This one is definitely a bad name. While technically accurate, it's not the defining thing about this. Battle Cody & Obi is the name of my drawing that is my Codywan FMAB AU. Truly the title says nothing, and idk what i was thinking when i named the drawing but it's my fmab au

Here's it is so far:

In this au, the jedi are the state alchemists, Obi-Wan is a general and a state alchemist and a highly revered one but I don't know what his alchemy specialization is yet. Cody is his right hand who watches his back and has several big guns and people are scared of him.

I imagine this drawing to be them fighting Maul, who would absolutely just set a bunch of things on fire, not even with alchemy but with straight up matches cuz he's petty like that and Cody and Obi-Wan are trapped by the fire and waiting to see where he strikes next.

When I was ideating this, I realized that their dynamic is already pretty similar to Mustang and Hawkeye, especially with the "we can't date cuz you're my superior officer/subordinate" and the "i will flirt with others as a tactical move but it's fake and the real adoration only comes out with you"

the thing with Alex is that he's not stupid. He's generally a very smart guy. He just has a learning disability and doesnt do well in academic studies, which given how people make assumptions based on schooling:tm: often leaves for heavy judgment. Combined with a heavy accent and his gruff exterior people often tend to make wrong assumptions about Alex, and some stuff is unfortunatly internalized.

But in the right context and the right situations, Alex has his own strengths (and not just physical ones lol)

and for her its once again the god walking the earth feels alienated and unfit to be around mortals, their disgusting bloody teeth and bloody flesh, cruelty, endless greed, their stupid blindness to beautiful things in the world. shes wandering, lost, alone with the blinding light trapped in her ribcage until she finds the one shes always looking for and suddenly teeth and flesh are sooo nice. making her blush in fact. suddenly shes endlessly greedy too. feeling awfully mortal in this chilis tonight.

so they GOTTA be each others escape from the narrative basically.

Guns and Moral Arguments (A symbolic analysis that no one asked for)

I'm probably digging far too deep but perhaps guns are a good representation of how Crowley and Aziraphale misunderstand each other despite their love and affection for the other.

In season 1, we have the paintball fight gone wrong and then again in season 2 we are faced with the bullet catch.

When magic man (rip) suggests that Aziraphale will need a firearms license to do the bullet catch, he says, "Oh, I have one of those already." And Crowley is actually taken back for a moment.

And moments later we see Aziraphale assume Crowley knows his way around firearms.

"You'll Need a one hundred percent reliable marksman."

"Oh I know the perfect man for the job."

Each entity holds the belief that the other will conform with their 'side's' values. Aziraphale especially, expects that Crowley would have fired lots of guns because guns are for fighters. Demons are calloused and well, tough. What he fails to understand is that Crowley is not a gun person.

He can't even kill goats, so it makes sense that weapons wouldn't appeal to him.

Crowley considers guns immoral. What else do we know about Crowley? He'd deny it but he has a strong moral code just like Aziraphale, it's just a different moral code. I believe that's what both of these scenes are meant to demonstrate.

But why does Crowley orchestrate this whole scene with the paintball guns? He's actually making a moral argument: People, given tools of destruction, will use them to hurt each other, and therefore, weapons are immoral.

He's trying to show Aziraphale that guns are bad. Why does a demon have an interest in morality? In fact, Crowley has so much of an interest in morality that he makes a huge fuss to defend it.

It's all very angelic of him... And I think when he sees that Aziraphale recognizes this, it frightens him. ^^

On the other hand, Crowley sees Aziraphale as pure and untouchable (far to pure of heart, etc) buuuut Aziraphale believes that weapons can be used for good, I mean, flaming sword, c'mon.

Aziraphale has a Derringer hidden in his shop and Crowley suggests that Aziraphale reads too many books, but perhaps he truly enjoys owning it.

He's also drawn to the bullet catch trick above all else so we know there's some taste for firearms. Crowley fail to understand that Aziraphale is actually a baddie.

Underneath it all, the issue is that Aziraphale underestimates Crowley's pure heart and softness!

Also Crowley underestimates Aziraphale's bravery, and he doesn't see that his Angel is also a warrior!

(But no one underestimates them more than they underestimate themselves.)

wishlist — is it weird that i want someone to be rude to Jing Yuan? i want someone to try to provoke him, not through threats to him or his loved one but insults, derogatory assumptions slung his way, comments on his appearance or his demeanor or his behavior. i want someone to drastically underestimate him, and maybe not even realize how grossly incorrect they are in their assessment of him — because that's canon. whether it's because they don't really know a part of him, or all of him, or because he's no longer the person they once thought they knew, i want that conflict. i want that misunderstanding. it doesn't even have to be significant or particularly hurtful, but i want to showcase his tolerance and the way he looks at you so evenly, that in the silence following your words you realize you made yourself an ass for assuming. assuming what? anything. relationships, habits, personality, his pacifism as a general, truly anything that could be found or misunderstood to be a fault simply because you don't know him is on the table, but you cannot apologize because before you can even say sorry he's brushing off your words like he's heard it tens of thousands of times.

im seeing ferrari fans worried that lewis hamilton fans are going to be awful about ferrari if ferrari dont prioritize/treat lewis as the main driver. as a ferrari fan in most all motorsports i completely understand that sentiment because the team is very much worthy of respect! HOWEVER—

that is in no way going to be comparable to the racism lewis is going to face now hes a ferrari driver. a lot of europe has some naive ideas about their nationalities and racism and that allows it to run rampant in many countries. the moment tifosi perceive him as unappreciative of his seat or ungrateful towards the team or not a team player (accusations which have been leveled against lewis before) its going to be a fucking nightmare for him and every black f1 fan who ends exposed to that shit.
