liking dnd is so funny because yeah you play the actual game sometimes but mostly you just think about the game and watch other people play the game and slowly go insane thinking about how much you wish you could play the game and hoping that buying more shiny rocks will fix everything

After 3 years and one EPIC final battle that lasted well over 20 rounds, our D&D campaign finally concluded on August of this year. The feels were real and the ending was bittersweet. And during that time we've made some really special life-long friends. I originally drew this as a holiday gift for the group in December of 2021, but it also works as a great stand-in for the times we spent together playing this remarkable adventure. my DND character just tried to solve a mystery by finding a spider and then asking her what happened. unfortunately she is a spider so she extorted an insect meal from us in exchange for this information but we weren't sure how to obtain one so I cast dancing lights to try and attract flies but then our tabaxi character failed to catch one even rolling with advantage AND with guidance cast so our bard had to make a lamp using minor illusion and our halfling took some sticky sugar candy out of her pocket and a fly got stuck to it.

and then the spider didn't know anything anyway

Geshtu plays a vampire drow Warlock named Ilewela (iLewela).

Hopps (oc belonging to @ickyguts) plays a drow swashbuckler rogue named Atlas.

Kyle (oc belonging to @technicoloranimalviolence) plays a Cleric

Mime plays a bard, Toothy a fighter, and Giggles a druid.

Sniffles is their DM naturally hehe

Geshtu kinda stays glued to Hopps during the sessions, he’s still uneasy interacting with most treefolk. Luckily it helps having a character to hide behind. He slowly opens up more over time, but he still keeps his distance for the most part. The others find him odd and a little creepy, but….he’s a really good warlock and is really good at driving the game. Its almost like he has a lot of leadership experience or something.

Hopps spent WAY too much money on cosplays for them. But they sure do look fly as hell.

Inadvisable tabletop roleplaying premise #137: parallel Dungeons & Dragons/Blades in the Dark campaign that takes place in a setting where all unclaimed treasures are legally the property of the Crown, so adventurers who just pocket any loot they find in dungeons are technically stealing from the king. Play alternates between running tactical dungeon crawls in D&D to obtain the loot, and running capers in BitD to launder it.
