King Magnifico being a pleasure top
Tumblr media
Magnifico loves to make you come, but it's not purely for your own pleasure,it's also to feed his own ego. If you thought a man like him wouldn't take this chance to gloat you'd be dead wrong. He smirks every time he feels you clench around his cock, it only makes him thrust in and out faster, wanting to give you your next orgasm before the first one finished.
If you're overstimulated by him he will give you a bit of time to recover but it doesn't mean that Magnifico will stop talking about how many times you've came. Hearing him talking about it makes it imossible for you to calm down. As soon as you begin to roll your hips back against his you hear him chuckle against your ear and slide back in.
There's no better sound, no better sight for him then seeing your eyes roll back into your head and his name leaving your lips in moans. Magnifico follows you every time, growling into your ear, pinning you down completely and filling you up, not letting a drop of cum slip out. He will fuck it back inside of you until there's no more room in your pussy.

It's Nice - Floyd
Author Notes: So. Just like with all Floyd fics this one has featured copious editing and has been trapped within my Google docs for quite some time as it underwent that lengthy process. But here it is. A premarital hand holding fic for Floyd. This fic was edited while I was listening to "They Don't Know" by Tracey Ullman which I can almost promise you influenced how this fic turned out. As per usual, Reader is gender-neutral. I hope you enjoy!
Type: Gender-neutral reader/ fluff/ pre-marital hand holding/ romance implied/ sfw
Word count: 1365
Tumblr media
I sat silently next to Floyd, watching as the unpredictable young man toyed with my hand and fingers.
Simply put, it was an odd way to pass time, but, according to Floyd, my hands were interesting.
And evidently enough, he did find them interesting. After all, the infamously mercurial merman was just sitting next to me, leaned over so that he was largely lying on the table in front of us as he reached over and toyed with my fingers. Apparently perfectly satisfied as he fiddled with them while simultaneously being beyond careful with them. Almost like he thought they were fragile or something.
It was almost enough to make me forget exactly why all of my classmates found Floyd to be a fearful entity.
My gaze slowly shifted to our hands as I pondered what exactly made my hands so uniquely interesting to him, and then the young man in question let out a giggle.
I frowned slightly, glancing his way questioningly as he sat up with a smile on his face as his eyes stayed on our hands.
I didn’t get to actually ask him anything though, since he opted to explain without any prompting, “Your hands are so teeny~ How do you get anything done?”
His two-toned gaze found mine as he teasingly questioned me, and I frowned at his words. Slipping one hand out of his grasp, I held it up to better inspect it for myself.
Sunlight streamed through my spread fingers, but, for all my careful looking, I could not find anything unique, interesting, or particularly small about my hands.
In fact, it just looked like a hand. Plain and simple. Nothing special or unique about it at all.
“Are they really that small?” My response came out as more of a murmur than anything, but Floyd still managed to hear it.
“Sure they are! Look,” As he spoke, one of his own hands wrapped around my wrist as he pulled my arm, and me with it, over so that he could flatten his left hand against my right one.
He leaned around our hands, which were now pressed palm-to palm, to look at me with a wide grin, “See?”
His eyes were glimmering at me as I focused on our hands and found that, sure enough, his hand was far larger than mine, with the tips of his long fingers clearly visible over the top of mine.
“Well, I guess in comparison…” I trailed off as I noticed Floyd’s expression shifting from playful to curious as he looked down at our hands and sat back so that he was now sitting directly in front of me.
Slowly, and almost carefully, his hand shifted until his fingers slipped in between mine and folded down over my hand.
He looked utterly fascinated as he carefully held my hand in his with his fingers slipped through the gaps between mine.
And, largely by instinct, I mirrored his motions. But instead of staring out our mismatched hands, I was watching him as I interlocked our hands and caused his eyes to go wide.
It was one of those moments where Floyd looked anything but scary. In fact, he stared at our interlaced fingers with an almost childlike innocence that confused me.
What was so special about holding hands?
He’d tugged me along after him, all but squeezing the life out of my hand along the way, so why…?
I stilled, with my questioning thoughts grinding to a halt, as I realized, with no small amount of surprise, that Floyd had never held my hand like this.
Instead of lacing our fingers together as they were now, he’d always simply wrapped his hand around mine. Enveloping it in his larger hand as if he were trying to completely hide it from view.
Perhaps it was to ensure he had a better hold on me, but then I’d always found that I had a better grip if I had laced my fingers through another person’s and locked our hands together in that fashion.
It was a wild shot in the dark, but I found myself eyeing the young man closely as I slowly began to question him, “Floyd, have you never….?”
I trailed off, not entirely sure how to finish my question. But Floyd evidently understood what I was asking since he nodded and responded fairly easily.
“In my mer-form, I’ve got finger webbing, so…” He trailed off, opting to continue to gaze at our hands before giving my hand a tentative little squeeze that had me wondering if this really was the same young man who usually gave out bone-crushing hugs and had what might be the most merciless grip I’d ever experienced.
Though, to be fair, whenever I received one of his squeezes, it was what he referred to as a ‘tiny squeeze’ and was more of a hug than the vice-like hold that he usually dubbed squeezes.
But instead of commenting on his typically crushing grip, I tentatively finished his sentence for him, “So you’ve never held hands like this?”
He nodded, his eyes still on our interlocked hands, with his dwarfing mine as he continued to hold my hand with a surprising amount of gentleness. Almost like he was afraid I would break or slip right from his grasp if he did anything else.
I frowned slightly as I watched him in silence, but it was a strange thought, because I didn’t think I’d ever outright run from him since our early meetings, when he’d been chasing me and making life generally difficult on Azul’s orders.
Since then, I’d gotten so that I was much closer to him and the other two young men of the Octavinelle dorm that had been involved at that time. Now I only ran from him in a more playful manner, though sometimes I was genuinely trying to get away from him; it was never out of fear.
But perhaps a stranger thought was the one of how he’d never held hands like this. Though it made sense in regards to the webbing he had in his merform, it was still strange to think that he’d never done so while on land.
He’d been here for a fair bit of time, after all. He was a second year here at Night Raven College already, and Azul had said they’d gone to some sort of boot camp when they’d come on land, so he’d had plenty of time to hold hands.
But perhaps the opportunity had never arisen. Either way, the novelty of holding hands like this did explain his quietness.
After just a few more moments of silence, his gaze lifted so that he was looking at me once more. An almost embarrassed smile crossed his face as he spoke once more, “It’s nice. Holding hands.”
He held up our interlocked hands as if to show me how nice it was, and I smiled at how our palms seemed to fit together like two puzzle pieces.
His hand was larger, but mine still fit perfectly in his palm, and our fingers interlaced like they’d found the perfect place to rest. Almost like it was meant to be.
It was almost laughable, in moments like this, to think that so many of the other students here at NRC thought I was insane to spend time with Floyd. But then, I supposed most people didn’t see this side of him.
And, with an odd degree of surprise, I realized that he was right. This was nice, holding his hand like this.
Floyd was always a mercurial person, and somehow that made quiet moments like this all the more special.
By no means did I have a problem with his playful nature, and I could understand his mood swings. I had bad days myself.
But when compared to the usually busy days of time here at school with him and all of my other friends, moments like this seemed oddly precious.
And perhaps that was why my smile spread the way it did, and I gave his palm a tiny squeeze and received a very careful one in return as soon as I softly responded, “Yeah… It is.”

“Can I sleep in your bed tonight?”
Beast squirmed. “I don’t know, Belle…”
“Please? I really liked having you with me in my bed, but your bed is bigger.”
He had liked being in her bed too, but that was the problem—he liked it too much. It had been so hard to pull away from her soft body and warm mouth that morning. But it was so hard to say no to her, too.
“Alright.”
Her face lit up with delight, and she linked her arm with his. “Let’s go!”
Beast felt a nervous anticipation fluttering in his stomach as soon as they walked into his room. She’d been in here before, but never with the intention to share his bed. They walked toward it together, and Beast swallowed thickly. The bed had been magically repaired and beautified when the curse broke, but was still enormous and solid enough for a huge beast like him. He knew for a fact it could stand up to the force of his frenzied rutting, in those times when his animal lust drove him over the edge. But there would be no rutting tonight, he firmly reminded his already betraying body. Just sleeping.
As soon as they stopped by the bed, Belle started unlacing her dress, and Beast’s eyes widened. “What are you doing?”
“Getting undressed for bed. Don’t tell me you normally sleep in all your clothes.”
Normally he slept naked, but there was no way he’d be able to make it through the night in a bed with Belle if he wasn’t wearing pants. He doubted he’d get much sleep tonight as it was.
But sleeping fully dressed like he had last night was dreadfully uncomfortable. So he pulled his shirt off and left it at that. Belle had seen him like this before. This would be safe enough.
He climbed into bed and stared hard at the ceiling while his blasted beast ears picked up every hushed sound of fabric sliding over soft skin and dropping to the floor as Belle finished getting undressed.
The previous night she had been sleepy, but tonight she seemed not to be, running her hands into his mane and kissing him eagerly as soon as she was beside him. He grunted and curled a paw around her waist, holding her close as his tongue explored her mouth.
The rich scent of her arousal bloomed out from her, making Beast feel almost giddy with want. He pulled his mouth from hers to bump his snout into the crook of her neck, where her scent was even stronger. His nostrils flared as he breathed it in, filling his greedy lungs with her desire. He swept his tongue over her throat, needing to taste more of her, and she moaned and rocked closer to him.

This gorgeous artwork by @rain1940 was commissioned by my friend @thefamilybruno to go along with my Beauty and the Beast fanfic Transformation. In chapter 8, things start getting spicy as Beast and Belle finally start sharing a bed, though they won't end up as they are in this artwork for a wee bit longer yet...

Warren Peace x Reader: Good Book
Word Count: 355 Warnings/Notes: Established relationship, no kissing just hand holding, and a slightly oblivious Reader but all because they are reading. Summary: Reader sits down outside to read a book and Warren eventually finds them. Will the Reader notice he is there, or be too involved with their book to realize Warren’s sitting next to them??
~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~
A break. Escapism, even. It was exactly what you needed. Being a student at Sky High was a little different than an ordinary school. But no less stressful, you were sure. With a book in hand, you found yourself in one of Warren’s favorite places to read. Anywhere quiet, to be honest. Or, where one could more easily drown out the usual chatter of the other students. It was why you found yourself at the front steps of the school. And as you began to read where you had last left off, the world around you seemed to fade away.
Warren recognized you as soon as he stepped foot out of the building. No one was even remotely near you, as if some unseen bubble surrounded you in your content state. When he drew closer, he saw that you were indeed reading a book. Not a textbook this time. Sitting down to join you, he soon realized that you were so involved with the story, that you had not noticed him yet. He could only hope that when you did come to your senses, that he would not accidentally spook you. He placed his backpack on the space beside him and took out a book of his own. Flipping to the bookmarked spot, his thumb expertly held the pages in place. With his right hand, he reached out for your own. Weaving his fingers with yours, he rested his arm along your thigh. A quiet laugh tried to break through the smile on Warren’s face. Still, you had not looked away from your book. Lightly, he bumped his shoulder to yours. Leaning closer, he spoke softly. “Hey.” You blinked in recognition, returning mentally to the reality around you. More so from the gentle squeeze to your hand. “Oh, hi,” you smiled at Warren. “Sorry about that.” “Good book?” He asked, brown eyes appearing to sparkle. “Yeah.” “I thought you’d enjoy it.” “Thanks again for letting me borrow it.” Warren smiled adoringly and it made you glad that you were already sitting down. “Anytime,” he said, thumb rubbing small circles over the back of your hand.
“Did You Miss Me” Jim Hawkins x Reader
(A/N: Requested by @ivorydragoness44 an insert reader inspired by the song “Drops of Jupiter”. I hope it’s all right. Warnings: none Word Count: 294 words)
~~~
Emotions affected everyone. Jim Hawkins was no different.
You, his best friend, had finally returned home. Your feet hadn’t touched down on the soil since before even Jim had left.
You were still recognizable. Yet your appearance was slightly altered, a sign of someone who had been away from home for some time. An awareness in your eyes.
Your greeting upon seeing Jim brightened your features even if your walk to him was slow.
Time had definitely gone by.
Jim had wasted no time in answering all your questions and filling you in on how he found Treasure Planet and went to an academy.
The focus you had was well improved and your words were warm — confident.
Two of you catching up filled the Inn with wondrous stories.
“Now,” Jim settled back in his seat, “Did you see the places from your list?”
“I did. And more.”
His smile hid his secret fear. The youth was afraid that upon your return, you thought of him as a plain young man who would fear leaving the planet.
He shrugged it off with another question.
“Did you have fun traveling across the stars? Were they more than you imagined they’d be?”
“It was unbelievable! I never thought I’d see them so close.” You answered with memories no doubt in your mind.
A tug pulled in Jim’s emotions. A question underneath his fear.
Yet he did not ask.
Jim asked if you thought of your favorite meal and those times he stuck up for you. He questioned if you remembered your first dance, hours-long conversation, best drink, and himself.
You tilted your head at his words.
“Of course I remembered you, Jim.”
He breathed in and finally asked, “Are you lonely looking for yourself out there?”

Accidents happen.
Summary: Sofia accidentally breaks something in Cedric's workshop.
C*dfia shippers DNI.
Wordcount: 956
Sofia thought, staring at the broken glass on the floor and the green liquid spilt everywhere.
-
Oh no, oh no, oh no!
“Remind me, princess, I did bring some mugwort back from our last visit to the village?”
Sofia nodded, her eyes still on the green liquid. What if it took him ages to make and she just spilt it all over the floor? “Umm, yeah, I think so!” she put on the best voice she could. The last time she’d ruined something important in Roland’s office he was very upset, she didn’t want to upset Mr Cedric. He worked so hard on his potions. She stepped away as the green potion spilt closer towards her feet, she always knew his workshop was slanted!
“Are you alright, princess?”
Sofia braced herself as Cedric spun around on his stool. “I’m really sorry, Mr-”
“Sofia! Get away from that!”
Cedric rushed over to her, whisking her away from the magical goo. Paying no mind to the broken beaker, he grabbed her hands, checking over her. “It didn’t get on you, did it?”
“O-Only a little bit, I’ll clean it up!”
Sofia heard Cedric mumble some adult words before he knelt down to the broken glass, carefully picking up a shard with a label on it. He took a breath of relief, holding his hand to his chest. “Athena’s arena…”
“I’m so sorry, Mr Cedric, it wasn’t important was it?”
Cedric turned his attention back to his apprentice, petting her head with a level of care and sweetness Sofia had only ever seen him use with Calista. “No, no, It’s alright, love…Just go clean yourself up, it’s been known to stain. Bailywick will kill me if he finds out I let you stain another dress,” he stroked her hair gently, minding her tiara. Gods, had she scared him. This was why he tried to put his more dangerous potions and ingredients higher up. There were many things in his workshop she wasn’t allowed to handle, if he was working on a more dangerous spell or potion he'd practically push her out the door.
Sofia shook her head, running off to grab a broom from the other side of his workshop. “I’ll clean it, I don’t mind!”
Cedric rolled his eyes ever so slightly, snatching the broom from her small hands. Why was this child so sweet and who taught her to be such a people-pleaser? In what world does a child clean up glass? It’s an age-old situation, a little kid accidentally knocks over a glass, parent rushes over and yells at them to not go near it. “It’s glass, princess. I’ll sweep it up.”
“But that isn’t fair? I’m the one who broke it after all?”
“And I’m the one telling you to go change and let me clean up the very sharp sand on the floor because I’m the adult.”
Cedric watched Sofia’s face contort in confusion. “Glass is made of sand?” She was so cute. “How?”
Cedric smiled to himself, starting to sweep the glass into a little pile. He couldn’t have Sofia stepping on it. “It’s melted down into a liquid, then it becomes glass. Simple, really,” he explained, taking on a very soft, fatherly tone. He found himself speaking to Sofia like this a lot. It was quite odd, he didn't talk to anyone else like this, at least he’d never noticed it. “Now that that’s out of the way, won’t you go clean up? I’ll finish this.”
Sofia looked down at her purple dress, speckled with green potion. She really didn’t mind her dresses getting stained, it was only a dress, after all. If anything it was a reminder of a fun experience she got to endure. Even if Bailywick or Amber didn’t share her feelings.
“Do you have to remake the potion?”
Cedric shook his head. “It was defective, I’ve been meaning to throw it out. You beat me to it, princess,” he said, starting to rake up the goo. Sofia smiled a bit, she felt better knowing it would have been thrown out anyway. “I’m sorry I made a mess, Mr Cedric.”
“It’s alright, love. Accidents happen, I’ve broken an unruly amount of beakers in my time,” Cedric pulled his wand from his sleeve, pointing it at the small pile of liquid and glass and mumbled a quick spell, the floor becoming spotless once again. “See? No harm done.” Cedric put his wand back and patted Sofia on the head, making her giggle a bit. How was one princess so cute?
“You can’t go your whole life without a few mistakes, dear. Mistakes and accidents are inevitable, no matter how small,” the fatherly tone came back yet again, much stronger this time.
It was comforting to Sofia, it felt nostalgic in a way. Roland didn’t really speak to her in that tone, she vaguely remembers her biological father speaking to her in that way. A lot about Cedric reminded her of Birk, it was nice, considering she didn’t remember him all that much.
Sofia lept to hug Cedric’s waist, almost making him stumble backwards. That was a habit of hers, she was very enthusiastic with her hugs, sometimes a bit too enthusiastic. She just loved showing affection to the people she loved and cared about. Cedric very quickly caught on to the fact that she was a very sweet girl who wanted everyone to feel cared for, even if everyone else thought they weren’t worth the time of day.
“Thank you, Mr Cedric.”
Cedric smiled down at her, one hand on her shoulder, the other stroking her hair. He was growing to enjoy her hugs. A few years ago he would have pushed her off, but not anymore.
“It was only a glass, princess.”

Candy Hearts | Ricky Bowen

ricky bowen/fem!reader oneshot
fluff :)
summary: attending camp shallow lake wasn’t your ideal summer plan. however getting to spend a few weeks of summer alone with your boyfriend Ricky seemed to make all your nerves and anxiety ridden thoughts disappear.
warnings: anxiety/anxious reader, sad reader, shy reader, ricky bowen has adhd
word count: 3076
⁺˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚⁺‧͙⁺˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚⁺‧͙⁺˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚⁺‧͙
Attending camp shallow lake wasn’t exactly how you wanted to be spending your summer, but here you are packing all your essentials. It wasn’t that you didn’t want to be spending a few weeks of summer vacation with your best friends and almost too caring boyfriend, it’s just that your anxiety usually got the best of you. As you’re trying your best to fit everything into a small duffle bag that Ricky had let you borrow, your mother gently leaned against the frame of your bedroom door.
“Don’t forget your eyeglass cleaner, I know it bothers you even if it’s just a small smudge.” Your mother laughed while walking forward handing you the eyeglass cleaner and a small cloth.
“Thanks mom.” You said while trying to force a smile onto your face.
“What’s wrong Y/n? I can tell when you’re upset so don’t try to hide it.” Your mother stated as she sat down on your bed and grabbed the teddy bear that always sat on your pillow.
“Just nervous. I don't understand why you’re making me go.” Trying your best to not let the tears that filled your eyes spill down your face.
“Because this will be a good experience for you. Your friends will be by your side the entire time, you know Kourtney will be there for you. She understands how you feel so don’t worry she will take care of you. Besides, isn't Ricky also going to be there?” She was right, you knew that Kourt will always and forever be there for you, that's just the kind of person she is. As you looked back up at your mom she had a smirk on her face as she tightly held the teddy bear Ricky had gotten you a while back. You took the teddy bear from her arms and threw it on the pile of clothes you started folding so you could pack them into the duffle bag.
“No mother would ever be this happy that their daughter is spending a few weeks of summer vacation alone with her boyfriend, not to mention camp is also a few hours away from home.” As you stood up grabbing some more clothes to fold your mother also stood up and pulled you into a hug.
“That’s because I’m not like a regular mom, I’m a cool mom.” She said trying her best to keep a straight face.
“Okay enough with the mean girls quotes, but sure you're the coolest mom in the world.” You said hugging her back trying your best not to be so anxious about going off to camp.
Finishing up packing wasn’t the easiest trying to fit everything you were taking into that small duffle bag was a challenge however you did succeed without breaking the zipper. You were going to carpool with Kourtney, EJ, Ashlyn, and Carlos since Ricky was helping Big Red at the pizza place and was going to drive Big Red’s car to camp later on tonight. As you waited for EJ’s car to arrive you said your goodbyes to your mother and tried your best to look excited even though deep down you were a nervous wreck. EJ’s car finally pulled into your driveway making your heart skip a beat knowing there's no turning back now, you have no other choice than to attend camp. While throwing your bag in the trunk you hear Gina fighting over who gets to control the music.
“Wait so how are we all supposed to fit?” You laughed while Gina pulled you onto her lap and pushed your glasses up for you.
“Well hello to you too Y/n.” Gina laughed while trying to act as if she was hurt over you not expecting her to be in the car. Of course she wasn’t actually hurt. Gina had become the one friend who gave you the confidence you so desperately needed and the two of you grew closer since you knew she’d never judge you for being yourself. As everyone got settled into the car Gina turned the music back on and ‘Hopelessly Devoted’ from the movie Grease started playing through the loudspeakers and everyone sang along. Gina grabbed your cheeks as you scrunched up your nose as she sang the lyrics ‘But now there’s nowhere to hide’ then Carlos dramatically laid his arm on his forehead and leaned back into you and Gina as he sang the ‘Since you pushed my love aside’ lyric. The whole car ride was full of laughter and singing which made you think maybe camp would be fun. As you guys arrived at camp a girl named Maddox held out a bucket labeled ‘cell phones’ everyone placed their phones into the bucket while talking amongst themselves while you tightly held onto your phone and asked if this was a mandatory type of thing unfortunately it was and everyone had to give up all electronics.
“Camp Shallow Lake has a no electronics allowed policy in place so all campers can enjoy our activities and enjoy the outdoors, it’s only for a couple of weeks you’ll be fine.” Maddox spoke quietly to you as if she noticed how nervous you were. You gently placed your phone into the bucket taking one last look at your lock screen which was just a picture of Ricky holding the teddy bear he gifted you.
Walking towards the girls cabin Kourtney tried her best to make small talk with you as the rest of the girls walked in front of you guys.
“Please at least try to have a little bit of fun, I promise I’m not going anywhere I’ll be by your side the entire time.” She gave you a lighthearted smile and gave you a side hug as you both walked to the door of the cabin.
“Well this is certainly a choice” Kourtney laughed while pointing out every small detail she hated about the cabin.
“Save yourself the time and don’t even step one foot in the bathroom if you think the main room is horrid.” Gina chimed in with a disgusted look on her face while Kourtney covered her mouth with her hand and pretended to gag.
While the girls chatted among themselves you started fixing one of the bottom bunks claiming it as your own. While trying to unpack all the thoughts of having to stay here for a couple of weeks instead of peacefully sleeping in the comfort of your own home filled your brain. Trying to hide your discomfort you told the girls you were going to go for a walk and would be back later on.
“You guys think she’ll be alright and eventually get used to it?” Ashlyn asked worriedly, she had always looked out for you even if you two weren’t the closest of friends.
“I doubt it Y/n has never liked being away from home. It took her months to be able to sleep the entire night at my house when we were younger. She won’t even sleepover at Ricky’s even though Mr. Bowen doesn’t care.” Kourtney explained to the girls while Carlos quietly entered the cabin and joined in on the conversation.
“Y/n doesn’t look like she’s having any fun. I just passed her on the way here and she didn’t even look at me when I asked where she was going.” Carlos told the girls while giving them a sad expression.
“Wait, she really won’t sleep over at Ricky’s house?” Gina asked shockingly.
“Big Red may or may not have told me that Ricky thinks his ADHD and outgoing personality is too much for Y/n to handle.” Ashlyn chimed back into the conversation.
“Are Y/n and Ricky really having problems?” Carlos questioned Kourtney hoping she would spill every single drop of tea.
“Y/n just struggles with really bad anxiety and this is probably the last place she wants to be right now. They aren’t having problems but it just takes Y/n a while to become fully comfortable. Also Ricky has no room to talk because he is constantly getting Y/n in trouble at school for the stupid things he does like skateboarding down the dead silent hallways with Y/n trailing behind him dragging his backpack on the floor trying to get him to stop. Ricky doesn’t exactly help Y/n when it comes to her anxiety, he just makes it worse.” Kourtney says with a straight face.
“So you’re confirming that what Ricky told Big Red is correct?” Ashlyn asked Kourtney with a confused look.
“Ricky just needs to realize that Y/n struggles with being in unfamiliar places and becoming close with people. She trusts Ricky, she just needs more time to get comfortable.” Kourtney explained.
Everyone decided to stop questioning Kourtney because she seemed to be done with the conversation and decided to finish unpacking and talk about the activities happening tonight.
“Hey Y/n I’m sorry but you can’t be over here we have to start setting up for the campfire.” EJ stated while giving Y/n a small smile.
“Sorry rocketman.” EJ glared at you.
“Please don’t call me that absolutely nobody knows my camp nickname yet I’m not ready to be made fun of the entire trip.” EJ laughed. “The girls have been looking for you, you should head back and get ready for the campfire.”
“Sorry if I worried anyone, I was just trying to clear my head.” You explained and gave EJ a wave goodbye while you walked back in the direction of the girls cabin.
When you got back to the cabin none of the girls were there so you took the time to try your best to relax and find an outfit to wear to the campfire since it was going to get cold tonight. Time passed and eventually all the girls came back to the cabin with blankets to stay warm next to the campfire. Gina handed you a fluffy light blue blanket and asked if everyone was ready to start heading out. While the girls headed to the campfire Ricky finally arrived and decided to head to the boys cabin to unpack. While Ricky was unpacking in the boys cabin he quickly made friends with a kid named Jet who finally agreed to come to the campfire with Ricky after some convincing. Before heading out Ricky grabbed the candy hearts he bought earlier and quickly made his way to the campfire with Jet.
“Am I late!” Ricky yelled over EJ’s horrible singing.
“You always know how to make an appearance, Bowen.” Carlos shook his head laughing while getting up from his spot next to Y/n so Ricky could take a seat next to you. EJ continued to sing while everyone watched him and made weird faces.
“Hey love” Ricky quietly greeted you while you let him take half of the blanket. You gave him a soft smile not wanting to interrupt EJ again.
You and the girls have been sharing a bag of twizzlers when out of the blue Ricky reaches and grabs one.
“Absolutely not Bowen go get your own.” Kourtney snaps at him. She had never really been fond of Ricky but tolerates him because you love him for some reason. You looked over at Kourtney while taking the twizzler from Ricky and placing it back in the bowl. Carlos seemed to be the only one to notice your obvious discomfort and sadness that Kourt snapped at Ricky for no reason. Instead of fighting with her Ricky shrugged his shoulders and decided it wasn’t worth it to start an argument, he knew Y/n wouldn’t like that.
“Here” Ricky said while handing you a candy heart that had ‘I <3 you’ written on it. You looked up at him and gave him another smile when he started leaning in you turned to lay your head on his shoulder. The rest of the campfire was filled with laughter and happy memories being made. Although you didn’t talk to Kourtney the rest of the time you still enjoyed your time with your other friends. Eventually the campfire ended and since it was getting late everyone decided it was time to head back to the cabins and get ready for bed. Everyone said their goodbyes. You gave Ricky a hug and said goodnight to him and walked back to the girls cabin with Ashlyn while EJ and the rest of the camp directors stayed behind to clean up.
“Are you okay Y/n? Kourt shouldn't have snapped like that.” Ashlyn asked before entering the cabin.
“Yeah I’m alright I know she doesn’t like him it’s okay.” You said back shrugging your shoulders. Ashlyn just nodded and gave you a tight hug before the both of you headed inside the cabin. It was getting late and everyone was tired so you rushed getting ready for bed so the girls could shut the lights and go to sleep. Some time had passed and everyone had already fallen asleep no matter what you could not fall asleep it felt as if your breathing was getting heavier with every passing minute and no matter what you could not get comfortable instead you were tossing and turning every second. Realizing you weren’t going to get any sleep you grabbed one of your hoodies and made your way over towards the boys cabin. You don’t know where the courage came from. Maybe it was because you were tired or because Kourtney made you mad but you twisted the doorknob to the boys cabin and walked in like you owned the place. Of course the boys were still awake. It was only Ricky, Carlos and Jet since EJ was still cleaning up the campground. Ricky quickly jumped from his top bunk and pulled you into a tight hug.
“Hey Y/n are you okay what happened?” Ricky asked, letting go and looking at you.
“I just couldn’t sleep and Kourt isn’t really being the nicest person right now.” You admitted fidgeting with your hands and placing them in the pocket of your hoodie.
“You can stay here, come on take your shoes off.” Ricky said while taking one of the million pillows Carlos brought along with him.
“My pillows are the most comfortable they are made of-” Carlos was quickly cut off by you telling him thank you and Ricky turning the lights off as soon as he knew you made it safely onto the top bunk. Ricky quickly climbed back into bed and gently pulled you closer to him and wrapped his arms around you. Although this was new for you guys to be sleeping in the same bed you felt comfortable and played with the end of his t-shirt while you slowly drifted off to sleep. Unfortunately that didn’t last long because no more than an hour later the lights were being turned on by a very already pissed off EJ.
“Carlos candles are not allowed in the cabins!” He quickly ran over to the candle and blew it out. EJ was taking his new camp job very seriously which everyone found hilarious.
“We were trying to sleep, shut the lights back off it’s late” Ricky said sitting up to face EJ.
“You guys were not sleeping Jet is playing that stupid video game and Carlos has his face misting thing on.” Carlos just rolled his eyes and continued to ignore EJ. As soon as Ricky sat up EJ saw you laying there next to him.
“Y/n get up you’re not allowed to sleep in here.” EJ said with an annoyed look on his face.
“Just go to sleep EJ nobody else cares, it’s not like we are going to do anything.” Ricky replied back.
“No Ricky it doesn’t matter I’m not getting in trouble for letting Y/n sleep in your bed. Come on Y/n get up I’ll walk you back to the girls cabin.” EJ was serious this time and wasn’t in the mood to joke around or let anything slide. Ricky was starting to get angry but before he could start a fight with EJ you started to quietly explain what was going on to EJ. It was hard for you to talk about your struggles with anxiety and explained that earlier in the day when you had talked to EJ because you were sitting where the campfire was being set up you told him it was because you were trying to clear your head and calm yourself down. After some more talking EJ finally agreed to let you stay and apologized for being an asshole. You accepted his apology, you knew he didn’t hate you and that he was just tired and wanted to go to sleep after a long day. Eventually morning came and the bright sun came shining through the windows. EJ was already up and gone getting the day started with the campers while Carlos was just heading out the door to go get some breakfast.
“Good Morning love” Ricky said while pulling you closer to him. He always called you some sort of name but love was always your favorite. You gave him a quick kiss and hugged him tight while he pulled the blanket up further so you were comfortable. However your sweet but short lived moment was only to be interrupted by the one and only Dewey Wood.
“I see not one but two violations in front of me.” Dewey stated while Jet quickly hid his gaming system under his blanket. Following his actions Ricky jokingly covered you with the blanket.
“Jet, why don’t you get up and go get some breakfast.” Dewey recommended and Jet followed his instructions not wanting to get his games taken away.
“Now that it’s just us, let's have a very nice detailed conversation about why this isn’t allowed.” Dewey said while gesturing his hands towards the two of you.
You may have not had the best first night at camp and while yes having ‘the talk’ with none other than Dewey Wood was intriguing yet embarrassing you had one of the best morning’s ever getting to spend time with Ricky brushing your teeth together while dancing to music on EJ’s record player and then getting to eat breakfast together pretending it was like a mini date. Ricky may be a lot to handle sometimes but he truly does take all your worries away and you couldn’t ask for a better boyfriend than Ricky Bowen.

Art (click for better quality) and "Prologue" for a hypothetical book on Grimhilde's backstory. Basically, if Disney had hired me to write the Villains series, here's how I would have tackled the story that started it all:
Prologue
She was seven years old when first she saw the Mirror.
She was meant to be in the nursery, playing with her dolls or practicing her sewing, perhaps throwing crumbs to the doves that clustered on the window-sills like piles of fluffy shifting snow in the summertime.
But she had not wanted to do any of those things. She wanted to go down to the stables, and peer in at the beautiful creature that now lived there. A fine young colt, jet black but for a white star set perfectly in the center of it's brow. It had been a gift  from some visiting noble seeking to court favor with the young future heir.
A gift meant for her brother.
She had not received any such a fine gift. She had received a doll. Pretty and poised in its pink and white perfection, and taken from a pile of gifts meant for his own daughter. A trifle to appease a princess the nobleman had forgotten even existed.
And though she was only a child still, and could not yet ride and did not even know she had wanted to ride, until she had seen this beautiful creature, the slight had stung, and burrowed deep.
It was her first experience with envy. And with hate.
She loved her brother of course. He was her twin, her confidant and her only friend. Dolls and puppies and even ponies did not count. Certainly not the silly nursery maids who went around cooing as if they were an oversized flock of doves themselves. She could not talk to any of them and expect them to talk sense back. But though she loved him, she also now envied him. Deeply.
And she hated the nobleman for putting the envy in her heart. For not seeing her as just as worthy of such a prize. For not thinking of her at all beyond that she was a girl and a princess and so a doll was perfectly acceptable to give. She hated him with all the pure burning heat of a first hate. Passionate and Consuming.
And it was this burning, white hot hate that made her slip from the nursery, down the long corridors and up the winding stair, to ask Nanny for a curse.
"A curse duckie? What sort of curse now? And for whom? How strong a curse? How long a curse? Ye must think these things through my dearie."
She told Nanny, her small fists shaking as she spoke, of the preening nobleman, courting her brother's favor. Of the black horse with the star on its brow. Of her jealousy. Of her hate. How she would caste such a curse on him that it would hound him till the ends of the earth, if she only knew how.
Nanny's high rattling cackle echoed around the tower room, sending the spiders in the eaves above scurrying frantically about.
"Oh duckie, ye have the spark to cast one, that ye do. I can see it burning' in your dear little eyes. Your mother hasn't that, though she has the cold heart for it. She's always had to rely on dear old Nanny Hex, and the Mirror of course. Well you come along with old Nanny then, come along now, and let's see what mischief we two can do."
Nanny Hex was not her nanny, not the one who watched over her and her brother in the nursery, a tall stern woman who made sure they ate their meals without staining and played only with appropriate decorum, as befitted a prince and princess.
Nor did she wear a large white cap and spectacles like her nursery nanny did. Nanny Hex's hat was tall and black, with a large shiny buckle, silver like the moon. Her eyes were large and slightly crooked, so any spectacles that tried to sit upon her already slanted nose would have had their work cut out for them. She was small and hunched, with one limping foot, which she alleviated by use of a walking stick nearly as gnarled as the hands that held it.
She did not know how old Nanny was. Old enough that she had been her mother's nanny in truth, raising the young princess from infancy to womanhood. But she had been old then as well, if the whispers of the court were to be believed.
Those who were less foolish in their gossip spoke of the magnanimity of Queen Richilde, to take such care of her old nurse in her dotage as to allow her chambers within the palace itself.
The less prudent would scoff over the Queen's favor towards 'such a wizened and ghastly old crone'.
Such as these never lasted long at court, and misfortune seemed to follow them into their exiles as well. Nanny, for all her years, still had a sharp ear, and a long reach.
It was Nanny who had taught her mother how to use the Mirror. Gazing into its depths to outwit the suitors who came to try and win Richilde's hand when her father, wearying of her reluctance to wed, had offered it in contest.
Ninety and nine men had tried and failed to win her, each one discovered and undone with the aid of the Mirror's all knowing gaze.
The last, the man who had fathered her and her brother, had succeeded only through magical aid of his own. He had tried his hand at the contest only to avenge the two brothers who had failed before him. But one look at Richilde's face, and he had fallen in love as one falls to a fever, or madness. And he had adored her until the day he died; the day after she and her brother had been born.
A hunting accident, they said. Her grandfather passed soon after, a fever. Her mother had ruled alone ever since.
She had heard the story many times, from nurses, but they had spoken only of her father's side of the tale. Of his cleverness, of the fox and bird and fish that had aided him in winning her mother's hand. They knew nothing of the Mirror.
Of that, she had learned from Nanny, in whispers and promises. Promises she had made to her mother long ago. Promises that now, it seemed, would be fulfilled.
The Mirror stood in the highest part of Nanny's tower, in the center of a wide room encircled by wide windows, looking out over the city and the forests beyond.
It was a large, bejeweled thing. Taller than her, taller than Nanny, a golden oval formed from the bodies of two filigreed snakes, mouths open in agony. Upon the apex of the oval was the gleaming design of a crown, backed by the fan of a peacock's tail, inlaid with pearls and lapis lazuli. The royal insignia of her house, standing proudly above the serpents which symbolized the land her ancestors had conquered.
But the Mirror itself was dark, an empty expanse like a great pit. No light reflected from it; indeed it seemed to draw the light from the windows into itself, rendering the room the appearance of shadow even now, in the heat of the day  She could see no reflection of herself in it at first; it wavered into being, as if coming from far away, from the depths of the world.
"You stand before it now, duckie, and tell it who you are and what you want. Call and ask it in this wise now"
And Nanny told her what to say, and do.
She stood before the Mirror, looking at her reflection, small yet clear. She had her mother's dark hair and pale complexion, made even paler in this noon-day twilight. Her eyes, green as emeralds, were her father's people said. Those eyes now flashed with an inner light, an expectation of what was about to come, as she lifted her arms high above her head, and spoke.
"Slave in the magic mirror, come from the farthest space, through wind and darkness I summon thee. Speak! Let me see thy face."
There came first wind, whipping her hair about her head so that it looked like a writhing of black snakes. Though not a tree outside the tower was seen to move.
Then there came the crack of thunder, and the flash of lightning, illuminating the dark room and casting shadows black as pitch upon the walls. Though the sky outside the tower remained clear and blue.
At last, there came fire. Fire from within the void of the mirror itself, a crackling blaze that licked about the edges of the glass, as if seeking escape into the room beyond.
And then--there was a face.
Grotesque, pale green like a corpse pulled from a long repose within dark water. It was wreathed in smoke, empty eyes and mouth that gapped with the void surrounding it. When it spoke, the voice echoed as if coming up from some deep and empty chasm.
"Who is it who summons me?"
She stood as one frozen, fear and wondering warring within her as she gazed upon the face. The fire of hatred that had brought her here began to quench before the reality of this moment, this thing before her, this creature that was nothing of the mortal realm she walked and played in, but a thing infernal, with the power to shatter her to bits if it wished, and kept from doing so only by a thin plane of glass.
She no longer wished to gain her petty vengeance. She wanted to flee. Back down the winding stair, back down the corridors, back to her nursery and the sunlight and even the incipit pink and white doll. Away away away from this being she could feel in her very bones was anathema to all that was humanity.
But she could not move. Fear held her fast. And Nanny's hand on her shoulder held her faster still.
"Now then dearie, speak your name" Nanny said, in a tone that brooked no argument. "Speak your name, and ask how to gain your prize. Ye cannot but ask now."
She wet her lips, willing her voice to firmness, to the power of command she had oft heard within her mother's voice. She imagined herself as her mother, standing proud and erect. A queen no one could ever ignore, a queen worth the lives of one hundred men.
"I am" she said, "The Princess Grimhilde von Brangomar, daughter of Richilde von Brangomar, Conquer Queen of Shi-Tan."
"What wouldst thou know, o daughter of my queen? Ask, and I shall tell it thee"
She stood straight, summoning up the hatred that had brought her here, to this place, this moment. She had the sense that after this question, nothing in her life would again be the same.
"Mirror, Mirror, on the wall--how may I make my enemy fall?"

I exhaled, scrubbing the floor that magically seemed to gain more filth each time I blinked.
Never had I so regretted touching a book as I regretted touching the one that had transported me into this fairytale world that was a little bit too much like Cinderella for my liking. Especially considering I was the one in the role of Cinderella.
I should've known to be wary of the enchanted books Crowley had told me to take to the library for safe storage. If I had, then maybe I would have found myself getting transported to a magical world that wasn’t my own or Twisted Wonderland.
Of course, I hadn’t exactly been planning on opening one of the books. One of them had just slid off the top of the stack and fallen to the ground, opening as it did so.
I’d frowned at the book covered in sun-faded fabric that obviously hadn’t been original to it as I sat down on the other books before kneeling and slowly picking the book upright as Deuce had come into the room behind with yet another stack of books.
I’d barely even gotten a chance to glance up at the young man as a flash of light sparked out from the book, causing the young man to shout in surprise before everything had faded into darkness and I’d woke up here.
I hadn’t woken up with no clue as to where I was. The enchantment on the book had been kind enough to give me all of the information regarding my character’s backstory.
And it was almost exactly that of Cinderella. Meaning that I was essentially trapped in a retelling of one of the world’s most famous fairytales known to man.
The only real comfort was that, at the very least, Deuce had no doubt seen me get sucked into the book.
He would go and get help; I knew he would, and as soon as they could figure out how, I trusted that my friends would get me out of this book and back into Twisted Wonderland.
But up until then, my best options seemed to be filling my role and playing the part of Cinderella. Which included servitude to my apparent stepfamily.
“You still haven’t finished cleaning the floor, Ashes? You won’t be able to go to the ball at this right!” My supposed stepsister trilled at me from the upper staircase, and I twisted to look up at her.
I had to hand it to her and my stepmother, who stood behind her with a faux-disappointed expression; they weren’t going with the classic nicknames of ‘Cinderella’ or ‘Cinders.’ Instead, they referred to me as ‘Ashes.’
I watched as my stepmother shook her head, her lips pulled together in a pout, “Really, dear, I would have thought you would know this by now. If you try to clean the floor while covered in filth, then you’re only going to spread filth around.”
I glanced down at my clothes, which were not, in fact, covered in filth but were considerably stained. I nodded nonetheless, my fingers curling into the filthy rag I was using to clean, “Yes, ‘Mother.’”
I heard the tapping of heels, and then my chin was lifted by a fan so that I was looking up into my stepmother’s face, which was just a little bit too red to be colored by blush alone, “I told you to call me ‘Duchess,’ Ashes.”
I pulled my mouth up into a fake smile, “Yes, of course, Duchess.”
She let out a hum before twisting to look up at the clock and tutting lightly, “It is far too late for you to join us at the ball, Ashes. I’m afraid you’ll have to stay behind tonight.”
I twitched slightly at her words, indignant on my character's behalf. For tonight, she said. More like for the rest of your existence.
I wasn't particularly looking forward to meeting the prince charming of this story, but I was looking forward to my entrance at the ball. At the very least, I would get to see her shocked and dismayed face then. Though that was only a little comfort, considering it wasn’t actually going to be ‘Ashes’ who finally bested this woman.
The fan was yanked from under my chin, and she made sure to drag its sharp corner along my skin before finishing pulling it away as she smiled at me, “Be sure to finish your chores, ‘Dear.’”
She stepped away, turning in a swirl of rich but gaudy fabrics as I watched her stalk out of the kitchen and to her smirking daughter’s side, “And remember, tomorrow the prince will be visiting to declare his intentions to my daughter.”
My daughter. Not your sister.
But that was fine. In no way did I want to be accused of being related to the caution orange monstrosity of tulle that was the wicked step-sister of this tale.
I bowed my head, idly wondering what my fairy godmother would look and be like as I murmured my response, “Yes, Duchess.”
The two women left, trailing shrill laughter behind them as they swept out of the room, and I sat back.
As I recalled, the fairy godmother usually showed up right after Cinderella’s heart was broken, which did make me wonder if she would even show up.
According to the plot, she should, but I was hardly heartbroken.
But that was fine. I’d found a dress in the attic that was a perfect match for my size that was no doubt left by the previous lady of this house.
Ashes’s mother.
Changing didn’t take long, and I glanced at the clock as I walked through the house. The only question now was how, exactly, I was going to get to the palace without a pumpkin carriage to take me there.
I stepped out of the house, glancing around and feeling my eyebrows raise as I spotted a carriage that was parked right outside the house. A little bit too handy to be a coincidence, as the man in front waved me over.
“You must be a lady of this house. We’ll have to hurry to get you to the ball on time, my dear,” He smiled warmly, and I felt myself grin back at him before clambering into the carriage and sitting as it took off.
I frowned at the box next to me, though, immediately suspicious as I leaned out the window, “This box… Are you delivering it?”
The man shook his head, “No, ma’am, that would be for you. Some faerie stopped by and left it here, saying the lady who took this carriage to the palace would need it.”
I frowned at it, feeling my eyebrows lift before I carefully opened the box to reveal delicate glass slippers.
I felt myself laugh slightly; I supposed it wouldn’t really be a Cinderella fairytale without at least one gift from a fairy godmother after all.
And, just like a perfect fairytale, they fit like a dream and were impossibly comfortable despite their design.
I found myself shaking my head and smoothing back out the full, layered skirts of my dress, idly wondering about what this prince charming was going to be like.
Probably perfectly handsome, in a brilliant white suit, and totally at odds with the young men I’d gotten so used to being around at NRC. And there was nothing wrong with that. In fact, that would make him someone that I’d want for this story’s protagonist.
Ashes deserved someone who would be good to her in ways that she had experienced since her childhood, when her father and mother were still alive.
It didn’t seem like I’d been in the carriage hardly anytime at all when it rolled to a stop and the coachman leaned around, a smile on his face that somehow reminded me of Cater, even though he looked nothing like the ginger-haired young man, “Here’s your stop, ma’am. And good luck on winning the prince’s heart.”
I felt myself smile at him as I stepped out of the carriage, noticing that its roundness really did make it appear like a pumpkin.
“It looks like I’m going to be fashionably late,” I was surprised to find that I felt oddly nervous as I looked up at the grandiose staircase that led up into the sparkling palace just ahead.
He leaned down, winking at me lightly, “All the better for making an entrance, I say. Now, farewell, my lady.”
And with that, he snapped his reins once, and the carriage pulled away as I started up the staircase, at first slowly and then trotting, as my skirt fanned out around me.
Sets of doors after sets of doors were opened for me as I hurried through the palace, idly checking clocks as I went. Even I knew that the magic would wear off at midnight, and if I wanted this story to move forward, I needed to meet the prince before then, at the ball.
And right now, even as I filled the role of the princess in this story and even looked the part for once, ending this story was still my best chance of returning home outside of relying wholly on my friends to get me out.
I found my pace slowing, though, as I approached a particularly ornate set of double doors in front of which two men stood. Both of them looked my way and nodded slightly before they opened the doors silently for me. Revealing the glittering spectacle of a ball that was spread out in front of me as I walked out on a dais from which two sets of stairs fanned out.
I could see the musicians getting ready, but they obviously hadn’t started playing yet, which meant I’d made it before the prince had made his choice of partner.
I swallowed thickly, letting one hand rest on the stair’s gently curving rail while the other reached to lift my skirts, just enough for me to slowly step down the stairs and the rest of the way into the brightly lit ballroom.
I exhaled softly, bracing myself to meet Prince Charming when I saw him, and somehow, instead of being surprised, I only smiled.
His eyes were wide as he took a few, almost hesitant steps towards me before he smiled in return from across the room.
Guests parted around him, their confusion evident as he walked towards me at my quick pace and heads turned, their eyes landing on me as he slowed and came to a gentle stop right in front of me, “I finally found you.”
His voice was so soft, and I laughed slightly, shaking my head in slight disbelief until I found my voice, “Deuce… I didn’t even know you were here. Did you get sucked into this story at the same time I did?”
He nodded, glancing down and making a slight face before he looked up at me once more, “Yeah…  I’ve been looking for you ever since so we could get out of here, but I’ve also been getting forced to act like a prince…..”
He trailed off, and I laughed slightly, tilting my head at him, “Well, you look like a perfect prince.”
He brightened at my words, though he also looked a little bashful before he nodded slightly, “And you look like a real princess, Y/n!”
He reached out, taking my hands in his, and I heard music start up almost immediately, causing my eyes to widen and glance over towards the musician right as one of the men from the top of the staircase spoke up, “His Highness has chosen his partner!”
I looked back towards Deuce, only to find him looking around just as startled as I was, “I don’t know how to dance though….”
I squeezed his hands lightly, pulling his gaze back to me with just that slight gesture, “Hey, we’ll do it together.”
I watched as he blinked at me slightly before nodding, a determined glint entering his gaze, “Right, together.”
And with that, we shifted, spiraling across the floor with unpracticed motions that somehow seemed oddly perfect. They fit the two of us. Two people who weren’t originally from this story but had still ended up swept up in the tale.
As the music trailed off, we came to a slow stop, with his arms wrapping around me as we both laughed slightly. Perhaps from the giddiness of having danced in front of an entire group of people, or maybe from the ridiculousness of us being in a fairytale such as this one.
And then, as I leaned against him, the lights seemed to brighten and turn the entire ballroom white.
I closed my eyes, pressing my face into Deuce’s shoulder as his grip on me tightened until, at last, I chanced opening my eyes only to find the glittering spectacle of the ballroom gone.
I sat back, startled, and my motions caused Deuce to jolt slightly, his own eyes opening as we looked up at the Heartslabyul students around where we knelt on the floor of the school’s library.
“Guys! How-”
“We just closed the book,” Ace was shaking his head at us, his arms crossed as he looked down at us, and I blinked as his stare shifted over to Deuce and he snorted.
“Next time, instead of diving in after the Prefect, use your head, and maybe they won’t be trapped in a book for so long.”
Deuce frowned, straightening from his seated position, “Hey! I had to do something!”
And just like that, the two of them started bickering. But I felt a light tap on my shoulder that had me turning as Cater smiled down at me, “So what was being a princess like?”
I blinked at his words before a smile slowly started to crawl across my face, half in amusement and half in genuine happiness that I’d gotten to experience such a magical little story.
I looked over at Deuce as I smiled, realizing I’d probably never get to see him dressed up like a prince or dance with him like that ever again. And those, at the very least, were two memories I’d treasure for the rest of my life.
And when I answered Cater, I was still smiling, half-wishing we could have made it to the end of the story. It had felt like we’d only just gotten to the good part after all.
“Like a fairytale.”

Could you elaborate on your “you can make your wish come true” =/= Disney’s true message idea? I really like it and want to incorporate the sentiment into my Wish rewrite, but I’m having a hard time finding a solid idea that makes it so different from the aforementioned “believe in yourself and it’ll come true” concept
The idea is not to believe in yourself. Thats super counter-characteristic to Disney heroes. It's all over their merch and songs, but in the actual story, the character isn't usually rewarded for doing things their own way and making it happen. They're also not usually rewarded for chasing their own dreams. They really aren't. Hear me out.
Tiana is not rewarded by the narrative for all her hard work. She's actually scolded by the narrative for being so focused on her dream, and her own way, that she forgets more important things.
Pinocchio, too. The narrative won't let him, or Geppetto, have their dream of Pinocchio being "a real boy." Instead, he has to be brave, truthful, unselfish. Again, the story puts more emphasis on "more important things" than the character's dreams or abilities.
Instead, Disney movies usually reward the character for giving themselves (what they want, what they like, what they dream of) up. For just doing the right thing. More examples and fleshing out here and here.
When I sit down to try and "script doctor" what went wrong with Wish, I change the message from: "You alone have the power to make your wishes come true, so keep trying!" to "Have faith to do what's right, and even more than what you wished for will come true."
Break it down like this:
"Have faith" - Focus on a truth outside of yourself and what you want and what you like, and keep focusing on it no matter the circumstances or how bad you feel. (Think Cinderella "finding the good points" of her stepfamily, or Belle sacrificing her dreams for her father's sake.)
"To do what's right" - This is where faith means taking action. Cinderella doesn't just daydream about things being better, she makes them better for her household by doing her work cheerfully. Aladdin doesn't just finally tell the truth: he gives up his chance at being with Jasmine and sets the Genie free. Tiana doesn't just change her mind about wanting love more than her restaurant; she breaks Facilier's necklace and won't let Naveen marry Charlotte. Faith = action based on that faith: the character focuses on doing what's right. Even and especially when it means giving up their "dreams."
"And even more than what you wished for will come true." - Usually, the characters dreams actually change. They no longer wish for a thing or a set of circumstances, like living in a palace or having their own restaurant. Instead of wanting a thing, they want a Good. Belle goes from wishing for more out of life to getting true love, which is "more out of life,"—and a way better version of "more" than just vague adventures in the "great wide somewhere. Tiana goes from wishing for a restaurant to wanting love. Pinocchio goes from wishing to be a real boy to wishing to be good, for his father. And then it turns out, that's what being "real" meant all along.
See?
The reason the "power to make these wishes come true yourself" is never mentioned is because in most Disney movies, it's not ABOUT you. The main character learns to just do the right thing and stop focusing so much on what they want. They usually sacrifice something, in the name of something bigger than themselves. And when they do that? They're rewarded.
By what? What are they rewarded by? (The narrative, yes, but what does that mean?)
The first Wishing Star Disney ever had come down to reward a main character for doing good was Pinocchio's Blue Fairy. When Pinocchio did the right thing, she literally rewarded him. And the same is true in Princess & the Frog: Tiana finally humbles herself and wishes on a Star, and instantly meets Naveen, who turns out to be better than what she wished for.
The idea is that the power to make your wishes come true is actually NOT in you. The power to make your wishes come true comes from something or someone outside yourself: the Blue Fairy and the Wishing Star represent that. It's like a higher power. Thats exactly what it is.
There's no reason for Tiana to be turned human, or get her restaurant, after she smashes Facilier's necklace. None at all. She broke the thing that could've gotten her to her goal. She gave her goal up. She thought she was choosing to "stay a frog." In fact, she also wasn't even wishing for love on the first place: she humbled herself and wished for her restaurant. Even though she didn't believe in wishing stars. That step of humility was seen and rewarded by a higher power—and the reward wasn't what she would've picked out. But it was exactly what she needed.
And she couldn't have done it herself. In fact, originally, she didn't even wish for the thing she needed, herself, in the first place. The star sent her on a journey to not only get what she needed, but want what she needed. The star did it all. All Tiana did was take one or two faith-based steps that, from her point of view, were actually giving up on her wish.
I hope that clears it up.
