Music, literature and art have always been connected for me in my art practice and life. I can't imagine a life without it, or I can, but it's not a life I would want to live. I am tied together with rhythmic soundscapes and strong words, sentences, stories that follow me and settle in my body throughout my life. Some become the starting point for new artworks, others memories.
Yesterday I was once again at a concert with #CaecilieNorby celebrating the release of her new album Earthenya, listen to a short clip with “Dont be mean” with talented #simonaabdallah on percussion and the well-singing choir #astanorby and #lauralindell and band.
The first concert I heard with CN was with my wife, the eldest was in the womb and CN played a concert in Aarhus Music Hall. Later, after we had moved to Copenhagen, expanded the family to five, and we heard CN at the Copenhagen jazz festival on a hot windy day at Islands Brygge. Yesterday we heard CN at the lovely cosy Hotel Cecil. Between concerts, her music has been played repetitively in the studio, on the bike and at home. And as I answered a lady in the restroom last night, when she said "she plays well", I answered "Cæcilie Norby doesn't just play music, she is music".
I mainly listen to jazz, I was also the only teenager who borrowed jazz LPs from the library in the village way back, so I guess that's what you call a lifelong crush. When I worked on the artworks for #kassandrassoestre, I actually listened to Greek jazz with Lyre as the lead instrument to get into the Trojan mood;)
But CN I return to and when she released her new album Earthenya with so much playfulness, groove and magical lyrics I was surprised and enthusiastic.
When I love an audiobook I buy a physical copy afterwards to support the writer, now I have started collecting LPs again, after streaming, to support the musician.
So, always remember to support the contemporary artists you love, also the visual artists, art can easily fit under the Christmas tree, without art and culture our lives are poor and colorless.

Last life drawing session of the year with @sketcherei, this time online which meant the incomparable @conkuntion was our the model in a dark Christmas themed setup. There was. 10 minutes portrait pose, which for me is a) very long pose! and b) face?! Closeup?! 😱 But there’s nothing to do but giving it a go and in the end, I rather like the result. #berlin #lifedrawing #onlinelifedrawing #model #aktzeichnen #ink #pentel #pentelbrushpen #black #red #skizze #sketch #sketcherei #portrait #kunst #kunstner #künstler #künstlerin #grafik #grafic #danishart #danishartist #art #artistsoninstagram #artist #vibekiil https://www.instagram.com/p/CmbPKn4sGXD/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Posso ammirarlo solo in un libro che mi è molto caro con tante immagini di interni domestici. È un olio su tela: La tazza del caffe di Gustav Vermehren. (Copenaghen 1863 - Hvalso 1931).
