Space Riders AU - @onyxonline Eve Ewe - @lavendersartistry
This is a angst/wholesome fic for onyxonline's Space Riders AU! This is mainly centered on the headcanoned friendship between DogDay and my OC Eve Ewe! Please check Onyx out, their work is super cool!
Tumblr media
IN MY LIL GOOBER BRAIN AND MY PARTICIPATION, THEY ARE FRIENDS YOUR HONOR- Now onto the fic✨✨
The gardens of the palace seemed so silent since the last visit of schooling children touring the home of the soon-to-be queen. It was nice to have the planet still lively after the loss of their late royals from the war, despite the princesses going different paths to keep their home afloat.
Eve could only glance back at the throne room from the gardens, resting under the star wisteria as she quietly read. She couldn't get the memories from her head about the war. It felt like only yesterday that it was announced by the council that her coronation would be near.
If only she could have saved-
"Princess? Are you alright?"
Eve suddenly flinched at the sound of someone calling for her and quickly turned her head. She sighed, noticing it was only her friend DogDay.
"I'm alright. And please, we went over this. You can call me Eve or Evie, friends don't have to be formal."
The captain scratched the back of his head in embarrassment and sat next to the princess. To him, it felt like not too long ago when they first met each other. And befriending a princess, a almost queen, felt too much of a dream to the sunshine critter.
"I know, but I can't really help it. You're becoming big top while I'm just a captain. Besides, I don't think the council or your guard would like it if I just called you that."
Eve stifled a laugh and closed her book, leaning her back to the trunk of the tree.
Ever since she was 5, the council was harsh on her. From lady etiquette to lessons on all preparation for becoming queen of her planet, Eve never truly got to enjoy the life of a normal person. To meet friends, to find love.
Just being happy.
"Those old birds would have the stingrays after you if that happened. But don't worry about Bolt, he's just protective."
DogDay rolled his eyes yet smiled at his friend's enthusiasm. He looked up to the stars, suddenly frowning at the forcefield that clouded the clear sight of the twinkling lights.
He knew that it was necessary, after the war. And with the Prototype out creating chaos, it was definitely needed. But he couldn't shake away the feeling from when Bolt informed him about Eve's dream that one night.
It was a vision, a written destiny almost. And the sunny hound couldn't let that fate take away his friend.
"So what were you reading? Seemed a bit uneventful."
Eve looked back at her book and grazed her hand at the leather covering.
The book was about the biology of the planet's most docile creature: Astral Jellyfish. It was a favorite of Eve's and it was a pleasant memory to see a very large one for the first time.
"The astral jellyfish. You know, my favorite creature in all my planet?"
"You mean the one creature that stung me?"
Eve burst out laughing at his comment while DogDay lightly glared at her.
"It's not funny!"
"It's actually a little funny!"
DogDay huffed and crossed his arms in protest to her laughing but he couldn't help but let a little smile appear on his face to see her laugh and be happy for once.
Eve quickly calmed herself and smiled back.
"You should give them another try. Maybe this time, you won't startle it and it'll let you pet it."
The captain groaned again and stood up.
"How long will you remind me of that?"
"Till you're a veteran."
"Great..."
The hound was being sarcastic. As long as something made the princess smile despite the rough times, that was enough for him.
The two kept conversing in the silence in the gardens: talking about the crew's wacky moments during missions, meeting the mysterious "Angel", Eve's stressful schedules, and other things.
Unbeknownst to them, the astral jellyfish had already welcomed themselves in mindlessly. A few rested near Eve while others floated around DogDay and some pestered him.
Eve could only hold back a laugh as the captain tried shooing away the creatures.
"Still not a fan of them?"
"The day I pet them is when I let CatNap drive the ship for a mission."

The story isn’t done yet I was a fool to post it so early!!
Please do not read the story
‘First day…’
‘Can’t do this…won’t do this…!’
‘My injury…they’ll take advantage of my injury…’
‘Mother knows I hate new places…’
‘I can’t go to that place…’
August tightly held onto their pillow, wrapping their arms around it and refusing to release it. August didn’t want to get up…never, never, never!
‘...So I won’t. I would need to walk to school anyways…’
August sighed and snuggled into bed more, their sharp tail tucked and wrapped around the blankets. “...August?” Mother Finiona’s voice was easily heard in the quiet house. August was pretty sure their house was the quietest house ever. Not much talking happened in the house, mainly just the sound of droning shows. “...Mhhh…?” August lifted their head. Their tiny, seahorse mother stood in the doorway. “...mother…” August pulled out their frill and carefully whispered to Mother Finiona.
“I’m scared. I look strange. Melty…" August pointed to her frill.
Mother Finiona nodded, cupping August’s cheek, not at all caring about the ink that dripped onto her hand from August’s accident. “August Mylioba, it wouldn’t matter if you were a tuna, it wouldn’t matter if you were a penguin, it wouldn’t even matter to me if you worked for that crazy bear or that…telephone I think it was, you’re my daughter and I will love you no matter what,” Mother Finiona wrapped her arms around August, tangling her tail around theirs.
Mother Finiona always knew how to settle August’s nerves…
Thank the Great Zapfish.
“Now come along, August, let’s get you ready for your first day at a new school.”
The school ground’s courtyard, didn’t matter what Finiona said, this place was still dangerous.
Eels hanging out with eels…
There’s a few rays over there…
‘I see a few jellyfish.’
Were those Deepseaers? That’s definitely an angler fish and a dragonfish. Deadly…
Can’t trust anyone here…
August’s stinger slowly slipped out as August glanced around, watching everyone carefully. Maybe if they kept their flap down…no one would notice their injuries…
“HIII!!!” an energetic voice shouted at them suddenly, apparently from out of nowhere. “Who are you- oh my gosh yoiu’re a stingnray!! I neverever met one before and- you’re so PRETTYYY!!” They seemed to stumble over their words, talking fast, and swapped between sentences, leaving some of them unfinished.
August’s frill sprung out, revealing the ink under it. Upon seeing a strange, pink figure run at them, they nearly stung her! August swung their tail forward before stopping it inches away from piercing them. “You….” August’s frill went back down, pressing tightly against their neck. They squeezed their hands tightly before angrily signing, taking a deep breath, You scared me!! August didn’t typically like talking to new faces. Especially not loud new faces. Next time, please don’t shout. You almost made me sting you…I don’t know any other stingrays but I’m pretty sure we’re deadly… A thought then, quickly came to mind, ‘Aren’t axolotls poisonous to the touch? …I don’t think I’m thinking of a different creature but…maybe.’
“Ack, sorry for startling you!!” they squeaked.
…I’ll live. August took a sigh before forcing their stinger away. What is your name? August pointed at the axolotl as they asked this.
“Ooo, are you asking me a question?! What is it, what is it!! Something about me… my name?”
August quickly nodded and asked the question again before then adding using their voice, “Sign…language…?”
“Oh, oh, oh! Before I tell you my name, hows abouts you tell me yours?” the axolotl said in a more gentle voice than before. “...August…” August soon said, rather quiet. In fact, so quiet that they were almost silent compared to how loud the rest of the courtyard was.
“August… huuh, pretty cool name! I’m May, and this-” she pointed to a tall, pale blue axolotl that had bandages over her eyes, who seemingly materialized- “is April, my best friend; we’ve known each other since we hatched! She uses echolocation to see- pretty cool, huh?”
April waved shyly before talking in a way less loud voice than May’s. “Hello.”
Echolocation? I…didn’t think any species here used Echolocation anymore.
May’s frills puffed up and out, presumably in excitement.
August silently stared at their own frill, the ink was running down their body slightly. Ack…no, no, stop. August raised their hands rather quickly and pressed against their frill to stop the ink. ‘Cod. No idea why I thought that would stop it. It’s stupid ink…!’ August grumbled to themself a little before turning their focus back to April and May.
“Anyways, want to be friends? We can sit at lunch today and tomorrow and EVERY DAY, like oh my cod, you have no idea how pretty you are!! Have you seen yourself recently?” May was bouncing and shaking with excitement.
‘Mother never taught me to hold my tongue…or- er…my hands I guess.’ August tapped and petted their frill before admitting, You’re a little overwhelming. Maybe when we get to know each other, better…?
May groaned as the bell rang. ‘...Maybe I should go with them, I don’t know this school whatsoever!’ August’s voice caught in their throat before, rather suddenly, “W-Wait…!”
May turned, and April paused midstep. “Yeah, August?”
Could you help me around? I don’t know this place. I’ve gone to Covelin School all my life. …ReefWell High School is rather intimidating. August signed to May, mouthing their words as well.
“...I guess we could… What class do you have first?”
Need to grab my schedule first, August explained, messing with their frill some more. They hated how slimy it felt but…they also liked the chill it brought. It was disgustingly pleasant…I guess.
“Ah, to the office it is, then!” May said, racing away.
April sighed. “I’ll walk you there.”
August joined April's side quickly. “...Thaaank..you,” August nodded.
“Yeah, no problem.” April smiled a bit.
“...What’s…it like being blind…?” August asked softly.
“Well… for one, you can’t see what anyone or anything looks like, and you have to memorize the layout of places…” she didn’t seem comfortable trying to explain what it felt like. “You’re just… surrounded by inky black all the time…”
August, rather quickly, picked up on her discomfort. “...sorry,” August murmured and stood at the front desk as they got there. At the desk was a shark. They looked battle scarred! ..Intimidating…
“Oh hi! Youuu..” The shark squinted a little before adjusting their glasses. “Heh…sorry, I have terrible eyesight, are you a stingray?” The shark asked, “If so…you must be August, correct? I’m Mr. Selach.”
August only nodded. “Here’s your schedule, Melioba,” Mr. Selach handed them a schedule carefully to which they took it quickly.
History with Mrs. Uid (1045)
Math with Mr. Lemon (2055)
Art…
Lunch
ELA…
PE…
And then Biology…
August stared at their schedule before rejoining April’s side, gently poking their tail with their own to signal they were there.
“So, what classes do you have, August?” she asked.
“History, Math, Art, ELA, PE and Biology…”
“Oh, me and May also have those classes, in that order…” April said, and she seemed nervous. August folded the paper up, swaying slightly now. “S-..Same…exact…order??? …Oh no…”
“That’s only a fraction of May’s personality, don’t worry.” April coiled her tail around August’s own. “Trust me. I know that crazy axolotl,” April smiled. “Did you know that she’s my sister?” she asked.
“Sh-..She is? Wow…I’ve never had a sibling…”
“Well, you’re luckier than most. Not me, of course. Others have very annoying siblings.” April pointed out.
“...Do you think I’m in PE because stingrays are…typically fast…??” August gently set down their schedule, pushing it into one of their pockets. August slowly stepped out into the hallway.
The hallways were…really loud…
August couldn’t help but slowly cover their ears. Didn’t stop the vibrations from traveling up through their body. August wished this was evolved out, I mean- stingrays didn’t eat other fishkind anymore, right? What was the point in detecting vibrations nowadays?
“It’s a bit busy today… and every day, but… normally there are… less… people in the halls than this…” April said, her frills vibrating in sync with the footsteps. August shuddered, pushing themself closer to April. “Uhm…there was a place known…as the commons in…” August just stopped talking, too many people…too many sounds–! August’s legs started shaking, their hands weak.
April seemed to sense this, as she said, “C’mon, let’s go to class.”
August made sure to stay close to April as they slowly made their way to the history class. There was a bellringer on the board, ‘What would you do if you were the last one of Inkopolis alive?’
“What’s the board say?” April asked. “I don’t have a braille copy…”
“‘What would you do if you were the last one in Inkopolis alive?’ Sorry I forgot to give you a braille copy, April,” a new voice said, approaching April and August.
An…Inkling! Wow- uh…August had never ever seen an inkling before…
August froze up, wanting to use sign language to ask but-...they couldn’t talk nor sign. They were just stunned.
“And you must be the new student, August I believe?” Mrs. Uid with a smile, gently shaking August’s quivering hand. August only nodded, “m…mhm…”
“I-it’s ok.” April smiled back. “My sister would’ve told me anyway.”
‘A-An inkling???! B-But they’re–...aren’t they always…i-involved in…i-in the sports–?? And…and the uh…turf wars!?’ August’s mind raced, resulting in her just, slowly, walking to the back of the room, in the corner. “Ah, not very talkative, hm? Your mother mentioned you would be rather quiet,” Mrs. Uid began to talk to April, handing her a braille copy of the worksheet for the day.
The bell would quickly ring, almost the very second the entire class was there actually.
Other inklings, a few other deepsea fishkind, a manta ray, some eels. All sorts of fish kind were here…!
April walked to the seat next to May’s, and sat in it, pulling out a little box contraption.
“I’m going to have to apologize to May, I was…a little rude…” Over the sound of the other kids talking, she was barely heard.
May whispered something to April, and the two giggled, but April was focusing on doing something with the box, having opened it, and grabbing several stamps with dots on them from it.
“Uhm…” August turned to April, whispering their apology to her and asking her to give it to May. April nodded and whispered it to May, who looked shocked. “She was rude to me? When?” she yelped. August glanced around April, clearly a little shocked. “I…I was…” August wanted to say more but couldn’t, just staying quiet and only nodding slightly. “...sorry…” August whispered, pressing their frill in more.
May looked shocked still, but accepted the apology with a confused expression.
Mrs. Uid cleared her throat and the class started. “First thing’s first, we have a new student, could someone or maybe everyone tell August what we’re learning in this class?” August pressed themself into their seat quickly. Eyes– too many eyes! August moved their frill quickly over their eyes to try to hide themself.
No one spoke, just watched. Finally, a voice said, “I don’t think the school should’ve let someone with ink running down them into the school. If that Tartar guy we’re learning about shows anything, strange ink running down someone’s face is very evil…” The voice was snide. Had to be the Lionfish.
“Shut up!” April shouted. The room went completely silent, as she never got loud like that, as far as August knew. “She is a good friend, unlike most of you. You should be ashamed of yourself! Judging someone based on their looks! Honestly! If you say stuff like that to her, you say it to me, too!” August couldn’t stop their cheeks from fuzzing into pink. A good pink luckily.
“Yeah! And me!” May joined in. “If you want to get to her, you get through us first!”
Mrs. Uid just sighed and moved onto the slides, “Correct, Leo, we’re learning about Commander Denewiah Tartarus (Or just Commander Tartar) this semester. Now then…”
August slowly dropped their frill back down. Their face was still fuzzy red. Thank you they signed to May.
“If anyone knows, can someone tell me how recent this was?” Mrs. Uid asked before pointing towards August, “August? Perhaps you would like to tell us?” August froze. Di-Did Mrs. Uid have something against her???
August opened her mouth before croaking out, “wh…w-whoo…???” Her old school hadn’t even gotten around to teaching about…whoever Tartarus was. Mrs. Uid looked disappointed, saying, “You weren’t listening, were you?” August just patted her hands on her lap, thinking, ‘I was, you jerk. Pardon me for being brand new to this school…!’ They thought, lowering their head and hiding their face slightly behind their frill.
“Anyways, what this AI did happened just 2-3 years ago. Scary, isn’t it? This is practically new information!” Mrs. Uid explained, flipping through the slides on the board. There weren’t many photos of him up close, but from what August could see, Tartarus was a monster. It looked slimy…and terrifying.
Then the talk of what it did to his victims came up!!!
“Does anyone remember what common household appliance he used to attempt to create what it thought was order?”
Leo raised her hand rather quickly. “...Yes, Leo?” The teacher looked a little annoyed.
“A coffee pot!” Leo said confidently.
Immediately, August’s mind filled with horrific ideas of burns. Coffee was burning hot after all. Reminded her of something from Hook (Genuinely, why did Clawlin think that was a good movie to show August!?). August slowly sat back in her seat, just quietly taking notes.
Actually, the classroom got…really, really, really quiet…
August dropped her frill a little to take a look around. Everyone was staring hard at Leo. August watched her spines slowly go down, making her mane much tinier and harder to see. “...D-Did I get it wrong…?” Leo asked, in a slightly offended tone.
“You did, Leo. I’m shocked. Regardless, it’s actually worse,” Mrs. Uid changed to the next slide.
A blender.
…A…blender…
August almost immediately felt sick to her stomach.
“Commander Tartar was smart and he, essentially, took on the form of a telephone as it looked almost exactly like an octoling. And, you already know, Octolings are not the smartest. The diligent Octotarians recognize as friends those who look and act like them. That’s why it took the form of an old telephone, whose face was similar to that of an octopus.”
“...” That’s not where her injury came from, right? RIGHT!? …Couldn’t. That stuff’s green (blue?), theirs was orange. Bright orange actually.
August looked over at May before they slowly wrote something down and passed the note to May. Mrs. Uid didn’t notice. Good.
‘Are we sure it’s dead? I don’t like the idea of an AI blending people up…’ The note read.
‘Don’t really know.’
I’m scared… August signed to May. What if he got… August shook her head silently as the lesson continued to drone on. August made sure to keep notes on everything.
He made a test based hell in an abandoned metro. Deep…sea??
His kill count was 10,007.
Something about sanitizing...
Kamabo…Zzz…
Gosh, August was tired. What time was it? She remembered moving to each of the classrooms and- It was already the final period!? M-My mind was turned off for the whole day- is it really almost time to go home?? August asked May quickly, stumbling a little closer to her.
“Yeah, it is.” May answered absentmindedly.
“I…hadn’t even noticed…” August murmured.
“Hey,” April said, “Since we’re friends now, we probably need a hangout spot.”
“Oh, yeah, we do!” May said.
“Not many places…” August murmured, trying to move away from the crowds. “What kind of hangout would even be nice? For me, I would love some damn peace and quiet right now…”
“Well, for one, abandoned places can have nice views, plus hardly anyone visits them!” May pointed out.
“Abandoned sounds weirdly pleasant…” August mumbled and started to look around as they came to the city square, oddly quieter than usual.
“Hmm, quiet around here today… not many people…”
…Hmm…
“What about there?” August asked, pointing at the entrance to an old metro. “That place hasn’t been used in years…” August approached and carefully climbed over the rails. Her tail got a little tangled before she untied it. “...I feel my sins crawling on my back already.”
“The vibrations here are those of mice.” April observed. “This place is perfect. Untouched.”
“Mice still exist? I thought Judd and Jino and Mr. Grizz were the only mammals left since the humans. …I’ve never seen a mouse. They’re adorable, right?” August started to pick the lock on the gate and open it for April and May.
“Yeah, I have a pet mouse! His name is Jinkles!! He’s soo adorable!!” May said.
“Aw…i-is it soft?” August opened the gate slightly using her tail, already walking into the Metro. “...Oof, I can already feel that this maaay be a mistake…”
“SUPER. SOFT.”
The inside of the metro was damp and rather dark. A dampness that caused August to fully spread her frill for once. By now, they had all traveled quite far into the metro. “Hm! I feel sorry for the Inklings and Octolings, they can’t enjoy water and dampness anymore. I wonder what they do when it starts raining…” August hummed. “I normally would have preferred to stay closer to the surface but this is nice…”
April shuddered. “Do you guys feel that? It feels like footsteps, but not mice’s… more… heavy… bigger…” Her frills were vibrating. Wobble. Wobble. Wobble. Wobble.
“Hm? What do you mean?” August asked, looking back at April. She froze suddenly. “...Did-..did anyone else see that?” August asked, pointing lightly at something. “...I swear I saw something move into the ceiling far behind us–...”
“..Maybe it was a mouse, though…” August’s frill fell as she instantly became more reserved. “Or a salmon…I heard from my last school that the octolings and salmon have..a deal of sorts. I would imagine they’re common underground…right?”
August hummed as she approached the train waiting in the main hall. “There’s a train here, it looks like it hasn’t gone anywhere for centuries.” August entered the doors and glanced around at the graffiti covered walls. “Hm…I’ve always liked looking at street art, so many ideas…” August smiled and sat down on the ground, just behind the doors. “This old train can be our new hangout spot!!”
“Ooo, yes!! April, you coming?” May called to April, who was just standing still where they entered. “I feel it more now… above us…” she muttered, hardly audible.
“Hm? Oh hi little Sea Cucumber,” August smiled, petting her tail over the tiny, blue, slightly spiky slug. “...He’s not very talkative,” August chuckled and instead picked them up. “Hiya!” Not a word from the slug but it looked nervous somehow.
May giggled. “He’s so cuuuute!! I can’t stand his little- everything, really!” She patted the sea cucumber on the head.
“...Please put me down,” The sea cucumber suddenly spoke in an annoyed tone. “I am very poisonous to the touch…” August squeaked and gently set them down. “I’m actually the conductor of this train, just a moment, there’s still 1 more person that needs to board before we pull out of the station…”
August glanced at May with confusion as the sea cucumber crawled away.
April just stood there, looking at the ceiling. “There’s something here…” she said ominously.
August quickly got up and followed the sea cucumber. “Come on, April! They were probably just leaving the metro. Guess this place is not as abandoned as expected,” May said, murmuring at the end. “Or…at least the conductor is here. Weirdly…”
August, meanwhile, quickly followed the conductor. She gently tapped the conductor on the shoulder. “Uhm…” The conductor turned back to look at her. “Yes?” August’s frill tucked in more before she raised her hands. Me and my friends were under the impression that this place was… “Empty? Or…abandoned?” The conductor chuckled at the thought.
August only nodded. Exactly. I do wonder now, where does this train lead? …If you’re not just a kid pretending. “I feel rather insulted that you would doubt me!” The conductor grabbed one of the levers, “And we’re heading for the DeepSea Metro!” He reached up, grabbing a higher lever.
*WOOT WOOOOOOOOOT!!!!*
The Conductor fell quickly back onto the controls after that, “And the name’s CQ, hope you’re ready for the ride of your lives! Go! Go! Grab your friend, we’re not waiting any longer now!” CQ shoved August out of the room, using horrifically long tendrils to do so.
August stood there for a moment before grabbing April’s arm and pulling her into the train as the door closed behind them. “...Well, guess this place isn’t as quiet as we…had expected,” August murmured softly, scooting closer to April.
“Where are we even heading??” May asked.
“...Somewhere called the Deepsea Metro. …Ring any bells for you guys?”
April was silent, and May shook her head. “Nope.”
It didn’t take long before they arrived at the Deepsea Metro.
All 4 of them hopped off. Wait…4? …No, no, August was going nuts, there were only 3 of them.
There were only 3, right?
“April…do you feel anyone else? I-I can’t tell…” August’s frill tucked in further as her tail swung to her side, ready to strike anything at any second.
April was still, unmoving, as her frills vibrated, probably picking up movement. “Yes… two…” was all she said.
“T-Two!?” August gasped. “U-Uh…” August’s tail quivered behind them, shuddering.
“You guys skkound so scardd, why ccctkome into the metccro if you guys are buncha scaredy-catsssskttt?” A staticky voice suddenly asked from the end of the platform like it was coming from an old device or a radio or a walkie-talkie of some kind. Point was, it wasn’t very clear.
April’s frills went still and slightly pointed towards the sound. “Who’s there?” she said in a loud, stern-and-determined-but-slightly-scared voice. “Who’s talking?”
“Dude, fix your voice..” A second voice responded. “Mmyyyy…?? Orrthg, I-I aww-wee hearr sskkit..” The voice trailed off as the sound of a crank was heard. August stood in front of her friends quickly as the figures began to reveal themselves.
It was a large android with a deep blue button up with long coat tails and a white shirt underneath. Roped around his neck was a black bowtie. He wore gloves on his hands that seemed to be holding/hiding something. He had deeper blue pants that tucked into tall black shoes. …And his face was that of an old telephone…
August froze.
May gasped loudly. “Hey, didn’t we just learn about you in History? What was the name… Tar? Something… Tartar…?” Tartar clapped his hand before turning back to his companion, “I’m being taught in history! That’s definitely something!” He chuckled at the thought.
“...Y-Y-You’re su..supposed to be dead…” August whispered, stepping back more into her friends.
“I’m supposed to be dead, hm? Well! Ain’t that something. I guess Captin, Marina, 8, and Pearl are still petty liars!” Tartar laughed a little louder before taking another step forward. August swung her tail out more, shaking it as a threat.
April gasped quietly, her frills quivering. “...Tartar…? Doesn’t he have a… rather high kill count…?” she said in a low, shaky voice.
“Heh, it’s only gotten higher too…” The 2nd voice said, following Tartar out of the shadows and glaring at all 3 of them.
‘No-, nononono- 1 bombshell is enough!’ August covered her eyes. ‘They’re all dead! It’s impossible that there's still–!’ August ducked behind April quickly, shutting herself away mentally behind large walls.
“10,045 in case you’re wondering. Might be 10,048 by the end of the day! Then again, Axolotls and Stingrays don’t produce ink, do they…?” Tartar asked the person besides him, giving them a chance to answer.
“Why would we tell you?” April scowled. “You killed a lot of people.”
“All of them Octarians in case you forgot. You seafood from up above hate them last I checked so why does it matter, hm?”
“I-It matters i-if you try t-to do…!” August trailed off, staring into the cold eyes of the person next to Tartar.
“Hm?” Tartar noticed that August was staring hard at the person before realizing he had forgotten to introduce them. “Oh! Right, may I introduce my little friend!” Tartar patted them on the head roughly. “This is Everest. One of the first humans in the past 100 years.” Everest grinned and stepped forward.
“You bits of blobs thought you could flood us out like rodents, hm? Well, guess what? I’m back…”
“A-a human-! I’ve never seen one before- only in drawings-!” May said, observing Everest from a safe distance. “You’re pretty!”
August poked May with her tail, making sure not to sting her, ‘We shouldn’t be worrying about looks, May! That’s a dangerous AI and an extinct species!!’ August thought, still staring at the two of them.
Everest seemed to be growing bored with the chat, “Are we…going to do anything to them, Tartar? They can’t leave now that they know about you still being alive, CQ doesn’t have any tests prepared, we can’t blend them without the tests and I doubt we’ll be able to sanitize them!!” Tartar…wasn’t moving, just softly making weird noises. “...Oh for the love of Leviathan..” Everest growled.
April hadn’t moved, only twitching her frills and making soft noises, almost like humming. She was also slightly rocking back and forth, but still seemed fully alert. “Could…” she said, but then stopped herself.
Everest tapped Tartar’s shoulder before shaking her head and revealing a golf club. “Guess I need to keep you idiots in check, hm? Well, won’t be too hard..” She tapped the club on the ground, creating a grating noise. “Then again, I doubt any of you would risk the tracks? Trains come in and out of here often so..” Everest shrugged with a smug smirk on her face.
April looked as if she desperately wanted to ask something, but didn’t dare, probably in case they attacked her for asking.
“..Go on,” Everest tilted the club at April, “I can tell you're itching to ask me questions. I answered all of Tartar’s and Mr. Grizz’s questions, I don’t give a single f*ck to anyone.”
“M-Mr. Grizz knows…?” August gestured to Tartar. “Of course! They’re business partners. Grizzco and Kamabo, Grizzmabo…Kamaco, Kamagriz, both have a bit of a nice ring together…” Everest chuckled at the thought.
“W-well… I just wanted to, if we’re never leaving… uh, just memorize the layout of the place… I do this with every new place I visit…” she stammered, her frills wavering.
“Ha! I know a trick when I hear one, Olm, no. I guess you could explore the labs with Tartar’s permission though,” Everest’s voice still had that brushing off tone from before. “You’ll have to wait until 1867 over here comes back online though.”
“How did you survive the rising tides…?” August asked suddenly, revealing her face a little.
“Simple, what’s rule number 1 about surviving floods? 1. Get up high, 2. Pray, 3. Stay away from water. Years ago, my ancestors moved as many people and close friends they had into the mountains. And we survived! We survived everything…”
“Everything…” April repeated, awestruck. “I always wanted your kind to come back, and May can vouch for that… I’m so glad to hear that you’re still around…!”
“April! Are you crazy????” August hissed softly.
“Yeah, I guess I kind of am.” April shrugged. “But crazy in a good way.”
“Crazy in a bad way!!”
Everest faked a yawn as Tartar FINALLY came back online, “Oh my Leviathan! Finally!” “Sorry that took so long, Everest. Are they all still alive? Good, perfect!” Tartar claps his hands. “Now, you asked what we should do with them? Hm..I say we could attempt to sanitize them…I’ve improved the primordial goop since last time! I found this little strange, human looking thing with green blood. It was very weird, his blood healed all injuries in seconds. If my science is correct, that means fast healing for everyone sanitized!!”
“Oh no, that-that doesn’t sound great… or comfortable…” April’s frills puffed up and out. She fiddled with her bandages.
“My test subjects all say the process is completely painless! …So let’s see..” Tartar pulled off one of his gloves to reveal the eerie, blue green, sanitized ink underneath. August quickly swung her tail forward, ready to defend April and May- and her tail bounced off of Tartar’s leg. “...Did you forget I’m a robot…?”
By now, April was across the room, somehow, and she was pressing herself on the wall.
“...RUN! SCATTER!” August shouted and attempted to run. Tartar didn’t wait a second, stomping down on August’s tail, causing a sickening CRACK to echo through the metro followed by August’s shrill scream. “Tails. Such an easy weak point~!” Tartar yanked August close.
“Leave! Her! Alone!” May shouted, tackling Tartar from behind, clinging onto his neck with what looked like a strong grip.
Everest suddenly charged forward, striking May on the head with her club. “GET OFF OF HIM!”
Despite that, May still held on. “Not that easy to knock me out!” she panted. Tartar swung his hand back, grabbing May with the uncovered, slimy hand. “GOTCHA!” He yanked her off, making sure to grab her gills. “I was hoping to get that stingray first but you work just fine…” Tartar chuckled, “All it takes is a touch really…”
Suddenly, a pale blue blur smashed into him, and May wriggled out of his grasp. Tartar hissed and a tentacle shot from his back to throw the blur off of him. August rushed forward to grab May. “Th-This ain’t good–!” She whimpered, already spotting May’s colors starting to pale and change dark blue in some areas. Everest rushed forward to grab August, only for her to stab her broken stinger up into Everest’s chin.
Tartar’s eyes widened and he threw the golf club at August. “Everest!” Tartar yanked Everest away from August and May, “Don’t you dare die! You’re not allowed to die!” Tartar glared at them before rushing past them and entering a bunker in the ground.
April groaned from the tracks. “Oww…” she got up and paused, her frills vibrating wildly. “Train!” she shouted, ducking into a space beside the tracks. “APRIL!” August nearly reached her hand down before pulling herself back. “Oh no- no- no- no! TH-THis is awful–!” August began to shake. ‘M-..My fault- a-all my fault! Useless! Broken- sanitized- DEAD!’ August’s vision began to warp, filling with static and bright, kaleidoscope like colors. …August collapsed rather quickly afterwards.

The Boy and the Seawolf
A Mumarou story for @anonymousedward! In which Mumen (Rider) meets a certain protective sea spirit.
Dirty Paper warning for, well, tentacle sex. There it is. I said it. Cut is for length AND content.
Tumblr media
“Stay to the public beaches, my little Mumen. We do not go to the cove.”
The small boy stands with his pail and shovel, staring at where he can see the land dip further in. The waves hit the cliffs surrounding it, but there’s an easy path they could take, either around and down or straight in on the shoreline, when the tide is out. He points this out, because he is a clever boy, and he loves to explore.
His grandmother smiles and strokes his messy brown hair back from the glasses that make his eyes look huge. One day the rest of his face will catch up but for now, his gaze is so painfully earnest that she can’t help but stoop down and kiss his forehead.
“This is not a matter of ‘can we,’ my child. This we ‘should not’ do.”
He wants to know why.
“Because that place belongs to the Seawolf.”
Patiently, the small boy tells his grandmother that wolves don’t live in the sea. He proceeds to explain all the places that wolves do live, until she laughs.
“This is a Seawolf, Mumen. A guardian beast of the ocean. They say that once he was fully a spirit, but when humans began to live near the water, he let the strongest man join with him, become one with him. Even today, it is considered very good fortune if you see one.”
The boy tugs her hand in reply. This only seems to make him more intent to go to the cove, if that is the case (which he still doubts, but…)
“No, Mumen. Now, he rules from there in seclusion. You’ll find no fish we can eat there. Only jellyfish, stingrays and occasionally sharks, all which he uses to deter passersby. Just like you.”
The boy shivers. Jellyfish. It’s the only thing that he is actually afraid of, when he visits her by the shore. Ever since one stung him when he was a toddler, sneaking up on him in the shallows and barely brushing him with its bright red body.
It’s easy enough to convince him to come to the main beach by the boardwalk after that, but he never forgets the cove. He always looks, craning his head around from his bicycle, hoping to catch a glimpse of something; fin, fluke, flipper, or maybe something else.
He doesn’t see anything.
And he doesn’t know that something is looking back at him.
---
“Okay, steady on, you can do this.”
Mumen rode his bike down the shoreline in the dark, the large, sloshing cooler balanced on his handlebars threatening to overturn at every bend. He had thought that if he waited to do this admittedly very silly thing until nightfall, maybe he could avoid getting caught, but tonight there were several clambakes happening on the beach that had attracted the attention of locals and tourists alike. Lights had been strung along the piers, and people were milling around, stargazing, drinking beers.
He had been invited but declined.
“Come on, Mumen! Something like this will cheer you up. Get you out of that house for a while,” his grandmother’s neighbor insisted.
That  house. He liked that house. He had always liked that house, the way it smelled like the ocean even when you had washed it all off, all the blankets and pillows the only things that had been kept smelling like floral laundry detergent, clean of the remnants due to regular washes. “No, thank you,” he replied with a friendly smile. “I still have some work to do.”
Maybe he was doing this errand for her too, now that he thought about it.
When he came up to the cove, he almost turned around. Not because he faintly recalled something that his grandmother had told him about a local cryptid of some kind that lived there, but because huge signs had been erected since he was a child. Dramatic bold lettering screamed at him about riptides and the fact that there were no lifeguards posted past this point, and there were icons of fins and crashing waves.
“Perfect,” he said to himself. All of that meant no one else would be there either.
He rode his bike as far as the boardwalk would take him, and then he dismounted, beginning to walk it into the cove. The temperature dropped significantly, and when he followed the sandy shore further in, along the cliff and into the enclosed area, he was most surprised by the silence of the area, a still quiet that made him feel like he was actually the first person here in a very long time.
Turning on the headlamp of his bike once he was out of sight only confirmed his suspicions. There wasn’t a single sign of another footprint in the sand.
“Okay. Let’s get you guys home.”
Mumen felt a little bad as he dragged the cooler into the shallows, the cold water lapping at his ankle and making him dance a little as he got used to it. He was sure that although the fishmonger was happy enough about all the money he gave him for the twenty-some lobsters, the fishermen and other customers wouldn’t be at all.
But what was he supposed to do? Walk past the tank at the market and leave them there?
He picked up the first one and so, so carefully removed the rubber bands from around its formidable claws. When he put it down he walked a small distance to the right, then did the same thing again. And again. And again. Sweat dripped down his face, and for a second he stopped to slap some of the cold water on his face, licking the salty drops from his lips. Now, his legs and arms were beginning to ache as he dragged the cooler, but dumping all the lobsters out didn’t seem right. What if they were territorial?
When he suddenly heard a substantial splash up ahead of him, Mumen froze. In the yellow light across the surface, cast by the moon and his headlamp, he couldn’t see anything in the inky depths, but he was still only in the water up to his calves. No, not even his calves. More like his upper ankles. So it wasn’t like anything could get at him. Right?
It wasn’t the first time Mumen was wrong, but never, ever this wrong. Never so wrong that he would have dreamt he might suddenly feel powerful limbs wrapping around his legs and pull them out from under him. Even though there was no way he would have seen them in the dark, he couldn’t see past the cloudy sand and water blinding him, rushing up his nose. His glasses...where were his glasses?! Was he going to drown?
And then...hands. Hoisting him up, pulling him from the water, pulling his whole body from the water until he could feel air on his feet.
“What are you doing here?” a cold voice asked.
Mumen tried to respond, or at least to start, but he choked, sputtering out water from his lungs and onto his chest. He tried to scrub at his eyes, to clear the salt out of them.
“You shouldn’t be here!”
“I’m sorry! I was...was…” Another mouthful of water from his burning throat. He had been taken by surprise, and he didn’t even realize he had breathed so much in…
“Taking things that don’t belong to you!” It sounded so angry, insistent, and he was shook a bit. Now, he could see clearer, and Mumen could make out a pale face, light hair - white? Silver? - and bared teeth.
“No! I was putting them back!” He held up his wrist, where he had been placing all the rubber bands. “See?!”
At that, he was dropped back into the water. It wasn’t much deeper here, so he winced when his butt hit the sandy bottom. His hand hit something sharp, and when he touched it, he could feel where the skin had torn. The salty sting confirmed he was bleeding, but when he stood up to try to get out of the water, there was still...something...around his legs. “Help! I’m stuck!”
“You just wait!” The voice was farther away now, back near the shallows, and Mumen could hear him muttering as he searched around and picked up one of the lobsters. Now, he could just see him - or his back at least - muscular and bright, reflecting the light like metal. He could only make him out from the waist up, though; he was clearly kneeling in the water…
When he turned his face back around, Mumen gasped softly. Was this what people meant when they talked about someone or something being terrifyingly beautiful? Because the man was definitely still angry, full of fury, but also...Mumen had never seen someone so gorgeous in his life. “Who are you?” he asked, and the...things...that were around his legs moved away. “I’m...my name is Mumen.”
“Garou,” the man replied, approaching him again. All of his hair was that bright silver, and Mumen wondered what it would look like dry. Maybe white? What color were his eyes? It wasn’t light enough to tell. “You’re not supposed to be here. Nobody is supposed to be here.”
“I...didn’t want to get caught on the beach.” Something rough brushed his thigh, and Mumen jumped. “What was that?!”
Garou said something quietly again, and this time Mumen thought it clear he was not talking to him. He did directly answer him with a grin that made him shudder. “I brought some of my brothers to handle you, if you gave me trouble.” A straight fin broke the surface, coming just close enough for Mumen to see striped patterns along the back of the large body.
“You were going to get a shark to eat me?!” Mumen was entering into a realm of hysterics, waving his hands. “Are you insane?!”
The other man chuckled and came closer, grabbing his hand from the air. “I love how the thought I could get a shark to attack you on command is somehow harder to believe than everything else happening. Including that I could will it not to eat you.” Mumen tried to tug his hand away. “Let me see.”
“It hurts.”
“Yes, it’s bleeding.” Garou said it like Mumen must be stupid. He stared down at his hand in the water, stroking his fingers over the cut. “I’m not doing this because it hurts. You’re making them uncomfortable.”
One of the sharks caused a splash as it came by, circling them. Yes, this was definitely several sharks, because this one was more reddish. And bigger. “Yeah, I know the feeling!”
“They won’t hurt you. I’ve told them not to.” Garou brought one of his own fingers to his lips and bit down until a drop of what Mumen assumed was blood began to seep from the spot. He had to assume, because it was a dark purple, like ink. Garou started to rub it into the wound.
“Ow! And ew! That’s...there are so many things wrong with this!” Things that included someone who could supposedly talk to sharks, and who looked human but certainly didn’t act like it, and who was now putting his mouth directly onto the cut, sucking at it, mingling their blood together.
A jolt of something rather lewd travelled down his body, and he stared at his thin lips until he asked, “Why did you come back here?”
Mumen blinked. Did he know him? Did they know each other? “What do you mean? How did you--”
“You used to come close to the cove, on that...thing you ride on.” Garou nodded at the bike. “It always looked like you were going to approach, but then you would go. Every year. And then...you stopped.”
“I…” Why was he blushing? Why did he feel so put on the spot. “I used to visit my grandmother. She lived at the house on the hill, overlooking the lighthouse.”
“Why did you come back here?” Garou was glaring at him, still rubbing insistently at the mark between mouthing it. It hurt less now, which also made it feel more scandalous when Garou licked it. “I like when humans leave. I like when there are less of you.”
“Yeah, well, it evens out, because she died, okay?”
As Garou’s fingers stilled, Mumen felt a little sick. It was the first time that he had come out and said that, to anyone. Most people here at the shore knew, so they would offer apologies. And anyone else, he would say that he had a family emergency. Why? Why not just say it? Clearly this was why.
“I’m sorry.” Mumen glanced up at Garou, at his face. It hadn’t exactly gotten softer, but he didn’t seem as angry, as seemingly put out by all this. “I haven’t been here long, so far as my people go, but...she always believed in us.”
“You knew her?”
“I had seen her. And heard the stories she told. She told you too, I know.”
Seawolf. It came back to him suddenly. “Even I couldn’t remember that...how do you?”
Garou let go of him. When Mumen took his hand out of the water, he could just see a pale pink line across a third of him palm, but other than that, there was no sign of the cut. “My memory is much better than yours,” he said, smirking.
“Hey, you there!”
Both of them looked up the shoreline when they heard the voices calling out from the sand. Flashlights were bouncing back and forth, held by a pair of what Mumen thought were probably cops. Before he could think to reply, Garou shot forward to the shallows, taking out the last few lobsters. “Help me with them!” he hissed in the dark, and they both scrambled to remove the rest of the rubber bands.
“Out of the water!” one of the two yelled, and there was a sound of sand being kicked as they ran closer. Garou reached down into the water and emerged with something small in his hand. He threw it, and the light on the bike shattered.
“Hey! That was mine! What are you--” Garou grabbed him up in his arms, and Mumen felt his cheeks going red yet again. His chest was so firm, so secure, but at his waist, it was very, very different. Like the flesh changed there...
“Take a deep breath.”
“What--” He barely got in even a small breath before they were under the water again. Suddenly, they weren’t simply floating but shooting through the current in the dark. It was so fast, so full of bubbles and rushing water that Mumen couldn’t even tell what direction they were going in. It reminded him of being in a slide at a water park.
<Hold onto me.>
He did. He did, even in spite of how he was pretty sure he was losing his mind, because Garou’s voice was in his mind. In fact, he was clawing at his torso now, because he needed to breathe. It had been only a few seconds probably, but his lungs were aching. Where was the surface?! Where were they?! How far...how deep...how...
<Mumen!>
It was too much. As the water invaded his nostrils, filling up his chest, everything around them went bright white with pain, then finally hazy and dark.
---
And then...he was waking up. Something was touching his mouth, pressing against it, and there wasn’t a good opportunity to really know what it was before what felt like a pint of water shot up his nose and mouth.
He opened his eyes though, and...Garou. He was hovering over him. It was lighter around them, shimmering like the inside of an aquarium. His eyes were gold. How would he ever have guessed?
Sitting up to cough, he said, “You saved me…”
“Technically I drowned you first, but...sure. Also, I think these belong to you.” Garou handed Mumen his glasses, and he breathed a sigh of relief. When he put them back on, Garou smiled a little, his eyes no longer as severe as they were in the surf, and Mumen had a chance to look around.
They were in a cave, now, like an underground shore. The ground was a mosaic of turquoise and sapphire stones, and the sand was the softest Mumen had ever felt. “Where are we?”
“Under the cove. I had to swim pretty far down to get to the cave. I'm glad you just breathed in a mouthful of water and didn't get all weird with the pressure.” He trailed off when he noticed Mumen staring below his waist. “What?”
From about an inch below his belly and down, Garou… wasn't human. He was deep, rich purple and black, slightly opalescent, and where there should have been legs were…
Tentacles. Eight of them. Long and spread out across the ground but powerful, not limp like he had seen octopi at the market when they were left on the ice to stay fresh. In fact, as he watched him there, Garou straightened and sort of sat on top of them.
Suddenly, he remembered the feeling of being held in the water, like something was surrounding his legs and…
“Oh my God.”
“I know, I’m a vision to behold. You may bask in my might.”
Then, Mumen noticed something more immediate to be concerned about. “Oh my God! I’m naked! What did you do with my clothes?!”
Garou made a light ‘tch’ and gestured at a large rock behind them where the clothes were spread across it. “Even I know that if humans sit around in soaked clothing they’ll get sick.” He said it like he was surprised Mumen hadn’t come to this very logical outcome as well.
Doing his best to cover himself, Mumen closed his eyes for a moment to breathe. Why was he taking this so easily? Why wasn’t he more afraid? Why did it seem like Garou wasn’t going to actually hurt him? What was --
“Stop thinking so hard.” Mumen opened his eyes and jerked when he saw Garou right in front of him. “And so loudly. Obviously you need a distraction from your grief, and I am grateful for the way you saved my people. What more do you need?”
“How did you know --” Garou was coming closer, and his tentacles were wrapping lazily around his legs. He didn’t pull away, only breathed a little harder as they moved up a bit, around his calves, leaving neat little round sucker marks behind them.
“We’re bound now. By blood.” He held up the tiny prick on his finger, then pointed at Mumen’s hand. “I could tell that you were truly a hero - well, the little ones told me that too - and it let me talk to you too. Should have maybe mentioned that before the whole trying-to-breathe-water situation.”
Mumen stared up into his gold eyes for a moment, then down at the tentacles. They had stopped just above his knees. “Can I...touch them?”
“No,” Garou said sarcastically, then rolled his eyes. “Of course you can.”
“You’re really sarcastic for a...spirit of the sea or whatever.”
“I’m part human, too. And I watch the humans, listen to them on their boats. You learn a lot when people can just say whatever they want.” One of the tentacles moved up, curling into Mumen’s palm. He wasn’t sure why, but Mumen thought it would be rough or scaly, but it was surprisingly soft, the purple flesh almost plush in a slick way. He immediately thought of putting his hands on rays in touch tanks as a child.
“You’re not gonna, like...lay eggs in me, are you?”
Garou blinked slowly, like this was honestly the most ridiculous question he had ever heard. “That’s not how any of this works.”
Mumen licked his lips. He wasn’t unaffected by the feeling of the soft arms surrounding him so close to his groin, no matter how nervous he still was. “And you’re not going to eat me afterward? Or!” he quickly added, “Feed me to sharks! Or anything else!”
Garou kissed him then, instead. He thought his mouth might taste like ocean water or the shore, but it just mingled with his, warm and wet and hot. He didn’t waste any time adding his tongue in, long and rubbing, touching his teeth, the top of his mouth, everywhere he could get to. Garou pulled him forward and laid him down on the ground.
When Mumen opened his eyes again, it looked like Garou was hovering over him. Mumen went to put his arms around him but quickly found that he couldn’t, his whole body covered with flexing, exploring tentacles. They squeezed his arms, his middle, and around his waist and legs, like he was something to take apart and put back together.
“Take a breath,” Garou laughed softly, his hands cupping his cheeks. “If I wanted to do something to you, I wouldn’t have protected you or brought you back here.”
“I’m not afraid.” It was only a half-lie, because what he meant was that he wasn’t as afraid as he was turned on. One of the tentacles moved to play with his nipple, and Mumen dropped his head back, moaning.
“Hmm, interesting…” The tips of two purple arms moved to flick and toy with his chest, and Mumen squirmed. He felt like some kind of animal caught in a trap, unable to escape, and under any other circumstance that would terrify him. But here? Now?
“Ahh!” Mumen glanced down to see one of the limbs wrap around his cock, rubbing it up and down. “Oh god, oh god…”
“How do humans handle having a tentacle so small and...not dextrous at all?” A tendril flicked under the curve of his head, and Mumen could swear he saw stars. When Garou licked his face, Mumen realized then how warm his cheeks had grown. “It’s just hard and-- oh!”
He came suddenly, spurting, the strange otherness of having a tentacle being what was squeezing him too arousing to actually hold back. White drops of fluid stood out against the dark of Garou’s lower body, and he smiled, licking his lips. “I can taste it, you know,” he shared, kissing him again, hard and deep, making a vibrating noise through it as he shifted, sitting Mumen up, arms over his head to stretch him.
“Where is your…?”
Garou slipped one of his tentacles past his lips and onto his tongue, sliding it in and out between his front teeth and the top of his throat. Mumen shuddered, letting out a muted, muffled moan against it. “See? I can use mine for many things. Yours, you either use it or…” Mumen sucked hard as Garou once again gave it a squeeze. “You just take what you get, huh?”
“Mmm…”
“I think you like that, though. Well, I kind of know you do.”
Mumen flushed at that. If he had had any idea that Garou taking care of his hand would lead to him having such a firm idea of his proclivities, he might have reconsidered letting him. But this was so good...so good…
Garou delved a bit deeper into his throat, and Mumen tried to relax. He squirmed in his hold, feeling the tentacles tighten and touch all over him, stroking even at places like his armpits, his navel, the small of his back...places Mumen never thought would make him light up with arousal and yet somehow managed to do so.
He nearly choked when a particularly curious tip found the line of nerves running from his hole to his cock. “Aha! That's an interesting spot...you reacted strongly to that…” Garou did it again, slower, dragging the textured flesh across his taint.
“Mm!!” Mumen's chest heaved, eyes watering slightly from the way Garou's cock was pressing now in his throat.
“I didn't realize how tight it would be in there,” Garou murmured, pressing his torso in close, his fingers touching either side of the line of his neck. Mumen could feel his digits around his tentacle cock, curious, interested...and it should have been frightening. It should have made him panic, but…
All he wanted was to make him come. To even them up so maybe - maybe - Garou would be more of a mess like he was.
But the moment he considered that, Garou looked at him, amusement in his gaze. Although his cheeks were rosy, a shudder running through him, he straightened a little. “Do you really want to challenge me in stamina, little human?”
Okay. Mumen could work with someone who took a challenge like that.
Although he did not have the use of his hands to add to it, Mumen set to the task of sucking on Garou with even more vigor. After all, he didn't taste fishy or odd; really it was the texture that was the oddest. Smooth and slightly slippery, the suckers at the end small enough that he could slip his tongue in a circle around them without getting them stuck.
“Mmm...fuck…” Garou's curses sounded alien, like he was trying them out for the first time. Bolder than a child but less confident than someone who had said such words for years. “Mumen…”
“Mmmph…” Tipping his head forward, he let more of Garou in his throat again, having gotten used to it.
“I...I...ah!” Garou came suddenly, and, sure, Mumen hadn't exactly been with many men (mostly having only experimented with his childhood friend Saitama when they went to the same University together) but this was not at all how it was before. Garou came not only forcefully but plentifully and although Mumen swallowed as much as he could, quite a bit of the fluid messily fell down his face and chest.
He coughed, and immediately Garou pulled back, and for a moment, though they remained around him, the tentacles felt more like...a full-bodied hug than the sexual adventure it had been only a moment before. Garou licked up the remaining mess, kissing Mumen again. “You are very, very good at that…” he said in a throaty voice that was more growl than purr.
“Thanks,” Mumen croaked, clearing his throat as much as he could. Then, he watched as Garou lifted his hands and cupped them in front of his face, water magically gathering there. It was the crispest, coolest drink that he had ever had. Or was it because it followed the strangest thing he had ever put in his mouth? He wasn’t sure.
Garou attacked him with his mouth again, a mouth that was human in all the right ways, with soft lips and just-sharp-enough teeth. He bit and pulled at Mumen’s bottom lip, and when Mumen gasped and opened his eyes - they were closed so much of the time, trying to surround himself in the surreal, carnal dance he was taking place in, letting his nerves and flesh do the looking - he saw those slits of gold: a little mischievous, intrigued, and full of lust.
“Fuck me,” Mumen pled. “Please fuck me...Garou…”
“Is that what you want, human? Already?” He panted the words, just far enough from contact with him to reply. Long nails rake down his sides, toy with his ass.
There’s that tentacle again, rubbing, pressing. It’s like he’s riding on it, and then -- “Ah!” He wasn’t sure how he could describe the sensation. It was sort of like a shock? A vibrating shiver? “What...what was that?”
“It’s how I feel where I am through the water. I send it out, it bounces back, I can see what’s even in the darkest depths.”
“E- ahh, echolocation?” Garou did it again, and he could feel it travel all the way up to the tip of him. He struggled a bit in Garou’s arms, but the seawolf seemed more than intent to have his way.
“Whatever you want to call it.” Garou was tonguing his chest in broad strokes, probably to lick up the thin, viscous spunk that had dripped there. “Your body tastes amazing, by the way...gods, I’ve had a lot of humans but…” Garou laughed when Mumen pouted behind his glasses. “I was just kidding!”
“Do you bring many here?” he asked, seriously, then added, not wanting to ruin the moment or make Garou back off. “Because...I couldn’t blame them. You’re beautiful and amazing and...and...I’ve never been with anyone like you.”
Garou seemed amused by his confession more than anything, his hands going down to grab his waist and pull him in, rubbing him against what would have been his crotch. Mumen moaned at the soft flesh against his hard, sensitive cock. “No, no I do not. Most people heed the warnings, you know. Read the signs. Stay away from beasts like me.”
“You’re - mm, right there, yes, please - you’re not a beast. You’re…” Mumen trailed off, because he didn’t actually know what to say, as much as he wanted to say something. So he didn’t say anything; instead, he pulled out of Garou’s limbs, a cacophony of suckers popping following the movement, and initiated his own kiss, wrapping his arms around his neck and climbing more firmly into his lap. “You’re something I like, and that can’t be but so beastly.”
Smiling, Garou held him close, shaking his head as the tentacles that had been on his biceps and wrists took more to his legs, spreading them. “Something you like,” he purred in his ear. “I’ll take that.”
Mumen let out a deep, loud moan as Garou’s still-slick cock slipped into and around his hole. It wasn’t a definitive thrust to enter, but rather a feel, as though it were getting its bearings. It curled around and made that same, intense vibration, and Mumen sank his fingertips into Garou’s shoulders. “Oh God…”
“I like how warm you are inside,” he whispered, and another jolt made him clench. “It’s a challenge making room for myself...don’t worry, I won’t go too far.” He chuckled. “Just enough that you’ll like it.”
“Garou...fuck, Garou…” He nosed under his ear, sucking on the pale flesh there, the muscles. “Please...harder…”
He entered in more, still worming his way in, and just when Mumen thought he would stop, he hit the deepest end of him, nearly making him scream when he sent another wave into it.
“There...that’s what I want.” Garou pulled him back by the hair, devouring his face, sucking on his tongue in a way that made Mumen’s toes curl. When he did the same thrust and shock once more, he tried to bring his legs together with a whine. “Mumen…”
“I...I’m not going to be able to hold out!”
“I think you can.” Every time his canines scraped his chin, Mumen thought he might faint. “I want you to come with me. Don’t you?”
It was embarrassing how he whimpered. “Depends on how long you can go…” He gasped as the tentacles shifted for another angle that Garou pummeled vigorously, making it apparent that whether he said five minutes or five hours really wasn’t going to matter. “I-if I come, will you keep going?” he huffed out with each movement.
“Obviously!” Garou grinned, looking much more wolfish. His hair had started drying more, and it stuck up in two ‘ears.’ God, that was cute. He was so interesting…
Garou kept pumping, and when Mumen came again, it didn’t matter that it technically hadn’t been that long because he milked him with bump after bump on his prostate, twisting and making it throb. His orgasm made it so his whole body shook and jerked, dripping onto the blue stone floor.
He figured maybe that the way he went rigid would urge Garou with him, to join him.
It didn’t.
“Ooh…” Mumen moaned, suddenly so sensitive and aching that he got a little teary-eyed from it. “G-Garou...please…”
“Please?” Garou laughed. “Again?”
It was a bit like blacking out, then, because Garou picked up his pace, so fast and hard that the sounds of it echoed in the cave. The seawolf grabbed him up with his entire body, squeezing him, leaving circular bruises all over as he spilled out again, the hot mess leaking between and down his legs.
Mumen twitched, coming dry, and when it finally eased off like a fire being put out, he was in the water, being touched with such tenderness that he thought he might melt into it, float like seafoam that would fall apart once the moment ended. Garou’s voice was soft in his ear. “Okay?”
He opened up an eye and smirked. “We’re bonded, right? You tell me.”
Garou grinned and tugged him against his chest.
---
After that, there was only one person who could get him to leave the house, the one he moved into the next week.
And it wasn’t any of the neighbors.

Destination Caribbean!
When you think Caribbean you think drinks by the pool, gorgeous views, perfect sandy beaches and all that is a yes. But also the adventures that are waiting for you down there are SO WORTH IT! I have swam in underground caves, zip lined through the rainforest, snorkeled Belize’s Great Blue hole!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have visited Haiti,(Top photo) their is this huge zip line that starts at the highest point on the island for you adventure seekers! If you are a more laid back and wanting the sunshine please PLEASE wear lots of sunscreen the sun comes down on you like no other! I have been to Mexico multiple times (Please note: Cancun will have its own blog!) I have visited Cozumel, Cancun, Maya Rivera, and Costa Maya. My personal favorite has been and always will be Cozumel the water is so beautiful! If you sit on a dock, ship, or beach about noon the water sparkles and shimmers pictures DO NOT DO THIS JUSTICE! We took a buggy tour of the island visited the beach and the ruins. Well worth visiting! Costa Maya is more of a shopping port, not very big but it’s got a lot of neat stores and very nice discount jewelry!
Tumblr media
We have also visited Belize! Gorgeous country please note I do not mean this mean but if you go on a cruise ship cannot speak for resorts but they highly recommend that you go on a tour. We in fact did the tour of their great barrier reef! Saw sharks, eels, tons of jelly fish, sting rays, so many great and colorful fish! Well worth the tour and yes I fully admit I did the beginners snorkel. Haha! Also be careful the tour guide will tell you the jelly fish don't sting..YES  they do in fact they stung me twenty seven times! I guess I have what they want nobody else got stung ha go figure!
Another fun few places are the Virgin Islands. Whether its a beach day, exploring the town or like we did swim with the rays! Yes the stingrays! They are gentle creatures and truly they feel like rubber! We also visited a wonderful sanctuary where they rehabilitate mainly sharks, but many other creatures in need. It was located on St. Thomas we also visited St. Lucia where we zip-lined through the rainforest. So funny story I have to commend my friends because they waited until I laughed before they laughed as you can clearly tell from reading this crazy things happen to me. What can I say? I attract crazy I guess but back to the story I did indeed bounce of a tree while zip-lining! I’d also suggest visiting Puerto Rico! Rainbow row, senior frogs and who can say no to the awesome beach and fun people?! I know I can’t! I’d defiantly say downtown is a must! Giant pirate ship and wild life, tons of local restaurants, and also if your a history nut like me definitely visit their battle scenes!
Tumblr media
For more pictures from these trips find me on Instagram at Jenkready7.More island blogs will be coming soon! Thanks for traveling to this part of the map with me!

The Experiment: Ch. 5
This one’s a little short, but it’s got lots of action!
As always, the gem au I saw by @angerydj
Red Agate slammed his fists on the and let out a primal roar at the pearl. Clutching his bubbled Citrine, the pearl closed and Locke did the door.
Red Agate wasn’t just angry, he wasn’t just furious, he was boiling with rage. It bubbled and spewed inside of him. It filled him up and made his whole body heat up. He tore through the building on all fours. He didn’t feel like himself, and that was just as well. He felt bigger, stronger, angrier, hotter.
Burn it all!
So close to learning the truth and it was lost. Poofed and bubbled away. He clawed at walls leaving burning black marks. He punched at doors and made them cave in.
He felt himself hunch forward as he moved angrily. He couldn’t find words so he growled and roared at any gem in his way. No, he didn’t just make noises at the gems, he attacked them mercilessly.
Some screamed at him and ran away once he got outsid. Other gems tried attacking him, too. He was not going to be bullied. He caught weapons with his mouth and pulled them away. He slashed at gems with burning claws until they poofed. One gem he caught in his mouth. He could swallow it. He could crack it.
“No! Please! Let her go!” A sunstone begged him. Red Agate growled and leaned forward. He was not looking at the sunstone.
What was that in the window behind the gem?
It was a beast that looked like lava. Sharp fangs and smoke that came out of the sides of its mouth. Strange black spikes on its head, and an even stranger gem on its chest.
I’m here. It’ll be alright
No no! Get out! GET OUT!!
The gem fell from his mouth. He reared up and stomped on the sunstone with both front paws. He ran through the colony, desperate for escape from the hostile territory around him.
Have to get out. This isn’t safe!
We’ll be fine.
Red Agate paused and roared. His head and gem hurting. It felt like some part of him was drowning in the magma that made him up. It reached to try to stoke the flames, but nothing could be done. He needed to leave the colony. He turned around and noticed his footprints left puddles of lava wherever he went. Where was the crack in the dome?
Something hit him. It... hurt? Who hurt him?! An amethyst. She was done for once the beast laid eyes on her. She was thrown around like a rag doll before she finally poofed when it jumped on her.
Almost there!
The beast ran onward to the crack. He felt something wrap around his front legs. Whips from various gems. He reared back on his hind legs and slammed his paws on the he whips, sending waves of fire down the lines and causing the gems holding them to let go.
Need to get out, need somewhere safe!
He squeezed throughout the crack, making it bigger in the process, and ran from the cave to the ocean. But the water stung his paws. He hissed and growled. The water was safe! It had pretty things that made enough him feel good! It was safe!
Beast ran back then jumped into the water.
IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT
Poof!
Reduced to his gem, the beast was done. Red Agate finally found rest as the waves lapped against his gem.
Many hours later, he reformed under the ocean. He chose a form identical to his last. His shirt no longer had the symbol for the diamonds, but it was still white wit pink short sleeves. He was taller than most agates, no matter how many times he had to reform from his gem. But he felt different this time. He looked down at his hands, then up to the moon he could barely see above the waves.
“What am I?” Red Agate asked
He received no response.
Of course.
He walked, alone in his thoughts. In the water, he noticed less fish than before. He assumed they were hiding.
Then he saw it.
Cruising through the water, a shark of great size swam just over him. Such a powerful creature on earth. Humans feared it.
And yet, it was harmless. It attacks when it is either hungry or being attacked first. Like right now, they were virtually harmless unprovoked.
While watching it, Red Agate tried to recall what happened that made him wind up in the ocean. He couldn’t. He remembered Citrine poofing herself and her pearl bubbling her, then... He was angry. It felt like a star inside of him exploded. The pieces were coming together slowly.
Slowly...
Red Agate sighed and walked on, the shark swimming in the same direction.
He wondered what happened to Onyx. He was a brave gem. He survived the war on Earth without a scratch on his form or gem. And what ever did happen to that other red agate? The one with the cape. The more he thought about the gem, the more he realized his whip had the same pattern as his cape.
They were the same gem. There were bound to be similarities. From the shape of their faces, to the spots patterned all over their bodies.
The shark changed direction.
Red Agate watched it go, then accidentally stubbed his toes on the reef. He growled and walked around the coral. Not as many fish were swimming around now. He stopped when he witnessed a stingray that was buried under the sand pop up and swallow a smaller fish whole.
Stingrays were another interesting and dangerous aquatic creature. Some species were giants, their wings blocking out the sun to any bottomdwellers. They were seen as graceful and smooth, but with a dangerous spikes with toxic barbs.
But once again, they were only dangerous when provoked or hungry.
As Red Agate walked out of the water onto the beach. He wondered what kind of animal was dangerous all the time, provoked or not?
“Monster.” He whispered, seeing footprints of something.
The sand turned to glass and glistened under the night sky. Red Agate knelt down beside one footprint. The glass had cooled, and it was definitely bigger than him. He traced them back into the cave.
It stomped on the spot of fusion. But the space wasn’t ruined. The three footprints were preserved under a layer of glass.
The molten hole in the dome was still smoldering. Walking through, Red Agate looked up. The screens surrounding the hole were fritzing, but still showcased a night sky.
The warp pad looked untouched, and unused since their arrival. He thought about hopping on to leave. He shook his head. Maybe some other night.
There was still wreckage strewn about the grounds of the colony. Remnants of a fiery beast. A few gems that were outside noticed him, then fearfully looked away. He payed them no mind, and went to the school.
To his office.
The door was locked, but instead of the handprint, he was now able to use an access code. The room had been rearranged just slightly according to his style. It was perfect for the leader of the school.
The “principal”, he remembered from the human dictionary.
Red Agate walked around the room. Something felt missing. He tapped a message out for a bismuth to make a little something and sent it off.
Red Agate would hold the power over the infant gems. Memories of himself training gems once again pushed their way forward, but he held them off. He was not on homeworld any more. This was his world.
Whatever mistakes he made would not happen again. Whatever pain he felt was long gone. And the memories? They are nothing but fleeting glimpses of a past life. A part of him that no longer exists.
What kind of a creature attacks unprovoked? Monsters and leaders.
Let him be both.
This school was his world, and long may he rule.
But...
Little did Red Agate know that his determination to put the past behind him would only seal his fate. For when young gems started the youngest grade, ironically the humans called it “Kindergarten”, a red zircon and a yellow sapphire would meet and change everything.

NOOSA -31st Jan- 15th Feb
NOOSA 30th-15th February
Can’t even explain how much we loved this place - definitely our favourite beach bum places on the east coast so far! We saw the most stunning coastline , wild dolphins- wild koala , canoed the Everglades and Fraser island was definitely a highlight of our lives, life memories and friends made there for sure. Noosa is a bit less hippie than Byron ( more up our street) and just beautiful everywhere. Apparently it’s where a lot of ozzies travel for a summer holiday. We didn’t want to leave…
When we arrived we had about 3 days to chill out before our first tour. It was baking hot so we spend most of time beach buming and trying to find water to swim in to cool down. The main beach was just stunning - we were playing in the waves on the first day and Oli shouted ‘Jess watch out!’ Then a wave tumbled over our heads before I got chance to hear what he said so I was freaking out thinking it was a shark or something! Turns out a swarm of blue bottle jelly fish had floated in - managed to get out without being stung but called it a day after that. Ended up going to Noosa spit - noosa is lined with beautiful houses along rivers ( boats parked outside like Miami) and they each have a little beach opposite where you can swim. Spent an afternoon there lounging in the water - we were sat still for too long though and both got bitten by fish!
Locals in noosa are just awesome and friendly- no different to anywhere else. We had just come off the beach and were chilling in the van having a coffee and a local came up to us giving us some shit about the crack in the window screen! English mindsets we first thought he was trying to sell us a screen or something but turns out he was just being friendly - introduced us to his daughter and we ended up chatting for about 40 minutes.
We visited the famous ’ Eumundi Market’ the next day - it was way better than we expected and we completely blew the travel budget… Oppsie. It was absolutely huge! We had to park so far away and walk in because there was just hundred of cars. Tried tapioca for the first time - great for me as I’m now GF. Grown in Brazil. Ol got a sexy new rucksack :)
Next day we did the coastal noosa national park walk and it was just stunning!
The gagaju bush camp took the next three days. 3 days canoeing the Everglades- awesome. We met the group and our leader at the supermarkets and brought all the food and drink ect we’d need , a couple of German lads we’d met the night before in a camp site were on the same trip so that was cool- drove in convoy to the camp - got shown around the hilariously shocking accommodation - (we were last dibs too because we were chatting too much - they were like handmade bamboo bunk beds with a bit of mesh hanging down you were supposed to sleep on - no mattress or anything - and Olis bit of mesh was ripped so he’d basically we sleeping on the floor haha - we ended up sleeping in the van). Did a small hike that night and saw about 10 kangaroos - two were mummies with baby Roos in their pouches was amazing too see. They let us watch standing quite close - and then the ( we assume daddy) got a bit wary and stood up towering over us on his tail so we backed off after that! Had a swim in the river when we got back and Had a fun night playing drinking games and getting to know our team for the next day.
We were up and ready to go canoeing at 7am - canoes were Canadian style with the single sided oar - and had three people in each. We were given a barrel to put our lunch and bits in - awesome day! Luckily the current was on our side so it wasn’t too difficult. The day before they had been fighting the current for the whole 16k and they looked absolutely jaded! There was some lads that were just hanging out their arses and Henry was still smashed singing the whole way so it was hilarious. We stopped off at this rope swing into the river- all the lads were doing it ( it was actually quite high and scary when you got up the ladder) I was all confident until I got up there but too late to turn back at that stage with everyone watching so just went for it! Only girl to do it though 💪. We carried on up the river to this little beach where we had lunch which was cool and then made it back for about 4pm. I learned how to steer ( the posh way by dragging the oar in the water ) by copying the Canadian guy Joe on the way back - life skillsss.
Got accidentally drunk that night on goon for the first time with this awesome German girl Kim. Never again. The next morning was a struggle but we made it out again- ( about 10 people didn’t!) shorter trip up the Everglades the opposite way. We were fighting the current day two so was much harder - half way we left the canoes on the sand and went swimming in a water hole for about an hour until we were all shaking we got got so cold!
We left that day and headed back to Noosa- found a cute little campsite close to the beach and had another few days buming round Noosa. We did the national park walk again (once wasn’t enough) and we were lucky enough to see our first wild koala and a whole pod of dolphins playing in the surf! Amazing. We got the long baords out and went all around the coast too which was cool.
Fraser Island filled our next few days and it was just UNREAL. We got a free nights stay in noomads hostel the night before and the night after the trip … So we went there on the 8th for our first briefing. Got shown lots of boring videos about how to drive safely on sand. There was about 100 girls and 4 lads so that worried us a bit - didn’t want to be stuck in a car full of girls. So we went to the bar that night will full intentions of making a bline for all the lads - that didn’t happen and we ended up spending the night talking to this Irish couple that weren't even going on our tour 🙈but just before we went to bed we bumped into nick! Got on like a house on fire & instantly decided to team up:) next morning ( our 5 year anniversary what a way to spend it !) we got the two hour bus to rainbow beach where we picked the jeeps. Met Bailey ( Canadian girl) who was ace - then two more people , Olivia ( German but South American parents and spoke Spanish) and Andreas ( from Chile). We all just clicked - spent three days tearing around the beaches with all the windows down singing our hearts out. Ace! All the stop offs were just dreamy - lake McKenzie the water is so clear you can drink it - so we did , sand is so fine you can brush you teeth with so we did, exfoliated our skin- played volley ball , made a human pyramid in the sand, Eli Creek - was like a natural lazy river and the water was ice cold ( the boys have about an hour footage of trying to feed the fish with horse flies they caught 🙈) the champagne pools were awesome- were really rough , we got hit by a wave that dragged most of us across the coral into the next pool - Lucy and I have the scars to prove it! And a fish took a chunk out of Lucys bum which was hilarious! Indian head was a small cliff we climbed up for the view - saw a stingray from the top which was cool . Saw a ship wreck and on the last day we stopped off at lake wabi which was actually my favourite of the whole lot - we hiked through the sand dunes ( which was a killer for me who was dying off a goon hangover again!) and then there was this awesome lake in the middle of the dunes - absolutely stunning. You can see turtles there so we spent a while looking for them but didn’t see any, they have the fish that eat your dead skin so we all sat in a line with the fish eating our dead skin, then our guide said he would give $50 to anyone who could catch a catfish with their bare hands so we had a go! Obviously failed but we fed them flies haha.
We named are car Toni-( before we found out the name of our guide which was Tony lol!) he made our trip he was just fantastic. Really got involved with us , full of awesome stories and knew everything there was to know about Fraser- he caught a sea snake - told us all about it and released it - even drank with us at night and chased a dingo down the beach ( such a good Australian) he catches sharks in his spare time- once caught a tiger shark - took him 16 hours - he was harnessed to his truck and he made beans on toast twice durning the time- awesome!
We were all fighting for the drivers seat but split it fairly- it was just amazing bombing along next to the sea- our hostel was pretty basic but there was a pool we could use in our down time which was cool. Would recommend it to anybody- best trip ever. We came close with a few girls from the uk in a different car too- Lucy, little and Emma.
(We attempted to GoPro video the entire canoe Everglades tour and it was ok but the videos were too short to clip- so we did it again for Fraser - literally had about 60 videos and some of them are class! So really excited to made a Fraser video whenever we get a rainy day) Slept the entire way back to Noosa and the hostel put on an after party- free pizza and drinks which was cool of them. Some pretty dire games that we got involved in accidentally that might have been funny if we were 18 ha but we didn’t care we were still so hyped from the trip.
Next day we we returned to our baby Hayley and drove up the coast to Rainbow Beach ( Again) probably would have been better to drive up and meet the guys there but then we might not have met the gang and had such a good car so hey) rainbow beach is another beach with 4x4's racing down it - it’s like a beach highway - so cool. And Its surrounded by this awesome cliff face that is actually all different colours. Walked the length of it had a coffee then drove up north again until it got dark - parked up in this really creepy campsite with only one other car ( met this German girl who was a complete drag but had dinner with her) then next day headed to Hervey Bay - this is usually a whale watching town but it’s not the season for it so there wasn’t a huge amount to sea. It’s a marine national park so you can see manatees and sea turtles and everything if your there at the right time. We walked the pier and met a fisherman who told us a spot to sea two huge sea turtles ( which we did- was cool) and then that night we had the most amazing experience. Paid $12 each to watch baby turtles hatch and run into the sea for the first time. Mon Repos is a turtle breeding beach that is patrolled every night by Rangers. As the turtles are so endangered they have a special tagging system for the ones that are high priority and the ones that return so they can track numbers - there was videos and presentations about the guy behind the whole conversation programme and it was pretty amazing listening to all the work they have done over the years. When turtles hatch they join the south east Australian current ( finding nemo lol) and they go all the way to South America - eating things like plankton and jelly fish - they are more protected from predators in the current. They don’t return until they are about 16 years old and then they stay put as they are big enough to not be a prey target form bigger fish and sharks. They only go on land to lay - and they return to the same beach they were born on ( they know where to go because when they run from the nest to the sea for the first time they made a magnetic imprint that they remember ( amazing) and they can lay up to 500 eggs at one time. The estimate is that only 1 in a 1000 make it back to the same beach! So when you see a big one it’s pretty amazing. When the female lays she does so at night and goes straight back to the sea and has nothing more to do with them- so the conservation team patrol - and when the eggs are laid they build a cage around it to stop foxes and birds of prey taking the eggs - when the baby turtles climb up through the sand they take 10 ( out of about 70 usually) if it’s us a priority mother ( so endangered or local or retuning mother ) weigh and tag the babies - and then release them. The rest in the nest are realised straight away.
When the babes are doing their run to the sea they make sure no crabs or anything take them and make sure they all reach the sea! Some get tired and need a helping hand - we got to see a priority nest being released after they had been to the lab- your not allowed to use lights are anything they are guided to the sea by natural light . They were all so tired it was so cute and when they reached the sea it took them about 6 attempted each because the waves kept washing them in - then we stayed late ( most people went home ) and we got to see another nest running to the sea - these were not priority so there was tons of them and they had loads of energy and were running to the sea - amazing. And then the conservation team dig up the nests 24 hours after the turtles climb up to check that none have been left behind - because if one gets trapped for some reason they are not able to climb on their own so they die. So we watched a ranger dig up a nest and we rescued 2! So we released them into the sea - they also count how many eggs don’t develop and check what stage of development the eggs are at so they can monitor it. Amazing experience.
The next day we drove up to 1770 - there wasn’t too much going on but had had a small Fraser reunion and also bumped into some friends from the canoeing tour. We’d planned to go surfing the next day but the conditions weren't great- also found out we can’t go inland to do the national parks up here because you need a 4x4 - still have about 10 days to kill till Whitsundays so we’re going to try and find some casual work ( fruit picking or something ) for a week.
Day of the Everglades trip - we arranged some farm work - living with a family in cairns and learning how to run their farm for the first month-12 cows- few pigs - chickens - 2 dogs and the second month we’d be running it on our own while they went on holiday to Scotland- would get accommodation - food - live in the house and 2 months of our farming signed off so we could extend our visa) we weren’t going to be earning much money but thought it would be worth it to get a chunk of our farming signed off for a good experience. Found out today that we don’t think they can provide us with all the credentials we need for it to be legal - which we’re gutted about because we were really excited- still waiting to here but pretty sure it’s not going to happen. New plan is probably try to find a small farm and suck it up for 3 months- you can earn a ton of money and means we can extend our visas if we want to once we get to Melbourne- so that’s all ongoing - bit up in the air for now.
Currently just entered croc zone! So no swimming in rivers anymore. It’s dark so about to pull up to crash. It’s the 15th Feb …. Up to date woop!
