Na de, viccet félretéve: ha azt állítanám, hogy a Dallas nincs ott a számomra legfontosabb 100 sorozat között, akkorát hazudnék, mint Texas. Hazudni meg ugye csúnya dolog. Szerintem a Dallas olyan sorozat, amellyel kapcsolatban lehet vitatni, hogy bámulatosan profi, csak teljesen értelmetlen. David Jacobs a családi nagyregény eszközeit habozta addig, amíg nem állt össze a legtöményebb szappanoperává. És egészen lebilincselően működnek ezek a nem különösebben bonyolult figurák. És hát, Bobby visszatérése a zuhanyzóban... 

Az ugye egészen konkrétan sorozattörténeti tusolás. A Dallas a mai napig popkult mém. És nem (csak) gúnyból. Hanem, mert Jockey Ewing. (Eredetiben J.R.)Tudvalevő, hogy a Dallas magyarországi kultuszát az idevetődött nyugati ember ámulva fogadta, hisz mire a rendszerváltás után bemutatta a Magyar Televízió, csomó országban már réginek számított. A Dallasról egyébként nekem elsősorban anyai nagyanyám jut eszembe, aki minden pénteken megnézte az előző heti rész ismétlését délelőtt - aztán este meg az új epizódot. A mama rengeteget dolgozott, állandóan forgolódó háziasszony volt, de amikor péntek volt és Dallas, békén kellett hagyni. Már az epizódot megelőző reklámra odaült, a kutyára is rászólt, hogy Lord (így hívták a dobermannt), most aztán hagyjál békén, amíg nem lesz vége a Dallasnak. És a mama, amikor nézte, mindig azt mondta, amikor valami nagyon rosszat csinált Jockey Ewing, hogy te gazember, te aljas, egyszer megjárod, te!

Én nem láttam minden részét szerintem, de szeretem a Dallast.

I'm not aware that there was ever a tabletop RPG adaptation of Philadelphia, but there was definitely one of Dallas.

(For all that it resembles a parody of contemporary niche-audience indie games, this one came out way back in 1980, and was only the second tabletop RPG based on a licensed IP, after Heritage Models' 1978 tabletop RPG adaptation of Star Trek. Interestingly, it's very possibly the first tabletop RPG ever to include a robust "social combat" system, anticipating the later popularity of such mechanics by some twenty years. Its publication bombed so hard that it's been cited as one of the reasons its publisher went broke two years later.)
