Aight.
I’m feeling silly today, so imma do something that may or may not make me look like the craziest person on this platform.
So
As some other @the-ooftroop fans may already know, Springtrap & Dr. Hare have a striking amount of similarities, such as… *proceeds to take out & unfold a comically long piece of paper*:
•Both have a history of kidnapping various children
•Both have used “mind control” to create followers
•Both are fused with a rabbit or rabbit-like object (with Harvey’s mind being fused with an actual rabbit’s while Springtrap was just physically “fused” with the suit)
•Both of them have a tendency of never permanently kicking the bucket against all odds & “always coming back” one way or another
•Both come back alongside other iconic antagonists in the series at one point (referring to Super Villain Island & Pizzeria Simulator respectively)
•Both have an interesting connection with vents being used as a way to easily get from one area of a building to the other (referring to the vent system the player uses to traverse the factory in 24 Carrot Island & the vent system Springtrap uses to traverse the horror attraction in FNaF 3)
•Both are “mad scientists” (which… I mean, William is practically messing with fucking soul energy or whatever the fuck remnant’s supposed to be, so sure, I’ll take it)
•Both are pretty much the faces of their respective franchises
&, according to Ooftroop…
•Both have “baby forms”… that are the most “what the fuck” things from both franchises that I’ve ever seen, just on two COMPLETELY different levels…
& I don’t even KNOW if this is all of them, there are a SCARY number of similarities.
But then I realized something this morning.
The Binary Bard, the OTHER mad scientist from Poptropica, shares some of these similarities as well, namely being:
•Both of them have a tendency of never permanently kicking the bucket against all odds & “always coming back” one way or another
•Both come back alongside other iconic antagonists in the series at one point
&
•Both are “mad scientists” (even if Bard is more so a mad engineer… but even so, that only fits William more cause… I mean, remember fucking Afton Robotics??)
But all those similarities are just things Bard already has in common with Harvey, so that doesn’t say much (& my old psych-statistics professor would kick my ass if I didn’t acknowledge this overlap).
You wanna know what DOES say a lot though?
How both this funny little jester & the smelly rabbit man
•Are a “fusion” of man & machine
•Have been horribly disfigured in an accident by their own machinery (or, assuming William didn’t design the springlock suit, machinery they used to aid their goals at least)
•Are considered to be the most deranged &/or unhinged but also the most threatening character in their respective franchises
•Have purple & yellow as their prime color motifs (mainly when William was alive & using the not-rotting Spring Bonnie suit)
&, most importantly of all…
•They’re both British… probably. Bard doesn’t have a canon voice actor, so I’m just going off of how they were at least European considering their medieval hometown.
So where am I getting at with this?
… I dunno.
I just thought it would be funny to point it out & joke about how Scott “copied Poptropica” or something ridiculous like that.
Or give you all this absolutely disgusting visual.
Because I despise myself (/j). WJWODKWODOKWODKSKEOKEOWJDWIIR
