#DON'T GIVE KATSUKI OFA DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT

Note
Wait pika do you really mean don't ask you about predictions? Some of my favourite Tumblr posts of all time are your thoughts, theories and predictions! :((
Please sleep also, but when you can let us know what's going on in that head of yours. I'm desperate for someone with a brain cell to discuss this chapter! (Twitter is a cesspit)
I mean, you can ask lol. I just sometimes get these vague "any predictions?" asks and it's like, YES. YES I HAVE SOME. BUT IT'S FAR TOO MANY TO JUST LIST LIKE THAT, CAN YOU PLEASE BE MORE SPECIFIC?
Okay, I'll tell you about my thoughts.
Tumblr media
This is a new frame of the scene in chapter 1. This perspective doesn't exist as a drawing in chapter 1, but we know pretty easily what this scene was about. Why is Horikoshi putting the scene here though? Why does this scene have the line "Let go of One For All"? Why not draw Kudou saying it, or Izuku's reaction to it? Is it because this is a memory of the scene where Izuku receives OFA, so giving OFA up is coming around full circle to this moment again?
I don't think so.
This is not the moment where All Might proclaims "you are worthy of inheriting my power" and Izuku looks up in shock. This is the moment where All Might says the words Izuku has longed to hear his whole life: "You can become a hero."
We're coming back to this moment now because the emphasis is on Izuku's upcoming choice. This is about the MEANING Izuku places in OFA. All Might told Izuku "you can't become a hero without a quirk," then shows up to tell Izuku he can become a hero...by giving him his quirk.
To Izuku, letting go of One For All is sacrificing his greatest dream. He believes by giving up One For All, he can no longer be a hero. Even though there have been moments where All Might let on that the reason Izuku deserves to have OFA is because he's already a hero, Izuku never seems to internalize that answer. He thinks his heroism is tied to being the bearer of One For All.
No one has ever told Izuku he can be a hero without a quirk.
I said before I had a big guess about why Katsuki's memory was wiped at the end of Heroes Rising. Notably, he is allowed to remember most of what happens. His memory cuts off from the moment Izuku passed One For All onto him. Do you remember what Katsuki said after he got OFA?
"This is the end of your dream then, too, huh?"
That's the last thing he ever says on the matter. Sure, it's the moment where Izuku answers with "It's okay if it's you" and all that, but Katsuki never responds to that. We don't know what he's thinking about this moment.
The only clue we have is the fact that he accepted the quirk from Izuku, and how he reacted to that. He seems quite upset by the prospect, but in the end he relents and accepts OFA willingly.
Perhaps the issue he is grappling with in his heart in these moments is not the fact that he has to inherit OFA but that Izuku has to lose it. Which means...the reason he loses his memory is because his reaction is important. It's a moment we will have in the manga, which makes it a spoiler.
We've never heard Katsuki tell Izuku what he thinks of quirklessness now. All he's ever told Izuku is that way back when, he thought it meant Izuku was supposed to be beneath him. He doesn't even tell Izuku why he felt like somehow Izuku was actually above him.
Tumblr media
He's also only ever told Izuku his actions were correct ever since he received One For All, nothing about before.
Tumblr media
I think Katsuki's reaction to Izuku losing OFA--which could come before the final battle or after--will have to be about his feelings regarding Izuku's quirklessness. I think Izuku is going to be incredibly hurt by losing One For All because he'll think he has lost his dream, and Katsuki is going to have to set him right, because only Katsuki knew who Izuku was before he had One For All. All Might is the only other person who had at best a glimpse of Izuku.
I think Katsuki has been coming to terms with just how special Izuku is, how heroic he always has been, and that he's the only one capable of acknowledging it in a way Izuku will be able to hear because he knew Izuku before he got One For All. I think he's been grappling with this possibility ever since DvK2.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I think he grapples with it again in Katsuki Bakugou: Rising.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the same way Izuku saw something great in Katsuki that he wanted to cling to so he could see what Katsuki would one day become, Katsuki has always seen something great in Izuku, which awed and scared him. Their greatest divide was in not knowing what greatness the other saw in them. Katsuki has to tell Izuku what Izuku is to him.
Katsuki has to tell Izuku the words he's always wanted to hear, that he can be a hero, quirk or no, that Izuku always has been a hero, more than anybody else. Katsuki knows the truth of it firsthand.

So before the next chapter translation/recap drops, I wanted to ask what you think of Bakugo very likely being AFO's final opponent? I didn't really see that coming. The rival is always there, but they usually team up with the MC for the final fight or aren't part of it (Vegeta during all the DBZ saga final villains, Sasuke at the end of Shipuuden). AFO isn't even Bakugo's personal villain, like Dabi is Todoroki's and Himiko is Uraraka's. I'm trying to wrap my head around it so it's more satisfying, but while it's REALLY AWESOME, I'm not feeling the *personal* stakes and ngl I spent half the time wondering if Deku would swoop in. I'm guessing he won't, final battle Shigaraki vs Deku, but yeah.
I think it's an interesting subversion of the usual final boss tropes. it's true that AFO and Bakugou don't have much in the way of personal history. they lack the tragic family ties of Dabi and Shouto, or the frequent homoerotic encounters of Toga and Ochako. Horikoshi clearly went a different route here.
that being said, there are a few things I do like about the setup. first, I really like that Bakugou chose Kid For One to be his final villain (and then inverted things on top of that -- you're not my final boss, I'm your final boss, lol). it's very much in line with his usual stubbornness and singlemindedness. everyone else -- Izuku, Shouto, and Ochako -- were sort of unwillingly dragged into their conflicts by fate. but Bakugou wanted a final boss so much that when life didn't conveniently hand him one, he went out and DEMANDED one. literally DIYed his own. that's the most Bakugou thing ever tbh.
second, I like the recurring theme of AFO creating his own demons. he's so powerful that the only thing that can bring him down is his own hubris. he accidentally created OFA by trying to dominate his baby brother. he tormented the OFA users for centuries only to be mutilated by a royally pissed-off All Might. and he has been snidely dismissive of Bakugou on multiple occasions throughout the manga, which is certainly looking like one hell of a mistake right now. not just because he missed the opportunity to kill him off on earlier occasions, but also because we all know that the more you ignore Kacchan, the more determined he is to prove you wrong.
third, I like that AFO is the one who apparently has personal trauma and not the other way around. even if the extent of his trauma is just, "you look like the guy I really hate!!", lol. it's unexpected and mildly amusing and I enjoy it.
and lastly, while I'm probably not super qualified to weigh in on this (seeing as there's a big chunk of the Deku vs. Tomura/AFO fight which I still haven't read yet, so I don't know how much ground has been covered already), I'm not so sure that this is the actual final battle. as you mentioned, those usually involve the rival teaming up with the MC against a single final villain. and neither Tomura nor Kid For One is giving me genuine final boss vibes tbh. I think AFO, and not Tomura, will be the final "final boss", but I'm guessing it will be a different version of AFO. either the AFO currently taking up residence in Tomura's head, or, potentially, the one possibly hanging out in Deku's.
either way though, that also means the final phase of this battle will likely take place not in the real world, but inside the OFA/AFO Mojo Dojo Casa Realm. and I think it will be Deku, Katsuki (since I'm convinced he also has OFA), and Tomura (plot twist) united against AFO. which I think would make for a much stronger final battle than the current setup. we were promised an ending which would surpass Heroes Rising in epicness, after all. a simple Deku vs. Tomura would hardly cut it, especially with Deku having already pushed himself to his limits and revealed all of his current OFA tricks that we know about. gotta be more to it.
so yeah, those are my thoughts. I'm enjoying the current antics, but I do think they are miniboss antics and not final boss ones. any finale that doesn't involve multiple OFA users teaming up against a single AFO wielder is going to feel a bit like it missed the point. it's literally in the name, lol. we need the "all" versus the "one", or else all that foreshadowing goes to waste. that's my hope at any rate.

OKAY SO ABOUT THESE PANELS
ignoring the fact that is gay as hell, I wanna talk about the glowing lights. I think there’s two possibilities for what it represents:
One for All, or All Might’s legacy as the symbol of peace
We have already seen OfA represented by light before, but never in a white ball like this. It seems strange to switch visual motifs so abruptly when the usual pointed stars could've worked just the same. Which brings me to the other option, and the page near the beginning.
Tumblr media
That ball that All Might picks up has the OfA sparkles! It's the only one that does in the street he's walking along. If the orb itself was meant to represent OfA, I don't think it makes sense to have it surrounded by other orbs.
What feels more likely to me is that it is the responsibility and legacy that comes along with being the holder of OfA and symbol of peace. That's why there's the OfA sparkles around it. This is an "end of an era" not because the passing on of the orb means All Might is dying and finally giving up the last of OfA that resides within him, it's the end because he is passing that legacy on to Izuku and Katsuki.
In conclusion: I think it's the legacy.
More thoughts about these panels:
As much as I think it would be really interesting to see Katsuki use OfA, I just don't think the narrative is headed in that direction. I think he will be connected to it, through the vestiges, or more symbolically, but not in the way to where he's sharing it with Izuku. At this point, all it would serve to do is make him even more powerful (when he is perfect on his own) and take away a lot of the interesting part of the dynamic between him and Izuku.
This next part is just me kind of coping not gonna lie:
Although the title, his battle with AfO, and the way the last panel is positioned makes it seem like this is All Might dying, it doesn't feel right. We had all the panels of everyone watching All Might, lending them their support, and then gradually losing faith. Now, Katsuki is back, and there's the perfect opportunity to do a full circle. He would go from being the person who ended All Might to being the one who saved him. Killing All Might before Katsuki even had a chance to do that would just feel upsetting and strange.

So that translation was... something. A good one? Well, that's up for debate. Personally, I think that it's a bit iffy, and decided to make a post about why I think that way along with my own personal translation of that scene (you know the one) (disclaimer: I am by no means fluent in Japanese so take what I say with a grain of salt and please, for the love of god, correct me if I get anything wrong)
Tumblr media
So before I get into why this isn't a good translation of the Japanese version, I just want to say that even when you don't consider the Japanese version and just look at what's being said in this panel, it doesn't make a lot of sense for Katsuki's character to be saying something like this at this point in the story. Like, it sounds like he's saying "OFA isn't strong enough to stop you but my quirk is" and it's just insinuating that he believes he's on par, perhaps even stronger and more capable than OFA. That itself seems like something a very early bully Kacchan would say, and it just takes away a lot of his growth. I refuse to believe that current Katsuki "Izuku will I reach you someday?" Bakugou thinks that he's still above and better than OFA. Making him say something like that to me just seems like all his growth has been thrown out the window. Now moving on to the actual translation, I'm going to break down the Japanese for you guys and explain how I got to my own translation:
Tumblr media
Okay, so after using a Japanese keyboard, this was the kanji I extracted from the page to use: "OFAに拭えねーもんは こつち で 拭うつてな ぁああ!!!"
So if we break down the first line, we can see there are four parts to it: OFA, に .... は,  拭えねー, もん (OFA, the particles, the verb, the noun) Now, I'm not exactly sure what the particles do in this context, and I don't want to feed anyone false information, so I won't be touching on that. However, the verb 拭えねー (nuguenee) is a negation that originates from the base (nuguu) 拭う which means to wipe. It can also mean 'to get rid of', which I think better suits this context so we'll go with that and make nuguenee mean 'can't get rid of'. Finally, the noun もん (mon) can be used as a word to say a thing or object. So when you put that all together, the sentence 'OFAに拭えねーもんは' roughly translates to: "What OFA can't get rid of (handle)"
Moving onto the next line: 'こつち で 拭うつてな ぁああ!!!' Once again there are 4 parts to it: こっち (Kocchi) which means here when talking about a place in close proximity to the speaker 拭う (Nuguu) which means to wipe or get rid of in this context
なあああ (Naa) which can be used when you express what you feel or think
And the rest are particles, which, once again, I won't be touching on
So what do we get when we put this all together? こつち で 拭うつてな ぁああ!!! = 'I'll get rid of (handle) right here!!!"
So the full translation? 'What OFA can't handle, I'll handle right here!!!' Now, I know that my Japanese is by no means amazing and that I probably made a few mistakes along the way... but I do feel like Katsuki saying something along the lines of 'what OFA can't handle' instead of 'OFA couldn't keep you in the ground' gives Izuku a lot more credit and makes it seem less like Katsuki thinks lowly of him and more like he wants to help out. Okay okay. So now you may be wondering why I used 'handle' when translating the verb (拭う) nuguu into english after I told you that it means to wipe/eliminate. Well, let's take a look at the apology scene, particularly the bit where Kats tells Izuku 'we're here to step in when you can't handle it all on your own'
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you haven't noticed it yet, nuguenee (拭えね) is used here to mean 'can't handle' as well. I'd like to think that Horikoshi deliberately chose nuguu as the verb to mean to handle in this most recent chapter to be a callback to the apology and Katsuki following through with his promise. It makes his apology feel even more genuine than it already was because he's following through on his words. That's the part I'm most upset about. The English translation has no callback to the apology when Horikoshi deliberately made the stylistic choice to use that specific kanji for the sake of having it be a reminder of Katsuki's growth and development/that chapter. It's a shame that the English translation seems to have the opposite effect.
But those are just my thoughts 🤷‍♀️ let me know what you think!!

Characters with wasted potential : shota aizawa (rant)
Look I first got into the series because of the idea of dadzawa but now i can confirm that it is just a fanon concept that people made(one that I wish was actually true). I have many problems with Aizawa's character that hori never really focuses on:
HE IS A BAD TEACHER. It is without doubt that aizawa shota is cannonically a horrible teacher who clearly favourites students like bakugo and shinso while clearly treating other students like izuku unfairly. One of the things that makes him a bad teacher is the whole expulsion thing. Something like that is very big as it completely ruins a perfect record which can ruin lives AND CREATE VILLAINS. Even his old students fear him and have a bad impression of him which doesn't help the "oh dadzawa" or "aizawa is a good teacher stuff". Shota can and will protect the students but that's it in terms of teaching his students something and taking care of them he rarely does that.
THE WAY HE INTERACTS WITH OTHER CHARACTERS. Iam talking about both sides here. He favours bakugo and goes to extreme lengths to defend him even though the public actually have a point and even nedzu states that the reason that they kidnapped Katsuki was because of his behaviour. It then makes no sense for him to keep on criticising midoriya instead of actually doing something and helping him handle OFA (he is one of the best teachers to help him with combat and his quirk) even if he doesn't know about OFA specifically he can still train and help midoriya which he never does or never offers. The only time we see him train a student it isn't even someone from HIS OWN CLASS which adds to the whole he looks like a bad teacher.
HIS BACKSTORY. Let's be honest the whole oboro and kurogiri thing had potential but it's all their just for shota and to make him a lot more sympathetic. It's literally Horikoshi's way of giving us a reason to justify shota's on paper expulsions and why he is so distant which doesn't work. His backstory had potential but was dealt with the wrong way to the point where later in the series all that shota is reduced to is the nomu oboros friend.
HIS INCONSISTENCY. Eraserheads character is very inconsistent like he goes from being this bad teacher who threatened to expel any student for coming last on a test and not showing heroic potential to him somehow forging yuuga for being the traitor and sympathising with him?!?! To me this development kind of comes out of nowhere especially when you realise that he KNEW he treated izuku badly and THEN PROCEEDED TO NOT APOLOGISE AT ALL?!!!?!?!. There are many other things inconsistent with his character like the way he treats all might and his friends like istg midnight is your friend so why you shutting present mic up for being angry and grieving midnights death?!!?!!
Honestly, I don't think Aizawa was supposed to come of as a bad teacher and a bad person but because of Horikoshi's writing it came out that way which is sad. I think horikoshi wanted him to be something similar to kento nanami (jjk) and hatake Kakashi (Naruto) but that didn't work out as seen here. You can improve this by:
Making him a good teacher. Show him reading his students files and trying to learn more about his students before meeting them which would help with his introduction scene where we see him waiting outside of the class to see how everyone is settling in. Have him use his rational deceptions but not make the consequences something huge like expulsion ( a transfer or a visit to the principles office would have the same effect). Let him acknowledge bakugos behaviour and have him call out stuff he sees. It makes no sense to me why anyone espe shota who got bullied by someone just like bakugo likes and constantly defends bakugo. HAVE HIM ACKNOWLEDGE/ LEARN MORE ABOUT HIS CLASS; he should know stuff like how secretive and closed off shoto is or how unusually aggressive bakugo is. Have him give actual concequences to his class that make sense like with mineta and bakugo they should of been dropped long ago or at least been sent to nedzus office so he can deal with them. FOR A GUY SO LOGICAL SHOTA DOESN'T SEEM TO DO ANY OF THIS!!!
Change the way we see him talk to and interacting with different characters. Iam all for having him be someone closed off but someone who still cares because that's the something that the narrative tries to do but fails at. The narrative also tries to make him as this guy who is scared to form real bonds as a trauma response to what happend with oboro but ironically he always ends up caring and trying to protect people in his own way which is an interesting plot point but fails. I would be content in keeping both of those plot ideas as a part of his character however, to do that have him not have any FAVOURITES and just slowly/unconsciously have him build bonds with the students in his class (can start to happen after the usj) and for shinso have him build a bond after shinso manages to get into the hero course. When it comes to him talking and interacting with his students keep him blunt and have him point out flaws but also give ideas and help into how to actually FIX THE FLAWS. This could lead to him trying to help izuku with his quirk situation and actually teach him quirkless combat (which is something CANON IZUKU SHOULD OF HAVE LEARNT!!!) From then we can see aizawas perception of izuku slowly change and he slowly starts to understand his student and realises the uncanny similarities they both end up sharing. When it comes to him interacting with teachers have him at the start feel like he doesn't fit in and be distant but slowly with the help of his friends present mic and midnight he starts to open up to the UA staff and we can get him develop a little rivalry with Vlad (I know a lot of people say it exists but it's quite one sided with just Vlad being competitive) Iam not saying aizawa should be extroverted and competitive but still be petty and uphold a bit of the rivalry in his own way. When it comes to his friends I think with them he should be close but also have this irrational fear of losing his friends ( actually have him realise and try to teach the dangers of heroics). With all might I feel like he should respect him as a hero and what his goal is which is to teach heroics to the younger generation ( he still doesn't know about OFA until way later ) but have him as someone who has been teaching for a longer time period give constructive criticism and sympathise a bit cos let's be honest teaching a group of overpowered kids is tough.
Have his backstory focus on him and his friends. When reading the vigilantes manga and just looking at the main manga you can clearly tell that the whole backstory of oboro and the kurogiri situation is just there for aizawa and no one else which is such a shame considering it ruins all the characters that are involved writing. Throughout the reveal, we should of focused on the whole rooftop trios reaction as a whole and not only on aizawas we should of seen them try and take comfort and confide in eachother ,we should of seen their own regrets and suffering while giving all the characters screen time to show that. Also aizawas backstory doesn't make sense considering how he goes on to favour bakugo even though he was bullied by someone like bakugo so have him actually follow his backstory and maybe as a teacher empathise more with Izuku and try and help whatever nonsense pos is on.
It's such a pity that aizawa (one of Horikoshi's favourite characters) has so much wasted potential and could of been a great teacher that tried his best to teach and protect his students but because of the inconsistencies in his character and his actions all of that just FAILS horribly.

Hi 👋, I hope you had a merry Christmas or happy holidays (if you don't celebrate) but I wanted to ask you what do you think is so outrageous and weird about bakugos quirk. To me I don't understand his quirk at all and some of the quirk awakenings he has dont make sense to me like all I know is that his quirk is supposed to secrete sweat that is nitroglycerin that makes explosions and that's it so I don't get how that goes to him somehow being resurrected from the dead by his own quirk. Also it doesn't make sense why hori would give him more awakenings considering how already powerful his quirk his and I hate the idea of katsukis quirk changing or being more powerful is be abuse he shares OFA with Izuku like I know his eyes changed but if that's true then idk what hori is on icl.
Tumblr media
You pretty much nailed what his quirk is supposed to be. For me, the most BS thing about his quirk awakening is that it somehow works even when he’s dead. Not only that, but he somehow managed to heal all of his injuries (his broken arm, hole in his chest, etc). How the hell does one go from exploding things with their palms to resurrecting themselves?

If you don't mind me asking, can I ask your top 5 (or top 3) favorite characters from BNHA? And why you loved them? And your top 5 favorite moments from the series? Sorry if you've answered this question before....Thanks....
My faves, I've been asked a few times so I'll be light on explanation, but, honestly, I'm liable to switch up depending on whatever I just read or watched.
Tumblr media
Katsuki Bakugo - I just expanded on this but I just generally think more people could give more grace to the traumatized little demon child who has, for reasons against his will, largely been put through trials not only as Midoriya's rival but also as a potential love interest (re: damsel in distress trope)
Izuku Midoriya - I kinda touched on what makes Midoriya interesting but realize it's kinda in the context of the chemical reaction between he and Bakugo. Simply, I like Midoriya for a few reasons that I may not have previously intimated. Those being he is a certified chaos gremlin which is sometimes lost on us as the reader/viewer because he's our narrator (Bakugo only seems insolent. He'll say "don't tell me what to do", but do exactly as you've asked. Midoriya will smile in your face after being told what not to do and adapt the most pants shitting plan to break his bones and risk fatal injury known to man right after.), he's such a fucking nerd, also, kin.
Shouta Aizawa - I love a good traumatized character. But his characterization is so stern, rough around the edges and nonchalant (I usually like trauma with a side of silly goofy✨). It truly belies the fact that he's just a big ole softie who understands the nuance of his students in such an endearing way. Like, I just love him.
Shoto Todoroki - Character wise, Shoto is really entertaining because, while he is a nepo baby, he is skilled to back up why he should be in class 1A. He is not dumb but he is simple. I appreciate that he is regularly unexpected comedic relief and it definitely comes at the price of something neurospicy. Additionally, he and his family situation are just as integral to the story as Midoriya and Bakugo's evolving relationship and power dynamic and it adds texture to him as a tritagonist.
Eijirou Kirishima - My fifth is an oscillating fan available for whoever last occupied my mind but this comes from a recent ask where someone mentioned being a kiribaku because same. Kirishima is the first to earn Bakugo's respect because of his earnest and unrelenting attempts to befriend him. He and Denki are good indicators that Bakugo is, perhaps, not as enigmatic as the narration leads us to believe. His veneer of manly bravado barely covering his insecurities and lack of confidence? The fact that he thought the best way to be a new person was to dye his hair?? KIN. He is precious to me.
⚠️ Spoiler Warning through chapter 411.
These moments are not in any particular (in terms of favorite or chronological) order.
Feral Deku Being Found By Kacchan - Just, the whole arc of being found by Class 1A, beaten down by them, apology in the rain, and being advocated for by Class 1A against an angry mob? The whole thing was goosebumps inducing, just the way they've all grown.
Discovering the Sir Nighteye's Prediction Saw Deku Dying in Action - Toga is a disruptor but also, perhaps, so are all those OFA quirks. Even so, Sir Nighteye not only resigned to his own death but also Deku's which is so wild of him when he so earnestly wanted to discourage All Might from the path to destruction he saw ahead of him. He really had beef with a kid. BUT ALSO Sir Nighteye coming back to be like "All Might... this isn't a comic book, you don't have to die here,". OMG the boomerang arcs all of these characters get is just so heartwarming/wrenching depending on who it is.
Bakugo, With No Other Choice, Facing Off Against Shigaraki - We got so much from that, including, confirming that he cared about that whole host of extras so much that he would think to pass along their care to someone else. That was just so beautiful for his development but also real tears. I remember I was in the midst of reading the manga for the first time and saw a hint of a leak and I read like 150 chapters in a matter of days to get caught up.
Heroes Rising - Literally, that whole movie. GOOSEBUMPS.
Bakugo vs Uraraka at the Sports Festival - This fight was so brilliant for so many reasons.
1. Uraraka gave Bakugo a legitimate run for his money all on her own 2. It demonstrates sexism in universe based on audience perception of the fight as well as how much public opinion bears on the split between a hero and a villain 3. Aizawa gave an unbiased interpretation of the fight and continues to defend Bakugo's character later in the story when people bring up his "villainous" behavior at the Sport's Festival 4. Bakugo is shown to be really noble where other boys from Class 1A seem to think they need to go easy on girls (who end up handing them their ass later) during the Sports Festival but also during the Class 1A vs Class 1B joint exercise 5. It spurred Uraraka to push beyond the confines of her quirk and seek tutelage under Gunhead which is like.. so huge in terms of her development but also pushes her outside of a perception of helplessness that would typically befall a main female lead in a shonen series.
Thanks for asking!

Just for fun I ran to my desktop to aid me with Google translate, which isn't perfect. But given that I don't know Japanese myself....
Here's what I found; on my own, with only translate and my existing language skills.
This is wrong:
Tumblr media
This is CLOSER, AND MORE INDICATED OF THE CORRECT SUBJECTS OF THE SENTANCE. :
Tumblr media
While it isn't one to one, Japanese has a lot of feel and implication, from what I understand. There's a lot of context.
So I tried scanning the fan translations a few times just to see what it said on my own. I broke it down into parts:
Tumblr media
AITSU: him, that guy (in this case, Izuku)
The "Nuguenee" part seems to mean "can't wipe it" or "to wipe away"
Kocchi- here
De nuguu - means something like 'take off with "
Eventually, I felt like it wasn't scanning off the screen well enough, and I actually WROTE THE KANJI in the translation of the panel out on paper, which was very interesting bc again, don't know or write Japanese.
But I scanned that:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(The word "if" is covered by the icon)
"IF YOU CANT WIPE IT OFF
I WILL WIPE IT HERE"
Shows that the verbiage used is "wipe," or "to wipe away," but it is SO MUCH CLOSER in spirit to "I'll step in for what he can't handle" and also the use of Aitsu indicated he is talking directly about Izuku.
I GET that the official translator's job is to try to capture the dialogue in a way that FLOWS for the new audience, since Japanese is a very differently constructed language than English.
They are supposed to find a way to translate certain things with keeping the mood and intent of the dialogue.
"OFA couldn't keep you in the ground, but we'll finish the job and then some"???
Where the hell did they get that???
I didn't dig any further back bc it might take a while but everyone has also pointed out that the original dialogue is a direct reference to the apology scene(I know it is in the fan translation but I think it is also being indicated that it is the same in Japanese as well? Pls fact check me of you desire)
So bc it was originally referring back to that scene, there is an added STING that comes with this official translation
And the ADDITIONAL BLOW that is katsuki once again being kind of...pigeon holed into the aggressive, more self-focused kid that he once was...a caricature of his former self, instead of his emotionally upgraded, self assured, "needing to help Izuku or he will perish" self.....instead of letting this moment be a crazy cool declaration about how HE is the one you fuck with when Izuku needs help.
Which like yeah, in itself is a little bit agrandizing, HOWEVER it is literally also serving as a vow or a completion of his vow earlier in the story that he will take on what he can't handle!
It's super important for Katsukis arc! It acted as not only a THREAT to anyone who give Izuku a run for his money and tests the limits of his OFA, but a VOW to Izuku that HE HAS HIS BACK.
He just YELLED ABOUT IT on a battlefield, while Izuku is probably still staring at him with heart eyes.
And ultimately, there is NO REASON THE ORIGNAL TRANSLATION, WHICH PLAYS OFF THE OFFICIAL TRANSLATION OF THE APOLOGY SCENE CANNOT BE USED OFFICIALLY.
It reads properly, and packs a HELL OF A PUNCH EMOTIONALLY. More so than essentially "I'm gonna put you in the ground bc Izuku CAN'T"
It seems like the fan translation kept the literal meaning but added the flavor to make it flow, such as "stepping in" "to handle" and calling Izuku a Nerd. But the official translation just tweaked it by too much to where it just reads differently and most importantly, doesn't carry that punch.
In conclusion, I did a little bit of independent research and decided that YEAH it doesn't make sense why they translated it so wildly different. Other than just wanting Bakugou to remain a frigging caricature, even in the Finale.

Ask Game: How about bio dad might for Bakugo?
1- he puts him up for adoption like i do this ask- i kid i kid
lets try to make this fun, hmm
1- Ok so Toshinori gets Masaru pregnant (oh my god he's a support designer not unlike David. Toshi you can't keep doing this.) and the baby just has a boosted version of Masaru's tiny sparking palms, big explosion palms. because ofa i guess. Except, Masaru is like 'i dont think i can handle being All Might's lover publicly but also i don't think i can handle being a single parent' so when Mitsuki is like Interested he just jumps on that immediately. Toshi figures the baby is safer with a normal couple, pays child support and gets sent pictures occasionally, but doesn't want to impose any more, tho tbh both of the bakugous would be fine if he did.
2- Katsuki has no idea btw. He was told once that Mitsuki was actually his step mom and he didn't believe it. Both his parents figured he didn't need a bigger ego and didn't tell him the truth but did have a lot of fun giggling over getting him All Might merch. This sounds funny now but oh man will it contribute to issues once he knows the truth-
3- speaking of issues, Toshinori does recognize the kid in the slime that the previous kid in the slime is rescuing. he doesn't say anything, but he's extremely glad that this perfect worthy successor kid happened to also save his son. In a panic of losing someone he's never really had, Toshi asks Masaru if he could meet Katsuki in person, maybe start visiting. They and Mitsuki discuss it (complete with injury reveal) and decide why not, though continue to keep his identity a secret. So Toshi spends three hours a day as All Might, and the rest of his time is focused on training Izuku, and in rare breaks from that, hanging out with the Bakugous. Katsuki takes a month before he really believes this guy is who his parents say he is, but he decides the training tips aren't half bad- for a toothpick coughing up gallons of blood every day. For his own part, Toshinori doesn't really pick up anything amiss yet in the family- remember at this point, Katsuki has started to leave Izuku alone, and wouldn't mention him to Toshi anyway. Busy with training and not getting into trouble, none of the more questionable of Mitsuki's and Masaru's parenting choices would be causing much issue or be obvious then.
4- And then UA starts, and on the first day, Toshi watches behind a building as his son attacks his successor, and is as surprised as he is unhappy. but he's not sure how to bring it up, or to fix anything. So he just tries bridging things as All Might for Izuku and as Yagi-san for Katsuki, which... is a process, and also crazy that none of the students realize anything is up there. But so it goes. highlights of things that actually get better because of this: at one point, as Katsuki tells Yagi-san that its a problem because Deku is supposed to be quirkless, Yagi tells him that he's quirkless. Based on his parents expression, Katsuki assumes they didn't know either, but it doesnt make any sense because Yagi isn't annoying and creepy and weak like Deku, he's good at giving hero advice and- oh. oh katuski doesn't like that realization and shoves it down deeper, but also doesn't bite as much about it. Also, Katsuki admits how awful All Might giving him the medal at the SF was for him, and Yagi is very quiet. All Might apoligizes to him the next day.
highlight of something that is so much worse: the final exam.
5- SO THE REVEAL its gotta be at kamino right. The Idiot Rescue Squad has succeeded and are watching the news, and see... All Might lose power on camera. Izuku is already basically in tears, but at the sight, Katsuki reacts by going "OTHER DAD???" which shocks Izuku out of feeling anything else but "WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL HIM???"
there's a lot of shocked screaming. Iida can't even say anything and Kirishima is on the ground giving up trying to understand as Katsuki and Izuku realize how they're both connected to All Might.
The police finally come help take the kids home. No one dares breathe too loudly or text anyone, afraid of another explosion of conversation like that. For his part, Katsuki is going to shake answers out of Toshi as soon as he steps into the house, no attempting to hide behind Aizawa will make it better. Once that... ordeal of a visit and explanation is done, Toshi wearily suggests he have the conversation with the Midoriyas alone. Aizawa looks at the Bakugos, looks at Toshinori, and is like 'oh hell no im not missing this for the world. lets go round two'

So Katsuki must've known he was tapping into OFA, right?
Seems he figured out pretty quickly that it was happening when he was thinking about Izuku- "Deaths door, in total crisis".
And it kept happening when he would think of him. And yet he keeps this huge revelation from everyone. From Izuku. Because Izuku seems oblivious to it.
He does not know that Izuku is the same -hiding how quirks were unlocked, and hiding that wanting to protect Katsuki can turn him into a terrifying mess. A liability.
So did Katsuki think he was almost stealing AFO powers on the sly? Was he afraid to tell Izuku what was happening? Wondering how in-deep he was that AFO sensed his protectiveness/feelings/panic over Izuku, to the point it let him draw power like this? It shouldn't be possible.
The denial-of-feelings part of Katsuki must have shrivelled and died pretty quickly since he figured it out, because it feels so one-sided. Izuku seems to Katsuki more distant than ever. He leaves UA and Katsuki willingly.
Even after the apology. Sure he came back for everyone, but he seems less excited about Katsuki's abilities/improvements than he has ever been. And with their history, and with how far Izuku has come.. He struggles to keep up. Does Katsuki wonder if he's just being tolerated at this point? Outgrown? Was the apology really too late to change anything between them?
So how can Katuski deny that this OFA connection has come from his overwheming feelings, when a magical entity has decided *Yes, you will be an extension of Izuku's quirks. You have a very one-sided intensity to protect and cherish him at all costs. This makes sense.*
How do you start a conversation like that from Katsuki's perspective?
KATSUKI: Hey Izuku. I know you're not super interested in what's going on with my hero stuff anymore, but uh.. your OFA is giving me some powers without your knowledge.
IZUKU: What?! Why?
KATSUKI: Uh... Maybe some sort of external catalyst... ???
(NOPE! TRY AGAIN)
KATSUKi: I think OFA has detected I have a strong desire to protect you. Like... Really strong. Like I would die for you. So OFA has given me these crazy, rule-bending boosts to like... help with that, I guess...
IZUKU: Wow, Kacchan. That's a lot. But... actually other people would die for me, or you, or any of the students -like some of the teachers, All Might.. I really think they would sacrifice themselves too, but they don't have access to OFA, so why...
KATSUKI: No idea. Nothing to do with an unbearable desire to be with you, stay by your side, feel you pressed up against me, or anything like that... haha.. Fuck.
-- ---
Yeah. Fuck that. So he says nothing?
Then he's on a battlefield, Izuki is gone, and he's being told HE's the closest and most important to Izuku. That his corpse will be used to devastate Izuku, because Izuku can't handle it. Not if it's him. Because he's Izuku's person.
And even though he's getting targetted relentlessly and brutalised, he's also thinking... "Oh... He also... Oh."
A part of his core feels settled, relieved -even joyous despite the trauma- because it all clicks in to place that they *both* feel like this, and OFA knew it. They've bent the rules of OFA together.
Izuku is not indifferent. He's scared and hiding because he doesn't know that Katsuki feels the same. Oh.
How bittersweet it is to have a dream almost within reach and lose it. But at least he knows that Izuku, despite everything, loves him, in whatever way. More than anyone. How affirming that must be. It dulls the pain. It sets his resolve to at least go out as the best version of himself that Izuku believed him to be.
He's suffering, he's dying, and it's horrible. And yet there's a comfort and longing he wraps himself in as he goes down. Fighting until the end for the both of them.
And then he sees vestige All Might.
He's not even surprised. At all. Because he already knew he was connecting to OFA. He was sure before the apology. It's Izuku who doesn't know. But someone in there, in OFA must also know by now. And if anyone would see him out of OFA and out of this world, it would be All Might's visage. Of course it would.
But All Might is not going to send him on his way. He's going to make him fight, because Izuku will die if he doesn't.

Hi, I've been meaning to tell you this for a while now but I kept getting shy lmao but I wanted to say how funny I found it that in chapter 4 of SJLT, it seems like Deku and Scribbs really hit it off, like multiple times 😂 it seems so in character for him and I can't figure out why? I love that he's characterized like a little pervert throughout the fandom, and not that them going at it multiple times is preverted, it just seems so in line with someone like Deku to be very enthusiastic now that this door to physical intimacy has opened 😂 and he's diving head first!
As opposed to Weeds and Kacchan! Their situations were different because Deku was at the gala and it was a normal Tuesday for Kacchan when he made his move, but I didn't get the impression Kacchan was waking Weeds up in the middle of the night for round 2 😂 I don't know! It somehow matches their character and how they approach physical intimacy maybe? I don't know if any of that was on purpose, but it felt right regardless. Kind of a silly thing to praise but I enjoyed it! Adds more to them and their relationships I think. Loved it! Have a nice day!
omg lmfao hi hi hi, hello. okay okay, i actually have some thoughts about this—like, why so many of us characterise Izuku as uh, more intense than we might do with others LOL, and i think it just boils down to his sincerity! like, it’s so earnest and disarming, right? he goes after the things he wants and believes in with like, very little regard to what he should do—so it’s so so easy to imagine him chasing the physical rush of being with someone in the same way. especially someone he’s been pining for! izuku seems so easily overwhelmed with how he feels, both good and bad—and being intimate with someone is overwhelming! especially if you’ve wanted it for a while. i think his being so ready to throw down and roll down is just another way for him to express that. 🥹
to be fair to Katsuki, he was at Weed’s late on a work night, after a work day, and also had to go back into work early the next morning LMAO. he stole what time he could and made the most of it and then got some goddamn sleep afterwards. 🥹 i do think they’d approach sex and intimacy differently, in very telling ways! like kacchan’s more relaxed, honestly—both in the fics and in canon, in some regards. whereas izuku and scribble’s first time is about being unleashed, kacchan’s and weeds was more… idk! surrendering, lmfao (title drop 🎤). everything is important, when it comes to like—showcasing someone. 🥺 how they brush their teeth (or not), how they come to a pause at a traffic light—how they meet someone else halfway, and come together. i’ve always read izuku as like, unconsciously needing to take as much as he can, once he’s sure it’s his to have. he had to fight for OFA, he had to break himself apart to be granted it—and now he wields it and has made it his own. as far as we know, he is the last holder of it—it’s his to have. compare that to kacchan—kacchan who was born with an incredible power, who got used to being given things—only to then get the shit kicked out of him, come his teenage years, and shown why being given something incredible wasn’t enough to guarantee greatness. i like to think that as an adult that would give kacchan a sureness, in all things—when he’s given something incredible now, he’s not going to take it for granted or some divine right. he’s not going to rush with it. he’s going to take his time and prove he’s worthy. those fundamental ways that they’ve both been challenged and reinvented would inform everything they do—even how they’d touch, or want to touch, someone they love. 🥺🌷

Little KiriBakuDeku ficlet
(I have no idea what happened this ficlet just jumped out of my hands enjoy I guess???)
"I can't believe you gave me your quirk again. Dumbass."
"How was I supposed to know her quirk was a paralytic and not poison?! I thought I was dying, Kacchan!"
"Yeah, and look at how great that worked out for us." Katsuki pointedly glances upward where his arms are chained above his head, immobilized. "Now we're stuck because you don't have your quirk, and if I use it, my broken arm will explode."
"I said I was sorry!" Izuku wails.
"Guys," Eijiro suddenly cuts in. "Could you keep it down a bit? My head is killing me. I think I have a concussion."
"Oops, sorry Kirishima-kun!" Izuku whispers.
"Shit. Yeah, sorry."
The three fall silent for a moment while they contemplate their situation. Bound side by side in an abandoned warehouse, still feeling the after-effects of the villain's quirk, it isn't looking all that great, especially since Izuku is effectively quirkless at the moment and Katsuki is too banged up from the fight to use OFA without causing some serious damage to his own body. If only there was some way for him to transfer it back to Izuku… but they’re too far apart, with Eijiro hanging in between them as a further barrier
But then, as Izuku eyes the distance between them, his gaze catches momentarily on Eijiro's bare chest and the well-defined muscles on display. Absently he muses that it’s too bad that he hadn't passed on his quirk to Eijiro instead; though Kacchan will always be his first choice, if he'd given OFA to Eijiro then he would have easily been able to handle the raw power, and would have broken them out by now.
As the thought passes through his mind, an idea follows. It's absolutely crazy, but as far as Izuku's concerned, crazy might be just what they need right now.
"Hey, Kacchan. I have an idea to get us out of here," he murmurs lowly to both keep their kidnappers from overhearing and to avoid making Eijiro's headache worse
Katsuki had been dozing off a bit, clearly more out of it than he'd care to admit, but he perks up at the sound of Izuku's voice. "Oh? What the hell is it, then?"
Eijiro is paying attention too, watching Izuku quietly. He has an odd expression on his face, like he somehow knows that whatever Izuku's plan is, he's not going to like it.
Giving him an apologetic look, Izuku lays out his plan. "You need to give me back OFA."
"Gee, no shit," Katsuki scoffs. "How the fuck am I supposed to do that from over here, dipshit?"
"You're going to give it to Kirishima-kun first," Izuku continues, his breathing shaky. "And then he's going to give it to me."
The others still for a moment, considering Izuku's crazy plan.
"A-are you sure about that, Midoriya?" Eijiro asks. He glances between the two of them. "I mean, don't get me wrong, I want to get out of here too, but to...to hold your quirk seems...kinda...intimate?"
"I don't think we have much of a choice," Izuku admits with a grimace. "Besides. I trust you, Kirishima-kun."
"I feel like if we're going to do this, you should probably call me Eijiro."
Izuku can't help but give him a tight smile. "Only if you call me Izuku, then."
Eijiro grins. "Deal."
"I'm going to call you both braindead," Katsuki interrupts. "Because how the fuck am I supposed to even pass him OFA in the first place? I can't exactly rip a chunk of my hair out and shove it in his mouth like you did, weirdo."
Don't blush, don't blush, Izuku tells himself, but it's no use. He can feel his face burning hotter than one of Kacchan's explosions. "Well," he starts off haltingly. "We just need to exchange DNA. And, um. There's lots of DNA in...saliva."
Katsuki gives him a blank look. "You want me to spit in Shitty Hair's mouth?"
“N-no! That's not what I meant!" Izuku quickly denies, shaking his head wildly. "I just mean, we're close enough together, you could probably...kiss?"
The stunned disbelief is practically palpable in the air.
"You want us...to…kiss," Katsuki says slowly.
"I mean, it would work," Izuku defends weakly, wishing he could bury his face in his hands. "You just have to do it with intent."
"With intent, he says," Katsuki repeats, sounding dazed. "Oh my fucking god."
"It's okay, bro. I don't mind," Eijiro suddenly speaks up, his cheeks as red as his hair. "If it's just to, uh, just to escape, it's fine, right?"
Katsuki's expression shifts from dazed to alarmed to his default - angry - within the span of seconds, before settling on resigned. "Fuck. Okay, yeah, fuck, if it gets us out of here before that crazy bitch comes back. Fuck it."
"Okay, cool," Eijiro grins through his nerves.
"Fuck," Katsuki repeats. "Okay, fuck, let's do this." And then he leans over as far as he can in his restraints, Eijiro meeting him halfway, their eyes instinctively sliding shut as their lips meet.
Izuku thought it might be awkward, watching his two friends essentially make out while he's helpless to do anything but hang there, but as he stares at the pair, catching the tiniest glimpse of Kacchan's tongue slipping into Eijiro's mouth, he can't help but feel kind of warm and a little bit...hungry.
Katsuki and Eijiro's kiss starts off kind of awkward, but the moment Katsuki licks his way tentatively into Eijiro's mouth, it heats up, Eijiro's lips parting with a moan and his own tongue pushing up to stroke the intruder. It startles a gasp out of Katsuki, and Eijiro can't help but take advantage, taking control of the kiss. He nips lightly at Katsuki's lips, clearly enjoying the way it makes Katsuki's breathing shudder, and he can't help the tiny groan that escapes him when he feels Katsuki shyly bite him back.
The pair have become all but lost in each other when suddenly Izuku shifts, making his chains rattle, and all at once Katsuki and Eijiro are brought back to reality. They break apart with a gasp, and just take a moment to try to get their breathing under control.
Izuku is almost afraid to speak and break the spell of...whatever just happened, but he figures this is important. So he steels himself, and asks, "So did it work?"
Eijiro startles as if he'd forgotten Izuku was there, his entire torso flushed and heaving. "I - hah - I don't know. How can I tell?"
Izuku isn't really sure, to be honest, but he's saved from answering by Katsuki, who replies instead.
"It’s gone," he pants. "I don't have it anymore, I just checked."
Izuku can't help but brighten. "My idea worked, then?"
"Not yet," Katsuki shakes his head. "Shitty Hair still has to pass it back to you."
"Oh. Oh yeah." Izuku feels that warmth that had been burning in his chest while he watched Eijiro and Katsuki kissing turn into a bonfire as he realizes that means it's his turn. He tries to look at Eijiro out of the corner of his eye without making it obvious, but he catches Eijiro looking at him anyway.
"Right. Uh, let's just. Do it then?" Eijiro says slowly. "I-if you're ready, that is."
"I am!" Izuku lies. "Totally ready!"
"Just remember, Shitty Hair," Katsuki pipes up, watching the two of them with an odd expression. "It's all about fucking intent. You have to fucking mean it." He pauses, and then flushes when he realizes how that sounded, and quickly adds, "When you give the quirk back!"
"R-right!" Eijiro stutters. "Got it!" He then turns back to face Izuku. "You ready Mi-Izuku?"
"Yep!" Izuku squeaks out.
"Okay," Eijiro breathes, and then he's leaning in again, this time towards Izuku. For a second Izuku is too scared to move, just watching Eijiro's face come closer and closer, his eyes half-lidded, and then he catches sight of Katsuki watching him over Eijiro's shoulder and the jolt of pure want in his stomach spurs him into action. He doesn't so much kiss Eijiro as crash into him, eyes screwed shut.
Eijiro, to his credit, only lets out a little grunt of surprise, before he's moving back to soften the kiss. After his initial panic, Izuku's nerves make him pause, giving Eijiro a chance to take over, parting his lips slowly to give Izuku a chance to get used to the feeling of kissing another person. Still, Izuku can't help but squeak again when he feels Eijiro's warm, wet tongue sliding against his lips, trying to lick his way inside. After only a small moment of hesitation, Izuku allows his lips to part, and Eijiro's tongue slips in.
It feels weird. It feels amazing. Izuku is pretty sure he's about to spontaneously combust if he gets any hotter, but at the same time he'd rather die than let this moment end.
Izuku almost doesn't even register the moment OFA returns to him, too distracted by the way his heart feels like it's going to explode out of his chest every time Eijiro's tongue snakes its way into his mouth or his sharp teeth drag teasingly over Izuku's lips. But then the heat that's been flooding his body, making him burn from the inside out, starts to take on a more familiar electric feeling. Before he even knows what's happening, Izuku has unconsciously activated Full Cowl, snapping his restraints like they're cheap elastic bands so that he can reach up and wrap his arms fully around Eijiro's shoulders, hanging on for dear life.
"Oi!" Katsuki's shout cuts through Izuku's lust-filled haze. "Cut it out, fucker, you're free! Get us out too!"
Izuku pulls away from Eijiro with a gasp, eyes wide, chest heaving for breath. "Right! Shit, right, yes, right away, Kacchan!" He reaches up and pulls Eijiro's chains apart with minimal effort, completely unable to meet his eyes the whole time.
When he goes to free Katsuki, he can't help but duck his head in shame at the absolutely murderous expression on Katsuki's face. "S-sorry Kacchan. But hey, at least my plan worked?"
Katsuki doesn't say anything as Izuku makes quick work of his bonds, which only makes Izuku feel worse.
But then, the moment Katsuki is completely free, he grabs Izuku's collar with his good arm, spins them around to pin Izuku up against the wall, and then suddenly Izuku finds himself getting his brains kissed out for the second time in as many minutes.
And god, it's just as good as the first time. Katsuki is aggressive and firm, but not cruel, and his kiss leaves Izuku weak in the knees.
When Katsuki pulls away, Izuku almost whines in frustration. God, he wants to kiss Katsuki all day.
"When this is over, " Katsuki says lowly, glaring both of them down. "We are going to all have a fucking talk."
Izuku and Eijiro share a look, but rather than being intimidated, Izuku can tell they're both intrigued. He carefully shifts, trying to relieve some of the pressure in his pants, while Eijiro and Katsuki do the same.
"...my room?" Izuku suggests.
"No fucking way are we having this conversation in your goddamned All Might shrine," Katsuki immediately responds. "We'll do it in my room."
"...'it'?" Eijiro asks.
Izuku will never say it out loud for fear of death, but he thinks Katsuki's flustered expression is the cutest damn thing. "T-talk! The talk!" he clarifies. "Jesus."
"Okay," Izuku agrees, finally feeling his breathing get under control. "I'd like that."
"Same, bro."
"Alright." Katsuki's eyes slide shut as he tries to calm his racing heart. "Alright. Then let's get out of here so we can fucking...talk."
"Right!"
"Let's do this, Kacchan!"
And the three of them take off together to face their challenges together

Spoiler alert chap 384 - don't say I didn't warn ya!
I AM LOSING MY FUCKING MIND! 🤣😭💚🧡 OMFG
Okay hear me out. People who knows me here, know for a fact that I don't post my own shit very often and reblog stuff I like instead because I usually have zero time to sit and write post. Anyways, I've read so many shit about the whole Katsuki tapping into OFA for like months now, yet none really touche something in particular, which I just kept thinking about and shsjkdkd I'm losing my shit because Hori just fucking potentially made it CANON like WHAT?!
*tryna breathe*
So the reason I believed Katuski could have vestige like Izuku with OFA (and therefore have access to fucking OFA) was because of movie 2: Heroes Rising.
We all fucking know the ending, how Izuku is fucking ready to give up on OFA and pass it to Katuski because he thinks it's the only way they can defeat the villain (forgot his name, not important) and they end up HOLDING HANDS and then have super Saiyan fighting (yes fight me on this) but then when it's all over, supposedly All Might says that OFA goes back completely to Izuku, right? And I always thought this was fucking weird that it would be the end of it because Katsuki conveniently doesn't remember shit of what happened lmao
But he must have fucking figured it out at some point, after he saved fucking Deku from Shiga/AFO in Katsuki Bakugo: Rising and he's used cluster for the first time like that I mean COME ON!!!
So yes, he's not even fucking surprised when he fucking dies and sees All Might vestige shape because he knows for a fucking fact that damn, he's been tapping into OFA for some time now and Izuku had unconsciously let him, he didn't even fucking noticed because it's Kacchan and Kacchan already has his everything so OFA? Yeah just tap in it a little, I won't mind shjskdkd
AND NOW MY BOY HORI COMES IN WITH CHAPTER 384 TO CONFIRM THAT SHIT?! Okay, roundabout way, very subtle and shit, because we actually do not see the movie 2 hand holding scene but we do fucking see the two kiddies Mahoro and Katsuma, Melissa, Rody's family and other peeps from the other fucking movies and aaaaash can someone please end me right here 🤣😭💚🧡
Everything is fucking falling into place for this bkdk canon finale and I want to SCREAM!!!!
That's it, thanks for listening to my rant lmao

I’m for the dfo theory, have been for some time now, but even I agree with the other anon to some degree.
Even if he’s doing so out of ‘love’, he’s still ultimately breaking his son’s spirit intentionally, even if it hurts him. Just to gain One for All (at least, that’s the motive confirmed so far)
It’s more to the point that he cares more about his son’s ‘future’ than his happiness/safety.
Even with knowing how unstable Tomura was back then, he let him run around freely up until he was sent to Tartarus, knowing that his target was UA, mainly the heroics course, where his child was. And I’m not even gonna say he didn’t know that Izuku was going to UA. Even if Inko and her husband hadn’t kept in touch often, who wouldn’t want to excitedly announce their child’s achievements to their loved one?
I understand the anonymity thing, but he could’ve given Tomura atleast a warning not to kill children in that certain class, though I do think it would bring some suspicion on his identity. But Tomura wouldn’t have questioned his Sensei back then.
Just for the record, that Anon wrote several other people almost exactly the same message, deliberately making fun of people who are loyal to the idea of “good dad”. So I conclude - hate for the sake of hate, written out of boredom, to stir up activity and provoke other people.
Now, point by point, so you can understand my position (I hope).
1. “Breaks his son's spirit.” Yes, he does to him in a very similar way as he did to Yoichi, but in this case he is more delicate and has certain goals. First, he does it really gently, he does not intend to kill All Might, Inko, Izuku's friends - although that would really break Izuku's spirit - to separate All Might and kill while Izuku is fighting with lady Nagant - why not? Still, it wasn't allowed to happen. Or kidnap his mother while she was still evacuated to the Academia UA - again, nothing happened. Izuku said in the battle with the A-Class that he was afraid that Afo would take them away from him. And yet in the battle with Endeavor, Hawks, Tokoyami with Jirou - the kids are still alive, being swatted away like pesky flies. (And I believe it was Tomura who killed Katsuki, succumbing to the impulse of Vestige Afo's emotions. Because we've been shown how easily Tomura kills and maims people, while Afo is abstract, having others do it for him or triggering the explosion/other kind of killing condition because of betrayal). Second, he told Izuku that he chose a thorny path filled with heartache. And so, as a lesson in how it would be, Izuku was backed into a corner, giving the impression that he would be deprived of everything he held dear. He was forced to alienate himself from his friends, to lose their support, because this way it would be easier for him to manipulate, to provoke, to wear him down in order to eventually capture him. That's why the assassins were sent - to wear the boy down, to make him fight 24/7, so that a) he would get tired and collapse without strength (and someone would then pick him up and bring him to Afo); b) - I think so - to complete the full OFA, to reveal his potential, all his quirks. I could say it was a workout for Quirks.
Likewise, we don't know what else might be behind this intention to break the spirit - for what. We can only guess. With Yoichi it was for his safety, to then force him to join Afo, to take his side even if Yoichi has no choice. I'm guessing that with the information that the OFA is shortening the lives of its hosts, who already has a quirk, this may take on new shades. We don't know conclusively whether the quirk was there, and if it was and is, that raises another question - how will the OFA then affect Izuku? Will the quirk shorten his life the same way with Shinomori did, or does Izuku have an inherited defense against such effects of the quirk? There is always cause and effect, and since we know very little about Afo's true motives, we can only guess. But what we do know is that Afo is obsessed with the very concept of family, and so extremes-extremes-extremes! Apparently, he cannot otherwise manifest his love and affection for family. And this also gives us a great deal to think about - his backstory - why.
2. The instability of Tomura. Tomura is a tool under the control of Afo. And Afo, guessing that Izuku has OFA - he doesn't mark on his back a target. On the contrary, he even tries to somehow focus Tomura's attention elsewhere. But let's start first - Simulation Park - USJ. Back then, the villains only had the All Might class schedule, they didn't know about the students and their quirks, otherwise the division would have been different, and the goals would have been different in this mission as well. Afo himself was surprised that Tomura described to him a disciple with the power of All Might. Here we can assume that Afo did not know that Izuku had entered the Heroic Department at all, or he thought the boy might have been in a different class. If he even knew whether or not Izuku had entered the Academia UA. Then we had the Sports Festival, where Afo noticed Tomura - Izuku and Shouto - he labeled them as someone who might be a nuisance to them in the future. Not enemies, but a nuisance. After the Festival, however, Tomura focused on Bakugou. I think there was some sense of Sensei's opinion here, too. Then we have Hosu, the first introductory internship with the young heroes, where they just have to observe. This is where the adult heroes don't let them get into battle. I think Afo was familiar with the concept of internships, so it's logical not to worry too much, right? The boy can be taken care of by competent adult heroes. But Hosu. Hero Killer. The kids broke the rules, that's a fact; they fought with Stain, defeated him. But here we have NOMU. NOMU - who may have recognized Izuku (and decided to save him - why not? At least Tsubasa-kun could have done something good for Izuku) or was sent to steal him away from Stain and the heroes. It's also worth noting that Nomu has never once attacked or harmed Izuku. In the Park, Nomu simply held his arm, absorbing the energy from the blow - Izuku didn't break his arm then (it was later that he broke his arm). Then we have the Trade Center, which was really an accident, it was necessary for the plot - the conversation between Tomura and Izuku; but then Camp - where there were professional heroes to watch over the children and teach them. Bakugou was the target. Izuku was designated as a target to be killed when met - this was Tomura's order. But there is something else interesting here. I assume that the B-grade teacher, Sekijiro Kan (the supposed second traitor), was assigned to watch over a child who could use a few quirks. This is the kind of confusion that could have happened between Monoma and Midoriya, if the above is correct. What I'm getting at is that Afo could be sure that the boy would be looked after and protected in case of trouble. But Izuku is Izuku, so we see and love Kamino very much! A lot has been said about that, so I don't see the point in going over everything. By this point, Afo definitely suspected that Izuku has OFA and yet - there's a possibility that he didn't tell the Doctor who is wearing the quirk now, because the Doctor only hinted to Tomura that the quirk was there, but didn't say who had it. On Afo's part, he never made a target on Izuku's back. Yes, even in Jaku there were so many moments when he could have just taken him - or in the same hospital - but he didn't. He couldn't have healed Izuku himself from those wounds - that's understandable. And if we also remember Jaku - Afo's tantrum when he was forced to press the pain - calling the boy worthless. Agreed, that was pretty emotional on the part of the always snide and know-it-all Afo. And his reluctance to call the boy by his heroic name... also very interesting. Why? Why either only OFA, or by his full name? The conclusion is simple - he doesn't like that nickname - Deku.
And going back to Tomura - If Afo had restricted him in any way or tried to change his mind, Tomura would have done the opposite and asked unnecessary questions. Tomura is not stupid, he is impulsive, radical. So he would definitely do something to thwart Afo's plans if he forbade him from attacking children. Afo only facilitates and directs - after all, Tomura is four or five years older than the children, and they pose a tangible threat to him - this was made clear by the events at Simulation Park. So yes, it would be extremely suspicious if Afo forbade him from attacking children. On the contrary, he's always encouraged him to attack others and kill them if he feels like it. In this case, I'm sure that Afo, on the contrary, was trying to steer Tomura's destructive interest away from Izuku.
But until we're shown flashbacks and reflection on those events by Afo, his thoughts - everything above is just speculation - as are all my theories (some already confirmed, some not).
And again, just for the record, let me remind you of what I wrote earlier - we need Good DFO as a counterbalance to the other fathers we are very well introduced to in the story - Shimura Kotaro and Todoroki Enji. And all the more, a Good DFO would confirm the thesis “Heroes sacrifice their family for the world, Villains sacrifice the world for their family”.

What do you mean by inko ruining the post war arc? Also what do you think of mitsuki? Inko might be a great mom but i don't like her very much.
If I just learned that someone gave a friggin' quirk to my minor child without my consent / me knowing about it, a quirk that breaks his bones to boot, if I learned that someone led him on for a long while before telling the truth about the risks or AFO, if I learned that someone decided to give him at 14(!) a legacy / path of a life of loneliness and enable his already self-destructive tendencies using my child's idolization of that adult - well, I'd throw hands about it - don't care if it's the greatest hero of the world.
From Inko's perspective, All Might going behind her back has to be so fucked up. An adult using her child for his own agenda, however noble that agenda is, putting her child into danger, cutting her out of the decision or even giving her a chance to weigh in... It should be unacceptable.
Post-Kamino Inko was ready to stand up to both Izuku and All Might to protect him. A normal, human parent instinct. Post-war Inko barely had a reaction to the OFA reveal other than useless crying.
She also did nothing when Izuku was brought back to UA, just cried.
I frankly lost all respect for her post-war. She comes across as weak and a non-entity. I’m not saying she should have been able to hold Izuku back, but keeping this whole thing from her must have hurt Inko, and All Might and Deku got away scot free for it, because she wasn’t allowed to express any normal human emotions about it. (The same way Deku’s closest friends weren’t allowed either).
We didn’t get enough non-gag content of Mitsuki for me to form a solid opinion of her, but at least, I think she was a sub-optimal mom for Katsuki, because they have the same flaws and clearly emoting with violence is at least partly due to her “nurture”.

I have so many theories about how bakugo is gonna come back some how! Like with the 2nds quirk (most likely), shigAFO saying he'll bring him back for ofa, or bakugo coming back out of sheer will power! He hasn't had his big moment yet! He didn't even hurt shigAFO. Shig himself came back from the dead so why cant katsuki? Maybe if izuku can get to young shig and save him, he can save katsuki but shig will most likely die in the end. I really hope the life transfer thing is the 2nds quirk. Like shig or all mights life. Hori said he cant promise to keep all might alive ☹
SPOILERS FOR MHA CHAPTER 362
very interesting theories!!!!!! i hadn't even really thought about it much bc i'm just letting horikoshi do his thing now — clearly i have no idea what's going to happen in the future bc i thought bkg. u know. WOULDN'T DIE but i was very wrong about that
this is probably just me being in my denial stage but i don't think he'll stay dead. i don't know HOW he'll come back yet but it feels ... almost too early for him to die permanently TToTT deku still hasn't even reached shiggy, which means we still have an entire final battle as well as the aftermath to deal with. considering how long the last war arc was, where all characters were fighting at the same time, it just feels weird pacing-wise to keep bkg dead through all this. like u said! he didn't even hurt shiggy really, making this entire fight feel really one-sided, and it feels like ... i dunno, like horikoshi is giving bkg very little credit ^^' i'm not at all saying that bkg would easily body shiggy, but i feel like he'd put up a bigger fight than this LOL
if all might gets sacrificed to bring back bkg though ... HAUGH i will be very sad :( but i guess all might's been hinted to die for whole volumes now, so it wouldn't be as surprising. whatever the case is, i hope he comes back, but i think i will be able to accept him staying dead too :') 'tis the consequences of war. it's just tragic and all considering he's only a high schooler and he finally got to start over with deku :'(
