if raine does not get to go apeshit in the finale i'm considering it a hate crime. i don't just support trans wrongs i LOVE trans wrongs. i ENDORSE AND ENCOURAGE trans wrongs. they should get to tear belos apart! he wished to make them a murderer? then they'll show him a murderer! the pen is mightier than the sword, but both snap in half when faced with a viola in shaking hands filled with indescribable pain and trauma and rage!

dana terrace knows how fandoms work. she knows if you show ppl even the barest hint of an m/f couple, especially one involving an angsty white boy, ppl will jump on that shit like rabid dogs and itll completely overshadow whatever queer rep you want ppl to actually pay attention to. that’s why she introduced hunter the way she did. first they have an episode where luz gets kissed by a girl and it’s made clear to the audience that they’re on track to be each others love interests. and only then does she introduce hunter’s angsty blond YA love interest looking ass.
and even then they tried SUPER hard to hammer in how much hunter is NOT luz’s love interest. they make luz lean in as if she was going to kiss him and then smack him to show that she isn’t going to. and then they do that thing where hunter licks luz’s hand and luz wipes it on his face. which is something that has been memed to death with siblings. just so the audience immediately understands what kind of dynamic the show wants these two to have. if they skipped any of these steps they were worried the fandom would see luz have a close relationship with a conventionally attractive white boy and start foaming at the mouth for this ship to replace lumity. maybe if disney saw a boy and a girl who aren’t immediately sibling coded they’d also start foaming at the mouth for it to replace lumity. so the crew had to play it safe.
anyway my point is i hope the crew also knows what they’re doing with the huntlow ship. idk what they’re setting up but if the huntlow ship gets together and it’s not wedged between a full 10 minute clip of the raeda wedding and a full 10 minute clip of a sappy slice of life lumity date then every toh related tag is going to be INSUFFERABLE and i hope dana knows it.

Okay is anyone going to talk about the parallels here?
Also, YouTube subtitles, so bare with it
Jumping in to save the child
Realizing that they're not coming out of this one
(Did some editing so we can get the line with Luz's face. Good ole angst :D)
Saying goodbye
Flash of light, at the heart of the Titan no less
And just the thank you, hurts so much
"Oh, I know what I should've said... I should have thanked them..."

See, it's less about whether or not Willow is the braincell, and more about the fact that Willow likes taking care of her friends and looking out for them. It's both a source of self esteem and worth for her (she feels useful and competent if she's helping others) AND it's her main way of expressing her gratitude and affection for her friends presence in her life. They make her happy so she's gonna keep them safe and out of harms way. Plus most of her friends (sans hunter) have a history of looking out for her that, as much as she appreciates, she'd rather not return to. She likes her independence and she likes her new role in the friend group, she doesn't want to take steps back.
Sometimes this Need To Help manifests as magical outbursts that may not be great strategic moves (when she thinks Hunters been kidnapped in coth). Sometimes it manifests as scolding and steering in the right direction (her with Gus in something ventured) but ultimately letting them make their own choices. Ultimately Willows the sort of person to do whatever she thinks is right in the given situation for the people around her. When she can summon it, she has a lot of wisdom for her age (seen in the scene w/ her getting everyone to share food on the airship in king's tide). And if she can't summon it, she'll still try and do whatever seems right in the moment (gives hunter the pic of flapjack) and just problem solve as the day goes on until someone feels better, goddamit! <- this is the kinda moment that leads to rash decisions, bottling her feelings and burning out bc she really doesn't wanna fail due to her history and self esteem issues. It's why Hunter comforting her works so well in ftf and completely shifts their dynamic. She finally has confirmation that someone who loves her won't love her any less when she fucks up, but I digress.
Willows always looking out for others, and sometimes she's dumb about it, sometimes she's smart about it! It depends on who she's helping, why they need help and what kind of day she's had/where she is. Thanks to Them showed Willow in a pretty stable situation, hence there's extra room for silliness. For the future was following extremely distressing events and put even more stresses on Willow herself. Hence she bottles things up and struggles to make the good decisions she was once able to. It's not like she became a worse leader or friend since asias or king's tide (episodes that take time to include small moments of her playing to people's strengths, doing good strategy, making sure no one's left behind, etc). She's just having a really garbage fucking day.
She's probably only gonna get 1 Moment™ or so in the finale bc she had her day in ftf and I'm content with that, but I was rewatching asias where she DOES take on a responsible leadership role (while still maintaining her whole "blossoming wallflower/crouching underdog hidden badass" thing) and it reminded me of the small contained debate that happened around thanks to thems airing. Because yes, Willow and Gus were Goofy™ that ep, but a) they were literally comic relief in season 1 + 2A, it kinda has precedent and b) Willow is only as sensible as the situation calls for her and as her environment allows. She's nuanced like that!

the 2099 timeline is wonky as hell (without even talking about retcons), but there's something very interesting to me abt the implication that Miguel torpedoing his relationship with Xina and Gabriel feasibly coincides w George and Conchata's divorce (plus her subsequent institutionalisation).

idk just the fact that Mulder seems to sleep just fine throughout season 1, but after Scully's abduction he starts saying things like "I don't sleep anymore" and the detail of him being an insomniac stays really consistent from then on out... he stopped sleeping when he lost her and never totally got over it. I'm going to cry

I might as well get this out of the way now: I am not a pro-shipper and I'll never be one lmao.
I think proshipping is really harmful and I do NOT understand where proshippers are coming from, at all. Ive read aaaaaall the arguments in favor of proshipping. I don't get where these people are coming from and they make me uncomfortable.
If you see me interacting with proshippers it's just because this blog is an information spot for Lunter and writing reference for me to use later. I'm not going to be picky with information because even weirdos can point out something I missed.
But yeah, if antis think Lunter is a proship type of pairing... they're so fucking stupid. I think they're ugly biphobic paint-sniffers for "siblingfying" the type of boy Luz likes. And I think they're unwashed losers for trying to gaslight people into thinking Luz and Hunter don't have romantic undertones - despite these undertones being sprinkled throughout the show. Especially my icon from Sense and Insensitivity - which is a drawing Luz doodled of herself kissing Hunter [drawn in his old design] in a story about her self insert character. This story is a sequel to the one Luz wrote about herself having a romantic moment with a prince during the final fight with the villain.
It's right in the foreground, but knowing the level of intelligence antis have, they absolutely missed it.
But more importantly: These people are demons and their biphobia shouldn't be treated with kindness. I'm sure as hell not going to be nice about people trying to "siblingfy" the type of boy Luz likes. That is so fucking weird and if I see anyone doing it I'm going to assume they're into incest. Luz's and Hunter's relationship can't be interpreted as "siblinglike" like Luz's and Gus' relationship can because Hunter's the type of boy she likes... and, as of Thanks to Them, they parallel past lovers.
Sooooo if you're into siblingfying characters who parallel past lovers please just block me lol.

hot take actually if they showed dana actively changing herself to be more into and like the metaverse and all this crypto shit ian is into in order to slyly convince him to take her under his wing from poppy it would’ve been more interesting than her just naturally being like him
like maybe she knows ONE thing ab the metaverse on the top of her head but when she realises ian is so desperate for a connection through that she uses it to her advantage since she’s so desperate to be rid of poppy and how much worse could working for ian be right? which in my opinion would be a better way of giving her character flaws and flesh her out rather than just have her be ian 2.0

I know we’ve become vehemently tired of Disney and their "live-action" remakes, but I just got a hilarious idea:
A live-action TGAMM episode/special with Ashly playing Molly dressed up as her and the best part: Dana as Scratch but in a cheap blue ghost costume xD
I swear that would be the best thing ever xD. Like those cheesy musical specials on ABC and NBC and such.
Oh my god YES. That would be hilarious!!!!!
It'd be made of the shittiest material known to man and every once so often Dana commits Fourth Wall Break and complains about the costume LMFAO
I'd LOVE that it's SUCH a good ideaaaaa

Some of y’all in The Owl House fandom are for a better choice of words, very ignorant about curly, coily, and kinky hair.
Imma let y’all read through this foolishness. Yes, this is connected to the Luz redesigns I posted about.
Here are the 1st two pictures from the this tweet so y’all can see better.
Luz’s hair looks more the first second picture( the one with yellow shirt with what I think are black toucans). Here’s a chart on hair type for those of you who need it.
Luz’s hair falls around the 1A-1B range. Curly hair starts at 2B, Coily starts at 3A, Kinky starts at around 3C-4A. Honestly, if Luz put a flattening iron to her hair it wouldn’t look at different. I’m more ashamed that it came from someone who’s black and knows what curly hair looks like.
