This is a gift for my bf. He loves the Dinomist deck and asked if I could design a Dino just for him and here it is. I had a lot of fun with this. I’m not used to using green as a main base color (the blue green Dino) so this one was fun to play around with.

I made a Red Eyes deck for the upcoming Extra Zero event on Master Duel. Just sharing for the hell of it and because this will be the first MD event I'll be participating in.

Man the Dinomist archetype in Yugioh is fun. It’s a lot of pendulum monsters that follow the pattern of either being level 4 or 5, with all monsters having either 4 or 5 scales.

I wish it got more love. It’s not really a powerful archetype but i could see it being a fun lower power deck if it got a proper extra deck end game.

Spinos and Tyranno are not really BAD they’re honestly p good archetypally -I think Spinos is better imo but both work-, however I always disliked if you want to do extra deck plays you don’t have any real options that aren’t just going into whatever link or Xyz monster the meta is playing atm.

for some reason, duel links auto-duel seems to have a lot more success with Pendulum-based decks

do you play dino archetypes or just dino tribal?

mostly dino tribal! the current dino archetypes in MD (jurrac, dinowrestlers, evol) aren't. GREAT. i've made a bunch of their cards and tried playing jurrac but that turned out Really Poorly because jurrac is pretty bad

haven't tried dinowrestlers yet but i intend to! and evol was actually the first proper archetype i started playing, it's still PRETTY bad but i have a soft spot for it. like for the love of god look at westlo

i'll definitely try dinomorphia when they drop too! unfortunately not that interested in dinomist... can't think of any more dino archetypes off the top of my head. dino tribal is the strongest i've played so far and i love that deck so it's what i usually keep to. scrap dino isn't much of an archetype but i have nearly all the cards for it, scrap raptor is that good

outside of dino i HAVE been learning d/d/d and it's so much fun! there's myutants and dragonmaids i haven't touched in a while, cydragon and pk which i am Also learning

So though Pendulum Witch's Pendulum Effect is designed to work for Odd-Eyes variants, it is also likely intended for the likely Igknight/Dinomist support, possibly alongside Main Deck Pendulums for Plunder Patrolls.

We will see if other ARC-V era themes get Extra Deck and/or Pendulum support. On top of my head, True King/Dracos come to mind, besides LDS trio's cards, but we'll see how the upcoming sets work with them.

Case Tournament

I went to a Photon Hypernova case tournament today and played Kashtira. The deck wasn’t finished and I’ll post pictures of my list later but here’s how it went:

Round 1: vs Tenyi Swordsoul

I lost 0-2. Game 1 my opponent outed my board and OTK’d me on their first turn. Game 2 I went first and bricked, unfortunately they did not so they took the match.

Round 2: vs Dinomist

I won 2-0. My opponent wasn’t using an Extra Deck so they could play around Mind Hacker but all I had to do both games was make a half decent board and I won.

Round 3: vs Floowandereeze

I won 2-0. Game 1 I honestly couldn’t tell what they were playing because they bricked so I just made my usual board and swung in for game. Game 2 I sniped their only extender with Lightforce Sword and they proceeded to concede the match.

Round 4: vs Adventure Plunder Patroll

I lost 1-2. This was my only match all day that went to Game 3 and honestly was almost decided by time rules. Game 1 we had a decent back and forth but ultimately they cleared my board and swung in for game. Game 2 I Nibiru’d during their first time and along with Mind Hacker was able to take Game 2. Game 3 was a back and forth power struggle but they Book of Moon’d my Shangri-Ira and it was over after that.

Round 5: vs Bystial Spright

I lost 0-2. I opened suboptimal going first Game 1 and got cheesed by Shadow Masquito. Game 2 i bricked and still got cheesed by Shadow Masquito.

Overall: 2-3-0

It was a fun event and the first time I’ve finished an event in a long time. Normally I drop when I know I can’t make top cut, but I decided today since it was only 5 Rounds that I would play it out no matter what. I was surprised with how well the deck performed even though it wasn’t finished. I look forward to finishing my deck and I can’t wait for the next event.

God that dinomist 4 star loaner duel is the worst. The AI can easily pendulum summon or bring out as many monsters as possible and combo in one turn. Meanwhile on my turn no matter what I open with I can't do anything I can make a pendulum scale but can't summon or I make one and can summon 1 monster but I can't summon anything to do any actual damage. This might be the first gate to make me feel absolutely hopeless. Like I know the loaner duels are all about just getting lucky but for this one it feels like I'm never going to get lucky and beat it. At this point I'm going to max out on gems before I finish that gate.
