So a new species of dinosaur was just discovered and uh……. They named it Gremlin. Gremlin slobodorum…….

So Gremilin slobodorum is a species of leptoceratopsid ceratopsian dinosaur that lived during the Campanian stage of the Cretaceous period around 77 million years ago. Its fragmentary remains were first found in the Oldman Formation in Alberta, Canada and were originally thought to have belonged to a different genus of small ceratopsian called Cerasinops since their remains have been found in rock layers around that same age.

However, it was just recently discovered to be a completely new genus and so it was given the name: Gremlin slobodorum. The genus name “Gremlin” obviously refers to the mischievous mythical creature while the species name “slobodorum” is in honor of Ed and Wendy Sloboda who were both involved in the discovery of the holotype specimen.

If I’m being honest I don’t really like the genus name of this dinosaur. Like I’m all for extinct creatures having names inspired by mythology but just calling it Gremlin feels lazy in my opinion. Like it does look like a Gremlin but maybe Gremlinsaurus or Gremlinceratops would’ve been better names. But despite its uncreative (in my opinion) name I still think it’s a pretty cool dinosaur and can’t wait for more paleo art of this guy to start popping up. Also, no hate to the people who named this genus or if you like the name. I just wish it wasn’t just called Gremlin. Who knows maybe the name will grow on me.

After Remember Me, I thought I'd be done with Ultimate Troop, but once I found out that Tonnam was directing Dinosaur Love, I was easily persuaded to give it a go, and now the visuals are speaking to me, so I gotta post about it!

This man in his "Hedgehogs. Why don't they just share the hedge? 'NO'" shirt with the bee cap is me. I feel seen.

I love that the opening credits established three times that Tonnam is the director with Yang, who was the assistant director for Step by Step, Bed Friend, and Future. But why is there so much "FRAGILE" tape on that air unit?!

We have Park and Sam. I have more faith in it now!

So if this show does well, will we get the other stories like "Sharks Don't Eat Meat"?

Unlike what the shirt has led us to believe, this moment is not "Good Times"

The fact that this place is called JOINT and actually has a sign that reads "Of course i know how to a roll a joint" is delightful.

Dino's shirt has a lot of text, but the most important is the "I have never learnt from anyone" portion with the smiley face poster right behind him while his friend dances around in his Joy Division shirt ("LOVE, LOVE WILL TEAR US APART AGAIN!" <- my emo heart as soon as I saw it).

There's a pack of them, living in the tunnels outside of town. Two big ones, and maybe a litter. No one knows what they are, or how the hell they got here. All I know, is that if you hear birds laughing in the shadows, it's too late...they've found you.

I was inspired by a recent dinosaur horror thread on Twitter.

All the noises, screeches, clicks, etc. are made by my voice. The only edits I did was adding the echo/ambience sound to the background and cleaning up the audio.
