maybe I interpreted this wrong, but I truly don't understand the argument that this was a peaceful exit for laudna.

she died confused. confused. another message to someone instead of her own person. the raven queen's embrace actually being delilah, her murderer and manipulator, pulling her back, being the last embrace she'd feel. FCG's gentle repose stopping something from happening to her body. that is not peace.

" just a short stop, and that is all -- " she reassures. how exhausted she was with the sun bearing down on them. in more moderate climes, the au ra didn't mind such long travels .. but trekking through thanalan was proving to be difficult. she wasn't used to this like she was the wind and climes of la noscea. there was so little shade, even. just malms and malms of sand, and mountains. " we .. " she yawns, before continue, " we don't have much further, do we ? i may need a break as soon as we reach ul dah, if time allows. " / for thancred !

Thancred had just noticed that Chidori was starting to lag behind, turning as she spoke he paused his steps and turned upon his heel a little to return to her side.

There was some low set and sparse trees and shrubs that cast enough shadow if you were snake or insect perhaps, but alas nothing for them to settle in. Thancred did his best providing a small wall of shadow for the woman, angling himself against the sun.

"Perhaps a bell longer," Thancred admitted, not exactly a short distance, but doable. "If you would like there are some stone formations just a little further ahead we can rest beside until the sunsets, you can rest there" he suggests, tugging his own flask from his hip and extending it towards Chidori.

He assumed that the heat would be no such issue for her, but he supposes he underestimated what living in the cold would acclimate one to.

"Let's make it that far and sit, I could do with getting some of this sand out of my boots,"
