This ending felt kind of frustrating. Dont get me wrong, really liked watching it. But it just felt... too much? And too little at the same time. There were just so many plot points that went unexplained and brushed over, while new mysteries were introduced. It felt like a cliffhanger for a cliffhanger's sake. There was no satisfying ending to Purgatory bc there was no ending. Literally, it didnt end. They announced pt.2 with other people.
And Purgatory was a plot that interrupted MANY other ones. Just so u guys get the picture im listing some of them:
rebellion (etoiles and fit),
soul vultures & grim reaper (bbh),
presidency & nether comeback (forever),
cell's comeback (cellbit, bagi, pac and mike),
fed infiltration (foolish),
past lives (cellbit & bagi/bagh/pierre/fit)
Here's also a list of all the unanswered questions and lost plot points i could think of, regarding all of the qsmp:
Who was the cursed team? The eye didn't mention it once during the ending.
Who is the Eye?
What the organization behind Purgatory is? Was it only 1 entity?
Still no answers abt what is the federation besides the worker hierarchy and that there is something stronger than it.
Still no answers abt Arin or the computers
What did qforever achieve by going to the nether? Was it all for nothing?
What was the Judas book? Was it related to Purgatory?
How did qPac get out of the Nether to go to Purgatory??
What were and what was the purpose of the Mini-mes?
Elquackity. Just Elquackity.
Antoine????????????
What does comic bbh recieved mean?
What does the egg story the islanders got on the maze mean??
What are the eggs?
Why were the islanders and eggs kidnapped by the Eye?
Why are they cracking? What are those cracks?
Why was the fed conducting hybrid child experiments?
What was the eye's intention? Why did they want to prove the islanders were bad people so much?
What does that radio convo they listened to on the maze mean? Who were the ppl talking?
Black cucurucho/evil cucurucho/baribal. How does he fit in the purgatory arc? What is it?
Why did the fed send qWilbur away to do shows?
What is the black substance?
What did they do to quackity? Why quackity?
Why was qmax told to build a nuke, how did he carry it into purgatory and why did he set it off on egg island?
What was the island b4 the current events? Where did the people that lived there go?
Why did qbagi's and qcell's parents live on quesadilla island? What were they doing there?
What did qCellbit discover that made the feds send him away?
What happened to Sofia?
Why did that guy tell qMax to build Sofia?
How did dan and spreen die?
What is Project AB?
Why was Dappers hat on the puzzle b4 the dice game?
Why was the first game directed to qBBH? Why was everyone else just tp'd?
What did the "Humans believe in god because they dont have answers. You are inteligent" line Cucurucho said to qBBH mean?
What did they do to qFelps when he was kidnapped??
What did the Fed do to qCellbit while he was infiltrated?
Is the rollback implied by qForever's insanity cutscenes canon? Or were they dreams/hallucinations?
Who is the rebellion and what are their goals and motives??
Why were they targeting the eggs?
What are the codes?
What is Codeflippa, who is she affiliated to?
Who is the Special Guest and why did the Fed buy muffins by their request?
Who is the Duck?
Who is the Host?
What did the egg's Purgatory messages mean?
Why were they first kidnapped?
Why did Elq kidnap Dapper?
The Angelic Cucurucho??
There's certainly more, but these were the ones i remembered. Also, yes, there are theories, implications and semi-confirmations for a lot of these. But no clear direct answer. Just fan work.
There's so much going on. While the regret arc was happening, the mysteries were simpler and the stakes were a lot smaller. We had the fed, the eggs, the island and the codes. That was it. The main goal was to get off the island but now. It ended in a satisfing way bc it was a linear tale that followed naturally and wasnt too long.
Happy pills was also a satisfying arc bc it ended clearly. We got the payoff we needed from it.
With the eggs disappearence arc, we've been suffering for too long. Theres always a new clue. We are always so close but too far. When we think we'll get an answer and a conclusion, we just don't. For the story to have felt complete we needed answers. What we didn't need was a cliffhanger. Another one.

I think at the end of the egg's story we're going to have to say goodbye and let them return to wherever they came from. I dont think they belong on the islands or the Federation or even their loving parents. The parents see the egg's shells crack and think it's a good sign, a sign of hatching, but we know the eggs arent organic. There isnt, or shouldn't be, a creature within them to hatch. So why are they "hatching"?
From what I've seen from q!Philza, he dismisses the egg's weakened state and pains from the cracks as regular behavior. The reason for this could be his own bias as a Bird Humanoid, relating their pain to the aches of his wings and feathers. I fear the longer the eggs are from their place of origin, the more dire their health situation may become as they return weaker and weaker after each disappearance.

I'm very happy to be making progress again on my beloved fic since the last-- FOUR MONTHS?!
No way, you can't tell me it's been four gosh darn months since... oh. Oh wait. No. It has. I checked. I made the note just to embarrass myself as a reminder. A stab at future me. Yeap. I did that. Welp. That's just how it is folks.
Anyway, my darling torment "We Fear the Cry of Monsters" fanfiction is taking off. It just passed 1,000 views on AO3 for the main body and is doing pretty well in other (smut) areas. Which is incredible. I'm so thankful for all the comments and the interactions I've received because of its contents. As a merge between the games Cry of Fear/Afraid of Monsters/ and "Grey", the themes are dark, morbid at times, and indicative of the interpersonal battles of self-control. We all struggle with something. To write about such specific traumas has been very cathartic toward my own. This project has helped me grow as an author and as a member of a weird and awesome community.
In this group of tales, Simon Henriksson takes on the challenge of facing the truth about what really happened to him on The Black Day - the worst event of his young life. Through moments of doubt, perseverance, and opportune interactions, the Author is able to uncover his memories both through a new novel entry as well as in the hospital where he permanently lives. Simon reunites with David, the man behind the wheel of the car that crippled him, who harbors a sinister secret. Grey, a companion from Simon's teenage days. Sophie, his romantic obsession. And Purnell, a pharmacist and mentor who refuses to give up on his patient. (Set in the aftermath of the events of the good ending in Cry of Fear - there's your warning for any spoiler alert concerns.)
I sure would love if you'd come have a peek if you're a fan of the strange, dark and mysterious delivered in story format ;) It's coming close to a conclusion. I can't promise when, but I'll be finishing this project as strong as I can. I'm excited for what's to come. Maybe I'll find you there... at the Source of everything.

Okay I don't know why I was thinking about this but here is random story
Alright so I used to work at Starbucks and this old dude comes in. I don't pay him much mind, I'm makin drinks. Anyways he orders a double smoked bacon. We ran out and don't have anymore prepared.
He is displeased.
My coworker helping him offers an alternative, The bacon, gouda, and egg sandwich. The bread is different and so is the cheese but it's got bacon and egg. It's not a one for one but it's the closest we have. The guy says sure. So the sandwich is made. The story should be over and yet here I am.
Turns out the egg is wrong. How could the egg possibly be wrong? It's an egg. You can't go wrong with an egg. But apparently you're wrong.
You see the smoked bacon egg is round and has the egg white showing and the gouda has a square egg that is alllllllll yellow. So clearly my coworker LIED to this man. He bamboozled this poor senior citizen because the eggs are not the same! They just aren't the same!
This old man just went off. Ranting and raving about all the lies he was being fed. Our manager did come out to see what was wrong. She tried to explain that it's just an egg that had it's yoke broken up. It was still an egg.
He was not satisfied. Nothing was good enough.
He did leave eventually, took the sandwich with him. And for the rest of the day we would look at each other and go egg is egg.
Egg is egg my friends.

It’s going to take until June 2025 before I get there. But I’m putting my shoulder down and beginning a very slow rugby charge in the direction of Bernard Gaynor

He looked at his hands, noticing the change in them blinking as he wasn’t stressed or panicked so this should not occur, he had been in control of this ever since he left his old job. Lifting his hands up, he noticed the skin on his arms had changed as well, which surprised him even more, and made him worry he would turn into a dragon and ruin their new house for a second or two. Then it suddenly hit him, as he put a hand on his stomach.
Lucas: No… it can’t be… It was a realization, just like Vy had once told him that day, what now felt like very long ago, that he had just realized there was an egg. The more he thought about it, the more sure he became, there was an egg.. He was pregnant.. But how? He hadn’t wished for it.. And from what he and River knew, River wouldn’t be able to have any more children, there was too much damage.
Lucas: Fuck!
It dawned on him, there had been too much damage but after they shared a heart, then that damage was taken away.. And it became possible. Had he maybe wanted a child somewhere deep down, without really thinking about it? And how on earth would he do this, and EGG!! He wasn’t even a dragon himself, not by heart, how would he manage to care for a dragon baby, or an egg.

Your tag said 'egg man will be with me forever' and oh boy it sounds like there's a story there?? Pls, who is egg man4
Okay, background:
I work in what is best described as several specialty medical clinics wearing a metaphorical trenchcoat, and my job is to check patients out (get them scheduled for any future appointments, creating orders for imaging or PT, referring them out to other offices if they need an additional specialist we don't have, etc). Check-out has little windows in front of our desks, and until I got promoted, I worked the corner window (which is the busiest by sheer volume of patients who stop to check out, ask directions, yell at me at random, etc.)
It is also important to note that my shift starts at 8am. I am not, and have never been, a morning person. I worked as a cook/server/bartender for about 10-12 years, so even though I've had this current desk job for almost two years, I'm still barely alive for the first hour of the day.
So
I'm at my desk, it's just turned 8am on a beautiful September morning. The sunshine blasting me through the east-facing 3-story window across from my desk is absolutely trying to blind me (as it did most mornings), and I'm juuust clocking in when a man walks up to my desk and politely says 'Excuse me, could you please tell me where the nearest restroom is?'
So I turn to him, still bleary-eyed but smiling under my mask, and I notice two things: 1) this gentleman only has one arm (not at all unusual, as we have plenty of patients who are amputees in and out all day), and 2) in his one arm, he is carrying two dozen eggs.
And he has just asked where the restrooms are.
In (essentially) a hospital.
Carrying two dozen eggs.
And I look at him, look at the eggs, back to him, back to the eggs, back to him, decide that I don't get paid enough and it's too early for... whatever this is, and direct him to the restrooms down the hall.
He thanks me, heads down the hall, and I try to shake it off.
Several minutes later, he walks back by and says thank you again. And waves.
And waves, with his one arm.
His one arm no longer burdened by two dozen eggs.
No signs of either eggs or their cartons on his person.
And I wave back helplessly, knowing that I'll forever wonder 'WHAT DID HE DO WITH THE EGGS?'
I have not seen egg man since that day, but I will be haunted forever.

looking at r/stupiddovenests and it's activating a memory in me of when i worked at a golf course as a groundskeeper and there were these big piles of mulch and soil behind our building for the gardener and the arbourist and at the same time every year they would be made off limits because turtles who lived on the course would lay their eggs in them and turtles are a protected species and it was so normal for the company that there were special signs that said turtle eggs do not touch just for the piles and when the first egg was found they would announce it to the staff at our morning meeting and we could get in trouble for touching the mulch pile

I always find it kind of funny when my friends or people in general say shit like: "oh, you have so many skills!" in regards to Things I Learned How To Do Myself Because I Never Had The Financial Possibility Of Paying For Other People To Do For Me.

I've had a hard time articulating to people just how fundamental spinning used to be in people's lives, and how eerie it is that it's vanished so entirely. It occurred to me today that it's a bit like if in the future all food was made by machine, and people forgot what farming and cooking were. Not just that they forgot how to do it; they had never heard of it.
When they use phrases like "spinning yarns" for telling stories or "heckling a performer" without understanding where they come from, I imagine a scene in the future where someone uses the phrase "stir the pot" to mean "cause a disagreement" and I say, did you know a pot used to be a container for heating food, and stirring was a way of combining different components of food together? "Wow, you're full of weird facts! How do you even know that?"
When I say I spin and people say "What, like you do exercise bikes? Is that a kind of dancing? What's drafting? What's a hackle?" it's like if I started talking about my cooking hobby and my friend asked "What's salt? Also, what's cooking?" Well, you see, there are a lot of stages to food preparation, starting with planting crops, and cooking is one of the later stages. Salt is a chemical used in cooking which mostly alters the flavor of the food but can also be used for other things, like drawing out moisture...
"Wow, that sounds so complicated. You must have done a lot of research. You're so good at cooking!" I'm really not. In the past, children started learning about cooking as early as age five ("Isn't that child labor?"), and many people cooked every day their whole lives ("Man, people worked so hard back then."). And that's just an average person, not to mention people called "chefs" who did it professionally. I go to the historic preservation center to use their stove once or twice a week, and I started learning a couple years ago. So what I know is less sophisticated than what some children could do back in the day.
"Can you make me a snickers bar?" No, that would be pretty hard. I just make sandwiches mostly. Sometimes I do scrambled eggs. "Oh, I would've thought a snickers bar would be way more basic than eggs. They seem so simple!"
Haven't you ever wondered where food comes from? I ask them. When you were a kid, did you ever pick apart the different colored bits in your food and wonder what it was made of? "No, I never really thought about it." Did you know rice balls are called that because they're made from part of a plant called rice? "Oh haha, that's so weird. I thought 'rice' was just an adjective for anything that was soft and white."
People always ask me why I took up spinning. Isn't it weird that there are things we take so much for granted that we don't even notice when they're gone? Isn't it strange that something which has been part of humanity all across the planet since the Neanderthals is being forgotten in our generation? Isn't it funny that when knowledge dies, it leaves behind a ghost, just like a person? Don't you want to commune with it?
