The numbers on debit cards would slowly turn red one by one to indicate when you were getting low on funds.

hi everyone, so i just got a scam text that mentioned the first four digits of my debit card, and they were correct. but i looked it up, and apparently the bank that you use is identified by the first 6-9 digits of your card number, so if scammers know what bank you use they can pretty easily figure out the first four digits of your debit card. i just figured id share since i didnt know this and i cant be the only one.

No fraudulent purchases
Fraud; Deceit; Trickery, An Imposter, a Cheat. To put it lightly, not a nice person.  If you’ve ever been a victim of fraud, you’re not alone. I had my bank account emptied right before Christmas one year when my daughter was little- I eventually got it back, but if it wasn’t for my mom still being around to lend me the money while I waited, I would have had to explain to my 5-year-old daughter…

Nochargebacks.ca provides an online gateway or payment gateway, giving you and your customers peace of mind. With a nochargebacks.ca payment gateway, your clientele can spend money on their credit cards all around the world, and you receive payment within hours instead of having to wait 6 to 8 weeks to see reimbursement in your account.
With nochargebacks.ca, there is no more worrying about fraudulent purchases or having to refund your customers.
The only way a chargeback happens is if the customer doesn’t receive their merchandise following online payment. And, with the additional security in place, this almost never happens.
Why choose an Online Gateway with fraud protection
Online gateways have a number of benefits, but the greatest one is that, because of the fraud protection, the rates are cheaper. When both banks and merchants are saved the hassle of having customers call to complain that someone used their card to order a ten thousand dollar watch, they are happier.
Choose nochargebacks.ca. Better rates for you and your company, and better statistics next year from the Canadian Anti-Fraud Center!

What's To Expect With a High-Risk Merchant Account?
The privilege of accepting debit cards includes a few huge downfalls. That is valid, anyway, which provider do you manage? To work with a High-Risk Merchant Account provider, be that as it may, the expense will be higher in various ways.
Outrageous expenses and terms
Providers gaining practical experience in High-Risk Merchant Account normally charge higher-than-normal costs and demand strict contract conditions. Several providers work in backing merchants that significant other high-risk processors have turned down. Typically, the costs and contracts these associations require will commonly be more strict than regular merchant processing.
Predatory practitioners
Unfortunately, there are a couple of scammers out there who target merchants in tough situations. They offer help at absurd expenses and based on iron-clad contracts that will be almost difficult to escape. Before you sign with any service provider, make certain to do an investigation, look at reviews, and investigate reports from the Better Business Bureau and other advocate groups. Finally, consistently read (or even better, get your attorney to scrutinize) the fine print.
Revenue-limiting reserves
High-Risk Merchant Account reserves are a way for the payment processor to support its bets. If something turns out badly for you, your acquirer will be protected from misfortune by the account reserve. There are three fundamental kinds of reserves:
• An up-front reserve permits the processor to keep all assets from credit card transactions until a reserve balance is met. • With a rolling reserve, providers keep a percentage of your regular revenue and hold it briefly, returning the money as various assets become accessible. • With a fixed (capped) reserve, the acquirer keeps funds up to a predetermined hold cap. At the point when the cap is reached, they won't keep additional funds except if the reserve is tapped.
Conclusion
Various traditional processors could reject a business that causes more chargebacks. Thus, it can once in a while be important to search out High-Risk Merchant Account services. Be that as it may, where do you start?
You need to search for legitimate processors who work in High-Risk Merchant Account solutions. Nevertheless, before you pick a payment processor, guarantee you scour their fine print for terms and conditions and take careful notice of their costs. Each stage is unique. One could give choices that are more qualified for your business than what a competitor offers.

When I was 16, I remember asking my father how cards work when he was trying to pay for my book at Higginbotham. I remember my father struggling to explain the second/ third level of its workings because he did not intricately understand what was happening behind that plastic card swiped on the POS machine which looked like a pencil box and Voila! the book is yours.
Mind you, this was at least 35 years after the famous “Fresno Drop” by Bank of America in 1958 that led to the eventual birth of Visa. The story goes that, one day Bank Of America, sent plastic cards to unassuming customers for them to avail credit on all their purchases from consumer durables to smaller personal effects. It became unbelievably popular, although resulting in BOA soaking up a lot of bad debts initially (up to $20 Mn in those days).
Why am I talking about how Visa was born? Because even the US was not always a credit-led-consumption-driven country as late as 65 years back. Credit cards just “Product-led growth (ed)” their way into the wallets of consumers across the globe in the pre-internet era making Visa and Mastercard together a Trillion Dollars in market capitalisation today. We are staring at such a watershed moment with credit on UPI. I've had such a shit fucking day.
I was walking from school to this shopping center cause I wanted to buy a shirt I had seen a few days ago when I reached into my pocket to find my debit card gone. I searched all my pockets, texted my sister to ask her to look for it at home, and nothing. I realized it had probably fallen out of my pocket this morning and when I got home and checked my account it was blocked. I was scared it meant whoever stole it figured out how to change my pin or something and freaked out. The bank didn't work past 4:30 and it was like 5 and we tried calling them but nothing.
I then suffered for like an hour, thinking that mY 400 BAM WHICH IS LIKE 200 EUROS WAS GONE POOF, but then I remembered someone had called me while I was in class this morning but I didn't answer thinking it was a wrong number. So we called it and found out it was the fucking bank. So they were the ones that blocked my card cuz someone was probably trying to extract money but didn't know the pin so it is very probable that not a single cent was spent but I won't know for sure until Monday because they don't do weekends.
I was minutes away from killing myself but thankfully I might not have to haha :).
I'm done now. But god it was probably one of the most stressful moments of my recent years.
