The clutch of crimson eggs lay perfect and unspoiled within, except for an irregular pulsing she detected in one, the largest of the orbs. Before her eyes, a slit appeared in that shell, a tiny beak pressiong outward, tearing down. Frantic claws emerged, tugging, trying to widen the gap- until the little wyrmling fell back, exhausted.

The Last Thane
Tumblr media
Ah the dwarves of Dragonlance, the most irrelevant population in any known universe. When the forces of Chaos invaded Krynn and fought against every people and nation 'just what were the dwarves up to?', asked no one ever.
And the answer was, having a civil war because it turns out that dividing your country into independent jurisdictions based on racial lines isn't the wisest idea in the world for promoting unity. And for some reason that idea doesn't get any wiser when three of the five nations in your country have cultures built entirely around anarchy, assassination, and whatever the hell it is the Theiwar want other than just blowing shit up with magic.
In the middle of the dwarves thrice yearly civil war, Chaos shows up and makes things marginally more ordered.
So there's lots of fighting, lots of death, plenty of destruction, and then the agents of Chaos are banished thanks to the use of an artifact that's just been gathering dust in a closet for a few millennia. All in all, just another day in the life of a dwarf of Krynn.

Donna Douglas on the Nanny!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🖤 🖤 🖤
Fran: "We are shopping for a house in Beverly Hills. I wonder who our neighbors are gonna be."
Niles: "Well, not everyone in Beverly Hills is a celebrity. I mean, it's not all swimming pools and movie stars."
Donna: "Well, howdy."
Fran: "Niles, this is Elly May"
Fran: "Hi, I'm Fran. The realtor sent us."
Donna: "Come on in and sit a spell. Well, here's the living room, and out there is the cement pond."

Fistandantilus Reborn
Tumblr media
So straight into the spoilers. While the title technically isn’t a lie, this book isn’t really about Fistandantilus, and he’s not really a character in the book as such. Instead this is the origin story of Foryth Teel, Astinus’s time travelling field historian. It’s also a better than decent if somewhat generic fantasy adventure story.
But the whole thing was absolutely ruined for me by one detail. The older, and surprisingly pragmatic kender woman who was being hinted at as the young hero’s romantic interest turned out to be a young human woman with improbable makeup skills instead. I didn’t know that I was that interested in not-quite mayfly December romances where the partner with the longer lifespan is eternally youthful by personality but not really by appearance or even lifespan for that matter. But judging by how disappointed I still am while I’m typing this, I think I have to admit that I learned something about myself.

Michael Douglas & Kathleen Turner Reunite In The Trailer For The Final Season Of THE KOMINSKY METHOD
Michael Douglas & Kathleen Turner Reunite In The Trailer For The Final Season Of THE KOMINSKY METHOD
The final season of The Kominsky Method will arrive on Netflix on 28 May 2021. The third season of the Michael Douglas comedy bids farewell to Alan Arkin and says hello to Kathleen Turner as Douglas’ comedic foil. Turner and Douglas have worked so well together in Romancing The Stone, Jewell Of The Nile and War Of The Roses – and I expect this to be yet anther great pairing.  Morgan Freeman and…
