Dan Heng/Imbibitor Lunae: He’s not used to any sort of flirting or attention like that. He literally only has eyes for you, he thinks your best friend’s advances are her just being friendly, so for a while he doesn’t do anything about it. Until one day she takes it too far when she nearly kisses him, right in Front of you. Dan Heng is much too fast for her of course, but once it dawns on him what’s actually been going on, he’s honestly a little annoyed. He makes it clear what his stance is by holding you even closer to him, wrapping his tail around you when he’s in his Imbibitor Lunae form…little things like that to show he only has eyes for one person.

Zhongli: He definitely gives her the benefit of the doubt, assuming she’s just a little confused about social norms, as if he’s one to think that. So he just lets it go. But he can only do so for so long before he starts thinking your friend’s behavior is…inappropriate. Like when she tries to sit in his lap, like you often do, yeah. That was the last straw for him. He stood up, kindly asked her to never speak to him again, and he had a serious chat with you about your choice of friends.

Neuvillette: He’s not having ANY of it. He loves you, YOU’RE his treasure. Not her. He tries to put up with it for the sake of your friendship towards her. But there’s only so much he can put up with. It doesn’t take too much blatant flirting with him for him to finally smile so sweetly at her and ask to speak with her privately in his office. Oh my gosh the way she thought she was about to get her way, only to be THOROUGHLY scolded for her ‘inappropriate’ behavior. Safe to say you don’t have any more problems. He Does hope you can remain friends though, even if he doesn’t like her.

it's been a few months since you started playing honkai star rail and nothing has changed about your habit of logging in late at night – or early in the morning. yet, dan heng has a hard time getting used to it. every time you awake him at four o'clock he gazes at you, dazed and confused, before he realizes it's that time again. "y/n, this isn't healthy for you," he mumbles every time, but he still gets up and accompanies you with no further complaints. give him a few minutes to adjust and he will be the sharp warrior he is by daylight! but as soon as you're done and log out, he'll pass out too lol.

he's definitely the most concerned out of everyone. and the most sleepy, too. he has a hard time waking up, and as soon as his eyes are open, they gaze at you with worry. "y/n, you should be asleep, don't you know what time it is?" he asks groggily, but he gets up regardless and readies himself to go out with you. i sincerely hope you're not at full 180 trailblaze power because this guy struggles to stay awake and provide shields, but he tries so so so hard for you and it's adorable. and he manages, just barely so, as he's super sleepy. please promise him that you'll go to sleep when you log out, or else he will remain worried.

he might not show it, but you habit of skipping sleep and logging in at night to farm planar ornaments kinda worries him. he himself might not need much sleep so he isn't too bothered by having to work with you late at night, but he clearly sees the darkening bags under your eyes as you lead him through the simulated universe. but again, he doesn't really show it and silently does what you ask him to do. only when you're finished farming and are about to log out for the night, he makes you look at him. "go to sleep now, okay?" he sternly demands, but his eyes are softer than usual.

out of everyone, he would be the least bothered. he's practically nocturnal himself so it's not much out of the ordinary for him if you log in at three in the morning and ask him to join you on another farming trip to grind for relics and ascension materials. okay, maybe he slightly realizes that the two of you should be asleep but does he care? not really. he doesn't complain, is happy to spend time with you, and does everything you ask him to without spilling as much as a yawn or complaint. if any, he enjoys your nightly adventures!

jing yuan

well, this is an interesting combination. a sleepy general and a nocturnal being who asks him to grind at night, meaning jing yuan has to skip on his precious sleep. don't get me wrong, he doesn't complain and accompanies you without hesitation, but he isn't a night owl and it shows. he's waaay more quiet and not as smooth, yawns a lot and is pretty droswy in general. he's still a skilled warrior who clears the caverns of corrosion with ease but you can tell he is a tad bit out of it. please let him rest as soon as you're out of trailblaze power lol.

Danny is an EXCELLENT mother/father he always does EVERYTHING in his power to protect his kids and WORRIES emotionally if he leaves them unattended for more then 3 minutes

Danny has something called “mama instincts” if his kids are in danger OR his hubby as well you best believe DANNY WILL BE ANGRY and will suddenly be SUPER STRONG he can SMASH through walls running you do NOT mess or interfere with his mama abilities/instincts

Lil mousey nicky is my everything 😭. Can you imagine what it would be like for nico and toto to drop him off at school for his first day? Everybody would be in tears. Seb has already skipped off to his class because he doesn't need momma and papa to hold his hand he's a big boy now! but nico and toto are so emotional about nicky going to school. They know that it will be good for him because mousey is so clever and deserves the chance to make friends, but it's still really difficult for them. They've already had meetings with the principal and nicky's teacher so that everyone knows about his background and can help him properly if he needs it, and he's even going to be in the same class as teddy alex so it's not like he'll be alone. But it still feels a bit like they're abandoning him, and nico and toto hate that because they know that's what nicky's most afraid of, that momma and papa will abandon him and he'll be on his own again, and they never, ever want their precious pinkie to feel like that.

They walk nicky to his classroom and greet his teacher and get nicky settled at his desk, and nico tries to tell mousey that he's going to have so much fun and learn so much, but he's almost in tears as he does so, which of course, only makes it harder. Nicky's teacher persuades them to go, even though both nico and nicky are almost crying. Toto has to guide nico to the car because he can't see for all of the unshed tears pooling in his eyes, but as soon as the car door shuts, he's fully crying. And if toto sheds a few tears as he tries to comfort nico, well, no one has to know. Nico wants them to wait just outside the school in case nicky needs them, but toto says that they have to give him some space, and then proceeds to drive exactly two streets away because he's not going to be the lunatic parent waiting just outside the gate, but he does agree with nico that they should be close in case nicky needs them

Oh plss!

Nicky being quite excited but super nervous too! Teddy Alex will be there and he met his teacher already but he will miss momma abd papa so so much and Sebby too!

Nico being so anxious too and he doesn't want his baby to go! He kissed Seb's head, as dows Toto before the cub zooms off to play with Dan and Britta but Nicky whimpers and clings to momma's leg🥺 they head inside and Nicky clings even closer because he can sense papa and momma are nervous too! The teacher is nice and he gets to sit next to Teddy Alex who holds his hand and babbles about how he got grapes as treat for in the break and he loves grapes!

Nicky making momma and papa pinky swear they will come get him! And Nico just shakily makes Nicky pinky promise to have the best day ever! And pls Toto having to hold Nico as they leave cos Nico is just so shaky and in tears!

Nico bawling his eyes out in the car and Toto holds him and quietly cries too cos thats their baby mousy! They totally stay two streets away in the car and snuggle in the back sear with snacks Toto brought and for a bit Nico even sleeps snuggled into him, too tired after crying.

Finally they get to pick mousy and seb up and Nico and Toto hold their boys so tight! They are very relieved Nicky had a good day and babbles happily about arts and crafts and numbers! And lil teddy Alex toddling after them because Nicky forgot the drawing he made of the family!

(Also th3 teacher being sweet omega Tonio? Like all soft spoken in pretty skirts and dresses and his lil cow ears and horns😭 HD is super good with Nicky and knows when to call the family, and totally ends up eith Kimi<3)

So the point of my last post was to (roughly) dissect what makes joke options in games such an anomaly. It's an interesting design space when something is initially designed for comedic value before anything else, but then goes on to actually be taken seriously as an inevitable consequence of being in a game people play against each other. So as a game or series goes on, it has to be considered how to make a "joke" option without wasting a character or weapon slot. If someone likes something unique about a throwaway joke version of someone like Pichu or Dan, then why not try and take the character seriously to make a genuinely interesting character? In that sense deliberately making a joke option feels like a waste, since at some point you could've just made a serious option instead while still having an innately "comical" idea that's still entertaining. Dan doesn't stop being Dan just because he's not Z-tier, because there's more to the joke than him being suboptimal.

So... what did I have in mind for War Bots?

Well, the idea is that every character has one gear option that's just. Silly. Not necessarily awful, but not intended to be more than a gimmick or for comic value. If a gag weapon isn't super seriously viable then it's not much of a concern to fix that. Basically, the idea is to use it as a free space to make a weapon that doesn't have to be seriously useful, just entertaining.

I think an early part of this idea was to give Yanno a Rocket Jumper equivalent, as in a practice tool that does no self damage... or any damage at all, and was just useful for practicing rocket jumping or for having a gimmick build focused around free hyper-mobility at the cost of reliable damage. I didn't want to dedicate one of his precious few actual weapon slots to a training tool or meme playstyle enabler, but it still felt like an important niche to have. Hence, the gag weapon slot.

Another early idea for this concept was for Arber. This requires some context though, since it's an alt of an alt weapon. Instead of a plantable Plantoid companion that heals all allies in an area gradually over time, Arber can instead bring a Spring Bloom, a large flat flower-shaped Plantoid that gradually heals allies at a slow rate while standing on it, and also acts as a jump pad for his team only. I then had the funny idea for what if he could instead place down an almost identical-looking flat flower plantoid, but as a trap for enemies instead of a boost for allies. Essentially a Junkrat trap, where the petals of the not-so-friendly bloom ensnare the victim in place for a few seconds. The main differences are that the damage is applied over time instead of a single burst as the plant sucks the life out of its victim, and that other enemies can attack the plant mid-chew to free their teammate early. The drawback over its counterpart is that while it still heals allies, it doesn't give the jump boost, and has a longer cooldown upon being destroyed, which it does automatically after snagging an enemy. Still a funny idea, where an almost identical entity can be either a harmless team support option or a potentially deadly trap, and enemies have to have the game sense to know whether it's safe to ignore if needed or if it absolutely requires taking the time to get rid of it. That kind of paranoia is funny.

The third gag weapon idea actually used to be a completely serious one for Wilderoad's weapon slot. Context here is that Wilderoad's secondary fire used to be a springing punch ala ARMS, which was scrapped due to being kind of pointless for a character with a revolver. Their basic melee attack may still have some extra reach and a knockback effect to fulfill their springy theming, but the right click was replaced with a more interesting and useful trick shot using the revolver itself. The gag idea though is to take spring punch melee and the extended reach alt fire, and have that replace their gun. The Lead Fists, a revolver replacement (in the form of heavy-duty gloves) that makes your primary fire a souped-up version of your usual melee attack, while your secondary fire is the old ranged extendo-punch. Throw in a health and/or speed boost, and just like that Wilderoad turns from a mid-ranged generalist fighter to a melee combatant with a hard range limit but no need for ammo. A concept that *could* warrant a whole character, but could just as easily be a niche satisfied by making it Wilderoad's throwaway slot.

An even sillier concept that doesn't even make any physical sense is some kind of "make big" buffing ability, with no specific bot in mind for it yet. The idea came in part from Zarya's recent April Fool's change, where her shields enlarging her target was funny but didn't really accomplish much aside from making it easier for enemies to hit, which is a good thing for Zarya's bubbles at least. Ideally a gigantifying buff makes the recipient *feel* big and powerful, giving buffs like a health buff and possibly a damage boost but with the innate downside that you become an easier target. Due to there being a major downside at all, along with an otherwise potentially jarring perspective change, I feel like this feels more appropriate as a pickup item that teammates can choose to avoid if they don't want it. Because of that I feel like it'd fit best for Sorsier or Burnett, whose throwables already work like this, or could be modified to do so. I think my only real concern with an ability like this is navigating maps. If this was a real item, every map in the game would have to be completely traversable with every character *with the size buff*, which is just a lot of work for a gag weapon. Maybe an easy solution could just be that crouching is enough to go under any doorways or ceilings, or maybe it's just a downside that you can't fit into some places with the buff active. I can't tell how dumb that is so that's why this thing is thoroughly in gag weapon territory for now, and it's lucky to have that much.

Conversely, some kind of shrinking item could be funny too, but the issues are less with practicality and more with balance. Making a target harder to hit is a pretty substantial advantage, but a more annoying one than most other buffs, and also one that you can't attach other upsides to as convincingly you can with making someone bigger. If it's meant to be a debuff then why would you want to give the enemy such a substantial advantage in addition to something like a damage and health debuff. The pros and cons are just a lot for a team-based real time game and sound potentially frustrating in practice. Not really considering it at all at the moment.

Also obligatory detail is that these weapons would be added on April Fool's days, though would still be unlockable and usable all year round.

But yeah, those are just my less-than-serious weapon ideas for War Bots. I think some of these could have a genuine serious use, but they don't necessarily have to, they can just be fun without needing to be "viable" or anything, or without needing to feel like a real weapon slot. Ideally these are relatively easy and quick to add, otherwise some of the opportunity cost of dev time becomes questionable. I also don't really have more ideas past this yet, but would like a gag weapon for every character just for the sake of consistency. But eh, we'll see.

||The original thought process I had with this while interstellar trade is flourishing and the Vidyadhara have plenty of trades of their own (medicine, craftsmanship, etc.), what if they can use Cloudhymn magic to spin threads?

They're precious items that are super rare, expensive, and must be ordered beforehand for several months to a year because of how time-consuming it is to make.

It's a slow and steady process of turning orbs of water, manipulated by cloudhymn magic, into threads. Their sturdiness can be manipulated for various uses: soft for fabrics, delicate for surgical uses, or thicker threads for bows/instrutments. While it doesn't seem anything special at a first glance, they do shine like the ocean surface under the sun (or moon). It enhances the aesthetic, has medical properties, can be used to build weapons/armor, makes a beautiful melody for musical instruments, etc.

Not only it is a slow and steady process, it is also a test of the Vidyadhara mastery of their magic. The precision of their control with weaving water into high quality threads that can be sold and used. If they fail or lose focus, the threads will end up subpar and break.

And so many have failed.

For Dan Feng, he sees it as another challenge to test his mastery of Cloudhymn magic. He had failed a few times but the end results of his training he has created strong threads that shines. He keeps the spools of thread he made, gifting to those who would use it better than him, or if he's in the mood craft a sentimental gift to give to close friends/family.

Note, Dan Heng as he is right now, the end results for his threads are decent at best. They are not brittle but they are not very strong either. His control over his own magic is still unstable at best...

Kakak juga tau sih kalau cara Ibu dan Bapak ngedidik Kakak dan Dede itu superduperrr beda, yakaaan? Dulu Kakak pernah sedikit iri --engga bukan iri, lebih ke bertanya-tanya kenapa yaaa kok Ibu-Bapak gitu ke Dede tapi ke Kakak engga?? Dulu, masih kecil banget kok. Tapi setelah Kakak amati dan belajar, ya emang udah seharusnya gitu. Setiap orang kan beda, termasuk setiap anak juga beda cara didik dan perlakuannya. Mau itu adik kakak atau bahkan kembar sekalipun, yakan? Jadi yang Kakak sadar kalaupun Ibu-Bapak memperlakukan Kakak sama persis dengan gimana memperlakukan Dede, whoaaa I'm sure I wouldn't be able to handle that. Kakak gak akan nyaman dan malah berontak mungkin? HAHAHA Jadi sekarang, Kakak bersyukur alhamdulillah emang seharusnya sudah seperti ini.

Karena Kakak tau tulisan ini juga bakal nyampe ke Bapak, jadi di bagian ini untuk kalian berdua yaa! Bu, Pak.. Kakak banyak banget salah ya? Kayaknya Kakak banyak banget bikin Ibu-Bapak kesel, pusing, marah. Hampir 25 tahun Kakak hidup, berarti selama itu juga Kakak selalu numpuk-numpuk dosa karena belum bisa memperlakukan Ibu-Bapak dengan baik. Tapi Kakak belajar kok dan inshaa Allah berusaha untuk jadi anak yang lebih baik lagi. Kakak minta maaf ya Bu, Pak.. Huaaa! Untuk semua rasa kecewa, sakit, marahnya Ibu-Bapak karena Kakak. Kayaknya salah satu alesan kenapa makin gede makin pusing juga mungkin gara-gara Kakak masih banyak salah sama Ibu-Bapak. Kakak minta maaf ya, maafin Kakak yaa..

Setelah maaf harusnya ada terima kasih kan? Tapi Kakak bingung, terlalu banyak --gak terhitung dan gak akan pernah cukup pun berhenti rasa terima kasih Kakak. So, for all the good things you bring for me to this world, thank you. And I love you.

Selalu sehat, selalu bahagia, selalu dicukupkan, selalu diberikan perlindungan, selalu diberikan kekuatan, selalu diberikan ketenangan, selalu dalam kasih sayang dan cinta Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala. Selalu sayang Kakak dan Dede ya!

I was looking through my old draft for Atom Heart (the novel I've been writing since forever) and I found this gem of super relatable piece of writing...

Dan twirled the pen in his fingers. He could turn the crash into an exciting story with high stakes and an artistic touch.

What should he start with? Definitely with describing the surroundings.

‘The sky was…’

He tossed the pen in the air a couple of times.

What colour was the sky when they crashed? Probably blue.

‘The sky had a radiant azure glow like the most precious of–’

What was more beautiful, lazurite or turquoise? Amber should know, but Dan wasn’t about to ask her. Instead he could do the smart thing and peek at her mineralogy guide.

The book in question wasn’t at its usual place on the shelf after it being all messed up, instead there was one of Dan’s favourite works: The Bloodstained Shine by Aurelius Argo. That was even better.

He remembered a great passage where Argo described gems in a recently found ring belonging to the ancient royals – he could use it as inspiration. And maybe read a couple of pages to get in the writing mood as well.

The chapter about the ring was right in the beginning, so he might as well start reading from page one in order not to lose the context. Holding this book was like hugging an old friend he could deny nothing, and sinking into the comfort of familiar flowing words was inevitable.

That’s where Amber found him, sitting by the shelf with a nearly finished book on his lap.
