Alone for Valentine's

Summary: You usually spend Valentines' on your own, but not today.

You don’t want to be alone for Valentine’s and that’s all you can think about. Since you cared enough about the festivity, you have spent Valentine’s on your own. That doesn't mean you haven't had fun with other people or never had a partner. But mysteriously, when Valentine’s came around, you always found yourself with nothing but yourself. As such, some part of you came to hate the celebration. Everyone was so disgustingly happy and in love that it made you sick. Thus, during that date every year, you moved on from craving company to seeking solitude. Moving into the bunker with Sam and Dean didn’t change your habit, or at least you didn’t expect it to.

Officially, this was going to be your first year with the brothers, and you had all the intention to remain in bed with a big tub of ice cream watching Netflix until your eyes bled out. Well, maybe that’s an exaggeration, but all the same. That indeed was your plan until you went into the kitchen and found Dean Winchester with the last of the ice cream in his hands. First, it was surprising to find him in his PJs instead of in something alluring, ready to go out. You expected nothing less, considering his view of the festivity.

“What are you doing here?” You asked, clearly surprised.

“Just… getting ice cream?” He sounds unsure of your questioning.

You cough awkwardly, “yeah, I see that, but why aren’t you out there, you know, being Dean with the ladies?”

He laughs with that smile that you like so much, “being Dean? What is that supposed to mean?” You don’t answer, instead, your eyes betray you when you look at the ice cream in his hands. It’s your favorite. Dean notices immediately, “do you want to share? I’m binge-watching Dr. Sexy right now, so maybe you want to join.”

Dr. Sexy wasn’t really on your plans, but it doesn’t sound too bad. “Yeah, ok, it’s not like I have pressing matters to attend to.” You try to appear as if you don’t care for your lack of a date.

Dean doesn’t comment on it, though, he’s a gentleman and merely signals you toward his room. Maybe it’s the fact that he clearly doesn’t have a date either. To be honest, it’s strange that he doesn’t have company for Valentine’s, but you’re not going to question your sudden good fortune because, for once in your life, you won’t have to spend Valentine’s alone.
