“Behlül, that loyal habitué of the Tepebaşı Theatre, [1] had a list of personal favourites — consisting of the merriest, most festive pieces — that he knew by heart. The 1975 adaptation replaced the above-mentioned operettas with the Ouverture of Die Fledermaus for Behlül to reminisce over which I think is fair because unlike the above pieces (except Gran Via) it is still very well-known and it is beautiful.

Also I like that Behlül’s name means “the one who laughs a lot” and he loves comic operettas. I just love this book okay?
