Random Obey Me! Headcanons

Belphie doesn't know how to swim and is too lazy to learn. The brothers have tried to teach him multiple times, but he always ends up giving up before he can make any real progress. He even fell asleep in the water while Satan tried to teach him once, and after that, the brothers just collectively gave up and accepted he'd probably never learn how.

Lucifer is terrible at baking and making any kind of sweets in general. This is funny, considering he's one of the best cooks in the house when it comes to preparing literally anything else. And Satan absolutely thrives off of this, as he actually masters all areas of the kitchen and will brag about how it's one of the things he's better at than Lucifer.

Beel loves rock and metal, they're his favorite music genres to listen to and motivate him when he's doing his morning run, practicing for future games, or going through his workout routine. He actually learned how to play drums because of it, and even performed in a concert when a friend's band was doing a show, and the friend called him a few hours earlier saying he couldn't make it and needed him to take his place. That day, multiple videos of the concert were posted to DevilTube and went viral. Everywhere, people were discussing how talented Beel was, and the brothers even encouraged him to enter the music industry. He refused though, saying he wanted to focus on sports as it was his main passion.

Satan was born a baby, though he grew faster than any other demon or angel. The way I picture this is that he would stay the same age for a few months and then jump to another out of nowhere, for example: he'd be 3 years old for a few months, and then suddenly jump to 5, staying that age for another set of time till he jumped to 7 and continued the cycle. This only stopped when he reached the age he'd originally have if he had born when first formed as an emotion in Lucifer's body. And so he now ages normally, as any other demon would.

There's a magic barrier around the House of Lamentation that stops any demon that's not one of the brothers, Diavolo or Barbatos from even passing the gates. But as mentioned, it only works on demons, hence why Luke was able to sneak in without the others even noticing during season 1. And this is the same for the Demons' Lord Castle, that also has a magic barrier around it.

Mammon smokes. It's his way to relax after an especially stressful day, he'll stand on the balcony staring at the view outside, alone in his thoughts for as long as he needs to. The brothers understand, as they all have their own ways to cope with stress, and always make sure to check on him at some point while he's there or after. Sometimes though, on very rare occasions, Lucifer will actually go and join him. They'll vent to each other about work, their day in general, and whatever is on their mind while smoking together. Those times are very special for both of them, as they can just chat and relax together without worrying about anything else, knowing they'll always have each other.

The characters' speech gets jumbled when they're drunk, they just start speaking multiple languages at the same time and it only gets worse the more drunk they are. For example, Levi will start spilling Japanese words and sentences in the middle of conversations, Solomon will talk in Old English and confuse everyone, and Lucifer, as the affectionate drunk he is, will just start mumbling I love yous and a bunch of soft praises in Infenal to his brothers and MC. It's a mess.

Levi is one of the most popular streamers in the Devildom when it comes to gaming, anime reviewing, and weeb content in general. He's everyone's favorite, and the one people go to for opinions before purchasing anything. He gets sent games before the official release, merch, figurines, etc. And although most of his streams involve just him, sometimes a brother will join. Mammon and Beel for the most part, but the others have all participated at some point. ( Fun fact: Levi broke his record of views when Lucifer accepted to join him after years and years of pestering. They played Minecraft together, chatted about random stuff, and the viewers were blown away seeing a new side of the eldest, as they only viewed him to be intimidating and unapproachable. To this day fans beg for another stream between the two, but Lucifer always refuses, saying that was the first and last time. )

Lucifer taught Satan how to play piano when he was younger. The fourth born however grew to resent the instrument, lumping it together in the long list of things he'll never pursue again because of how it only makes him more similar to the eldest. He does miss it sometimes though, and very rarely, when he's alone at home, he'll play one or two songs to himself and think back to the lessons Lucifer gave him long long ago.

Beel gives the best massages ever for some reason. You'd think not because of his size and clumsiness, but he actually knows how to control his strength and be a perfect mix between gentle and rough. Oftentimes Beel uses his skill on his brothers, mostly Lucifer and Levi as they're usually the ones staying sitting for too many hours at a time and end up stiff as rocks afterward.

Asmo has an OnlyDevil account where he shares spicy pictures/videos of himself that his fans go absolutely crazy for. His account is very popular and he's actually one of the most sought creators on the platform. Needless to say, the amount of money he makes out of it is no joke.

For some time after lesson 16, Beel didn't know how to interact with Belphie or how to even feel about what had happened, making him avoid the twin completely. It got to the point where he couldn't even stand sleeping in the same room as him, seeking Mammon every night to sleep with him instead. The second born never minded, as sharing a bed with the younger one kept the nightmares of MC's death away.

Satan has always been extremely sensitive to certain sounds, textures, and tastes. For example, there's a brand of milk he absolutely despises for how weird it tastes, despite all the brothers ( including Beel ) insisting that it tastes the exact same as any other milk they've had. There's also a certain type of fabric he can't wear because of how it feels on his skin, numerous foods he can't eat as they give an unimaginable ick, and noises that make him physically cringe at how uncomfortable they sound. The brothers have been aware of these things ever since Satan was born, and although they don't completely understand it, they always have it in mind when buying something for him or finding themselves on cooking duty.

In the Devildom, birthdays are celebrated every 100 years. Diavolo however is an exception to this rule, as he is of royal blood, and his birthday is made into a huge annual event across the entire kingdom. Following this, the brothers only began celebrating their birthdays annually once MC came into the picture, as they wanted to experience as many birthdays as they could while they were still around.

Lucifer regrets not accepting Satan as his son from the get-go, cursing his past self for denying responsibility for the blond when he was first created and the poor way he treated him. But he didn't know any better, he had just fallen after facing a war against his own problematic father, and the last thing he wanted was to label himself as someone's parent. But now he really wishes things had been different, though he's already accepted that it's far too late now, as thousands of years have passed and he believes he's lost his chance to make things right an eternity ago. It still pains him to this day though, to see the change in Satan's expression whenever someone makes the even slightest suggestion to them being anything more than brothers.

I've already made a separate post about this one, but the brothers can sense their sins on other people and feed off of it. Also, demon blood is dark black, while angel blood is bright gold.

One of the strangest Obey Me takes I’ve ever seen was that Diavolo was a shit ruler who his people should hate- like bro- regardless of what anyone personally thinks about Dia, (whatever your opinion is, it’s valid because its yours) in the game itself, his people canonically love him. It’s explicitly stated in one of the earliest chats you can get.

Literally no one is pissed that his student council officers are fallen angels (in the original game, Nightbringer is a different story) because the brothers are almost EQUALLY as loved as Dia. IIRC Lucifer got second place in that RAD popularity contest in one of the first chats in the game, only losing to Diavolo.

And during season two, that other popularity contest that we help Asmo win, it was down to O N E vote between Asmo and Lucifer, meaning the student body must R E A L L Y like these fuckers.

AND JUST A REMINDER, in Obey Me! canon, MC is only threatened with being eaten in the FIRST LESSONS by random background demons. For the rest of their time at RAD, they’re totally fine, and in a chat between Barbatos(?) and Simeon I believe, Simeon comments on how the other demons at RAD have stopped trying to eat him after MC started whipping the brothers into shape, showing that at least most of the student body is chill by season two.

Diavolo & The Loyalty Thing

Alrighty everyone, we're going to be blunt here -- if there is one character misunderstanding in this fandom that has always pissed us off (jk there are many actually), it is how people interpret Diavolo's deal with Lucifer after the war.

We know a lot of y'all don't like him because of that agreement. We know a lot of you think that Lucifer is magically bound to Diavolo's will because of it, as with a pact, and is unable to defy him. We know that many of you dislike Diavolo because you think he was taking advantage of Lucifer in that scene.

Well, the devs have made it plain time and time again and even more so in Nightbringer: that is not the case.

You are wrong, and here's why. (Or, to put it more nicely, please let us convince you otherwise.)

(spoilers including Nightbringer Lesson 17 below the cut)

Let's start by reviewing the situation from Lucifer's side:

Lucifer, a guest to the Devildom many times before in a diplomatic coordination context, has just led, and subsequently lost, a civil war in the Celestial Realm. The catalyst that pushed him to start this war was the impending punishment declared against his sister, Lilith. Seeing that sister get fatally wounded in said war, he flies down after her falling body, where both of them land in the Devildom.

Diavolo then shows up with Barbatos, presumably because they, you know, saw two war-wounded angels falling from the sky into his domain. Lucifer turns to Diavolo and starts shouting that he knows the prince has the power to save his sister -- and pleads with him to do exactly that.

Diavolo makes a point of telling Lucifer that it may not be in the way he expects or wants, but he agrees to do it on the condition that Lucifer swears loyalty to him. Barbatos attempts to interject against the idea, to which Diavolo responds that he's aware already that this is a big risk for him. Lucifer, upon realizing that he is becoming a demon himself as a consequence of the war, agrees to Diavolo's terms.

Diavolo then takes Lilith before she dies and reincarnates her as a human. This then remains a secret between the three of them from that moment all the way until the events of OG Lesson 15, when Lucifer finally confesses the whole thing to his brothers in the first timeline, and then OG Lesson 16, when MC reveals it (in the second timeline).

So to recap: Lucifer started a war with Lilith's punishment as the catalyst, lost, showed up in the Devildom, and then demanded the prince of that realm save his sister from essentially the same punishment he was fighting against in the first place.

To be clear about Diavolo and Lucifer's relationship at this point, they had been communicating about diplomatic affairs, as a governmental head and a top representative respectively. They are friendly, but not close friends yet. They are not allies in this war. Diavolo is not involved at all in the Great Celestial War or the situation with Lilith. And with this rebellion, Lucifer no longer holds that diplomatic status -- in fact, as mentioned in Nightbringer Lesson 8, the brothers were essentially war criminals in the eyes of the Celestial Realm, with Lucifer as the leader.

Moreover, Diavolo's goal as prince is that he wants to establish peace and cooperation between the Devildom and the Celestial Realm. These two realms were enemies for the vast majority of history, and although there is a nonaggression agreement between them currently, it's a tense sort of truce, not true peace.

Helping Lucifer defy the Celestial Realm is in direct opposition to that goal. Taking in the brothers at all is pretty risky in terms of that goal, as Barbatos makes clear above, but there's at least a sort of implication that it is the Demon Prince's business what to do with new demons. Interfering in the Celestial Realm's punishment of one of its angels though? Well, Asmodeus and Leviathan understand right away when they learned the truth from Lucifer back in OG Lesson 15.

There was a very real risk of pissing off the Celestial Realm that he had to calculate against here, and it's a risk that threatens not only him but everything that matters to him most -- his realm, which is a responsibility he takes very seriously, and his goals, for peace between the realms.

And then there's Diavolo's own precarious political situation.

Though Nightbringer retcons this a bit with Diavolo's father falling into a slumber and leaving the realm to Diavolo more suddenly, the original OM actually established that Diavolo was in charge before the fall, with the Demon King going off to sleep shortly after giving the brothers' their titles. And Nightbringer has shown that his position as the de facto leader of the realm is very much in question.

The nobles of the House of Lords are very blatantly unhappy about Diavolo and his goals, especially in regards to the now-fallen angels. Really, the whole realm doesn't really approve of angels -- they've made a clear point of it in NB, and even well into OG's main story, approval ratings for the exchange program are mentioned as being better but still pretty low, with various references to demons threatening to eat the angels.

But more to the point, the House of Lords has power over Diavolo. Though he is the rightful heir to the throne in terms of birth, they are able to challenge that right, and they even choose when he will be allowed to ascend to the throne -- something which, even in the distant future of OG, they still have apparently never allowed him to do, seeing as he's still not the king even after all this time. And just between his goals for peace and his taking in the fallen angels, they already maneuvered to punish him with suddenly demanding he go through the Kingsblood Crucible to potentially prevent him from ever becoming king. And as Diavolo says, even if he passes, they could still decide against appointing him king.

Now imagine if they found out that he risked the safety of the entire realm to help save a dying angel. If they knew that, they probably wouldn't stop at just challenging his fitness to rule.

So, to be clear, when Lucifer showed up with Lilith, yelling at Diavolo to save her? Diavolo was NOT free to just do whatever he pleases. When he said he's taking a big risk by helping Lilith, he really was. There were so many reasons why he shouldn't, and no real reason why he should -- but Lucifer was begging him to do it anyway. So, he needed something in return. Some kind of reassurance, some kind of protection in the potential consequences.

And there certainly are consequences for helping Lucifer. Even with the Lilith deal being a secret, there are consequences. We saw that already with the House of Lords' increased animosity -- as said above, he was nearly removed from power over it. And as for the Celestial Realm?

Well, that brings us to the end of Nightbringer Lesson 17, where Raphael comes bearing a message from the Celestial Realm -- or, more aptly, a threat.

(We could go into a whole thing about why the Celestial Realm is threatening this but that's for another time)

So, here we are, at the very dangerous crossroads that Diavolo finds himself at now in Nightbringer -- the Celestial Realm coming into his domain with blatant threats of war, while the nobles of his own realm just tried to remove him from power. Threats that are being made against him over helping Lucifer and the brothers. And that's without any of them knowing about Lilith, which would only make all sides even angrier.

You know what he could really use, amidst all those threats? An ally. Someone he could depend on to have his back. Someone he could rely on to be unequivocally on his side, in that very precarious balance of powers.

So that's what he asked for -- loyalty. For all that he was putting on the line for Lucifer's request, he asked for Lucifer to stand by him in turn. What he asked was simply this: "Don't stab me in the back. Don't leave me to deal with the consequences alone. If I'm going to help you, promise me you will be there for me too."

P.S. Lucifer himself has said he agrees with Diavolo's goals. Talking with Diavolo about the peace and cooperation plan was a huge part of why he started having doubts about the Celestial Realm! He was not being asked to do anything he disagreed with; Diavolo knew Lucifer feels the same about his goals as he does. Lucifer takes the loyalty thing too far in OG Season 1, but it was never the only reason for him supporting Diavolo!

MC Grooms the Boys! Part 2

MC finds themself watching as only a few of the boys actually regularly take care of their demon appendages and thats fine, but self matinence is hard sometimes so after reading all about it, you decide that they need help!

Diavolo

Diavolo is a busy and powerful man, when you ask if he grooms himself or if he has attendants like Barbatos groom him, Diavolo quite literally freezes in his tracks, shocked.

its a second before he reboots and gives you a sheepish grin.

honestly, hes busier than he looks and doesn't often get the time to properly groom. sometimes he gets a hand from barbatos or Lucifer, but they're both quite busy too, and while he'd lvoe to accept, no one else besides his parents has ever offered to help groom him before.

you find that shocking, but yeah, actually when you think about it, that makes sense.

instead you change tactics and tell Diavolo you'd asked because youd read about demon grooming and asked him if he would let you groom him.

he turns to you so excited so fast that you get whiplash from it.

did you think he'd say no? this man is so happy he drags you to his palace and sticks you in his office before leaving you for a mniute, returning after a literal minute with a sixable bag of grooming tools and oil options to choose from. he then, like an excitable puppy, moves to his desk and snaps his fingers so his chair no longer has a back.

the wings and giant horns emerge and once you recover as he waits happily for you to get started, you look through the bag and start with a stiff brush to run over the top of his wings first.

you can see and hear Diavolo doing paperwork as you groom him, but he's not going very fast and keeps letting out happy little sighs whenever you hit a really nice spot on his wings or a very soft little growl-adjecent noise when you put too much pressure or scratch too hard somewhere.

all in all it's very chill and he seems to be productive as you work on his wings, but when youre done and need to do his horns, you pause and wonder if you should interrupt his work-

diavolo's not doing work, he's just making random doodles on a piece of paper. when he realizes he's been caught he gives you the most chill look and sheepish little grin. bro almost looks like hes been drugged with how calm the normally very excitable man is.

hes not, he can assure you, but it's been so long since he got groomed to such an depth extent and he really couldn't focus, it simply felt too good. but would you still do his horns even if he wasn't productive?

as weak as they are to you, you really can't say no to those pleading and wide eyes of melted gold, so he turns his chair around and you take just as good care of his horns as you did his wings.

at the end, when you're putting his things away, you have a very happy demon lord at your back and if you ask for something, if it's in his power at all, you could get it if you dared to ask.

dont be surprised if he blurts out, at some point, a question about you doing again. he'll pay you for your services of course, but you were really very good at it.

Barbatos

sorry you would like to what? Barbatos is dumbfounded at your forwardness as you ask him to let you groom him.

you have a book on grooming habits of demons under your arm and a bag in your other hand with the supplies one would need for grooming. you came fully prepared to make good on your question.

Barbatos is busy, he appreciates your offer, but-

you grin at him and hold up a paper from the bag, a note from Lord Diavolo to take the day off with his signature at the bottom. you look very proud of yourself, barbatos isn't sure if his brow should be twitching at your smugness or if he should be blushing at your forethought and kindness.

but if he has to day off, well he can't remember if he's ever gotten help before with grooming, and it had been some time since he did more than keep up his appearance. he could do with a proper in depth grooming. and he simply can't say no to those eyes of your and the hope in them.

he escorts you to his room where he quickly sets up a few pillows and blankets on the ground for comfortability and asks how you would like to do this.

goes bright red at your suggestion that he either sits almost in your lap or laid across it so you can properly reach all of his tail.

in the end he decides decides that netiher will do and lays on his stomach to have you sit on the backs of his thighs, feeling thats the least embarassing option here as he's never been groomed by another before and 1, wants to make sure he has a pillow to bite on is nessecary since his tail is sensitive so you can't hear him should he make any noises, and 2 he would rather you sit on him than lay himself across your lap, the implications are simply too sexual for such a simply matter.

you're not going to argue if this is what hes comfortable with, so you get starts by rubbing down his tail in circular motions with a boft brush to get rid of any old loose scales. by the time you work from the base to the split in his tail, Barbatos has gone limp under you and is making a noise in his throat that sounds a hell of a lot like purring.

sexual implications and nice view nothing, he's blushing a bit only because the gentle pressure and relief that comes with someone else grooming him is something both new to him and amazing.

the split in his tail causes you pause and in that moment of clarity Barbatos gives you a few instuctions before going limp again when you get right bakc to it.

through the next brush and then rubbing oil into his tail, that's a purring mess of a happy demon beneath you.

youre laughing to yourself and trying not to show it as you poke Barbatos until he snaps out of his stupor so you can do his horns.

those are . . . very complicated, and now he smiles, sits up, and leans down as he guides your hands and shows you how to scrub and clean them off, the purr still edging his voice as you do as instructed as carefully as possible.

despite his warning that his horns are sturdier than they look, it seems so fragile so you're being very cautious to not accidentally break it. that would hurt him a lot after all.

when it's over hes right back up, but he did get a whole day off, so hes quick to offer you a hand off the floor and ask if he could treat you to a cafe he really enjoys in thanks (it could be platonic or romantic, but either way, its a date, who says no to barabtos when he invites them out?!)

Simeon

Simeon chokes on his tea when you ask if he needs help grooming. Once he can breathe he asks what makes you think that.

You tell him you'd read a book about demon grooming habits and got curious about angels, so Solomon gave you a book on angels and you knew they had a shedding season. One of the signs of shedding for an angel not using their angelic form, is the repeated shifting and rolling of the shoulders.

Simeon . . . Can't exactly deny that he's sort of agitated and it is very itchy. Normally angels help each other out during shedding season but Luke's too young to know how to really do be helpful in the way Simeon needs.

He tries to brush it off saying it's annoying but he can take care of it himself, it just takes more time. You're not having it and drag him out to go shopping and get grooming supplies, but the stores you get Simeon to agree to go to don't have what you need, so what do you do? You call Lucifer.

He's not a total dick, as the only one of his brothers who still goes through a shedding season, he has everything and is willing to let you borrow his things for the time being.

But it does mean that you have to groom Simeon in Lucifer's room, and he's not up for that. He's trying to avoid it and you can't understand why until Lucifer sighs and leaves the room, locking it behind him. Simeon then reluctantly let's you pull him to the bed and shows you his angelic form.

Once you start, he relaxes, sighing happily at the relief that comes from your mistrations and the perfect amount of pressure to soothe his wings. The brushes are a bit different than what he's used to and the oil you use smells muskies than he tends to prefer, but Simeon's not going to complain. He's very relaxed and making small happy noises until he notices Lucifer back in the room and goes tense, but your sudden tighter grip on his wing stops him from pulling them back into him.

Lucifer has to tell both of you he doesn't care about seeing Simeon's angelic form like he's so worried about, st which point you understand but then you're forcing him to calm down by undoing some of your hard work to scratch his wings.

By the time you're done, Simeon still looks a but guilty but is very grateful to the both of you. He's surprised when Lucifer offers his things and room again if he needs help, but gives a shy smile when you offer to help with the actual grooming and says he'll let you know next time he molts.

Luke

What?! You wanna help his groom his wings?!

Wh-wh-what?! But that so- but he's plenty capable of doing it himself so don't treat him like a kid!

You're not, you just want him to be comfortable! And it's easier with help, plus you like spending time with him.

Well, Luke guesses it's ok if that's the reason why.

You two settle on his bed and Luke let's his wings and halo show as you run your fingers through them, straightening feathers and pulling old loose ones out.

Luke absolutely melts at how good it feels and you two chat lazily as a baking show plays on the TV

Luke, after a while when you're almost done, is nodding off. It's been a while since anyone groomed him since he doesn't like being treated like a child (especially down here in the devildom) and usually Michael helps him.

You settle the sleeping Luke down and quietly clean up as he sleeps, but you stick around and watch over him while he sleep since he's just too cute.

Little D's

The babies need grooming too, and though they tend to help each other, they love you and love it when you offer to help them with it instead

As you groom one the others entertain you amd it's a grand old time!

Solomon

Can suck my [REDACTED]

Bro he don't need grooming!

But he'll try to get you to brush his hair and pamper him anyways!

If you like him - you might agree to it, so long as it's a mutual agreement and he'll help take care of you too.

If you do you'll find he's actually really good at braiding long hair/making short hair nice and neat and shiny.

If you don't, well you tell him to get Asmo to pamper him and watch him pout about it for a week.

Bonus Edition I Guess?

if you do this for a bunch of the boys/all of the boys, then 1, dont be surpirsed if they start bugging you for grooming more, and 2, better start charing for that shit cause it eats up your time.

and if you really wanna make good money, get the brothers or someone to just stick close and keep an eye on you and offer your services to other demons with their good reviews at your back.

Mephistophles is one of your first customers and it was Diavolo who forced him to chillax and go get groomed. however you feel about it, you're getting generously paid (and it doesn't hurt to be on the guy's good side), so he leaves loathe to admit that you are very good at it.

and if he thinks you're a decent person or whatever (i havent met the guy yet, gimme a break) you might find an endorsement in the school newspaper on how good you were.
