I’m going to say it

2002 Birds of Prey show was a good show. And I’m tired of people not knowing it exists/shitting on it.

It did a good job with Barbara (minus one thing I hated in the finale) as Oracle and her talking about being Batgirl. It did a good job with Helena Kyle-Wayne as Huntress. I’m still up on the air with Dinah. I enjoy Dinah, but then remember who Dinah Lance is in the comics and go “…huh”. But Dinah as a new character, I enjoy her. Alfred? God I love him. Alfred deserves the world. Some of the villains, pretty decent, especially for the fact is was freaking 2002 and the superhero obsessed world hasn’t come to full fruition.

I rewatch this show a lot. It’s one of my comfort shows. “But it’s cringe” oh shut up. Without this show you wouldn’t have much of a CW superhero superhero-verse. “But this part doesn’t seem very realistic” Shut up. I don’t care. It’s okay. I don’t think it’s realistic either but it’s a show. It’s okay

And then, Xie Lian abruptly froze. White No-Face was hugging him. As Xie Lian tilted and fell to his knees in a slump, he had been captured by a pair of cold, powerful arms that pulled him into a lifeless embrace. At some point, White No-Face had sat down on the ground with him. "So sad, so sad," he murmured. "Your Highness, look. Look at what they've done to you." He whispered softly as he stroked Xie Lian's head, his hands gentle and full of pity. It was like he was petting a wounded puppy or his own gravely ill child on the brink of death. The smiling half of the crying-smiling mask was hidden in the darkness; the moonlight revealed only the half that was crying, looking like genuine tears of grief shed for Xie Lian. Xie Lian remained stiff and curled in on himself, moving no further. The man in white behind him raised his fingers to wipe the filthy mud from Xie Lian's face. He sensed a peculiar kind of loving compassion in the man's touch. Like the embrace of a close friend or a dear family member, it miraculously returned a bit of warmth to Xie Lian's shivering body. He never expected that this sinister creature would be the one to finally offer him compassion.

4. Volume 7, "Dominate Heaven and Earth, Divine Being Breaks Through the Kiln", pg. 19

Xie Lian stood on the giant's palm, one hand pressing the bamboo hat down on his head while the another blocked his face from the snowstorm. The stifling hot air was swept cleanly away, and Xie Lian took a deep breath of fresh, freezing air and shouted: "San Lang-!" The first syllable was still echoing in the air when a pair of arms pulled him into an embrace from behind. Xie Lian stiffened at first, but he relaxed when he looked down and saw red sleeves and silver vambraces circling his waist. A deep, forlorn voice came from above his ear. "...I was about to lose my mind!" Xie Lian hurried to turn around. He cupped his captor's cheeks with his hands and soothed him, "Don't... don't. I'm here... I'm out!" Hua Cheng stood before him. His raven hair was mussed, and there was a lost look in his eye. He gripped the cry-smiling mask Xie Lian hadn't been able to remove no matter how hard he tried, easily tore it off, and tossed it away.

Before Xie Lian could finish his thought, the three mountain spirits besieged them together. They surrounded the giant stone statue and pressed firmly inward, trying to crush the state to pieces. The divine state couldn't move a single limb, nor could Xie Lian. He poured all of his strength into getting the statue to push them back, but it didn't budge- and at that point, it was probably powerless to fight back! As he tried to think of another way to escape, he unconsciously took a step backward and bumped into a chest. When he looked back, Hua Cheng grasped his shoulders. "Fight freely! It'll be fine- none of them are a match for you. Nothing in this world can stop you!" His chest was the strongest backing in existence, and in an instant, Xie Lian was brimming with confidence. A refreshing current flowed through his body, and he struck back with all his might.

Ayla di Alma is the Spider-Woman (Spider-Dolomes) of Earth 203-1. Her planet went through extreme climate changes, and with global warming, the water level rose enough to cover most of the cities, thus leaving few ecosystems and habitat, with aquatic ecosystems being the most abundant. The remaining living beings had to adapt to the new reality. Her suit is an adapted diving suit, her skills and outfit are inspired by spiders: Dolomedes tenebrosus, Argyroneta aquatica and Gasteracantha cancriformis.

She is a biologist, her specialty is entomology. After being stung, she went through many events before being recruited by Doctor Strange, thus helping him with some tasks involving the multiverse. And later on, she obtained the knowledge of the Spider Society.

On this Earth, Ayla works for a research (Fundação) facility where she was exposed to radiation and later accidentally bitten by a genetically modified spider.

Dolomes comes from Dolomedes, is a genus of large spiders in the Pisauridae family. Almost all species are semiaquatic.

In a timeline perpendicular to our own, magic and science exist as a co-binding force of the Universe.

On Earth, with a history which crosses through our own for a few hundred years, an influx of magiactive material has reigned havoc on the magical ecosystem of the planet. With this material powerful countries have begun to make nuclear weapons, using the cover of technological & magical progress as excuse. The Soviet Union & The United States of America are in a tense and quiet standoff wherein tensions have begun to bloom a flower of magiactive Armageddon.

i MURDERS OF SAN FRANCISCO

The first game takes place in the midst of the standoff – 1983, San Francisco. A detective named Maximillian Talon gets him, his unwanted partner (Sophi Sophie), and his secretary (Fair Jackson) fired for looking into a serial murderer plaguing the area and targeting “Spellbound” (those who practice spellcasting - witches, wizards, sorcerers, etc) communities, their magical items stolen. Talon and his 2 associates continue to look into the murders as the wealthy daughter of one of the victims pays them handsomely – though they have to keep their operation as under wraps as possible.

ii DAYO FLAVIEN’S OFF DAYS

Just a couple years after the war had ruined both The Soviet Union, the USA, and the rest of the world, the small town of Newgull, Wyoming has found itself relatively unbothered – for the most part. The summer of 1993 is when Dayo Flavien, his fellow student tutor (Delilah), and her best friend (Vanni) decide to look into the unsolved case from earlier that year in which one of their very boring teachers suddenly went missing. They end up breaking into his house and discovering a chip of a “Ghost Rock” , a stone that is made of the pure hardened Soul. Before they all head off to college after the summer ends, they want to figure out what a powerful magical artifact is doing here, and who could be after it.

As the world continues to recover, Tai’s little brother goes missing in the year of 2002. In 2003, their parents decide to move houses. An aspiring paranormal investigator themself, they decide to do a small “investigation” into the house their parents are buying; to their surprise, they discover a rip in reality made by a stuck Soul. Both them and the Soul fall into The Below (the supposed Afterlife). Now stuck away from Earth, Tai and their new ghost friends (Payton & Niall) decide to help them get back to Earth, and maybe even get back themselves – but in order to do this they have to avoid hungry Souls who would love to become living again.

SUNRISE HIGH AND THE EXPERIMENT 203

In 2013, an Unknown Person wakes up in the historical museum and library known as The Sunrise, in the infirmary wing. They do not know who they are and where they are from. Not too long after their wake, they are accepted into a large friendgroup that revolves around two troublemakers and Archivists-In-Training, Seymour and Scotty. Their appearance at the museum begins a chain of events that will rewrite the nature of reality as we, and they, know it.

Shaft 6, the Hydarnes Pit, had been the deepest and richest shaft under the mountain. We were forced to close it after the earth around it fissured, and the cage was dropped into the abyss.

203 miners were lost.

We attempted a rescue. The first level was only 120 cubits down. 150 cubits of rope were sent into the pit. The lead rappelled down but couldn't sight the tunnel.

After we retrieved him, it was my turn. 300 cubits of rope. Even if we measured wrong, even if I couldn't find the first tunnel, I still should have found the second. There was only fractured rock, stuck timbers, and the darkness below me. I would call out and only be answered by the people at the top.

We woke the next morning to try again. A storm rolled on the horizon.

Enough rope was gathered to reach the bottom of the shaft and then some.

Still stung by the previous day's failure, I volunteered to rappell first.

The rope was marked appropriately for each level along the shaft. The marks shouldn't have been necessary to find tunnels cut into stone, but I wasn't willing to take chances with so many lives on the line.

I moved down the rope as the light above faded to a pinpoint, like a lonely star, and then to nothing. At each & every level where a tunnel should have been there was instead only the crumbling walls of the pit.

I continued down past an overhang, and the walls retreated away from me into the gloom. Familiar claustrophobia made way for a panic I had never felt before and have never felt since. I should have been in a place hewn by mortal hands, but I felt as if I had entered into somewhere beyond creation.

The edges of the world stretch into the sun & the moon. The dark flower blooms in the sky. These places are alien and impossible to reach, but they are still a part of the world. I was somewhere else.

A deep breath in & out again steadied my spiraling mind, and I cursed myself for bringing my father's lamp. It was a dim thing meant for mining coal, but less bright and equally less useful in a mine like this.

Until the captive flame flared against its wire prison. It became brighter than any lamp has a right to be, but still failed to illuminate the walls where they should have been.

Dangling over oblivion and having just been spared a firey death, I signaled to be hoisted up as panic set in again.

As soon as I passed the overhang, I climbed up the next score of cubits in height just as fast as they could reel in the rope. After that, I had a very long ascent to regain my composure and try to rationalize what I'd just experienced. I eventually settled on the idea that my senses had momentarily left me as a result of stress.

Hi I'm making another long post talking whatever bullshit that comes to my mind because I'm insane I guess, this time it's music because I love music. I wanna say before hand, I have 0 knowledge in music so a lot of what I'm gonna describe is just my feelings

You also don't have to read through all of this, you can just listen to the music I've linked and that's enough for me :+]

Anyways I'm gonna be talking about JP songs from the early 2000s or late 1990s (Y2K?) that have this poppy, girly type energy. I'm mostly gonna talk about Serani Poji but I'll talk about other's that I've found too.

Ok so I learned that Serani Poji was originally created for SEGA's (I don't know how they keep finding banger musicians) video game called ROOMMANIA #203, which is crazy because I thought they were kind of an indie group like CAPSULE (I don't even know if that's true) or something. Anyways, a lot, if not all, of Serani Poji's songs were put in their later albums (I believe they're all in Manamoon? But there could be other albums too)

Manamoon by Serani Poji

What a banger debut album. To be honest, I think the only songs I really dislike is Manamoon, but the other songs really make up for it. Like "Octopus Daughter" and "Which one of the twins ?" are so fucking GOOD. And I think "Spiral Da-Hi!" is a perfect representation of what I imagine the idealization of the future would be like? If that makes sense??? Basically like The Jetsons. Also I really like this album cover art, speaks a lot of it's era. It's other album cover is nice too I think, I know it's very simple but it takes a surprisingly a lot of thought to think about the composition/placement of text and what colors to pick and the sizes (curse you Graphic Design class)

I'll talk about One-Room Survival for a bit, I think it's their most popular album? Though, I think that's mainly because of "Pipo Pipo".

One-Room Survival by Serani Poji

I think I like this album more than Manamoon? Or at least I think a lot of the songs here are more memorable/addicting to me (but that also may be because I spent more time listening to this album, I only listened to Serani Poji's other albums recently). "One-Room Survival" and "Where is Smiley?" are probably one of my most favorite songs in this album, especially the latter because I love humming the chorus (where is my friend Smiley????? !!!!!). Lovelabor is also really good, I love Bossa Nova type of music. Also I think this is my favorite album art out of all of Serani Poji's Discography? Maybe it's on par with Manamoons because I like it too, but something like this album in it's simplicity is really nice, and a lot of the songs kind of fit it too to be honest. Merry Go Round Jailhouse's album cover is cute too! I think they're all nice in their own way.

Uhmmm I'll talk about Ochamekan briefly since I haven't spent that much time with it

Ok admittedly I haven't heard all of the songs, but I do know that one of my favorite songs #2 Earthling Body(?)/Earth Human Body(??)/地球人のカラダ is in this album. #5 Coffee Shop at Night/夜の喫茶店 is also a really good song by virtue of it being kinda Bossa Nova (or maybe I'm just guessing that genre wrong,,,). Also I think this cover art is very cute!!! Actual blorbo

Ok that ends the Serani Poji section, I'll talk about the other albums I found and maybe mention at least 1 CAPSULE album since I've already talked about them before.

FAKEVOX by Plus-Tech Squeeze Box

I love this album art JHNGFDJKNGDFB ANYWAYS this entire album is a lot more... Hyper? Energetic! Upbeat!! compared to the other albums I mentioned. It leans more to like, Cutie Cinema Replay/Nexus-2060 by CAPSULE. Anyways I think #2 Early Riser is such a fun song, I'd love to make an animatic or animation with it. #7 ☆ is also one of my favorites, it's very cute! The ending song "Clover" Is another favorite, I've listened to it probably the most or just as much as "Early Riser", it's very sweet and nice to listen to while doing chores.

SUPER MIRACLE CIRCUIT by Sonic Coaster Pop

THIS IS THE ALBUM I'VE BEEN MOST EXCITED TO TALK ABOUT. I think out of the album cover art in this post, this has to be my very top (even though you can count every pixel on here). I don't know if this counts because I only started recently liking it, but I really like this type of Y2K visuals and music? IT'S FUN IT'S CUTE IT'S EVERYTHING!! Anyways, I LOVE how all the songs transition to the next one so smoothly. My absolute favorite song here is #3 Super Speed POP☆STAR. Definitely the most listened song on this post, I'd love to make a character design based on this song!!

The songs are pretty long but that's ok, It really helps with the transitions! Also surprisingly, Plus-Tech Squeeze Box has made a remix for them! I think I prefer the original but I love the title "go go EGG mix", that's so fucking silly behavior, let's be whimsical!!

OK so a break, I'll be talking about 2 more albums which are personal favorites. The ones above are a lot more recent albums I've listened to (excluding One-Room Survival) but these last 2 are ones I've had a lot more time with.

Second last album I'll talk about is from CAPSULE, which is the only band here that still makes music to this day I believe? Which makes me really sad, but it makes a lot of the albums here valuable/important, as they're a really good product of their time.

Capsule – L.D.K. Lounge Designers Killer

A Flying City Plan(?)/空飛ぶ都市計画 is such a great starting song. I really wanted to use it for my Frye Splatfest art for Team Aliens, but I went with the Nexus-2060 song "Space Station No. 9" since I think it and the album itself fit more with the "aliens" theme. Anyways, I believe this album is the most latest one on this post? That's ok, I'll give a pass to CAPSULE any time of my life. A lot of the songs here are more chill, very loungy LOL

Also same as always, I love all of the songs in here, I mean it's CAPSULE. It'd be easier to say which songs are the weaker ones for me, which is #3 Lounge Designers Killer (how come the title tracks are the ones to kinda fall off...), and #4 Twinkle Twinkle Poppp! But not because it's a bad song, I just think it's kind of out of place in this album?? Whatever I still like it, anyways #5 TIC TAC and #1 A Flying City Plan are my most favorite songs in this album. Also the little ending song is very sweet :+] <3

LAST THING TO SAY ABOUT THIS ALBUM, #9 do do pi do reminds me. A lot of Tunak Tunak Tun. and it's driving me kind of crazy because I don't know if anyone else also hears it.

Last album is an album I've listened to the most and one I've heard since I was 12. Maybe my most favorite album ever??

NAGISA COSMETIC by NAGISA COSMETIC

I am so... Distraught that they only released one album, because I think they've captured cuteness so perfectly?? NAGISA COSMETIC is a duo consisting of a model and designer, Ichikawa Nagisa and the other half of CAPSULE, producer Nakata Yasutaka. I can't express how much this album means so much to me, like I made my first animation to one of the songs here (#6 retort). I LOVE THIS ALBUMMMMMMMMM, and how I found it was through... OSU 😭 whoever mapped Cosmetic Happy, I love you, you changed my life.

every fauna and flora on the planet will be capable of killing you. there is no animal on kariio that wouldn't be willing and wanting to eat you.

when it isn't storming or snowing and the sky is actually clear, the suns will reflect off the snow SO BRIGHTLY that you'll probably just go blind if you go outside without eye protection.

when the two moons align, the pull of the tides becomes so strong it can break the crust of the ice that forms over the ocean during the cold season. however, the ice sheet of Xaozakon (The Sanguine Sea, the eastern sea) is a lot thicker and just generally bigger so it won't happen as severely as it does in Vekelera, (The Shattered Sea, the west sea) where the ice sheet re-shatters every time

areas with thicker sheets of permaice will have the frozen bodies of kariians past encased within, making the area where they're visible a macabre sort of natural museum. some of the kariians here are kariians that have long since evolved and no longer exist outside of their ice prisons.

in the Gnar-Vatash, this is done to enemies on purpose. basically the equiv of having a bunch of enemies impaled on spikes (which also happens here! on ice spikes) in front of your castle to ward off enemies.

the entire world is mildly radioactive. in conjunction with the storms, which are frequently geomagnetic, a lot of conventional tech will just not work here, especially things navigation-related.

because of the radiation and the bio-modifications done by the Zehen-Khasiik, all the life on Kariio evolves/mutates at an accelerated rate. evolution can happen over the course of a single lifetime because of how unpredictable and wild kariian DNA is now. even if you are not kariian and you only visit the planet, if you don't die because of a weak resistance to radiation (not even including the cold), you might mutate a bit.

gigantic ice-worms that tunnel through the rock of the underground. frequently kariians will repurpose the tunnels these ice-worms make for their own gain. they use a certain frequently of vibration to keep them from disrupting their settlements.

some of these ice-worms have been "domesticated" and lightly modified, and Zehen-Khasiik and Vedex-Zekhurr (underground variant of the Zehen-Khasiik) will climb inside them, willingly letting the worm 'eat' them, and then proceed to use the worm as a means of transportation from one place to another. like a fucked up train but it's alive and the train car is its insides. this is in large part because tech is not reliable due to planetary interference, not the way an animal that evolved to adapt to it is. they will use tech to make the worms regurgitate them back up though.

fungi that will give you the worst trip of your fucking life if you eat even a tiny little bit of it without cooking it properly. will make any shroom on Earth seem pathetic by comparison. in combination with Kariio, it's pretty easy to get yourself killed if you're tripping.

This was honestly such a headache. Oliver’s sired way too many kids with too many different women. As usual, color-coded to make it easier to see who exists within the same continuity; if it’s just black that means their existence is consistent, but if it specifies [Prime Earth] then that means the character was only introduce into the comics during the Prime Earth era (same goes for New Earth).

Colors, as following (though you’ll also see on the tree since I specify each continuity/Earth):

While I try not to double-portray - since most different versions of a character still align - the fact that Arrow already used Shado in another capacity and thus made Kazumi Adachi Emiko’s mother made me double on that, though I still think that she can be considered a version of comic!Shado.

Also, because this part looks messy even to me, regarding the Black Canaries. Dinah Laurel’s last name is usually Lance, these days Drake Lance (with the Lance being married-into for some reason), but in the BoP TV show, her last name was Redmond. Likewise, her mother’s name in the BoP TV show was Carolyn Lance, while New Earth’s continuity named her Dinah Drake and Prime Earth has, far as I could find out, not given her any name at all yet.

And though the YJ cartoon doesn’t come up otherwise, I did find it noteworthy that Bernell was confirmed to be Cissie’s father in the show, since her parentage appears to not have been brought up or confirmed either way in the Prime Earth era so far.
