Toonami Weekly Recap 10/05/2019

Dr. Stone Kingdom of Science Arc EP#06 - Two Nations of the Stone World: The flashback continues, showing how Senku found Taiju and began work on unpetrifying him. Back in the present, Senku successfully revives thanks to the revival fluid, leading him to become more curious about the fluid's regenerative properties. To this end, Senku sends Taiju and Yuzuriha to infiltrate Tsukasa's army as spies while he searches for new allies. Meanwhile, a mysterious girl named Kohaku attempts to attack Tsukasa, who traps her under a tree before heading towards the miracle water cave. Discovering Kohaku after Tsukasa has left, Senku manages to use his science know-how to create a block and tackle to lift the tree off of Kohaku.

Dr. Stone Kingdom of Science Arc EP#07 - Where Two Million Years Have Gone: Kohaku takes Senku back to her village, where he meets guards Kinro and Ginro and a sorcerer named Chrome. Although Chrome's attempts at sorcery fail to prove himself superior, Senku becomes impressed with how far Chrome has come on his own and makes him his apprentice. Learning that Chrome became a sorcerer to help Kohaku's sickly sister, Ruri, Senku tells him about the world that existed 3,700 years ago and decides to help him develop an antibiotic to save Ruri.

Fire Force EP#10 - The Promise: The Company captains are called to the Imperial Throne Room for an emergency conference to discuss the Evangelist, and on the way they pass Amaterasu, the perpetual thermal energy plant. Raffles III, the Tokyo Imperial Emperor, suggests that the Evangelist seeks to possesses the Adolla Burst as displayed by Shinra in his battle with Rekka. Company 3's Captain, Dr. Giovanni, suggests that the Evangelist will be coming for Shinra and he should be protected. Later, Shinra visits Amaterasu and encounters the Joker who reveals that Shinra's younger brother, Sho Kusakabe, is working for the Evangelist as leader of the Knights of the Ashen Flame. Over dinner, Shinra shares this information with Company 8. Meanwhile, Sho prepares to carry out the Evangelist's orders.

Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma (Training Camp Arc) EP#13 - The Eggs Before Dawn: Before the students have a chance to sleep for the night, Dojima announces the next task, in which the students must prepare a buffet-style egg dish to be served at breakfast early next morning. As everyone spends the night trying to come up with a recipe, Soma decides on a soufflé omelette, which is met with silent criticism from some of the other students. As breakfast comes the next day, it is revealed the judges will consist of the hotel's guests and staff, with students needing to hand out 200 servings of their dish in order to pass. While many of the students including Erina, Megumi, and Takumi all manage to impress with their dishes, Soma struggles to serve his dish to anyone.

Lupin the 3rd Part 5 EP#16 - Let's Talk About First Loves: As Ami and Lupin, Jigen and Goemon converge on the royal palace, King Sinha regains control of Padar. The High Priest attempts to flee and establish an independent regime, planning to crown Princess Dolma in another country with a fake Bloody Teardrop, exposing his true ambitions for personal power. Lupin and Ami arrive and try to convince Dolma to join them. With his men disarmed by Jigen and Goemon, the High Priest makes a desperate attempt to cut a deal with Lupin, which Ami secretly broadcasts across the internet and public channels, causing the High Priest to lose his remaining allies. Dolma takes charge of Padar, publicly solidifying its sovereignty against outside influences and reuniting her people. Later Ami tells Lupin that she loves him, while Fujiko avoids telling Zenegata about her true feelings for Lupin.

Black Clover: Elf Tribe Reincarnation Arc EP#89 - The Black Bulls' Hideout!: Yami is summoned to the Golden Dawn so Captain Vangeance can apologise for Langris injuring Finral. Vanessa leaves to visit Finral, Magna leaves to train alone and Charmy leaves to search for new ingredients. Gauche, Grey and Gordon remain behind. Gauche becomes interested in why all the rooms keep rearranging and recalls stories Charmy and Vanessa told of seeing a ghost. The base is suddenly attacked by zombies summoned by Rades Spirito, along with Sally and Valtos. Gauche destroys the zombies before learning from Sally that Licht has forbidden them from killing him. Sally reinforces one of the zombies, making it more powerful, but it is destroyed by Gordon's poison magic. She tries to attack with her gel salamander, but Grey uses transformation magic to turn the gel to crystal, which Gauche shatters. Rades summons a new zombie, No. 0 Mikael Caesar, which is made from the corpses of two squad captains and uses both Wind and Plant magic. Zombies swarm into the base, infuriating Grey and Gordon, who consider the base to be their real home, and they both speak loudly and clearly for the first time that they will protect it. An alarm suddenly sounds from the base which violently rearranges itself in response to being invaded, revealing a mage with long, light blue hair concealed inside, who demands to know what is going on.

Demon Slayer and One-Punch Man 2 will premiere their English dubs October 12.

Toonami Weekly Recap 9/21/2019

Dr. Stone Kingdom of Science Arc EP#05 - Stone World: The Beginning: With Senku seemingly killed after Tsukasa delivers a fatal blow to his neck, Taiju and Yuzuriha use his gunpowder to set off an explosion around Tsukasa, allowing them to escape. Realizing that Senku wouldn't simply sacrifice himself, Taiju and Yuzuriha discover some petrification on his neck, giving them the opportunity to heal the injury by using the revival fluid. Meanwhile, a flashback shows how Senku first emerged from his petrification and developed the tools needed to survive.

gen:LOCK EP#08 Season 1 Finale - Identity Crisis: While preparing for their next skirmish, the gen:LOCK team receives a transmission from Migas, who reveals the Anvil and everyone inside is safe: the late Dr. Weller had figured out Union sympathizers were given a chip that could broadcast a signal to nanotech so that it would not affect them, and manufactured a copy for the Vanguard that was put into effect when the Behemoth's nanotech attacked. He then reports that the Union is making another move in Chicago, and needs the gen:LOCK team's help. As the team prepares to leave, Dr. Jha lets Chase know that they're always welcome at RTASA and reassures him that Dr. Weller was proud. The team touches down at a pier in the South Side to draw Nemesis to them: after taking out some Union forces they are horrified to realize Nemesis has been upgraded with flight capabilities and nanotech that can repair any damage. The team uses mindshare to get an edge on Nemesis, but when this does not completely work they decide to all mindshare at once. Chase shows reluctance to do so, questioning what this means for him, but before they can try anything they receive a notification that they are almost at uptime and need to download. Chase chooses to stay in his Holon, exceeding uptime and leaving him unable to return to his body, in order to buy the rest of the group time. Nemesis and Chase continue their fight, but when Nemesis realizes how important the team is to Chase he heads to where their real bodies are in front of the Museum of Science and Industry. Before he can attack them, however, he is ambushed by Miranda and Jodie in their tanks, and Leon (who had earlier learned he was gen:LOCK compatible but too old for the program) using the Holon intended for Sinclair. Chase realizes without the limits of uptime he can mod himself and overclock his Holon without any consequences, and continues his fight with Nemesis, buying enough time for the rest of the team to upload back into their Holons. The entire gen:LOCK team engages in mindshare, using their combined skills to disable Nemesis's nanotech and damage him beyond repair. Before Chase destroys him for good, Nemesis hints that he was a mere copy of the real Chase's brain, and that the Union made many more. With the battle over Leon tries to download back into his body, but because of his age the download is not entirely successful, leaving him in a coma that they cannot confirm he will ever get out of. Colonel Marin congratulates the team on helping them win the battle, and offers them a chance to return to the Anvil. Chase has a talk with Miranda, who sadly remarks that the people they were four years ago died in the Battle of New York, but tells Chase not to be a stranger and that perhaps someday they can try things again. The gen:LOCK team decides to move their base of operations to RTASA, with Migas serving as their chief engineer and liaison to the Vanguard, and Leon moving there to aid in his recovery.

In a post-credits scene, the real Robert Sinclair is revealed to be alive. His actions and appearance indicate that he may have escaped his captors and is now trying to find a way out of Union controlled territory disguised as a Union soldier.

Fire Force (VS. Special Fire Force Company 1 Arc) EP#09 - The Spreading Malice: Shinra saves Tamaki from Lieutenant Rekka, and then engages him in a violent battle. They use all of their pyrokinesis abilities, but fight to a standstill. Shinra uses his extra mobility to attack Rekka again while Tamaki keeps the children away from harm. Shinra almost exhausts the oxygen in his body, but he leaves Rekka heavily damaged. Rekka admits that he has been searching for children in who have latent pyrokinesis abilities, creating many Infernals in the process and arousing Shinra's suspicions about the abduction of his brother. Rekka says he is working for the Evangelist whose mission is to engulf the Earth in flame and turn it into a second sun. Rekka begins to create an inferno with his flaming arms but his flames are shut down by Flam Karim who arrives and seals him in ice. Suddenly, two white-cloaked figures kills Rekka from some distance away to silence him. The assassin then fires at Karim and Huo Yan Li, and Li loses part of his arm protecting Karim. Shinra creates a smokescreen, and with their targets obscured, the cloaked figures retreat. Karim then offers to work with Company 8 to find the mysterious Evangelist. After being suspended by Company 1, Tamaki is transferred to Captain Obi's Company 8.

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin EP#12 - Char, The Red Comet.

Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma (Training Camp Arc) EP#12 - The Memory of a Dish: Megumi manages to impress the judges with her Rainbow Terrine, which emphasises the maturity of vegetables. However, when it comes down to voting, all three judges vote for Shinomiya's dish based on the difference between their skill. Just then, Dojima gives his own vote towards Megumi's dish. Dojima states that Shinomiya has allowed his cooking to become stale, and that his status as a world famous chef has prevented him from developing his skills any further. This is revealed in flashbacks related to how Shinomiya's climb to fame involved making sure his dishes were made exactly to his recipe, with no tolerance for any kind of change. When Shinomiya tries Megumi's dish for himself, he understands how her dish was geared towards the needs of those eating it, and puts in his own vote for Megumi. With Inui also casting her vote for Megumi, the Shokugeki ends in a tie, with Shinomiya revoking Megumi's expulsion. As Megumi returns to her concerned friends, Soma laments what is, in his eyes, a defeat.

Lupin the 3rd Part 5 EP#15 - Her Relationship With Lupin: Betrayed by Dolma, Lupin and Ami escape with the aid of Fujiko, who has also claimed the Bloody Teardrop. King Rajahara Sinha has gone into hiding, whereupon the revolutionists declare martial law in the city in order to capture him and force him to abdicate. It also turns out that McGuire is really Ugo, a native Padarian, who was originally tasked with assassinating the princess, but switched sides in order to prevent the country sliding into open civil war. Dolma reveals that she decided to join the traditionalists and hopefully defeat them from within, knowing that she would not stand a chance without the support of her people. Fujiko and Ami evade the army with the wounded Lupin in their care, but Fujiko soon abandons the two to fend for themselves. Just before they can be captured, King Sinha, assisted by the Shake Hands Corporation, stages a counter-revolution. At that critical moment, Fujiko demands that Lupin state his true feelings for her.

Black Clover: Elf Tribe Reincarnation Arc EP#88 - Storming the Eye of the Midnight Sun's Hideout!!!: Asta and Noelle visit Leopold in hospital where Fuegoleon is still in a coma. Having both received encouragement from Fuegoleon Asta and Noelle swear to defeat the Midnight Sun on his behalf. Asta shares his confusion with Noelle about something Vetto said about not being able to forgive humans. Klaus warns them to be vigilant against the Midnight Sun's spies, though as they leave a shadow attaches itself to Asta and follows them. Klaus worries that despite being the strongest knights in the kingdom; most of the Royal Knights are also some of the worst troublemakers, such as Luck and Zora. The shadow attempts to spy on Mereoleona but she spots and exposes it as a spy whom she captures and interrogates. She decides they will attack the Midnight Sun in the morning rather than in three days, though Zora suspects she always intended to do so. To infiltrate the Midnight Sun's hideout they split into teams with orders to reach the centre by any means necessary. Mereoleona teams up with Asta and Zora. As the battle begins Rhya decides to join the battle, activating the Third Eye in his forehead while secretly revealing Licht is not in the hideout but is somewhere else entirely.

Toonami Weekly Recap 09/07/2019

Dr. Stone EP#03 - Weapons of Science: Aware of Tsukasa's murderous intent, Senku sends him away to the source of the revival fluid while he and Taiju make a batch of revival fluid to finally revive Yuzuriha. Needing weapons of science to stop Tsukasa's murder spree, Senku and the others begin travelling towards Hakone, with Yuzuriha managing to find the Great Buddha of Kamakura to serve as a landmark. The trio eventually arrive at a volcanic hot spring, giving Senku the means to create gunpowder.

gen:LOCK EP#06 - The Only Me I Know: The Vanguard is left reeling by the encounter with the Union mech, who to their knowledge is another Julian. Julian tries to talk to Miranda, who is unable to accept the idea that he might not be "her" Julian. Upon returning to the Anvil, Julian confronts Dr. Weller about the mech: Weller admits that the mech is another instance of Julian's brain, his "Nemesis." Contrary to what he had been told, the program had been making back-ups of his brains since the start of the program, uploading copies into one while the other would be deployed into the field. The Union became aware of the gen:LOCK program and ambushed Julian on one of his missions, capturing him and his Holon unit. With no other option, the ESU downloaded the backup into Julian's real body and ended the practice of copying pilots for the rest of the program. Soon after Julian learns all of this, the Union launches an attack on the Anvil spearheaded by the same giant Behemoth mech that attacked New York alongside the Nemesis Julian, who angrily demands that they "kill the copy" and that the Union promised they could return him to his body. The Vanguard's Julian quickly attacks the Nemesis, signalling the start of the battle. The Holon units are dispatched alongside the tank pilots, where they face the Union forces. Kazu and Valentina engage in mindshare, providing his unit with some edge in the battle. Yaz offers to mindshare with Julian but is turned down. The Union's droids breach the Anvil in a bid for the gen:LOCK pilots, forcing Kazu, Yaz, Cammie, and Valentina to return to the base so they can escape on a transport with Dr. Weller's android unit Caliban, who is ordered to use the Omega Protocol. In order to buy them more time, Weller sacrifices himself by blowing up the lab with several Union soldiers inside of it. The gen:LOCK units manage to successfully escape on a transport with the help of Migas, and the Anvil are able to down the Behemoth. Unfortunately, this results in the release of a massive nanotech cloud that quickly overtakes the battlefield and the entire base with most of the Vanguard's personnel inside. Chase is unable to contact the control center and the ground forces, including Miranda, and is forced to join the rest of his team as they escape from the Union.

Fire Force EP#07 -The Investigation of the 1st Commences: Captain Leonard Burns of Company 1 gathers his Lieutenant priests Huo Yan Li, Hoshimiya Rekka and Flam Karim in Special Fire Grand Cathedral 1, suspecting that Captain Obi is making his move. Meanwhile, following the so-called joint exercise with companies 5 and 8, the company members hold a joint BBQ. Later, Captain Obi confers with Hibana who confirms that someone is creating Infernals around the Shinjuku District which comes under the jurisdiction of Company 1, and they agree to cooperate in investigating them. Obi uses the rookie training reassignment system to embed Shinra and Arthur with Maki Oze and Takeru Noto from Company 2 in Company 1. When they arrive, Shinra asks for a sparring match to which Burns agrees. Firstly, Takeru Noto competes against Rekka, and during the bout, Karim extinguishes stray fireballs with his ability to create ice from sound. Lieutenants Li and Karim withdraw from the contest and Burns takes on Shinra and Arthur himself. Burns easily defeats Arthur and deflects Shira's strongest attacks, and following their defeat they are placed under the care of Lieutanant Karim.

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin EP#10 - A Red Mobile Suit.

Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma (Training Camp Arc) EP#10 - The Supreme Recette: Soma apologizes for knocking Erina over, but Erina refuses his help, thinking that she is letting her guard down. In the bath, Soma meets alumnus and Totsuki Resort head chef Gin Dojima, who is surprised to see that Soma has finished the challenge so quickly. Dojima wishes Soma good luck as Takumi Aldini enters the bath, and Aldini is shocked to see Soma having casual conversation with a legend like Dojima. The next day, Soma and Megumi are assigned the task of making the Nine Vegetable Terrine, but this time individually instead of as partners. Alumnus Kojiro Shinomiya, who will be judging the dishes, tells the students to think of each other as enemies. In the mad rush to claim the best ingredients, the unassertive Megumi is pushed aside and finds only bruised heads of cauliflower remaining by the time she reaches the table. Thinking about what Soma would do in such a situation, Megumi uses wine vinegar to preserve the color and enhance the sweetness of the cauliflower. Shinomiya passes Soma, but fails Megumi for making unauthorized changes to the recipe. Soma defends Megumi fearlessly, angering Shinomiya, who reveals that he intentionally provided a limited number of good cauliflower heads to limit the number of students who could pass. A furious Soma challenges Shinomiya to a Shokugeki to get Megumi's expulsion rescinded.

Lupin the 3rd Part 5 EP#13 - The Bow, The Princess, and the Terrorist: As Ami tries to fit into boarding school in Annecy, she befriends fellow misfit Princess Dolma Sinha. Lupin's next target is the Bloody Teardrop, a national treasure of the south-east Asian kingdom of Padar which is currently worn by Dolma. However, a terrorist group calling itself the Whales of Liberation occupies the school and takes the students and teachers (including Fujiko, who has infiltrated the institute for the jewel) hostage. Fujiko frees Ami, and they team up to defeat them from within, aided by Lupin's gang who have also discovered the terrorists' presence. However, one of the teachers reveals himself as Ugo McGuire, a CIA special agent, who prepares to spirit Dolma away, stating that Padar is in danger.

Black Clover EP#86 - Yami and Vangeance: Yami continues his story to Asta, telling him of how he and Vangeance were vice-captains after their former captain Julius became the current Wizard King. Julius sends Yami and Vangeance to deal with bandits being led by traitors within the Magic Knights. Vangeance spread false rumors to trick the bandits into raiding two villages, one overseen by himself and the other by Yami. The bandits attacked Yami's village with Yami finding the bandit leader that escaped him years ago among them, easily defeating him despite the bandit possessing a powerful staff. But Yami is trapped by two traitorous Magic Knights, Goht of the Crimson Lions and Mohl of the Silver Eagles. They attempted to kill Yami to cover up their crimes, but Yami was rescued by Vangeance and they defeat the traitors. After their promotion to Squad Captains, Yami forms the Black Bulls to take in various misfits while Vangeance established the Golden Dawn to accept the nobles' exceptionally strong mages. Asta fails to see the moral of Yami's story, to never quit no matter how many times Yuno beats him, and is punished for being an idiot. Asta regains his former spirit and joins the other Bulls in waiting for the exam results before Mereoleona makes a sudden and violent arrival.
