Reylo Proud

Reylo has finally happened, officially. With the holidays just coming in 6 days, I just wanna thank the Reylo fam/ fandom, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley and of course, our lord and savior, Rian Johnson. Hi everyone! Some of you may remember me (Juulna on AO3) and/or this story (or its beautiful art!). It was originally posted in July 2016 and then reposted after it was hacked and removed -- but that's old news now. As you will read in the notes of the podfic, this podfic came to be because @perrydowning saw I was struggling with recording one of her gigantic fics that was a post-TLJ fic (for reasons other than length). The goddess she is, she suggested I... as a gift for her instead of recording one of her fics... record this one instead. For her. For me. To heal. To regain some part of my sense of self back as I prepare to return to Star Wars and completing my other fics. This fic was the only one untouched by my ex's hatred of me writing fanfic.

And Perry was right. By the Force, she was right. This was healing.

I hope you can come on this journey with me, whether that's listening along as I read my little baby... well, my baby Force Baby fic. :P... or whether that's reading the story yourself. (When I first wrote this, there was no official tag "Pregnancy Via the Force" and I LOVE THAT IT IS ONE NOW!!!! I must find all of these fics and consume them now. Right this instant. :D)

Thank you for welcoming me back so warmly, Reylos, time and time again, as I've tried to get over my trauma. TFA is my favourite of the movies, my favourite type of fics written for Reylo, and I hope that I can bring some of you to love it as much as so many of us do!

Sunday #5 - It’s been over a full month now since the first time I saw TLJ, and a few hours since I saw it for the 5th time! 

A few things have happened in fandom this week. Star Wars made a Reylo joke on Twitter - asking for favorite ships, but saying Rey and Kylo didn’t count. 

@arbutus-blossoms had the nice idea to make January 17th Reydar day, in celebration of the 2-year-anniversary of the famous Matt the Radar Technician skit on SNL. If you haven’t seen it since, you’re missing out on a lot of jokes, so watch it! I am curious about the art this day will provide. :-) I love Reydar stuff.

Beholding the Golden Globes, many fans noticed Ewan McGregor was growing his Obi-Wan beard, and this had lead to many of them (and me) hoping he would reprise the role in a few years. Ewan himself says that he doesn’t know more about it than we do - but I don’t believe him. :-P 

In the upcoming week, I know I’ll post another artist promo for the Reylo Artist Commissions, but if you are an artist who would like to contribute, please do! I’m slowly running out of submissions and I want to continue the promo’s another week or two! 

Besides that I’ll be posting more “Reylo Fandom Ideas” - just small ideas on how to make the fandom even better than it already is. Those will provide hints and tips for your online fandom experiences, but also topics for discussions so we can get to know one another better. :-)

1. What’s your first memory of Star Wars?

The promotional cups from McDonald’s when episodes 1-3 came out. My first experience watching the films came years later during a tnt marathon of all the episodes and I’ve been hooked since.

2. Which Star Wars character you most relate to?

I’d have to say Finn, my hearts always in the right place but sometimes I don’t think before I act and end up running through a desert all sweaty and stuff lol.

3. Sith or Jedi, which philosophy makes the more sense?

I’m a Sith, only in the sense that as humans we are made to feel emotion and that cannot and should not be suppressed. I’m not into the chaos, revenge, hatred aspects but personally my opinion is the force is the force it’s not inherently good or bad it depends on the one using it.

4. Are you the kind of fan who reads comic books and novels and watches the cartoons or do you stick to the movies?

I’m the kind that enjoys the movies and fan fictions! Shout out to the writers who make waiting for the next movie tolerable!

5. If you could choose any director to direct a Star Wars movie, who would it be?

I know it’s a fools fantasy but I’d like to see George Lucas finish what he started.

6. What is your dream ending for Episode IX?

Kylo and Rey bringing balance to the Force and the Galaxy. Them fulfilling the prophecy and becoming the “Chosen Ones”, and getting married with 2.5 kids🤓(Reylo)

7. Do you have an uncommon ship you do not dare to share with others because it is too strange (mine is Finn X Phasma)?

8. What is your favorite Star Wars music composition?

The trailer for the Last Jedi that was Kylo and Rey’s themes mixed together.

9. What’s your dream spin-off Star Wars movie?

I can’t even begin to think of one honestly.

10. Star Wars movies have such fantastic actors. Who do you think is most deserving of praise?

All of them. Throughout the years I’ve yet to see an actor or actress in the series that haven’t given their all and truly gave the experience of “this is really happening in a Galaxy far far away”.

11. Make a Star Wars character say something you wish they had in the movies. (The last Jedi-after defeating the pretorean guards)

Kylo stands and Rey runs into his arms hugging him and thanking him before worrying about the resistance ships… They could’ve at least done that Disney!
