I am kind of annoyed with the current state of long-running franchises getting so big and so old that they become entirely metatextual and self-referential, making commentary less on the state of the outside world and more on the state of their own fan communities.

I keep saying that the modern Doom games aren't just inspired by the comic and could still be traced to Death Battle or fans' opinions towards Master Chief.

And then i remember something: the Glory Kill mechanic was thought out before the idea of the Doomslayer.

Specially in the cancelled Doom 4 where you'd still play as a human soldier.

Because with that in mind, there's also the theory of id Software copying Brutal Doom.

But at the same time if you rewatch those early glory kills, they don't have the same "angry demigod" impression as they do in 2016, so this could be farfetched.

Maybe the "rip and tear" influence from the comic was still thought out before the "let's make Doomguy even stronger" part.

hey slayer, sorry if this is kind of out of left field if you dont play splatoon, but i can't pick which team to join for the upcoming splatoon event. which do you think i should pick, power, wisdom, or courage? i'm torn between power and courage, because i'm definitely not wise enough for team wisdom. i'm gonna be playing with a gatling gun taller than my character if that helps.

Depends how you'd frame your strength. Is carrying a minigun into mortal cephalophod combat and mowing down the opposition a reflection of your might, or is standing tall for your team with a weapon most couldn't even hope to drag around a display of your bravery?

Again, would this really look out of place in the Slayer games?

Part of me imagines that if id were to bring back this design, they'd make it a Sentinel tank instead of one part of the UAC or Earth's military.

I guess it's the "curvyness" to some parts and maybe the green or the legs even.
