Modern media, (especially superhero) should be more respectful to its camp horror predecessors because Dance of the Dead did “let’s get shawarma after the battle” (let’s go to the pancake house) a full 4 years before avengers came out

She watched the mouth jerk to a gaping cavity, then a twisted scar that split into a wound again. She saw the dark nostrils twitching, saw writhing flesh beneath the ivory cheeks, saw furrows dug and undug in the purple whiteness of the forehead. Danse Macabre 2010 ( Saint-Saëns )
"According to legend, 'Death' appears at midnight every year on Halloween. Death calls forth the dead from their graves to dance their dance of death for him while he plays his fiddle. His skeletons dance for him until the rooster crows at dawn, when they must return to their graves until the next year."
