Unfortunately, I can't draw anything new right now but I have some headcanons.

I've seen people portray Darius as the flirty one but realistically I don't think as adults he would be attempting to flirt with Alador, unless maybe it's after they get together.

As teenagers, I can see Darius "jokingly" flirting with Alador or just unintentionally getting him flustered (Amity gets her tomato face from her dad after all). Since they were best friends back then Darius was more open about liking Alador, though (seemingly) platonically at the time.

As adults however Darius keeps up the act of not liking Alador. (If you notice in the show DARIUS is the one who keeps starting shit between them). Even after Belos's defeat, I think they'd have to start talking again to work together but Darius would still act hostile towards Alador to avoid showing he still cares about him. Now Darius would be the one constantly getting flustered over little things like we saw in the finale. Meanwhile, Alador remains oblivious.

Darius genuinely cares about Alador's well-being but tries to hide it. Saying stuff like how Alador needs to not overwork himself and take breaks and then follows it up with "You need to set a good example for your kids. If you can't even take care of yourself, how are you gonna take care of them?" as a cover-up. Although said cover-up actually does make Alador try to take care of himself.

Darius would also be constantly reminding him to eat. I've seen people point out it looks like Alador has a dad bod in the epilogue, he'd eating healthier which is what led to the weight gain.

At the start, Alador would keep reverting back to his old ways of overworking and not taking breaks before having to be reminded by Darius again. Although Alador initially listens to him just to set a good example for his kids, eventually he genuinely doesn't want to "disappoint" Darius.

I imagine an instance where when Darius asks him if he's eaten yet and the answer is no, Alador starts to get a bit embarrassed about it. Meanwhile, Darius is thinking "Is he... blushing??? I didn't know he could feel shame." lol.

Alador isn't good at expressing himself either, specifically, he's not very good with his words which often leads to him unintentionally offending Darius. He often shows affection through acts of service which can also lead him to overwork himself. Especially after being married to Odalia which made him think that working to prove your love was normal in a relationship.

I had an idea once that after they get together when Alador comes back from work with sore shoulders/back, Darius would offer to rub them for him. Alador's not used to having a partner that cares more about him than the work he can do for them.

I can go either way if they're together in the epilogue. I think it would take a while (years?) for them to get into a relationship after being on bad terms for years. But they COULD be together at that point and Darius was just embarrassed about freaking out like that. Alador had the mini Abomination in his pocket after all 🤔

where are all the 200k word post-day of unity fics where alador is going through a nasty and increasingly messy divorce and trying to help rebuild the boiling isles and also fixing his relationship with his kids but he's also struggling with having his own autonomy again and his own guilt over not being an actual father to his kids and he doesnt know who is outside of his responsibilities of work/family bcus he never had actual friends once he left school and once upon a time alador was the one to show darius there's more to life than what you can do for other people and now darius has the opportunity to help alador relearn the same thing and maybe together they can both rediscover what real love feels like again after years of bitterness

Owl House Pumpkin Spice

“You know, when you promised traditional human cuisine, this wasn’t what I had in mind,”

“Yeah yeah,” Eda waved him off “It’s not apple blood, but don’t knock this coffee stuff til you try it,”

Another set of fingers entwined with hers.

“Well I’m looking forward to trying this human beverage,” Raine said with a grin, giving Eda’s hand a squeeze.

Eda grinned right back, feeling a pleasant flush color her cheeks.

Darius sighed “Do you two have to be so sappy all the time?”

Alador sided up next to him and slid an arm around his shoulders “If you’re jealous I can start acting more saccharine as well,”

Darius went stiff, face flushing while Eda and Raine laughed.

The people ahead of them stepped away, leaving the four of them at the head of the line. They stepped up to the counter, the uniformed human behind it beaming at them “Hi welcome to Robin’s Roast Cafe, what can I get for you?”

Eda was still examining the menu when Raine stepped up beside her.

“What’s this?” they asked, pointing at a poster hanging over the edge of the counter.

“The pumpkin spice latte,” the human replied “It’s our most popular seasonal item,”

“I’ll try it,”

Alador stepped up beside them “That does look good, make it two,”

“Well you can’t get more local than that,” Eda heard Darius speak up from behind her “Make it three,”

Ah what the hell.

Eda slapped the stack of human snails– dollars, on the counter “Go ahead and make that four,”

A short while later the four of them sat around a small table outside, staring at four identical paper cups, each topped with a towering spiral of whipped cream and a dusting of spices.

“Alright,” Eda reached out and grabbed her cup “Let’s see what this ‘Pumpkin Spice Latte’ is all about,”

The others all grabbed their cups, bumping them together in a brief toast, before raising them to their lips, each of them taking a deep sip.

Grimacing, Eda forced herself to swallow what was in her mouth before setting her cup back down on the table “Welp, I ain’t doing that again,”

Across from her Darius was doing even worse than she was, a palatable wave of disgust washing over his features as he set his mug down in a way that indicated he’d much rather throw it across the street, or preferably even further away than that “I don’t know what that was but that was not food,”

“Agreed,” Eda muttered.

“Well I like it,” Raine cut in “Sure I wouldn’t have it every day, but as a special treat it’s nice,”

Darius stared at them levelly “Are you sure living in the owl house hasn’t fried your tastebuds?”

Raine narrowed their eyes, then without breaking their gaze with Darius, raised their cup and took another deep sip.

Eda could help but laugh at the half affronted, half disgusted look on Darius’ face “Say Alador what do you think of…”

She trailed off, Darius and Raine picking up on it and following her line of sight. Alador’s initial sip had never stopped. The bottom of the cup raising higher and higher as he continued to gulp down its contents.

Alador let out a quiet gasp, plunking the now empty paper cup back down on the table, blinking around at the three of them, traces of whipped cream still on his face.

“That was good,” he glanced over at Eda, raising a finger to point towards her drink “Are you going to finish that?”

“All yours,” Eda pushed her cup towards him with a chuckle “I’m just glad someone liked this,”

Raine cleared their throat.

“Two someones,”

Alador wasted no time in swigging down the remains of Eda’s drink, to Darius’ mounting horror.

“How can you drink that!? It’s pure sugar underneath an obscene amount of spics!”

Without missing a beat Alador paused in his gulping and glanced towards him “Oh don’t worry, you’re still sweeter,”

Eda hooted with delight at the expression on Darius’ face, only to freeze when she felt Raine’s lips against her cheek.

“I couldn’t agree more,” Raine sat back with a smirk, traces of whipped cream on their upper lip.

Eda could still feel some against her cheek.

Across the table Darius, looking the most bashful she’d ever seen him, gave a small smile and slid his cup over to Aldaor “Well the drinks may be hit or miss, but the company is delightful,”

Recovering, Eda slung an arm around Raine’s shoulders, grinning and pulling them close as they took another sip of their latte “I’ll drink to that,”

Ok but why people gotta be so aggressive about who’s dating who?

I don’t care if you ship Lunter. I like Huntlow. That’s my opinion. No, im not gonna change it coz you think so. Have your opinion, just don’t go barking at me.

In my OPINION: (see the word opinion)-(you can have ur own)

HUNTLOW/WINTER: bestest ship. Works well. They complete eachother and only have a 1 and 1/2 (approx) age difference, which is pretty normal for teens. My personal favourite. Very cute, fluffy and makes u have the fuzzies. They have a good chance of long lasting relationship.

LUNTER: Lunter would work. Lunter is undeniably a great relationship. Only 2 year age gap (approx), also normal teen age. They go well together. But I headcannon them as siblings. HEADCANNON. So for me, Lunter is sweet home Alabama.

*EDIT: I no longer headcannon Lunter as siblings but I do think they they see each other as siblings.

GUNTER: Look, ship what you want but the age difference is too much for me, 4 years, isn’t a lot, but while in teenage years, it’s a bit weird. Maybe when they’re older, like in their 20’s, but as teens? Not so great. They’re closer to brothers. They would support each other. Good relationship.

HUNTRIC/GOLDRIC: Objectively, there is nothing wrong with it. They’d probably get along super well. Same age. But they haven’t even met. And along with my ‘Luz and Hunter Siblings’ headcannon, it would be a brother-in-law, so also quite incest.

*EDIT: one again, headcannon no longer in use

AMITER: They would fight a bit, both having competitive attitudes and lots and lots of trauma. All the characters have trauma but I think Amity and Hunter as a couple would overthrow the trauma scale. Also I’m a Lumity person, so Amiter just doesn’t work for me.

HUNTLOWDRIC: um. Imma have to go with a no. Nothing wrong with it except the fact: Hunter and Edric have never met, Willow has trauma with Amity despite making it up, dating her brother is a little weird, and again it would all revolve back to the siblings thing.

*EDIT: no sibling thing

SKARA AND/OR VINEY X HUNTER: Both of them would be compatible with him, but I headcannon Viney as Lesbian. Skara, she’d be fine. If Willow didn’t exist she’d probably be what I’d ship Hunter with.

VINEARA: Very goods. I likes. Viney x Skara is good, but not my fav Viney ship. Skara sits with bat boy.

VINEMIRA: Best Viney ship. Viney and Emira. The lebanons. Lesbeans. Lesbiabians. Women lovers. Both headcannoned as lesbiansss.

LUMITY: yes. Shows main ship. Cannon. Works well. Help each other. Just yes.

GUSTHOLOMULE: not a popular ship, but I quite enjoy it. Matt is gay af. I think it’s a cool ship.

GUS X BRIA: no. I don’t- why- why. Why is this… I don’t get it.

HUNTER X CAMILA: 👁️👄👁️… [no words] (also goes for EDA X LUZ, LUZ X CAMILA, EDA X LILITH, ODALIA X BELOS, KIKIMORA X BELOS, HUNTER X BELOS, LILITH X BELOS, VEE X CAMILA, HUNTER X EDA, HUNTER X LILITH, HUNTER X KIKIMORA, CALEB X PHILIP, EVELYN X BELOS, [ANYONE NOT TOH] X [ANYONE IN TOH] and other ships like that. RAINE X BELOS and etc.

ODALIA X ALADOR: it was toxic. It- it was horrible. She was using him. Better be divorced.

LILITH X [ANYONE]: look. shes Aroace. I’m specifically talking about LILITH X STEVE. They good friends. Nothing more. Besides, isn’t Steve like.. 20 and Lilith like 40??

DARIUS X ALADOR: look I gotta say I love it. I just love it. But it would be kind of awkward, as then amity and hunter and (headcannoned) Luz and hunter would be siblings lol.

Edit: I MISSED THE FACT AMITY IS A LESBIAN. She cannot date Hunter anyways! *she can but she lesbian so why would she :3

Ayyy finally answering this, friend! Sorry that it took centuries to get to!

The one thing I don't shut up about is Hunter's ensuing depression after Belos's death, contrary to the Hollywood kind of ending where everything becomes sunny and everyone can easily move on. We would see the stuff that a therapist would tick the checkboxes for in a mental status exam: slowing down psychomotor-wise e.g. slower speech, flat moods which are the unsettling polar opposite to the earnest emotional expression we love him so much for, distracted attention span, less tidy appearance, and he'd be sleeping excessively for some time. (full mental health meta on this subject here: link) Camila would be making sure he has plenty of movies to watch on the couch so that he isn't locking himself too much in the basement T_T Darius would be monitoring how he helps to rebuild the Isles so that he doesn't overexert himself.

Amity, the twins and Alador would go for walks to the store, in the woods etc, and this bonding time in restoring their relationships would be so important.

Luz's two main challenges would be: 1. becoming more aware of the domino effect of teaching Philip the light glyph spell in the timepool, especially now that everyone is coming out of survival mode, 2. the guilt surrounding Flapjack...I don't think she'd just move on from puppet!Hunter's words "And then I lost him, helping you. But you still get to have your own palisman?!" God this makes me wonder...what was it that the Hexsquad went through in their minds which led to the beautiful decision to get their red tattoos together? I'm gonna sniffle, jfc.

Gus might be the first person to broach the subject of Flapjack again, since he verbally put the same subject out in the open in For the Future (working with Willow, who took the flyer derby photo off the wall to show to Hunter and trying to reach out to him). It's also in line with how he was the first one to express sadness after they became trapped in the human realm i.e. he broke down crying right away. I love this about him whereby he may excel in Illusion magic but he gets down to the truth right away.

Willow is utterly exhausted and there's still some remaining upset from her breakdown about how much she missed her dads, shouldered things on her own and kept things bottled up. She approaches Camila not long after they leave The Collector's Palace to say that Camila was right, and to say thank you. And she needs a bit of space alone for the upset feelings to run their course.

Mattholomule has more surprises up his sleeve for Gus, lol. Gus just doesn't stop being flabbergasted.

The first person to say anything to Kikimora, who is moping and stewing away somewhere, is of course Luz.

Luz and Hunter more or less switch places emotionally if you compare their TTT and WaD demeanors (in FtF, they were both under somewhat similar emotional strain, in their own arcs). In TTT, Luz was very far from her vibrant self, ruminated on her guilt and slowed down so much, while Hunter was on the move: excitedly exploring his self and interests while being in his comfort zone of wanting to help others (he still had the capacity to do so!). Luz wasn't out exploring and connecting with others: she was in the dark prison of depression. If we flip this for the pre-timeskip era: Hunter would slow down by gradually running out of steam to even help others, and isolate himself before getting better...struggling with the absence of Flapjack and Belos, being frozen in time in terms of this bereavement. While Luz, 1. became unfrozen from her long-term bereavement by beginning to accept that her dad and Papa Titan were gone (an emotional place which Hunter simply cannot reach until many months later), 2. was reunited with Eda and King and on the same page as Camila, and would be on the move seeing what she can do to contribute for the Isles. There is a parallel between both of them wrestling with guilt: Luz's guilt about how her encounter with young Philip led to Belos's regime, Hunter's about the impact of his actions as the Golden Guard.

God this one is tough to lay out in clear detail but...the sleeping arrangements for the Hexsquad during the first few nights...emotions catching up to them...I really wonder what it was, and who would want more of their own space and not trouble others (yet definitely not being at peace with whatever was going through their minds) versus who expressed their need to not be alone at night.. Maybe Luz wanted to be with Eda, Raine and King in the Owl House, Amity would have her space back in Blight Manor, and we have Willow, Gus and Darius extending invitations to Hunter. There's no way I can predict which choice Hunter made, coz he may have gone with an arrangement that would've left the others concerned. Whether he obliged out of politeness or was firm enough to say that he didn't want to burden them...hard to tell. OMT, what if he slept alone BUT the palismen secretly huddled by his side in the night like in this beautiful fanart which is one of my faves??: link

Contrary to Hunter, Vee's response to Belos's death would be far simpler closure because she had zero attachment to Belos. Hell, she wasn't raised by him for an entire childhood. And while she would've had some survivor's guilt, we know that the other basilisks eventually came back to life, unlike (ughhhhh) the Grimwalkers who can't be brought back. These are the clues as to how Vee could open up more, smile brightly, and begin to explore the big wide world around her:

Which means she would've definitely been an important influence for Hunter's recovery.

How long till he could freely smile again? Camilaaaaa...take care of your three precious kids.

I sometimes think back to King’s Tide and how Darius backed down when Hettie threatened Eberwolf, and I think what Raine would’ve done in his situation. Because they are the person who in their debut episode, attempted a one-sided suicide pact to save the isles. Someone who knowingly estranged and hurt Eda, to their own agony, for the sake of Eda’s kids who really needed her and couldn’t risk losing to the rebellion.

There’s also the fact that Raine was able to make the tough, yet healthy, move to cut Eda out of their life when Eda continued to isolate them with secrets about her condition and push them away. So with all that in mind, Raine continues to support this idea of someone who can and WILL make the tough call, do the unpleasant job, for the greater good. It hurts right now and certainly in the short-term, but Raine does have the larger sight to consider it all in the long-term.

Compare that to Darius, whose attachment to his relationships is STRONGLY felt, even occasionally detrimental. He backs down for Eberwolf’s life, even though Eber is dead either way, because he cares too much. Darius clings to the memory of his mentor, to the point that he judges Hunter rather unfairly as his successor. While Alador never brings it up on his own, Darius is the one to initiate continued contact with a signed book, telling Kikimora to relay a message, and then checking Al’s Penstagram account in his free time.

(Makes me wonder if losing Alador and Odalia were really things under Darius’ control either, in addition to the fact that they are their own people capable of making their own decisions. A lack of control in losing people might explain a bit…)

That isn’t to say that Raine is cold and emotionless, either! They’re very in favor of revealing themselves to Eda in Hollow Mind… Though, you could argue it’s because their original reason for estranging her, keeping her kid safe, was at jeopardy to begin with. Contrast that with Darius, who tries to stick to the mission, but when Hunter is brought up, he immediately loses his cool.

Anyhow, this is all to loop back and ask; If that was Raine there. And if it was not just Eberwolf, but even Eda being threatened… Would they back down to Hettie’s threat, or keep going? Because I can actually see them keep going. They very much accepted Eda’s own agency and choice in deciding to sacrifice herself to sabotage the ritual, and only stepped in when it was out of Eda’s hands, and because Luz had asked them to; Luz, one of two reasons Raine had done these difficult things for in the first place.

They’d accepted the murder-suicide pact with Eda, both under the impression it’d save the isles. So with Eda already prepared to die for this… Yeah, I could see Raine just letting it happen, and Eda insisting they do. This is not to judge Darius or Eberwolf; They are their own people with understandable, human flaws. Dana said that Eberwolf trusts Darius a lot, so it’s possible Darius feels more responsible for Eber’s rebellion, and thus the danger they got themselves into. Darius feels very strongly and is very attached to his relationship, he just… clings to people like a pile of goop (I’m sorry).

Whereas with Raine is fascinating, because they can and have made the tough call to cut themselves away from a loved one, for the greater good. An interesting parallel to Eda pushing them away, really, though arguably more justified and healthy in Raine’s case… But even if it’s healthier, does that make it healthy in general?

(Man, Raine and Darius both have their shortcomings as rebels, but their own strengths as well. There’s what I mentioned, but on the other hand Darius was a lot more discreet as a rebel, and remained beneath detection until THE last second. They go well together.)

Again, Raine is hardly cold; Raine gave up Eda and sabotaged their own cause for two kids they never even met and had only heard about once before during the petrification ceremony, having not yet made the familial connection. If that doesn’t betray a bleeding heart, I don’t know what does. Especially since Raine likely related to these kids, guessing correctly that Eda was pushing them away over her curse, and wanted to prevent the tragedy that happened between them and Eda, by reminding Eda to stick with THESE kids this time.

And she did! Raine couldn’t get Eda to stay by their side those years ago, but they avoided repeating history for Luz and King, who also needed Eda. Man, it’s crazy how much is changed and re-contextualized in Eda’s Requiem with the very next episode afterwards.

Anyhow, with Raine being quite the public speaker with their own following, and the aforementioned pattern of making the difficult decision at times to cut others away, even accepting their own death and that of others, all for the greater good… They’re an understated parallel to Philip “I just need to live long enough to see this through” Wittebane, who sacrificed his brother for God’s will. Except, of course. Raine isn’t evil, just forced into actual dilemmas, by Belos himself. Man, so many characters really do reflect different facets of this messed-up puritan, huh?

ok ok i know we're all excited to see the kiddos in conneticut, but i just can't stop thinking. what if the boiling isles become uninhabitable because of the collector reshaping them. and then everyone has to move to the human realm (not permanently ofc, but like just for a while)

anyways, i decided i liked my own idea so much that now i am going to make headcanons about

other owl house characters in the human realm!

eda:

- she's the only one who's actually been to the human realm before, so she basically knows what's up

- still going feral over dumb shiny human objects tho

- absolutely flabbergasted to find out that digging through trashcans is not socially acceptable among humans

- she'll still do it tho, don't think you can stop her

- not allowed outside of the house anymore because camila got tired of dealing with the cops :(

raine:

- extremely confused and a little anxious about what's going on the boiling isles, but still tries to see this as an opportunity to learn

- "[points at human thing] what does this do?? :D"

- luz got them a pronoun pin and explained that it helps humans communicate how they want to be referred to

- "eda, look at this cool thing luz got me!! she said it's called a pronoun pin!!"

- loves spending time in book stores and coffee shops. just places where everyone's quiet and comfortable.

lilith:

- she's literally so excited.

- wants to know everything

- luz, camila and vee take turns explaining human things to her. and also debunking every increasingly strange myth eda's told her.

- really into libraries. she'll gladly spend hours scrolling through every book she can get her hands on.

- turns out she's just as passionate about human history as she is about witch history

- still doesn't quite understand memes but that's ok-

darius:

- pretends to hate human stuff

- doesn't actually hate human stuff

- everyday is a struggle not to comment on humans' fashion choices

- binge watched all seasons of ru-paul's drag race in one week. don't ask how, he just did.

- getting real sick of people asking about his hair

alador:

- experiances Human Realm Physics(tm) for the first time. immediately decides to experiment.

- absolutely despises the number of human clothes that are made out of materials like denim and leather (ew bad sensory experiance no thanks), so he has one outfit. it's a white t-shirt under a purple flannel hoodie and sweatpants and some boots.

- adding onto that, his hair's long enough to tie into a ponytail again. so overall, he just looks like an ordinary single bisexual father of three who hasn't slept in a while. which ironically enough makes him the best one at blending in with humans.

- currently watching big bang theory, please don't spoil anything for him!!

- literally every human just assumes he's dating darius anytime the two are seen together.

steve:

- token mentally stable friend, first one to actually make friends in the human realm.

- he drives around on a motorcycle and says hi to anyone who looks at him. boy just has too much positive energy for people not to be drawn to him.

- loves fizzy drinks!! and hot chocolate!! just human drinks in general!!

- in a week, he's already gathered an entire friendgroup of humans.

- still trying to get everyone else to go to therapy.

A few TOH fic ideas I have been rotating around in my head for MONTHS now;

Coach Approach

I let her keep the fang from the Titan Luz transformation. They also now have different color eyes.

Snake tattoo in honor of Manny. Like from the storyboards.

Still wears Amity's moon 🌒 necklace (also they switched earrings)

I gave her glasses and more belly, like Camila.

Owns a bookstore that sells human and witch books in Bonesborough.

Has already written at least one YA fantasy novel, published under an alias in the human world.

Still writes fanfiction but she only has WiFi to publish a new chapter when the portal to Earth is open.

People stop them for autographs on the street still.

Has learned to master King's glyph language and can now do magic again even without Stringbean.

King can turn her into her Titan form but only for very limited time and they're both weakened for a few minutes after. (Amity likes the Titan form tho 😳)

Their nieces and nephews call them "tía" or "tíe".

Taught both her kids Spanish.

Volunteers at the Bonesborough Orphanage, which is where they got Camilo from.

Sings her kids lullabies, both in English and in Spanish.

Is a consultant for the students learning about the human world at the University of Wild Magic.

Screams at her kids in Spanish when she's mad.

Both moms cook but Luz is the main cook of the household.

Can still lift Amity with their strong nerd arms (Amity swoons).

Amity Noceda-Blight "Mom" (She/her, 45)

Alador's hook nose.

Abomination hair like Darius.

A bit taller than Luz (by a few centimeters).

Thicc thighs save lives (broke Luz's neck by sitting on her face at least once).

Helps Hooty take care of the museum now that Lilith retired.

Still goes to read to kids at the library. (Sometimes Luz comes with her!)

Working full time as an abomination inventor/mechanic/engineer. Alador is also retired.

Has tried dyeing her hair lots of different colors before settling on this look.

Can turn into an abomination like Darius when she's angry.

Luz and Camila taught her some human food recipes, she finally understands that humans can't eat fairy pie.

Her nieces and nephews call her "Aunt Mittens".

Has to remind Luz to take their meds every morning.

Don't talk to her unless she's had her coffee.

She's the one that helps the kids do their hair.

Azúl Noceda-Blight (He/they, 8)

I wanted his name to be something more original. Too many people name their Lumity kids Azura. I went with Azúl because it's similar to Azura but not exactly the same, it's a Spanish name and it goes well with the character design.

Artificial pregnancy (Luz was the pregnant one).

The blue eyes are from Odalia, who's not in their life at all.

Mom and grandpa's nose.

Half-witch half-human actually results in very powerful offspring. As evidenced by the Clawthorne family. Azúl is stronger than you think.

Spends a lot of time with Uncle Gus, Aunt Em and Uncle Ed practicing his illusions. They're bad influences on him.

Is a very creative child and loves to draw, like their mamá.

Likes going to see Abu Camila on the human realm and help her at the vet clinic.

Healing magic and Illusion magic together make for a good anesthesiologist.

Mamá takes them to the human world to go trick or treating on Halloween.

Likes to play videogames with Uncles Gus and Hunter.

Wears a hat to hide their ears in the human world.

Doesn't really have any interest on the Azura books but likes it when mom reads Otabin to him.

Camilo Noceda-Blight "Milo" (He/him, 6)

Bipedal rat demon. Has a vial sac to do magic with.

They got him from the Bonesborough Orphanage when he was a baby rat. His biological parents are unknown.

Named after Abuela.

Azúl was a toddler when they got him but he was still very excited to have someone else to play with.

Milo's a very shy little guy and gets scared easily. Doesn't like initiating conversations unless he's comfortable. Azúl does a lot of the talking for him.

Does mouse noises a lot of the time. 🐭🐁🐀

Weirdly gets along well with Ghost.

Wanted to take Beast Keeping to understand creatures of the Boiling Isles a little better. Wanted to take Potions because he likes cooking.

Gets along really well with Eberwolf.

When visiting the human world, he wears a Concealer Stone that makes him look human with an illusion.

Tía Vee helps him whenever he has issues with his disguise.

Loves his adopted family a lot but is curious about his bio relatives sometimes.

- Alador is definitely the little spoon and Darius is the big spoon

- When Hunter and Amity found out they're Dad's are dating, Amity supported Alador and Darius being together but she vows to kill Darius if he hurts Alador and Hunter was very happy but also vowed to kill Alador if he broke Darius's heart again

- Emira and Edric like to play pranks on Hunter but are sad that they're not the oldest anymore (it's a joke I made cause you know Hunter is a clone of a guy from the 1600)

- Amity asks Darius for dating advice whenever she wants to go on a date with Luz

- Darius and Alador's relationship in the past was okay but Alador's parents didn't approve of their relationship so they forced Alador away from Darius and forced him to marry Odalia and that's why Hunter vows to kill Alador if he breaks Darius's heart

- Whenever Alador has nightmares Darius makes sure to calm him down and to make sure he's okay

- NEVER try to hurt Hunter if you do Darius will make sure you'll be in healing coven for 10 years

- Edric and Emira love their new dad mostly cause Edric has a cool beast uncle and also cause Emira has someone to help her with fashion

- Darius teases Hunter about his crush on Willow

- Darius helps Amity get ready for her dates with Luz like give her makeup tips and helps her with choice of clothing

- Eberwolf and Edric are besties

- In the first week of Alador and Darius being together whenever they would go to sleep Alador would go to the sofa and Darius asked "Why are you going to the sofa?" And Alador was like "oh yeah well Odalia made me sleep on the sofa if I didn't finish work which made me sleep on the sofa for half my marriage" and Darius said "Oh...Mind telling me where she lives again...?"

- Hunter and Luz make little schemes sometimes to get back at Emira and Edric for pranking them

- When Amity told Darius about what Luz said when they had their first kiss he was like "Reminds me of you're dad when we younger" cause when they were younger and had their first kiss Alador said and I quote "Oh Titan" while with the face of a tomato ( I TRIED TO MAKE IT SOUND FUNNY)

- Alador and the kids have gotten closer and has gotten to know them better like he now he knows that Amity is dating a human and respects that, he knows that Edric likes beastkeeping and sometimes goes outside with him to find some animals and he helps Emira to learn more healing spells

- Alador is AMAZED by Darius's abomination form. At times he asks if it only happens when he's angry

- The ONLY person that can cook in this household is Darius

- Hunter invites Gus over to play games and practice flyer derby with him

- Hunter now attends Hexside in all the tracks like Luz

- Alador still makes Abomatrons BUT to only help rebuild the Boiling Isles and he doesn't overwork himself like how Odalia did to him

- Alador doesn't like to talk to his parents due to them splitting Darius and him apart when they were younger

- Edric, Emira, Amity and Hunter like to go on adventures with Eda even though Darius tells them not too

- Alador is DEFINITELY touch starved due to him not receiving alot of affection when he was with Odalia but with Darius he feels like he's in heaven

- Alador LOVES it whenever Darius peppers his face with kisses and when he gives him little pecks on his neck

- Darius tries to convince Hunter to ask Willow out but he's very shy whenever he thinks about it

- Darius is very concerned about the amount of coffee that Alador drinks per day

- Alador now takes better care of himself

- Emira and Viney have crushes on each other but they're scared that the other one will reject them

- After the day of Unity incident the CATTS went to their base with some other people including Alador. Darius felt repulsed cause of what Alador did to their relationship in the past but at the same time was happy to see him

- Darius made a little bird plushy for Hunter when he was little

- Darius was FURIOUS when he learned what Belos did to Hunter in the human realm

- Alador and Hunter are autistic

You had been researching for so long on how to help this kid out. Hunter had captured your little heart and stole it all for himself. You adore the kid to pieces, and your boyfriend may never admit it, but he adored the angry blonde just as much as you did. You har been driven mad, trying to find this kid. To be fair so had he, but once the two of you had him he finally took a rest. You however, did not. In fact you just went on to do experiments, to keep yourself busy perhaps?

You never had the best track record for sleeping well, but this was just another level of bad. I mean seriously, it’s like you were refusing to sleep at this point. He knows you had a lot going on, a lot of pressure to figure out how to stop Belos, get Luz home, and make sure hunter and edas son king were also safe. So much to worry about, you were even worried about Eda and lilith themselves. It was just like you to worry, and he found this to be a sweet trait about you. He loves it about you in fact, but right now it only proved to worry him in turn. He had told you so many times to take a break and get some rest but you refused.

He was actually getting annoyed with you about it. Maybe because it felt like you were ignoring him, to a degree you were. You weren’t giving him his morning hug and goodnight kiss. Or listening to him complain about alador or even his teasing. He was getting tired of sleeping in his bed alone, without you by his side clinging to him. It feels so cold on his bed. What turned into dramatic whines became huffs and puffs of annoyance. Like him, very dramatic. You didn’t have the time for his immaturity, was how you had reasoned it.

It had been 3 whole days since you had gotten proper sleep, the day of unity was closing in. You were so tired.

“Hun, just sleep.” “No!!! I’m so close to figuring this out!”

“You should just get some rest, we have a whole week to figure this out. Together…. And you’re ignoring me again.. aren’t you?”

“You will fall asleep eventually, you know?” “No I won’t!”

That’s how many of your conversations went, but not today. You had finally succumbed to your slumber.

Darius walked into your shared home, half expecting those dark eyebags to be even darker, but he was left with a pleasant surprise. You had fallen asleep at your desk. He shook his head. He should be angry, but you look so cute when you sleep. He couldn’t help the smile that crawled on his face.

“Knew you’d fall asleep you worried dummy.”

a gentle rain pitter patters against the windows of darius' spare room as he and alador attempt to clean out the space. they'd recently decided, along with the children, that there was more than enough room at the blight manor for darius and hunter to move in and have their own private spaces, so they have spent the better half of the day sorting through darius' (many) possessions with some good natured bickering mixed in.

they stumble upon a shallow box filled with darius' old hexside yearbooks. alador flashes a grin at darius, and, before the latter has a chance to protest, pulls out the top book and yanks it open to a random page. darius, ever dramatic, heaves a sigh and concedes that he supposes they can take a break and have a little stroll down memory lane.

they spend what must be an hour or two leafing through the pages, pointing out pictures that evoked memories both good and bad and laughing at all the inside jokes and cheesy signatures scribbled by their classmates on the last few pages. the years seem to melt away with each minute, and it almost feels like they're teenagers again, laughing easy without a care in the world.

as they make their way through the book from their junior year, there's an ear-marked page that alador stops on, his finger tracing along the surface as he passes from one photo to the next. at the center of the page, he notices one picture within the collage that he's never seen before: it's a candid shot of him and darius slow dancing at that year's grom. he still vividly remembers the day darius had asked him out to the dance and then laughing like a jackass when alador's entire face lit up a fierce shade of red. alador looks up from the page at the man sitting next to him, who rolls his eyes, but there's an unmistakable fond smile tugging at his lips.

"bet you it was raine who snapped that one," darius says simply, reaching over to turn the page. a calloused hand catches his before he can do so. darius glances at alador as the latter sets aside the yearbook and moves to stand up, pulling gently on darius' hand to get him to rise as well.

alador leans in close to darius and casually drapes his arms over darius' shoulders, a crooked smile on his lips. "do you remember the song they were playing then?"

darius snorts, shaking his head in disbelief before gently knocking their foreheads together. "of course i do, idiot," he murmurs, placing his hands on alador's hips before he begins to hum the tune they'd danced to decades ago.

they sway in the middle of the room just like that, chuckling as they try not to bump into any of the boxes sprawled out on the floor around them. they're not youngsters anymore, darius thinks idly as he traces the soft wrinkles and lines around alador's eyes with his own. they've lived enough years to fill a whole lot more of those books with memories, a few shared but most separate. hopefully that dynamic will shift the opposite way now as they build a future together.

Hey, folks.

The new/last episode should broadcast in about fifteen minutes. I’m excited? Terrified? Feels weird, man, feels really weird. I mean, stories you love coming to an end is always weird, but also this is the first time I’ve liveblogged something that was actively airing, which makes everything all the more tied up together, you know?

I’m gonna blog it tomorrow, starting whenever I get up in the morning. Not gonna try to start tonight; not only would it be weird to start blogging when other people are still processing, I have a VtM game in about half an hour :)

I’ll get up, make some tea, and blog.

In the meantime, here’s some thoughts on what I… expect? Hope for? Fear?

If my long chain of assumptions based on seeing an outfit is correct and the Collector is indeed dropping people into their own worst nightmares, that is absolutely going to get turned around on him by accident.

I said it before, but Camila is going to be the one to really get through to the Collector.

I saw the tagline was like “the fate of the Isles rests on a cursed witch, a human, and a little king” and that is definitely going to refer not just to Eda, Luz, and King, but also another set of people.

RAE DA KISS. P L EASE. No okay they don’t need to kiss but let there be some indication that they’re going to actually talk and patch things up.

I want somebody other than Hunter to come away with a scar. (Okay Luz has her brow scar too but I want somebody else.) This is a me thing, I guess, but magic leaving marks is fascinating. I know they probably couldn’t get away with it, but there’s a part of me really expecting that whole chunk of Raine’s ear with the earring to just. Fall off.

If Luz is indeed imagining herself as Belos bc she thinks she’s That Much At Fault, her new big brother is going to shake her by the ear because what the hell is she talking about.

That mysterious figure in the In-Between… having looked at it, zoomed in, a couple more times, it definitely looks like a Titan, which makes me wonder if the In-Between is kind of… the afterlife? Given that they wouldn’t be introducing a random Titan at this point, that’s either King’s dad (likely) or King from the future (unlikely imo).

I think some kind of future epilogue is pretty likely, even if that’s just still images over the credits. If there are grown-up designs for the kids, I expect the fan artists to be all over them immediately lol.

Maybe it’s too minor, they’re low on time, but I would love it if Steve and Matt got to share a screen, even for a moment. Let Them Be Bros.

I wanna know what the effects of Having Been Drained are on the adult witches, actually, once they’re no longer puppets— Eda and Lily didn’t have magic at the time of the spell, so it’d be different for them. Are they able to access their magic again? Are the coven seals still in effect? We didn’t see Kikimora do any actual magic of her own, as far as I recall, just piloted the Abomatron. Hmm.

I have further thoughts but I should post this now.

So this has me thinking instead of sleeping.

Hunter as Alador and Willow as Darius? Maybe I'm looking to deep into this but this gives us a deeper look at Aladors and Darius relationship. So, does this mean that Alador and Darius were close and pretty much crushing on each other? Was Darius the one that flirted with Alador and Alador was a blushing mess nerd. I think it does! Other wise they wouldn't be paralleling. So Alador amd Darius were just a couple of teens that were into each other, yet Alador ended up with Odalia? Who isn't even in the picture?

So, another thing in this picture is that Darius has the cape on. Most likely the Golden Guards cape. So was Darius the late bloomer of the group? Since he is the Willow in his group. If so, that gives us more details about his past. Late bloomer of the school but has powerful potential in one type of magic. The Golden Gaurd must've taken notice of this and took Darius under his wing and trained him. Cute, sweet, a fatherly kind if relationship. Here's what I think happened! And again, I may be reaching, and projecting of course.

When The Golden Gaurd died, there's no way Darius wasn't devastated. Darius must've been traumatized and broken. I know I would. He must've lost all his confidence at the moment and was weak and vulnerable for a good amount of time. And this caused a crack in his relationship with Alador. Since Darius still seems close friends with Raine, and Eda and Lilith don't seem to have any beef with him, it's safe to say they remained friends with Darius and were there for him. Good! Raine and Darius are theater mates! Theater kids stick together no matter what. Alador must've tried being there for him, because we know Alador is a sweet heart. But then we have Odalia. The little son of witch. Maybe Odalia did like Alador, she was blushing in that picture during the brawl. So of course she must've taken this vulnerable stage of Darius amd Aladors relationship to her advantage. Wedged herself between them. Some how, she must've taken this as an opportunity to make Alador cut ties with Darius or at least break their relationship. I've seen many people like her before who always manage to convince a person that someone else is bad for them and break ties with them. Heck, I almost lost a friend like that before she finally broke up with that guy!

So in summery, Alador and Darius did like each other. Darius experienced something traumatizing making his relationship with Alador vulnerable. Odalia took advantage of it and convinced Alador to break ties with Darius. And of course Eda, Raine and Lilith must've been hurt somehow during the situation. Watching the friend grouo get slowly destroyed. If this is the case...........

*slowly places Darius on the top of my favorite charater lists. Next to Lilith, Hooty and Hunter.*

Ok, so if this is the case, I'm half a Alador x Darius shipper. 😅 Let me explain! As someone who was in this exact position before, I wouldn't want to get with Alador anymore. The fault does go both ways but the history is just too broken and rough to get together in the futuer. Recreate a friendship is possible but a romantic one? Not really. So I ship young Darius and Alador, not adult them. I like to head canon that they were a couple or one of those, friends but their dating without knowing it.

It would also be cute if Darius saw Hunter and Willow together and saw himself and Alador in them. Reminded of his relationship with Alador. So Darius does what he can to help Hunter keep his relationship with Willow and avoid it from breaking like his relationship with Alador. Besides, I enjoy the thought of Alador reconnecting with his kids first. And then he can try to fix his friendship with the others. Because let's face it, Eda doesn't seem very fond of Alador as adults. But that could be because Alador let his wife torment Luz with an Abomination robot.

Fandom Dissection: The Owl House

Warning: This post will contain spoilers for The Owl House

The Basics:

The Owl House is a Disney Channel cartoon that began airing in 2020, and just recently finished.

The story follows Luz Noceda, a human girl obsessed with magic who discovers a portal to The Demon Realm. There she meets Eda The Owl Lady, a wild witch as well as someone hiding from The Emperor’s Coven. She also meets King, the adorable self proclaimed “King of Demons”. Luz decides to stay in The Demon Realm so she can learn magic.

The show became immensely popular for various reasons. These include the characters, writing, animation, music, world-building and LGBT representation. However, these things do not solely build a fandom. So let’s apply my Six Elements to this show.

1. Recognizable Art style/Aesthetic:

The Owl House has a very recognizable aesthetic, very much playing into the fantasy genre while also having it’s own spin. It is more monstrous and macabre then your average fantasy school story but that’s part of the charm. And despite that, the imagery and backgrounds are surprisingly gorgeous.

In regards to character designs, many of the residents of The Demon Realm look like normal humans, save for the pointy ears. However some characters like Boscha inexplicably have more monstrous features. This makes the options for oc designs pretty expansive.

2. Faction System:

The Owl House has its own Faction System, that being The Covens. These nine forms of magic are a major element of the shows world building. The nine types of magic are: Abomination, Bard, Beast Keeping, Construction, Healing, Illusion, Oracle, Plant and Potions. Despite the coven system being criticized in the show, I often see fans associate themselves with one or multiple of the nine types of magic. The system is very much built to use as a jumping off point for a self insert or sona. This system also is interesting from a world building perspective.

3. World Building:

Speaking of world building, The Owl House has quite a bit of interesting world building. The Boiling Isles is a world that many people are fascinated with. The world is fascinating and filled with mysteries. The rules are set up and correlate with the story in an interesting way. The world and characters are also fit for many different types of AUs. Wholesome AUs, angsty AUs, or both.

4. Theories and Headcanons:

Like many modern cartoons, The Owl House had a strong theory following. It set up interesting mysteries about the lore of The Boiling Isles, Hunter’s Origins, Belos’s plan and The Collector as a whole. All of which were heavily speculated on in the fandom. The series is also perfect for headcanons. The characters are so expansive and likable, and due to many plot threads being cut by the shortened series, there’s room for fanon to step in where canon was unable to be fully developed.

5. Shipping:

Many people jumped on this show as a result of the viral news of Luz being canonically Bi, Amity being canonically a lesbian, and the possibility that they might get together being revealed near the end of Season One. This was when the show really became well known. And as such, Lumity (Luz X Amity) became the most talked about element of the show.

However there are other ships that heavily impact the fandom. The two big ones being Raeda (Raine X Eda) and Huntlow (Hunter X Willow), sometimes called Winter.

These three ships make up the bulk of shipping content for The Owl House, however some rarepairs exist like Alador X Darius. 6. Tumblr Sexyman:

Speaking of Alador and Darius, they are the two who fit the tumblr sexyman mold the best. However there are also similar followings for Raine and Eda.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, The Owl House is a very special show. It is unlikely we will ever see a show like it again. Despite how much it was screwed over by Disney, the show managed to have a pretty satisfying finale. Plus it made huge steps in representation, with canonical same-gender couples, non-binary characters and even an aroace character. It was dark but funny, sweet but heartwrenching, it was truly something special. It makes sense why it gained such a massive following.
