Danny is ghost king and he is not vibing with it. In this whenever he transforms the crown is visible to everyone. When he is human he’s the only one who can see it. The glowing green annoys him.

It doesn’t help all his rouges give him a hard time and would rather laugh at him then help. So Danny does his own research. He is not good at it.

He does stumble across a certain soul seller. Maybe he just overheard the name maybe from someone who got a sliver of the soul.

Danny hasn’t been able to sleep from the bright green glow from the crown and is quite desperate. The most logical solution is obviously collecting all the soul parts and making this John guy help him. Dude must know a thing or to about the occult.

John was in the middle of a forced justice league meeting when a green portal from the afterlife opened up and the new king appeared in front of him. The new king was a literal child.

Danny just goes i own your soul now. Want it back tell me how to turn the crown off. He grabs the crown chucks it just for it to appear over his head again. Danny is oblivious to the table of superhero’s hearing him complaining about the lack of sleep he’s gotten.

going INSANE. what is he thinking. why did he say this. why does he do all of this. i am thinking so hard.

we know he's seeking arceus to recreate the world bc in his eyes the world is cruel and unjust and it needs to be destroyed and remade. he's set himself on a mission to create the better reality he's envisioned for his whole life.

but everything else he does. the way he spends his time on pasio making people smile with togepi. even if he justifies it as something purely transactional to get more customers, we know he doesn't really take his merchant job seriously. the way he loves his pokemon so much that they will pop out of their pokeball to excitedly tell whoever will listen how much they love volo back. him trying to capture these moments of happiness tangibly because they never last long and can be wiped away any second.

he still hangs onto hope so much despite what's implied to have happened to him. in spite of all the anger and bitterness that's festered in him, he doesn't really want to destroy everything as he says.

it all started with a wish for the world to be a better place, for the good in the world to outweigh all the cruelty. he's still trying to spread what happiness he can.

but at the same time his past drags behind him and reminds him that he can't afford to trust in the goodness of the world.

that self-assigned mission to usurp arceus's power and rewrite everything.. to him, it's his duty now. he has to do it for himself and, as he rationalizes to himself, for the world.

so he ignores the flaws and holes he finds in his own reasoning. he can't help but seek out the brightness and happiness and goodness that does exist in the world, yet he has to dismiss it to justify his goals.

... all this to try and explain to myself why volo's asking all these questions and making all these comments that seem to go against what we'd expect given his ulterior motive and plans. and it's like he's asking the few friends he has to remember him as the one who seeks joy, even when he does the worst to fulfill his dreams

Being asexual and possibly aromantic but also being a huge shipper and hopeless romantic is such a wild experience ngl. Me explaining in terms of strictly how I read canon I think Nahida not severely punishing the Sages is just meant to convey that Nahida, even when wronged, is not a very vengeful or harsh person and makes the choice to be kind instead, but in my mind I have this idea of a Nahida interpretation which elaborates on that where her self punishing tendencies extend to her being someone who internally downplays her own experiences constantly, and as a result has a hard time feeling she’s allowed or justified in placing a lot of blame on the Sages for what they did to her So while she is following her own philosophies regarding teaching lessons/wisdom/etc in how to handle the Sages and genuinely doesn’t want to be really angry or punishing because of who she is as a person, her decision is also influenced by the fact she’s basically blocked herself out of grappling with how to handle people who hurt her by blaming herself for said hurt instead as a coping mechanism. And like this is all just me being insane about Nahida Trauma and not something explicitly implied in canon but also I really do think this isn’t a far stretch from her canon characterization especially when my vision isn’t to conclude that Nahida needs to be angry and vengeful but she should extend the kindness she shows others to herself and also every day I get tormented thinking about she was the mental equivalent of an average human child when the Sages found her and how they basically specifically discarded her for being a child and the idea of how Nahida would pick up on + internalize that and eventually need time to unlearn it

Lack of communication by "W"

I can’t really form many coherent thoughts yet but I’ve been thinking about one classroom scene at the beginning of Ep 5, where Wille is distracted after visiting the Palatset and imagining Erik participating in the initiation. I was distracted at first too but then noticed Henry and Valter referring to a "W" in their presentation - my mind immediately made a connection to Wille.

It left me wondering what significance their presentation on George H.W. Bush relating to rhetorical analysis has on our characters. Last season, in this class the Karin Boys assignment became a tool through which Wille and Simon could express their feelings and show understanding for one another’s viewpoints/positions.

Valter and Henry's slide/presentation is titled "Jag säger ingenting. Så har jag ingenting sagt." (I don't say anything. So I haven't said anything)

Their final remarks go:

One could say W’s lack of communication itself became rhetorical.

But the questions remains, “Was this a conscious strategy by W?”

It probably wasn’t, in his case.

Or he just happened to be in the wrong place, and chance decided his place in world history.

Who knows?

The lack of communication on Wille’s part about his feelings IS a statement in itself, even though it probably isn’t a conscious decision by Wille.

Um actually I have something more to say about Kabru and Mithrun’s similarities and relationship.

I think a lot abt how it’s shown a few times how elven culture relies heavily on non-natural ways of doing things, and it’s interesting especially how like our main cast repeats multiple times the three steps to living a long and healthy life. Meanwhile the canaries, the elves, don’t necessarily recognize that stuff as important as it is. I think specifically of the example of Mithrun explaining to Kabru that he has to have medication or a spell otherwise he can’t sleep, to which Kabru tucks him in and gives him a massage which knocks him out cold. His dependency on other methods to fight off insomnia were kinda just in his head, he hadn’t tried anything else. I mean prior to joining the canaries he was fully restrained 90% of the time so ofc a servant would just come in and place a spell for him to sleep every night. And he was like that for years. And then Cithis just replaced all his caretaker servants, then it became her job to make sure he took a pill or listened to her bells every night. I think there’s something there about how there’s a list of stuff Mithrun wasn’t allowed to be around and when he gets separated from the canaries he encounters all of that since Kabru doesn’t know to “protect” Mithrun or restrain him so severely. And it’s interesting because Mithrun doesn’t even seem to have issues with the things, like ofc top on the list was he wasn’t supposed to see goats or sheep. One of the first things he and Kabru eat is barometz. Its something to me that Kabru, who has also suffered so much, takes Mithrun into this dungeon and he has to face head on what’s been bothering him, he has to look his trauma in the eyes. And eat it. He cannot move on until he sees it, understands it, and finally starts talking about himself (“the last desire I had left wasn’t revenge, I wanted the demon to finish me off” “I was scraps left on the plate […] I guess vegetable scraps have their uses too”)

It just seems to me like a more vague and overarching way we see the elven cultural mindset hold him back from properly healing, I don’t think Kabru knew what he was doing at all but the fact of the matter is no one was filtering Mithrun’s view of the world anymore. And while Mithrun believed that didn’t matter to him, nothing mattered, it still made a difference. He was still on the path to moving on, and properly healing, even though he didn’t quite recognize that.
