[fanfic] A New Dawning
Taichi wasn’t used to sleeping outside or traveling all day long. When he woke up, he was used to waking up inside of his pleasant bedroom, with guards in their usual places. He would eat with his parents and Hikari, meals that held the greatest and most variety of flavors.
Everything he had, everything he did, just seemed so soft compared to how he and the others lived now. He slept every night near Yamato, if not in his arms, and for every meal someone, usually Mimi, went out to gather whatever she could find for them to eat.
Which was often strange, because as a dryad, she could and did eat things that humans considered either moss or algae or whatever. She was getting better at finding what he, Takeru, Iori, and Hikari could eat safely, though.
Not all of the others needed to be as careful. Yamato was undead – something that he had to admit unnerved him if he thought about it too much – and only quietly slipped away to find what he needed when he had to. Sora was an angel of love, and Taichi had to admit he had no idea of what she needed to eat. He’d seen her eating a few normal fruit, but she’d also said she could go without if necessary.
Daisuke and Ken ate – things. Taichi refused to look too closely at what they ate. Ken was half-demon and could probably have eaten anything from nail shavings to dust and still gained nutrition out of it. Daisuke was a construct, a creature built of magic, and frequently shared Ken’s meals, no matter what they were. Both of them could eat almost anything, but he’d noticed that since this journey began, they shared whatever there was enough to share, with the four humans getting the first pick of it all.
What are Jou and Koushiro going to be like? He vaguely recalled having met Jou once or twice, back even before Yamato’s revelation as being a siren and subsequent – issues.
He didn’t really want to think of those issues being “sentenced to death for the crime of being a siren, throat being slit, and thrown out, only to be brought back as a vampire” and everything else that came from that. So he didn’t.
What he’d heard boiled down to the fact Jou was a vampire now as well, and Koushiro was a werecat.
And I’m going to be a werecat too. At least they hoped that he would be. He had to be something supernatural to avoid being affected by Yamato’s voice. If that didn’t happen, Yamato wasn’t ever going to talk around him again.
That wasn’t ever going to happen. He’d make Yamato bite him if he had to!
He knew he’d have a hard time convincing Yamato of that. So he didn’t worry himself about it right now and concentrated on gathering the wood for the evening fire. He had no idea of how far away they were from the kingdom, but they’d been traveling for weeks.
I should send Mother and Father a message. They’d want to know what he was doing. He’d probably be disowned and cut off from being heir. But he could manage that. Becoming a werecat probably wouldn’t help with that anyway.
So what else would he do with his life? He’d been raised and trained and taught everything he knew to be a prince and later king. Would Hikari return? She hadn’t had quite the same lessons, but it had been more or less assumed she’d enter into the priesthood and not have to worry about ruling.
His eyes flicked by the small white cat – or a not-cat – seated at Hikari’s side as she checked over Miyako. The phoenix – who went off to do her own hunting on a regular basis – had almost healed from the injuries she’d suffered during the battle against Vamdemon.
Even if she doesn’t rule, she might not join the priesthood regardless. Not when she had her very own guardian angel, and the potential to ally them with the phoenix clan.
That would all have to wait for later, though. First he would ensure that Yamato’s supernatural voice couldn’t affect him – at least not anymore than it normally did, since the blond had always had an amazing singing voice. Then he’d figure out what being a werecat meant and if it would cut him away from his realm forever.
His gaze shifted over the circle of people as he settled the pile of wood down and began to sort it properly. He’d barely known how to do this when their journey began. Just one of the many things he’d learned.
A vampire-siren. Four humans. A dryad. An angel. A construct. A prince of demons. A phoenix.
Two that he’d not yet met, but he had high hopes they’d become friends as well – another vampire and a werecat. Everything he’d heard said that they were decent people and that was what mattered, wasn’t it?
They were all his friends, and were going to be his friends if all worked out. If he couldn’t stay to be king, then they’d help him find someone who could. Ken surely knew people! If his parents didn’t trust a demon prince’s judgment, then wouldn’t that of a cupid or a phoenix be worthy?
They were his friends. He had problems and they would help him work through those problems.
I wonder if we can keep traveling after this. Maybe that was something he could do for his people, if not be king. He could be an ambassador, traveling all over the world, to all different types of realms. This could only be the beginning. They could make connections, forge alliances, and meet new people from one end of the world to the other.
His friends would help with that, too. He believed that down the core of his soul. A fresh start for all of them. He hoped it was an auspicious one.
The End
Notes: They have so much ahead of them. And one day I will write it. I hope.

To me, Digimon fanfiction is Home.
Don't forget to check out the #fanfic tag for @digiweek! :)
Writing fic is awesome. There can be moments of feeling stuck, and trying to figure out how this scene should go or how that part should be worded, but being able to write out my ideas for characters I love and then being able to read them later is so comforting!
You've seen me reblog my own works over the last 6 days, but for the final day of this event, and in honor of Odaiba Day, I wanted to celebrate the works of other fanfic writers. The fics I'm sharing are for Digimon Adventure, and these fics were previously included in my #NoctIsReading lists, meaning I've read them all and LOVED them!! Although, to stay in the spirit of Digiweek, I will be listing the fics that have a rating up to T (so, no M or NSFW here!).
The list is long, so to make it easy, I will include them under the cut. They will be divided into sections, with the first one as General (no ship focus) and the ones following alphabetically by ship name.
Here's what you can expect - each section & their fic counts:
General x 11
Jyoura x 2
Koumi x 5
Michi x 1
Sorato x 5
Taiora x 12 + Taiora Week 2020
Taiyama x 14
Takari x 2 + Takari Week 2020
I hope you find something that catches your eye, and I'd love for you to give these talented writers some love, especially if you end up enjoying their works, too!
Happy Reading, and Happy Odaiba Day!

For the handholding prompts! Taiora + 37? :3 Have a lovely day
Hello! Sorry for such a long wait, at first I was really confused by what I should write for Taiora with this prompt, and by the time I got around to outlining the scene, life happened 😔
But finally today I was able to sit down and get this out of my brain! This is set right after the battle with Ordinemon in Tri Part 6 and is mostly canon compliant. I hope you enjoy it, thank you for requesting 🧡
37. not realizing they’re holding hands till someone points it out
Taichi’s gut kept telling him that he was missing something, but he brushed it away. What could he be possibly missing when he was sitting with a wall of comfort surrounding him? That’s why even as the thought continued to gnaw at him, he refused to open his eyes and acknowledge the problem, it could be dealt with later, when his nap would be over and he would wake up feeling well rested and refreshed. For now he wanted to bask in the feeling of floating in sunshine, with every aching muscle in his body being cured of it’s pain, every tired fibre in his body being refuelled with energy. He wouldn’t dare open his eyes right now, not when he could hide under this umbrella of comfort for a little while longer, because who knew if it would still be there to shelter him from the stinging raindrops of reality when he woke, or if it would leave him drenched and broken, as it had once before.
NEXT STATION-
The words rang in his ears like a blaring alarm and suddenly Taichi was very much aware of where he was and what he was supposed to be doing. His eyes jolted open and he made to get up, when a familiar weight on his shoulder made him halt as realisation dawned fully upon him, of course the warmth had belonged to Sora who still slept quietly with her whole body leaning on him and her head resting on his shoulder, just like two puzzle pieces perfectly aligned.
The announcement echoed again throughout the train compartment and Taichi broke out of his daze, deciding that now was not the time to marvel over these little things, he quickly stood up. When he did so, Sora woke with a start, her eyes fluttering open in slow motion, but as they didn’t really have time for her to be fully awake, Taichi grabbed her hand in his and pulled her onto her feet, dragging her behind him as he rushed to get out of the train just as the doors slid shut.
He turned to face Sora and ask her if she was feeling okay but saw that her eyes were still drooping low and she held on to his grasp on her hand tightly for support as her feet wobbled out of balance. Taichi couldn’t really blame her, in fact he was relieved that he wasn’t the only one who felt like they had been made to run a marathon for 1000 years without a break. The visits to Digital World, the adventure and the battles had always been exhausting, but today their strength had been put to test in a way that none of them had ever expected to encounter, and the price of overcoming it all was pure exhaustion, both mentally and physically.
So Taichi kept quiet and gently pulled Sora along with himself across the mostly empty platform, glad that he had been the one to volunteer to take her home as he was so familiar with the route that he could probably reach there even with his eyes closed. He also didn’t mind the silence that had settled between them as they walked slowly but steadily, as Taichi wasn’t sure if he had anything left to say to anyone after the lengthy interrogation him and his friends had been subjected to by the authorities right after Ordinemon had been defeated, without so much as a moment spared for them to deal with the loss of their Digimon friend.
Even though Taichi’s session had lasted the longest as he was the only one to witness Nishijima’s demise he still felt that Sora had been subjected to a more difficult task, which was consoling not just Meiko, but also Hikari and Mimi as they had sat in the room waiting to be called in for questioning. As always, she had given every bit of her energy into taking care of others rather than herself, so Taichi attempted to make things easier for her the only way he knew how to, by keeping quiet and giving her the space to deal with everything at her own pace.
It was when they reached her home and rang the bell that Sora finally looked like she was awake, right on time Taichi thought, as at least he’d be able to tell her to take care of herself and have her actually retain those words in her head. So he turned slightly, hoping to bid her goodbye before her mother opened the door, but as tired as he was, he missed his chance to make a quick escape. The door swung open before he could open his mouth and a bright light was cast upon them and the dimly lit hallway.
Mrs. Takenouchi stood behind the door, looking like she had rushed to the door in a hurry that was uncommon for her, her face an odd mixture of relief and concern as she studied her daughter. Then her eyes travelled down and she raised them in mild surprise, another thing which was unusual for the stern Mrs. Takenouchi, so both Taichi and Sora followed her astonished gaze and experienced a rude awakening themselves as they saw that their hands were still tightly clasped around each other’s. They quickly pulled their hands away and shifted a few steps away from each other to put some distance between them.
Taichi was amazed by how despite of being so tired, his body could still find the energy to turn his face into a heated mess, and smoke coming out of his ears now wouldn't come as a shock to anyone.
“Good evening, Mrs. Takenouchi.” He mumbled awkwardly to fill the silence and draw attention away from the fact that he had been unknowingly holding onto Sora’s hand for who knows how long now. He could only hope that Sora too knew that it had been unintentional, and that he hadn’t meant to overstep his boundaries.
“Good evening, Taichi. I am relieved to see that you’re both okay, though you do look like you need a few days worth of rest.” She smiled softly at the two teens, turning to face her daughter with an affectionate gaze, she added, “Sora, welcome back.”
“I’m home.” Sora replied almost automatically, and satisfied with the response Mrs. Takenouchi passed a peculiar look to her daughter before she headed back inside, leaving the two of them alone to say their goodbyes.
Sora took this chance to move inside her house, now taking Mrs. Takenouchi’s place in the doorway, finally facing Taichi with her eyes wide open, though they were still filled with reflections of what had transpired in the past few days.
Taichi remembered that he had been meaning to tell her to take care of herself before her mother had arrived at the door, but when he looked at Sora now, with her figure illuminated by the white light coming from inside her house, her vermillion eyes shining with tears that were being kept at bay with every bit of remaining energy in her body, he lost the words he had so carefully selected a few moments ago. He wished instead that telling her how much he cared for her and her wellbeing could be as easy as taking her hand and pulling her to her feet. He knew he had to say something however, because not only had the silence between them become suddenly deafening, but also because he couldn’t possibly leave without a word of appreciation or gratefulness for all that she had done for Hikari and the rest of them today.
“Don’t forget to eat dinner,” He joked, hoping to lighten the mood enough to easily slip the words he wanted to say out of his mouth, but his half-grin seemed to light something in Sora as one lonely tear slipped down her cheek slowly despite her strained efforts to keep it from happening.
“Don’t ever disappear like that again, Taichi.” Her voice trembled as she spoke and Taichi felt a pang in his chest at her tone, “I don’t know what I would’ve done if you hadn’t come back. You can’t leave me behind just like that!”
“I’m sorry.” Taichi muttered quietly, that was all that he could manage to say out loud.
In reality he wanted to remind her that there were other people in her life who would easily be able to fill the gap he would leave, that it was not fair for her to stand there and tell him this, knowing well enough who he had meant to save in that moment. But he held his tongue, it had been a long few days for both of them and now was not the time to turn regrets of the past into bitter remarks that he may never be able to go back from.
“Please. Promise me, you will never do that again.” Her pleading voice was just above a whisper and it was a miracle that it even reached his ears.
“I will, if you promise something in return too.” Taichi replied in a determined tone, his hands balling up into fists on their own as he fixed her with an intense gaze. Sora looked at him with doubt at first, but eventually nodded at his words tiredly, “You have to promise to start putting yourself first from now on, no matter what.”
“That’s a difficult promise to make.”
“So is what you’re asking of me.” Taichi refused to back down.
“I’m asking you to take care of yourself, that isn’t too hard.”
“Likewise.”
And silence settled between them once again as Sora glared up at him and Taichi returned the favour with equal vigour. He had no idea how either of them still had the energy to keep this up, but even if it meant sacrificing being closer to his bed for a little while longer, he would gladly do so to get Sora to treat herself better. If he had learned anything from what they had all been through in the past few days, it was that change should always be embraced, for better or for worse. He didn’t know just how much Sora could change her ways or how it would affect her presence in all of the Digidestined’s lives, but he knew that if she didn’t start now then she wouldn’t start ever and he was tired of seeing her be the victim of her own labours of love.
“Okay.” She sighed in defeat, as her glare turned into an exhausted and disgruntled stare, “Okay, I promise to put myself first from now on, no matter what.”
“And I promise to take care of myself and not jump headfirst into danger without a second thought.” Taichi chimed after her, a smile spreading across his face as he realised that he’d actually gotten Sora to bend to his demands.
There was a first time for everything, he thought to himself, and secretly hoped that this wouldn’t be the last of it either.

Digimon Adventure: 2020 – Episode 33: The Hikari Of Dawn (Review)
Thoughts on the thirty-third episode of the Digimon Adventure reboot series.
I thought this was a pretty decent episode. Definitely not as good as last week’s, but better than the previous Taichi-centric episodes.
The episode opened well with the Vademon being creepy and cult-like. I prefer this method of informing the audience, versus Koushirou just spouting exposition out of nowhere.
Oh, I spoke too soon. Here Koushirou is again going off about his forever-in-the-background ISS plotline . . . XD;
LMAO at Jou and the conveniently placed Gomamon. XD; Gomomon: “They [the digimon] must really like you, Jou.” Jou: “What do they like?!” WE HAVE NO IDEA, JOU, YOU TELL US. I really liked Jou in his introduction episode, but ever since then, he’s grown into the most unlikeable cast member in the Adventure franchise . . .
The small snippets with the “other” kids are much too brief and really add nothing to the plot. This series really needs to get all the kids back together ASAP and let magic happen between them. I’m so tired of The Taichi Show feat. Bits of a Few Others.
LMAO Hikari did it again! Taichi: “Hikari!” Hikari: *Turns to look at him.* Taichi: “Hikari! I’m coming to save you right now!” Hikari: *Turns . . . away.* XD; Man, this girl. It makes me laugh too much for me to hate her for it, though, lol.
Hikari has never been more creepy and evil-looking than when her eyes are glinting blue while covered in that blue energy/power. XD;
The whole Millenniumon resurrection plot is cool and interesting. But it diminishes SkullKnightmon’s role in the series (where he has lasted “this long” over the other villains, and super evolves to DarkKnightmon). His whole purpose was to be a tool for Tailmon to play hide-and-seek in, so she and Hikari could be sacrificed to resurrect Millenniumon? OK, cool, I guess. It does feel very random, too. :P
How fucking creepy was Hikari when she was disappearing into the black hole/vortex? XD; What did she mouth to Taichi as she sunk back into the hole? “Bye, Bitch.”? XD;
Sora and Garudamon destroy SkullKnightmon’s “horse”, lol. That’s their level of epicness. Forever side-lined. :P
The whole sequence of Hikari finding Tailmon inside DarkKnightmon was cool . . . but super weird? Just the idea of it. Why was Tailmon locked inside of some random digimon? Because they were both “chosen” by Millenniumon to be sacrificed for his resurrection? That’s it. And it just seems so random. Could the writers not come up with something better? :P
Ghost!Tailmon looks creepy. Thus she makes the perfect partner for our creepy li’l Hikari-chan! :D
Oh look, the super uncommon, tiring, miraculous Mega evolution of WarGreymon is happening . . . again. :P Toei really should’ve just stuck to alternating the Mega evolutions for the kids here (a la their rushed Ultimate evolutions), instead of giving us WarGreymon three times within four episodes . . . it’s just so stale. Give me the other children and their Megas!
Hikari: “I’m sorry, but I believed in you [Taichi]. I knew you would definitely come!” That doesn’t excuse you just flat out ignoring him and turning your nose up at him though, lmao. Oh, Hikari. (I get it, though. I’m completely fine with her excuse. But I still think it’s hella funny. XD;)
The Vademon chanting reminds me of the aliens from Toy Story. XD;
Welcome to the team, Tailmon! Now can we please move the plot along and reunite all the kids already?! I have 33 episodes left of this show and I demand to see Yamato for all 33 remaining episodes. XD; Seriously, though, I really need all the kids together for as many episodes as possible. Please?
Taichi got a little bit more personality this episode, I guess, so that’s a plus. I guess. I still think he’s rather dull and generic. And the Yagami reunion paled so hard in comparison to the Takaishida reunion - I think because the latter siblings actually do have more interesting personalities than the former siblings . . .
So we are officially half-way through the entire series (if it really does have 66 episodes in total)! Wow. That’s scary. Yeah, I really don’t think this series can pick up in the last half of its run and become better than the OG - it’s just too late. XD;
But it can still become better than its own first half! It can! Please, Toei! REUNITE THE KIDS AND MAKE IT HAPPEN. :D

Brief thoughts on every Digimon Adventure 2020 episode
It’s been a while since I wrote a review for Adventure 2020, for lack of time or enthusiasm, so here I’ll go through every episode saying “I like it”, “I don’t like it” or “I’m ambivalent”, along with other brief thoughts.
Breaking it down in short “arcs”, my opinions are as follows:
Character Introductions (1-8): Liked 6, didn’t like 1, was ambivalent about 1.
Perfect evolutions and Nidhoggmon (9-18): Liked 6, didn’t like 3, was ambivalent about 1.
Takeru and Devimon (19-24): Liked 1, didn’t like 1, was ambivalent about 4.
Hikari and DarkKnightmon (25-33): Liked 1, didn’t like 5, was ambivalent about 3.
MoonMillenniummon arc? (34-36 as of now): Didn’t like 1 and was ambivalent about 2.
Overall: I liked 14 episodes, didn’t like 11 episodes and was ambivalent about 11 episodes. The vast, vast majority of the episodes I liked were before the second Omegamon appearence.
Pretty long list below the cut
Tokyo Digital Crisis: I like it. Established Taichi and Koushiro very well, had great fights and ended on a good cliffhanger.
War Game: I like it. Not as much as the first, but the fights were pretty good.
And to the Digital World: I like it. First half was just a remake of Our War Game, but second half was a great showcase of Taichi and Koushiro.
Birdramon Soars: I don’t like it. Sora’s lack of reaction is ridiculous, and the action is terrible.
Holy Digimon: I’m ambivalent. Backstory dump was okay, bond between Koushiro and Tentomon was good, the offscreen escape was ridiculous.
The Targeted Kingdom: I like it. Excelent introduction for Mimi, her personality, background and conflicts, characterization for the rest was great, the situation with the protection against the siege was handled great.
That Boy is Jou Kido: I like it. Not quite as good as Mimi’s episode, but good for basically the same reasons.
The Children’s Attack on the Fortress: I like it. It’s the start of the whole “barrage of attacks that hits nothing” trope for the show, but it’s fun, Yamato’s epiphany was surprisingly well handled.
The Perfect Attacks: I like it. It’s the start of “non-protagonists stand around and do nothing” for this show, but the whole deal with Ogremon and Greymon was great enough for me to not mind it.
The Super Evolution of Steel: I like it. I interpreted it as the synchronicity between Taichi and Agumon being the catalyst for the evolution, and that’s unique enough for the franchise that I enjoyed it. Still had tons of problems though.
The Wolf Standing atop the Desert: I don’t like it. It had Yamato go through the most annoying tropes usually associated with the lone wolf archetype, and the evolution cathalyst was remembering the far more impactful episode 8.
Lilimon Blooms: I like it. As others pointed out, it’s an episode long reference to Castle in the Sky, but I actually liked it better than that movie.
The Crimson Winged Garudamon: I don’t like it. Sora was upstaged by Yamato on her own episode, and Jou was just there to be humiliated.
The Kings of the Insects Clash: I’m ambivalent. There’s enough good stuff here to love it and enough bad stuff to hate it. Pity the lessons Koushiro learned here basically stayed here too.
Zudomon’s Iron Hammer of Lightning: I like it. Jou’s determination to not go back on his word and protect his friends by himself was great, as were his initial attempts at strategy both working and failing because of his lack of experience.
The Jet-Black Shadow Invades Tokyo: I like it. Liked the paranoia this evoked.
The Battle in Tokyo Against Orochimon: I like it. It’s the summation of everything that happened before in terms of every single character.
Countdown to Tokyo’s Annihilation: I don’t like it. It was terrible in terms of plot, character and action.
Roar, Juouken: I’m ambivalent. Tons of good stuff here, and all of it relies on incompetent villains and heroes forgetting their power-ups.
The Seventh One Awakens: I like it. Nay, I love it. Best episode in the series, maybe, the culmination of Yamato’s character up to that moment and the first appearence of the Holy Digimon justifying all the hype for them.
The Tide-turning Update: I’m ambivalent. Agumon and Taichi were good, as was the action, but Yamato doing a 180 on his attitude towards Takeru, and Takeru’s extremely convenient rescue of Eldoradimon, dragged this down.
The Unbeatable Blue Sagittarius: I’m ambivalent. Tons of good stuff, but the emotional core of it was Takeru, and he plain didn’t work here.
Meesenger of Darkness, Devimon: I don’t like it. Lame fight scene extended to full episode length.
The Final Stage, Done Devimon: I’m ambivalent. Flashy, but ultimately meaningless.
Dive to the Next Ocean: I don’t like it. Terrible in almost every regard, with the brief scenes of the B-Team being the highlights.
Break Through the Sea Monster Barricade: I don’t like it. The first scene was good and then it spends the episode reiterating its message.
To the New Continent: I don’t like it. Still repeating the same worldbuilding as the previous episode, though at least now everyone is here (for the last time so far).
The Children’s Fight for Survival: I’m ambivalent. Not a whole lot happens but it’s all directed spectacularly (as in, it’s pure spectacle, and I respect that craft).
Escape the Burning Jungle: I’m ambivalent. Some good moments here, but otherwise still reiterating the same “this is a world where the strong eat the weak” bit from 3 episodes ago.
The Ultimate, WarGreymon: I don’t like it. It’s a worse repeat of episode 10.
The New Darkness, Millenniummon: I don’t like it. Lopmon was cool, but everything else was dull.
Soaring Hope: I like it. It finally made Takeru work as a character, explained what Patamon’s deal was and gave us branching evolution lines.
Hikari of Dawn: I’m ambivalent. There’s some good stuff here, but it’s so underwhelming after so much build-up.
Hikari and Tailmon: I’m ambivalent. Fun set-up, but Hikari’s personality change was immersion breaking and I just couldn’t ignore that once again vastly powerful characters (not just the protagonists, but MarinAngemon and Daipenmon) did nothing just so Tailmon got a moment to shine.
The Glowing Angewomon: I’m ambivalent. It’s pretty terrible that the way they decided to make us care about Tailmon accross is via exposition dump of her emotions and issues, and once again her big conversation with Hikari mid-battle was more than a little ridiculous, but it was a compelling concept for their bond, so I’m willing to overlook it.
Operation Satellite Sniper: I don’t like it. It was going well enough (still with problems, but well enough) until the gratuitious BlitzGreymon evolution and not even Koushiro’s info-dump on his feelings (which will most likely be forgotten after this episode again) could fix it.

Digimon Adventure Episode 32
My little pony edition?  (spoilers I guess.)
-        Pretty short recap this time.
-        Has Patamon ever run before, as opposed to being carried or flying?
-        Patamon digivole toooo…fatigue mon
-        Good pup bodies naughty pup
-        Yamato being a good big bro?
-        Mimi has the best offscreen adventures
-        And Jou just Jous
-        Let’s trust Gomamon, not like Jou’s one of the important characters anyway.
-        Urgent alert, people are telling lies online.
-        Lopmon is a jedi
-        So Pata-Tail are the last real holy Digimon? Is that’s what’s happening?
-        Lopmon has shown at least as much power as Patamon, so what are the holy Digimon’s real strengths?
-        Learning to Digivolve is like learning to swim: sometimes your brother just throws you into the deep end and you either learn or you die.
-        That’s Cerberumon, he could be a threat, so long as we don’t bust out Wargreymon.
-        It’s a good thing Fangmon bit a flesh arm this time, less people will complain about greymon feeling pain.
-        Komondomon the real mvp
-        This would also be a good time for Wargreymon, guess Taichi is just not feeling brave enough
-        Oh so now explosions can hurt kids, but Taichi can ride a missile into a tree sixty feet of the ground and it does nothing.
-        Is the implication here, after nominally winning the ancient war, Seraphimon got captured, submerged in the miasma for eons, (the miasma that burned metalgreymon to the touch and was even able to weaken El Dradimon), and was able to endure it all based on the pure thought he might meet Takeru someday?  Talk about the embodiment of hope
-        Yes I noticed the slight shift to Shadowseraphimon before he rejected it and devolved.
-        This feels more impactful than the mega evolution
-        Also more courageous, Takeru is clearly scared, Sora tells him to run, Patamon can’t take on one Fangmon, let alone a pack and Cerberumon but they still press on.
-        Dang, they didn’t go patamon Soaring mode ☹
-        You may thing Pegasus mon looks bigger, but no, Reboot Takeru’s just that small.
-        Did Pegasmon deal with those fangmon easier than Garudamon-Metalgreymon?
-        Those aerial summersaults
-        “Aim for the mouth.” Works 100% of the time, 60% of the time.
-        How is Takeru not sick?  Stomach of cast iron that one.
-        Can’t even let Pegasmon beat the Monster of the week in his one debut /s
-        Komondomon has 8 legs, so I guess they are norse puppies.
-        “The Hikari of Dawn” is a terrible title, “The Light of Dawn” is only moderately better.

[fanfic]  Unholy Desires:  Chapter 5
Tailmon wasn’t sure of how long she’d spent watching the apartment and the little girl in it. She knew that she needed to go elsewhere – to track down the Eighth Child. Those were her orders and she never failed an order or a mission. At least she hadn’t in a very long time.
The scar under her glove didn’t itch anymore. But she remembered when it had, when it spent months in healing.
“A reminder to obey me, at any cost,” Vamdemon-sama told her those many years earlier. It wasn’t the only one she had. What the gloves didn’t conceal her fur did. And when the scars weren’t seared into her flesh, they were seared into her heart.
She would have to do something soon. Either start searching again or leave her – leave here – to find a place to grab a little rest. Vamdemon-sama surely wouldn’t begrudge her a short catnap – except he probably would, unless she managed to get some results to bring him before that.
Tailmon cast another glance towards where Yagami Hikari played with her beloved cat. She told herself she wasn’t envious. She knew she was lying. It didn’t matter in the long run. If this girl was the Eighth Child,, then she wouldn’t be around much longer. And if she wasn’t – she probably wouldn’t be anyway, because Vamdemon-sama would kill them all eventually.
Before she could go much farther on that train of thought, she spied something moving through the air towards the apartment. At first she wasn’t sure what it was – only that it was reasonably large. Then she refocused and her eyes widened.
The Chosen? What are they doing here like that? And – with Wizarmon?
She wanted to head back to Vamdemon but before she could move far enough, Wizarmon turned towards her. He knew she was there; he’d been by earlier that night. And now he gestured towards her.
“What do you want, Wizarmon?” Tailmon flexed her claws. “And why are you associating with the Chosen Children?” Was this treachery? Did he intend to betray Vamdemon-sama?
Wizarmon floated closer to her. “I will explain it all to you. But please, come here.” He hovered in place and she tensed even more. If he wasn’t betraying them, then what was he doing? Was he leading them into a trap, or trying to?
She didn’t expect him to start talking about their first meeting or to stir up the memories she’d long since put to rest, about how she’d sought all of her life for someone, and never known who it might be. Until she found Vamdemon – or he found her – and he began to train her into being the perfect servant he wanted.
“What does any of that matter now?” Tailmon wanted to know. “What do you know that you’re not telling me, Wizarmon?”
“That I think I know who you’ve been searching for. You don’t want to obey Vamdemon – no more than I do. I’ve followed you, not him, all this time.” Wizarmon looked from her back to the Chosen on the balcony. She followed his gaze, realizing now that one of them, the one she thought was Hikari’s big brother, lay sound asleep, his partner hovering over him.
The small blond one held an egg tightly, while his own partner, evolved to Angemon, stayed at his side. And – wasn’t one of them missing?
Her eyes drifted over to Hikari again. Deep inside, Tailmon knew that she didn’t want to hurt the girl. Just the thought of Vamdemon getting anywhere near her made the fur on Tailmon’s back spike up and she wanted to lash out in the girl’s defense.
Oh. She wanted to protect her. She wanted to keep her safe.
She wanted to be her partner.
“Wizarmon,” Tailmon all but whispered his nae. He guided her over to Hikari, setting the Digivice in her paw – where had he got that from? It didn’t matter. All of her training told her that she needed to get away, back to Vamdemon-sama, telling him what happened, that she knew who the Eighth Child was.
All of her heart told her what to do and she followed it, unable and unwilling to deny her destiny when it stood in front of her.
“Hikari?” This time she murmured the name. Hikari had stood beside her sleeping brother, worry and fear in her eyes. Now she turned towards Tailmon, and warmth blossomed within.
“Tailmon?”
Tailmon held the Digivice out, and Hikari reached for it, their movements guided by something far deeper and far stronger than themselves. As Hikari’s fingers brushed across it, it lit up brilliantly, and the Chosen stared in awe.
“You are the Eighth Child,” one of the girls said. She glanced back down at the sleeping brunet. “Taichi’s going to love this.” She shook her head then adjusted the blue hat on her head. “So now what do we do?”
“Now we need to go find the Crest and Tag. Vamdemon has them.” Wizarmon pulled the one he’d been given out. “These are only fakes, though they are capable of reacting to identify Hikari. Do not trust anyone who has one of these that isn’t me or Tailmon.”
Hikari wrapped her mams around Tailmon – perhaps she’d already done so and Tailmon just hadn’t noticed until now – and looked at Wizarmon. “Can you help my brother?”
“All that can be done for him is wait until sunrise. If that’s when he was told to awaken, he won’t wake up any sooner. Vamdemon’s powers over those he’s feasted on are great, and I doubt that his spawn would be any different. But he should be fine when he does wake up.”
Tailmon wasn’t certain if she’d heard what she thought she did. “His spawn? He did something to the Child of Courage?” She could recognize them all now that they were close enough. She hadn’t spent as much time trying to get rid of them as PicoDevimon had but she could at least identify them.
“Yes and no. He turned the Child of Friendship – Ishida Yamato – into his vampire slave. And Ishida Yamato bit him,” Wizarmon said, gesturing towards the sleeping brunet. “I’ll explain more on the way. We have to get the Crest and Tag before Vamdemon returns to his lair.”
The redheaded Child of Knowledge shifted forward. “And what are we supposed to do?”
“Don’t follow us. You need to stay safe from Vamdemon until we can retrieve the Crest and Tag.” Wizarmon turned towards Tailmon. “And one of you should keep that Digivice until we come back with that. Be careful.”
Tailmon nodded, giving Hikari another hug. “I’ll come back soon. You watch over your brother. That would keep her safe – that was what Tailmon wanted and there wasn’t any way she was going to let Hikari follow her into the depths of Vamdemon’s lair.
Wizarmon helped her into the skies; she didn’t possess the power of flight, but he formed another of those enchanted spheres around her and the two of them set out for the lair. Part of Tailmon suspected if the brunet had been awake, then he would have followed them. He seemed like that sort of person.
But now she kept her focus on all the changes that had unfolded in the span of minutes and on what was going to happen. If things worked out even slightly close to good, then before dawn came they would at least have the tools to defeat Vamdemon. He couldn’t move around in the sunlight, so once the sun rose, they could bring the Chosen here and destroy him when he wasn’t able to resist as much.
“Wizarmon,” she said quietly as they crossed over the city. “What happened to the Child of Friendship?”
“Just what I said. I heard it from PicoDevimon, so I can’t say how accurate it is, but it’s obvious that Taichi was bitten by someone. Vamdemon would have turned him, but since he’s not, it had to be someone else.” He hesitated before he kept on. “His new spawn is a Healer – and I think ” Again, hesitation. Then Wizarmon continued. “I think he’s Piemon’s offspring.”
Tailmon was already a white cat Digimon, but now she knew that she paled even more. Her paws flexed. It had been some time since she’d last seen Piemon, but she remembered him vividly from when Vamdemon had her escort him on visits to the clown monarch.
“Does he know?” Then she recalled – times when Vamdemon stared a bit too intently at some of the Chosen. Old stories that she’d heard, about how humans and Digimon could do a thing and that meant the resulting entities were some sort of odd hybrid or half-breed or crossbreed or something. “Do any of them know?”
Vamdemon had watched the oldest one, the one with the blue hair, more than the others. She'd noticed one or two things off about him as well. Very subtle, perhaps not for human eyes to see, but no Digimon looked with human eyes. Before, when she’d had no humans to compare to, she hadn’t known what off could be. Now that she’d seen so many more, it began to slowly slot into place.
“In a way I believe that he does now. Or so I was told – it appears that he now refers to himself as Anbumon. What else he knows I can’t say. We’ll need to get him out from under Vamdemon’s control before we can find out anything.” Wizarmon floated along in silence for a little longer. “And we should tell the others once we have the time. They shouldn’t find out by Vamdemon telling them. Or worse, by Piemon telling them.”
Tailmon wasn’t going to utter a word against that. But she put that in the back of her mind for the moment as they approached the lair. One of Vamdemon’s Bakemon guards floated back and forth on march, but Wizarmon took care of him quickly enough with a claim that they were the next shift. With the key handed over into their grasp and Bakemon heading off for a good morning nap, the two of them approached the door cautiously.
“He’s either keeping it in his coffin or on himself,” Wizarmon said as they headed down the slick gray stone steps. Faint echoes of their footfalls came back to them, sending chills all up through Tailmon. She’d never noticed how empty and terrifying this place was before. Maybe it had something to do with not really belonging here now. As if she ever had.
“If it’s on him, then what do we do?” Tailmon wondered. That would be the worst case scenario. Worst case tended to happen a lot around Vamdemon.
“Then we do what we can to get it off of him as soon as possible. He’s gong to know that we did this.” Wizarmon approached the door and unlocked it, the two of them entering in carefully. There rested Vamdemon’s coffin, currently empty.
I wonder if he plans on making another one for his spawn? Tailmon knew that he didn’t sleep in this when they’d been at home. The sun didn’t cast its lights on his castle there. Vamdemon chose its placing for the fact those mountains remained dark at least the bulk of the day. He’d been safe no matter what. Here he had to remain out of sight of the sun. Would his spawn be the same way?
Wizarmon dug underneath the pillow and pulled out the Tag and Crest. Just the sight of it thrilled Tailmon and she couldn’t wait to get back to Hikari with this.
“Well now, what is this?” A voice she knew far too well – Vamdemon – spoke and she took a step back, turning towards the door. There stood Vamdemon himself, tall and imposing and filling every scrap of the door.
Perhaps even more terrifying was who stood slightly in front and to the side of him. She hadn’t even heard him approaching. He didn’t look quite as he had before – his hair now streaked with the telltale marks of a corrupted Healer and the smile his lips twisted into displaying a pair of fangs as sharp as Vamdemon’s. In his eyes there wasn’t a hint of mercy or compassion.
“I think we have a pair of traitors, Vamdemon-sama,” Anbumon said, his voice as cruel as that of his sire and his progenitor. “Do let me taste them.”
To Be Continued
Notes: I have to work through the important canon things before I get to the fun non-canon things like Anbumon and Taichi making out. Or whatever they’re going to end up doing. Vamdemon sadly won’t politely poof into dust to facilitate the shippy things. Darn vampire.

But before she could cut off anything else an artist by the name of Leo decided to stop her and drags her away before anything got out of hand. Thanks to her meeting him she was a given a chance to test her skills.
Also read this story as a manga and the main character never ceases to amaze me. Every wall she hits makes her even more stubborn to break it down. The graphics are also pretty and can’t wait to see how far they will go.
Became the Villain of an Otome Game in My Next Life! Must Avoid All Red Flags!
Tumblr media
Adapted from a light novel into a manga and now the first “I died and became a video game character” anime.
The story starts off with our main character Katarina Claes and how she gets hit pretty hard to the head only to remember that she was reincarnated into the body of a villainess of her favorite otome game.
After the realization, she starts writing down all the roads and red flags that lead to her characters doom. Lets hope she can stay out of trouble by the time the storyline ends.
Ascension of a Bookworm Season 2
Tumblr media
The second season is here and the first episode already has us at the edge of our seat.
As they give us a rerun about what happened in last season to the problems she has already begun to face. As she finally dawns the blue robes of a clergyman at her local shrine, her grey robed attendants already started to disobey her.
Will she be able to keep them in line or are problems just getting started?
