?" I mutter to Angel, eyeing the girl up and down.

"She's um..." Angel stammers nervously.

I roll my eyes, but don't fight Angel on the matter. After I remain still for some time, Angel removes his hand slowly. He gestures to the elevators and I follow.

"This should be fun," I grumble as we wait for the elevator. "Already starting to feel like I'm on vacation."

"Can you at least try to act human while you're here?" Angel request sassily.

"Aye, aye, Captain Normal," I playing salute him right as our ride arrives. "Is this when you start teaching me the 'human-vamp' way?"

"Baby steps," he determines, letting me enter first.

"Baby steps," I mock as the elevator doors close.

"Oh my God..." he huffs under his breath.

"Can we stop for coffee at some point today?" I ask playfully.

"You're a vampire, and it's daylight," Angel refuses.

"I'm a young lady, and I have needs," I point out a matter of factly.

"I should've taken you to a convent and left you there," he gumbles.

"I think I'd catch on fire one step in the door," I tease.

"You're not evil Y/N," Angel remarks, not finding the same humor in my joke.

"No... just incredibly bitter," I keep up my lighthearted mood.

"He didn't deserve you," Angel mutters.

I hate the mere mention of Spike. The thought of him makes my skin crawl, but I can't show it.

"Thanks, I feel loads better now," I remark with a forced smile.

"It will get better," Angel assures as he turns to me. "You could build a life here, work at the firm with us."

"And fight crime like the Marvel comics?" I scoff dismissively.

"Does it sound so terrible?" Angel raises a brow.

"Not per se," I shrug.

I still don't feel all happy-go-lucky at the moment. I'm not exactly ready to plan a whole new life.

"It could be... nice..." he determines, uncertain.

"Yes," I agree as scenarios of my future enter my mind. “I suppose it could be...”

A life in Los Angeles working beside Angel, I never thought I'd envision it. Yet, it could be a possibility, especially now since I have no obligations. I could build a whole new purpose as he said. A life without Spike.

he actually doesn’t mind that they don’t like to talk with others and stuff. he will earn their trust, and then they can be his. he wouldn’t have to worry about others trying to steal them, especially if they don’t want to talk to others

all in all, he’s a bit pushy in trying to kind of.. make them ‘perfect’ in his standards (which isn’t possible, and he knows this, but he likes to make the people in his life a bit better, if it’s possible) 

this would probably include him criticizing some of their reading choices, their sleep schedule, (however i feel like definitely understands being a night-owl)

well.. at first he’s a bit bored with them, but it’s tempting for him to like.. break them and open them up, if you understand. he’s determined to have them come out of their shell one way or another

and honestly that’s pretty much it? they probably wont really catch his eye, or  anything, after all, it is ayato, and he can only notice someone as great as him (cough cough)

that being said, they probably always look like they don’t want to be bothered, which could drive him into wanting to interact with them. he likes to push buttons, and he’d have some fun bugging them lol

if, however, they don’t end up giving him any sort of reaction, kind of just ignoring him all the time, he might just like.. either continue even more,, maybe encouraging a reaction with a nice, vampy suck skdjfhksdfh

well. . he's pretty judgmental. he might like straight up say he doesn't like their face, *if* they somehow ever start talking

i can't really picture him wanting to interact with them, he really doesn't care about others and they don't stand out, which is kind of a positive thing in kanato's eyes

all in all, it could work, his favorite thing about them would probably be their quietness and introverted self.

so, really it’ll take a lot of effort from them, as subaru will just mind his own business, but it can definitely work out, as they sound pretty chill to subaru, anyways

The thing in Guerin’s hand looks like a chocolate bar, of all things,which Alex sniffs, recoiling before he puts down the chocolate, as if it’sburned him. “Someone’s enchanted this,” he says, a look of disgust on his face.“Whatever it is, it’s clearly making the adults of Roswell act like thesimpering idiot children they are.” He looks down at Guerin, shaking his head.“I was a fool when I was younger.”“You were my fool,” Guerin says sweetly. “And I was the luckiest teen in theworld when you kissed me inside the museum and gave me a home for the firsttime.”Whatever qualms Alex might be having about Guerin’s personality reversion, thatclearly pierces through. Suddenly, Alex doesn’t have any resistance as heslides down into Michael’s lap, straddling him as he wraps his arms around hisneck, making out right in the middle of the Pony.“Ugh,” says Liz.“I don’t know,” Maria replies, “I think it’s sweet.”Liz doesn’t want to even think about Guerin as anything remotely close to asexual being, which is why she can’t bear to look at this. It’s lucky thatsomething distracts them almost instantly. “I recognize that wrapper.”Liz could kiss Kyle for the way he distracts her from watching her Watcher makeout with a vampire (it’s like a car crash, she can’t look away). She seizes onhis comment, looking at him picking up a wrapper from the ground. “What? Whatis it?”“It’s the candy from the fundraiser the football team was having,” he says. “Ijust sold all mine to Guerin, because he said he’d buy it all if I shut upabout the football team’s stats and got back to research.”“So we need to figure out where it came from!” Liz is so happy for a lead thatshe could cry. She looks back, trying to decide if she should try and split upGuerin from Alex, but they’ve progressed to dry humping, and Liz is starting towonder if Alex didn’t eat some of the candy after all.The sooner they fix this, the sooner that’s fixed.Though, if they’re married, she has to wonder how much of this happens behindclosed doors and they’re just normally mature enough to know better than to dothis in public.She decides she’s not going to bother dwelling. “Come on, let’s go.”Once they get into their research, it doesn’t take long to turn over a fewstones with the few adults left. Isobel had sniffed with annoyance when theyturned up to her place and asked if she’d eaten any of the chocolate.“If I’m going to break my diet and eat chocolate, it’s for good stuff, notthat,” she says, flicking the candy bar, but squinting at it. “I think thiscompany just bought the warehouse outside of town, though,” she says. “Youmight want to start there. It’s definitely witchcraft,” she guarantees. “I’llbrief the other Watchers and see what we can do about containing Michael.”“Thank you,” Liz says emphatically. “Seriously, thank you.”Once they get to the warehouse, the rest falls into place after some old-schoolspying and eavesdropping. It turns out that a witch with a grudge against theWatchers in Roswell had enchanted the candy, intending to turn her and all herfellow adults into irresponsible idiots while he worked his magic and tried tomake a power grab.Noah Bracken hadn’t been too happy when Liz broke up the coven in the middle ofa spell to amp up the power of the chocolates.“You made me see my Watcher’s nipples,” is her annoyed snap, when Noah asks whyshe won’t let him get away with it. She grabs the bust of Janus that thewitches have been channelling the spell into, smashing it to the floor in athousand little bits that shatters the spell just as quickly. She’s not sure what to do with a witch, but she doesn’t get a chance to figureit out.  Noah and his coven flee in thechaos before she can call Guerin and ask for help. Given the derision on Noah’sface when she’d mentioned Watchers, Liz suspects that it won’t be the last theysee of him. Maybe next time, Liz won’t be so traumatized as a result of his revenge scheme.*The next morning, Guerin’s back in the library. He’s wearing a turtleneck and apair of sunglasses, scowling like the crotchety old Watcher Liz knows andloves. “Had a fun night, Mikey?” she asks sweetly, teasing him with a name thatshe knows he despises. She leans over to flick at the turtleneck a little.“Maybe a little nibble or two got you on the neck?”“How much do I have to pay you to never mention what happened again?”Liz shakes her head. “Trust me. After today, if we never talk about it, I’ll bethe happiest slayer around. Now, can we please go back to killing things thatgo bump in the night instead of you bumping them in your Chevy?”That is the absolute last she’ll say about it, she swears.Or maybe it comes up once more, because when Alex turns up to talk about thethreat of the coven in the town, he’s not wearing a scarf, which meansshe sees all the marks on his neck. “I didn’t know vampires could bruise from ahickey,” she blurts out, forgetting the whole ‘moving on’ part.Alex stares her down, unflinchingly. “My husband has very determined teeth andI’d like to never talk about it again.”“Next time, wear a scarf,” Kyle complains from where he’s buried his face in abook. Guerin smiles at Liz as he wraps his arms around Alex’s neck from behind,nuzzling one of the marks as he whispers something against the cool skin thatshe suspects might just be, I love you, I’ll take care of you, I’ll make itall up to you.Just this once, she’ll let him have it without teasing him relentlessly. Tomorrow’s a new day, though, and there’s plenty more to tease him about then.
