King: "Structures of Exos and hardware." *Scanning* "Nothing on ths Light specifically yet.

Dek-3: "Keep searching. The Warmind has spent centuries researching the Light and its affect on Exos." *Sending a message to Rasputin*

Dek-3: *Steps to another computer and continues running through files*

*Papers and other tech gadgets for storing notes laying around the many screens and computers laying in the ruins of Mars.*

Dek-3: *Frustration building* "Where are the answers I need?!

King: "....Maybe we should take a break." *Dek-3 moves to another computers covered in notes*

Dek-3: *Another dead end* WHERE ARE THE ANSWERS WHEN I NEED THEM!!!! *throws all the notes and gadgets across the room off the computers*

Dek-3: *trudges over to the wall and slides down it with their back until they're sitting, their head in their hands*

Dek-3: *whisper* Why can't I save him?

King: *floats over to Dek-3 and floats next them* "Please take a break and I'll keep looking. Would you be fine with that?" *A slight nod from Dek-3*

King: * Floats away and starts scanning more computers and bouncing messages back and forth as quiet sobbing is heard behind him* *He winces wishing there was more he could do*

Risen: (viscera on his helmet turns to Dek-3) You're right. (Continues killing fallen with his head)

On the Tangled Shore in a bar

Lira the hunter: Look at this beauty of a rifle. Won her off a hunter who couldn't hit the broadside of a Ketch. Too bad he didn't know its value

Dek-3 the Warlock: (pulls out a monocle and puts it on, pushes aside an empty bowl before them, and leaning in to get a closer look)

That's Ada-1's design.

Lira: Yup. Izanagi's Burden. This has got to be the best rifle this side of the Reef. (She ran her hand down the rifle almost reverently)

Dek-3: ........ And you thought to bring this rifle to the Tangled Shore

Lira: yup (she grinned)

Dek-3: .....the most murderous, the most crime ridden and the most dangerous isle this side of the reef. (A gang of of fallen, awoken outlaws, and cabal had gathered around)

Lira: Oh sh#t....

Dek-3: (leaning back in their chair) Oh sh#t indeed.

Lira: (eyes darting back and forth as the gang closed in seeing a knife on the table, an ether tank on a captain's waist, a rubber chicken, and a nearby garbage full of banana peels)

Lira: Friends, friends, do you want to hear a joke?

A moment later....

(Crashing out the bar window into a roll then a sprint down the tunnel came Lira and Dek-3 the former of which was struggling to carry a garbage bag)

Dek-3: HOW WAS THAT A JOKE?!?!?!

Lira: IT'S NOT MY FAULT THEY CANT TAKE A JOKE!!

Dek-3: YOU LIT THEM ON FIRE!!!!

(A large group of awoken and fallen cme running out of the bar alternatively either screaming from being on fire or firing at the unlucky two.)

Dek-3: (in a mocking imitation) Come on Dek let's go to the Tangled Shore. Nothing bad will happen. Trust me. They have the best ramen and I hear they serve three times as much noodles.(they ducked as an arc bolt came whizzing by)

Lira: You weren't complaining when you were devouring that bowl of ramen (jumped aside as a scorch cannon shot came rocketing and into a cake shop run by a malfunctioning vex)

Lira: Damn it!!! I loved that shop.

(The two continued running as a rumble came from behind the awoken and fallen. A pause as they looked back and saw the wall explode out crushing them under rubble)

(From out of the destroyed wall of the bar was a cabal Gladiator with a rubber chicken stuck on his head. A muffled roar came from him as he started running towards the unfortunate two)

Dek-3:(They looked behind them and became paler as they saw what was chasing them. Which was rather impressive for an exo)

WHY DID YOU DO THAT?!?!?!

Lira: (Shrugging) Thought it would be hilarious.

(As they ran their path was coming to an end as the tunnel was dropping off into the abyss. A cliff awaited them)

Dek-3: NOW WHAT?!?!?!

Lira: .........Can you Daybreak?

Dek-3:.......I dont know

Lira: How do you not know?! I thought studying was all Warlocks ever did. How do you not know hiw Daybreak by now?

Dek-3: I'm a damned stormcaller!!! Not a high and mighty Dawnblade!!!

Lira: Can you try when I give the signal?

Dek-3: ...........Alright. You better pray to the Traveler whatever you have planned works.

Lira: (Begins emptying the bag full of banana peels behind them as they ran) I don't pray to a floating rock.

(They get to the end of the tunnel and stop. Lira pulls out her rifle and begins to charge the shot. She takes careful aim and waits)

(The Gladiator storming down the tunnel doesn't see the banana peels and slips on one and starts sliding. As he's just about to right himself a shot cracks and hits him in the shoulder knocking him down as his momentum carries him forward)

Dek-3: YES!! (Fist pump)

Lira: (rushing towards the edge and jumping off) JUMP!!!!!

Dek-3: (puzzled) Wha-(turns to see 800 pounds of cabal sliding towards them)

Dek-3: .......(jumps off the cliff)

(The cabal falling after them Lira reaches up and grabs onto Dek-3's leg.)

Lira: NOW!!!!!

(Dek-3 concentrating. Then a burst of fiery wings erupted lifting the two up to the surface of the the rock)

Dek-3: HA!! MY FIRST TRY AND I SUCCEED!!! I AM A GENIUS!!!! I AM A PRODIGY!!!! I AM A GO-

(The wings puff out of existence and they fall all ten feet down)

Lira:.........

Dek-3: ..........

(It was at that moment their two ghosts decide to slip out of their backpacks looking down on them)

King Dek-3's ghost: How is it an Exo such as you always ends up in these situations. You are far too intelligent for this.

Cal Lira's ghost: I dont know. I think it's rather amazing how far they've come. I mean did you see that jum-

Lira: (pulling out her handcannon and aiming in the general direction of the ghosts) Not another word

Dek-3:(Dek-3 looks back towards the rising plume of smoke to see an explosion that blasts a crater where the bar once was)

Dek-3: Let's not tell Risen about this

Lira: Agreed
