Info: Mickey, Oswald, Goofy, Gremlin Gus, and the Mad Doctor are invited to join Donald, Scrooge and the nephews on an adventure to a golden lucky penny for Scrooge’s penny collection so he could spend something special for his girlfriend Goldi. Meanwhile, Launchpad decides to take the princes’ advice so he could win Della’s heart

-The Lion King:

An AU in which Nala reunites with Simba while they're still cubs. However, just like in canon, Simba refuses to return to the Pride Lands (in fact, his response is even more raw due to his age and the fact that it's still pretty soon after his father's death). Despite this, Nala continues to visit him, and just like in canon, their relationship even manages to blossom into something more as time goes by. (Of course, because Timon and Pumbaa have known Nala longer, there's less resistance.)

Today I learned that Disney's Lion King did not, in fact, rip off Kimba the White Lion.

If you go on youtube, you'll see a lot of videos comparing Kimba to Lion King, and generally claiming that Kimba ripped off Lion King. And they show a bunch of footage from Kimba. But the footage of Kimba that they use? It's from the 1997 Kimba movie.

See where I'm going with this?

Yeah..

The Lion King was released in 1994! That's three whole years before Kimba was released. Three whole years before all that 'similar footage' came out.

The Lion King couldn't rip off a movie that came out 3 years after it. On top of it, there's been a lot of attention-grabbing misinformation on twitter and stuff, with zero corroborating sources. I guess just to ride the 'Disney Sucks' train because they know it gets views?

And any other comparison footage from Kimba is just coincidental, super, super misrepresented.. Or its relevance in the overall show is blown out of proportion. Kimba has thousands of minutes of video footage from its properties, they have tons of scenes where different characters use their surroundings, do certain things, etc which kinda makes it nearly impossible for The Lion King to even show animals doing things without sometime, somewhere, being compared to something that happened in Kimba.

That scene where 'Kimba shoves a villain off a cliff' is taken from multiple different Kimba releases, and cut together to look like a remake of TLK's ending. That's why the villain lion changes colour in some of the shots lol.

Even the comparisons between the characters are dumb. The birds are nothing alike, and the hyenas in Kimba are just stereotypical villains with no personality. The villain lion dude pops up in like <10 episodes out of dozens and dozens of episodes and is just designed that way because villain tropes.

Tezuka productions, as a reply to peoples' claims that Disney ripped em off, has even come out to say 'they understand if you set a movie in Africa, there's a limited number of animal types (like birds hyenas etc) you can use'.

Literally, every single claim about The Lion King copying Kimba is manipulated to make a fake point.

So.. Y'all, we have been hardcore tricked!

This is the most damning first six minutes of a youtube video I've ever seen, the rest of the video is great too.

The Fancy Queen, my crossover parody of The Lion King (1994)

Synopsis: Nancy Clancy from Fancy Nancy searches for her destiny in this character recasting adaptation of a classic Disney tale, The Lion King.

When a young princess named Nancy (Nancy Clancy) is born and destined to become the next ruler, her mother, the Queen (Claire Clancy), introduces her to the beautiful kingdom she will one day rule. But when the Queen is killed unexpectedly, Nancy blames herself and is forced to run away from home.

The kingdom fell into the hands of Lady Gothel (Mother Gothel), who tricked Nancy into exile, along with her cohorts, the Gross Sisters and an entire army of green-colored pigs, led by Leonardo, aka King Mudbeard.

Time passed as Nancy finds herself adjusting to her new home in paradise with Louie, Miriam, Michelangelo and other outcasts.

But when the future of the kingdom at stake, Nancy, now fully grown up (Lunafreya Nox Fleuret from Final Fantasy XV) and along with her sister, Jojo; her sweetheart, Prince Ventus; her newfound friends, Louie, Michelangelo, and Miriam, must gain the courage to return home and set things right.

Honest question here; what’s your opinion on “The Lion King” (1994)? Quite frankly, I believe it’s an okay film, but it’d be curious as to what your thoughts are on it(given you’ve said yourself you enjoy discussing movies/shows and not specifically Vivziepops popular works).

Thanks for the ask! So The Lion King? Well no surprise, it’s a REALLY good movie. It deserved all the praise it got because MAN did it tell a good story with good characters, memorable songs, and ESPECIALLY a good moral, telling you to not run away from your problems and accept responsibility. That famous scene of Rafiki hitting Simba on the head and saying “the past can hurt but you can learn from it” just shows how much thought and passion went into making this movie because god DAMN was that a good scene, as well as all the other iconic scenes like Simba seeing his father in the night sky and realizing he needs to go back, or the emotional death scene to his father. The colors and animation of course is absolutely STUNNING and gorgeous, and the characters have always stuck to me, heck, I even love the SIDE characters, the hyenas are my favorites and I do genuinely like Timon and Pumbaa, they made me laugh a lot. So yeah, a great Disney film with a good moral, good characters and songs, it’s one of the CLASSICS so I don’t necessarily have anything to say that people haven’t already said! ❤️
