#Eda was working on the new portal to the human realm. Amity wanted her to succeed so 'keep her out of trouble' was mostly ignored.

Headcanons: The Owl House

In no particular order:

Luz and Camila took Amity, Hunter, Gus and Willow to Comic Con dressed like characters from Cosmic Frontier. They actually got to meet the creator(s) of Cosmic Frontier, who were very bemused by Gus and Hunter asking a multitude of questions and Gus’ warning about the giraffes. Luz and Amity got to hang out with fans of The Good Witch Azura.

After the Collector installed the new portal door, Jacob Hopkins managed to get out of jail and attempted to sneak into the house. The last anyone heard from Jacob, he was trying to set up an online fundraiser to get home from Mars (when he really was sent to a place called Quinhagak, Alaska.)

Months after Belos fell, Alador and Odalia divorced. Odalia tried to revive their original arms business, but it fell flat. Amity, Edric and Emira never spoke to her again.

Masha learned the truth about Vee and the Demon Realm. In fact, they’re one of the first humans to attend Gus’ Human Student Exchange Program.

Some sketchy ex-Coven Heads (the Potions Head, Terra, & Adrian) and Kikimora attempted to take over the Boiling Isles and replace the vacancy left by Belos. This was quickly thwarted by the B.A.T.T.s C.A.T.T.s and the Hexside squad and a thorough investigation and trial took place. Unsurprisingly, Odalia was also implicated in the plot because of the subpar Abomotons that were used. The plotters and Odalia were banished from the Boiling Isles and sent to Titan Trapper Island to live out their sentence. Kikimora worked out a plea deal and that’s how she was found working with Matt Tholomule to rebuild Bonesborough.

Eda and her dad have a better relationship these days, to Gwendolyn’s delight. Dell and Gwendolyn have also doted on King and Hunter. In fact, Eda was the one who introduced Hunter to Dell after Luz mentioned that Hunter wanted to learn how to carve Palismen.

A delegation was sent to Titan Trapper Island, and Bill is no longer the leader there. Tarak was appointed as the new leader and he promised that he and his people will not to go after the last Titan (King). It also helped that The Collector was included in that delegation to seal the deal and promised to build a portal between the two islands if the Titan Trappers behaved...and changed their way of dressing and the name of their island.

Lilith unlocked her harpy form the same way Eda did: with cookies made by Hooty. However, it wasn’t as “smooth” as Eda’s transformation, but with the help from Eda, Gwendolyn, and Camila, she was able to take control of her transformations. Hooty was also temporarily banned from the kitchen. Right after she managed this, Lilith showed off her transformation in front of Flora.

Luz told Eda what Papa Titan told her, and Eda felt honored. Though Eda was a bit offended about the Titan questioning her homemade apple blood recipe.

The Therapy Coven had never been busy after the fall of Belos. Hunter and Raine in particular spent some time with them because of the shared trauma of possession by Belos.

Hunter elected to stay with Darius, though he's always welcome with the Nocedas back in the Human Realm, with the Parks, the Blights (minus Odalia), Eda, and the senior Clawthornes.

Willow introduced Hunter to her dads after Hunter finished gushing about sewing and wolves with Darius and Eberwolf.

Boscha peaked in high school.

The Bat Queen sensed that there was something about Hunter, and Hunter told her about Flapjack’s sacrifice. After that talk, Hunter also became welcome in The Bat Queen’s forest.

Luz and Amity got more “mundane, slice-of-life dates”, both in the human realm and the demon realm.

The Collector visits King from time to time, and the Hexside squad learned to relax around them and teach them about how to approach people and play other games.

There was an attempt to introduce Camila to the food in the Boiling Isles. Suffice to say, she was only able to eat griffin eggs like Luz, though she found the animals there quite fascinating.

Viney and Jerbo eventually became friends again, to Barkus’ relief. (Barkus knew they would become friends, it was a matter of when.)

Principal Bump officially retired as Principal the following year. That was not the end of his love of education because he spent the next year to reach out to Glandus and St. Epiderm about revising their curriculum and offering multiple magic tracks.

Heyyy, I rewatched the entire series again, even looking over the dumb, boring unfilling episodes.  Looking  back there are soooo many loose  plot threads like Amity being Lilith protégé,  Lilith's scrying portal (which Belos was implied to be able to see back through), Lilith’s “ go back to your world” speech, Hunter being tasked to spy on the Owl Family, Luz’s witch's cloak, anything with elves etc.  Anyway I’m still confused about LOTTT of stuff. I'm just a little guy, if people don't slowly and patiently directly explain to me what things mean I will spend almost the entirety of a series completely misunderstanding important lore and only getting it around the climax. If anyone has answers that’s goooodddd.  I’m kindaa having an episode of my own right now hahahhah.

1)How were the Hexsquad students  able to overpower the fully trained Emperor's Coven scouts, scouts part one of one the, if  not the strongest coven who’s had way more years of experience and training ?

2)How and why was the cursed Owl Beast scroll dropped? What exactly did Covenheads  think was going to happen during the Day of Unity, especially regarding the human realm? What about Odalia, who knew for a fact that the draining spell was a thing that would hurt people? She expected for her family be "made royalty in the new world" but what would that new world be? What about Kimikora’s who’s apparently been spying on Belos for a while, enough to know about the Golden Guards, the Collector, and the draining spell? She  still wanted to impress the Emperor, even knowing he intended to kill everyone including her?

3) Why didn’t Belos try to present his own POV of events in Hollow Mind? Why did he let Hunter and Luz walk around and make their own conclusions?

4)What are the  “Inner Willow” and “ Inner  Belos”?  Are they separate from their outer counterparts?

5) What does Belos think the  Grimwalkers are? Does he think they’re reincarnations of  Caleb or copies of Caleb or separate people made from the same stuff of Caleb or empty vessels that Caleb can communicate through?

6)Why did Belos put a coven patch onto Hunter if he expected him to  become Caleb?

7)I still don't understand at all how draining spell works, I think people have to be branded with coven symbols to work but then what about Hooty and all the general Isles wildlife?

8)What age was Hunter created as? He grew up “naturally” right? He went through the growth stages a typical witch or human would despite not being either, right?

9)What are demonics?  How separate are witches and demons? How are demons generally treated in society?

8)Eda just stumbled upon door just like that? That easy? Why was it there? How did she know how to use it?

9) Why do some witches have less human features than others ( such as a horn or an extra eye)?

10) How did Belos bring back Basilisks?  Like, I’m sure the Collector helped… but how?

11) Literally anything about the Collector’s powers, both trapped and freed?

12) Did Philip know  Luzura the Crab Maiden was human?

13) Why didn’t take Lilith and Luz try to take the Collector’s disc away  from Philip? He just tried to sacrificed them and it’s implied to them he did it before.

14) Isn't it  implied through the Owl Beast’s flashback that there’s landmasses outside of the  Boiling Isles? Are any of the characters ( besides possibly Eda) aware of this?

15) Why didn’t Belos stay  until the Draining Spell entirely finished? He has all the reasons to stay in the Boiling Isles and ensure his genocide concludes as planned, especially since he could easily collect palismen from all the dead witches.

16)Lilith was Belos’s left hand, even without magic wouldn’t she at least have political and cultural knowledge of the Isles?  Her naivety really offput me honestly.

Some random Owl House post-ending headcanons:

The demon realm side of the new portal door functions like the door in Howl’s Moving Castle (by Luz’s request)

When the Collector starts regularly visiting the Boiling Isles, Willow and the other Emerald Entrails end up being some of his favorite playmates. Their lil PVP Enabled Gamer Zone pocket dimension(?) is a great place for exciting chases or obstacle courses. Willow would honestly enjoy it if he pushed it a little farther, but everyone has agreed to consistently reinforce the Collector being gentle with mortals.

Adrian genuinely tried to be like “well, now that everything is going back to normal, Augustus can return the magic amplifier to its rightful owner: me.” Somehow this did not work.

The Boiling Isles has to have their own little “this place is not a place of honor” brainstorming session to figure out how to keep people out of the Crown (the eventual popular name for the Archive House) without accidentally making it sound too awesome. True there are legitimately powerful artifacts or informative texts left over but also there are a bunch of random bottomless pits and spacetime anomalies.

Luz has an almost supernatural ability to locate wild animals, animal remains, and things like cicada shells or shed snakeskin almost every time she’s outside for more than ten minutes. She couldn’t do that on the Boiling Isles at first because it was too dangerous and unfamiliar. But Isles wilderness actually gets moderately less dangerous without a colonialist in charge, as habitats recover and the “normal” food chain balances out, and Luz starts forming that connection with Isles wildlife.

Eda + the former CATTs + the Hexsquad parents figured out some method of discreetly converting Isles wealth into Earth currency so Camila could make occasional Costco runs to pick up bulk supplies to tide over the hardest-hit areas of the Isles. (Eda voice: are you sure you don’t want to just steal?) Camila was willing to eat the cost herself - it’s a lot but c’mon they had two apocalypses, she can’t not help - and all the people whose children she sheltered and treated like her own for months were like NO!!!

Camila + Luz + Eda + King + Amity made the first trip back to the human realm through the Collector’s portal. Camila had to check on Vee and get back to work, Luz and Amity packed up the stuff the Hexsquad requested that they wanted to bring home with them to the Isles, Amity and Eda and King didn’t want to be away from Luz, and Eda and King wanted to see the house where Luz grew up.

Okay let me actually write about this a little bit cause it will probably come up in my writing. Some headcannons for post cannon:

Luz + Hunter spend the week in the Boiling isles and the weekend in Gravesfield. They both want to go to Hexside, which would require them being there during the week, but also have some sort of attachment to the human realm, so they wouldn’t avoid it completely.

There are probably days will Luz spends the day in the BI and then goes back to the HR at night, days that Camila comes and stays in the BI for the night as well (or the day if she has a day off). Camila wouldn’t always be in the BI on a day off or every night Luz is there because of Vee, who seems like she wants to stay in Gravesfield for the time being. This schedule is probably a big fluid, especially because Luz will probably have a working portal at the end (she has a key in Dana’s Nucleus gallery art)

Hunter stays at the Deamonne during the week, and the Noceda’s during the weekend with Luz. He was really happy in Gravesfield, but doesn’t seem to want to completely leave the Boiling Isles. He also probably has plenty of sleepovers at a friend’s house (also befriending King and Hooty). Best of both dadrius and Hunter Noceda

Eda starts teaching more people about wild magic. Maybe she teaches at Hexside, maybe she runs a camp at Knee, idk. Something where she teaches the next generation about wild magic (I really want to write about this but I’m still working it out)

Raine takes a pretty large role in reshaping the government. They are far to deep in now to stop. They tried to get Eda in too, but she said no. They also teach a free music class on the weekends to anyone who wants to take it (all ages). A lot of people do.

Darius (and maybe Eberwolf) also play a big part in the new government. Someone has to create a new system, and Darius has the public speaking abilities that Raine and Eber don’t. Hunter gives him books on government systems from the Human Realm (since Belos probably destroyed all remnants of previous governments), which he uses to help create something for the BI

Lilith becomes one of the lead historians, trying to correct the history of the BI from Belos’ lies. She also possibly mentors Hunter down the road (I think he may end up doing the same, or at least dabbling in it down the road). She refuses to take a large role in the government though because of her time as head of the Emperor’s Coven, and her realization that she was an ineffective leader and a figure head. She really likes her work in history, and writes a bunch of books about various topics, including Deadwardian life and architecture

Willow plays professional Flyer Derby, becoming one of the most popular players in the BI.

Gus becomes the ambassador to the Human Realm. He does not reestablish connection with the giraffes

Amity is unsure of what she wants to do in the future, so for now she just spends time with her friends. Maybe she opens a bookstore, or goes into engineering, who knows (she certainly doesn’t)

First of all kudos to Dana Terrace and the animation team. Sooooo many amazing moments, its no wonder she had to take a break. Given the crunch time Disney put her on, she had to work SO hard to get what she wanted/or needed to make this finale great! Just everything was perfect! I was on the edge of my seat and all I wanted was for Luz and everyone to be okay (except maybe Belos... screw you Philip 8B)

Anything that surprised me... I guess that someone was right that it was a titan in that realm Luz saw. I also admit was somewhat surprised the Collector didn’t really know about what happened in regards to King’s species. Though it makes me wonder... what happened to their siblings. They mentioned them when Luz died... so ... what became of them...

Though speaking of Luz’s death... why did she die when touched by whatever that attack was by Belos? Buttt... not Raine? I mean granted he used it as an attack but the attack/fungi whatever was affecting Collector and they were genuinely worried for Eda when it spread. I mean I’m not complaining I wanted Raine to live for Eda. But I’m... “how come Raine wasn’t affected?” Raine was just put under restraint?oO

I admit Luz’s death really got me. On so many levels for her heart. And the irony, cause the Collector was only trying to do what she advised him on. (no not blaming him just saying big picture cruel irony). But also dang was somewhat impressed when Eda and King went beast mode on Belos for that.

And just random was also impressed that Amity was able to wake up/or fight that toy spell the Collector put on them. I dunno just did pointed out that Amity is stronger than she’s given credit as a witch. Luz’s ultimate titan magic/witch mode was both beautiful and AWESOME! Just fantastic design.

Loved King’s dad, lol. Feel like in another life King’s dad could had been roomies with Eda. LOVEDDDD the epilogue, just was glad to see Luz did finish school and got a writers scholarship :). Though.. seeing that Hooty photo... does that mean the human world knows about the demon realm? Or did they just do more visits now that the portal’s fixed. Also Hooty anime eyes so cute:3!

Also was happy that she and Vee graduated together. Because that meant Camila adopted Vee and loved her just like her own child. And omg they had a photo of Stringbean in a cute pet hat XD! Classic... though who was Vee playing baseball/or softball with... Masha? Loved everyone’s grown designs:). And the Flapjack tattoos so sweet:3 !

Sooo happy for Hunter that he’s got a happy ending. And I assume a family with both Darius and the Clawthorne’s. NO ONE will not convince me he’s become part of both families. And his new Palisman is a bluejay, sweet! Uhh thought it was funny/cute Lilith considered putting a disco room? (that corner was hard to read). That we also got to see her Raven harpy design? (she is a raven right?oO). 

Also loveedddd her quinceanera party they did. A very Owl House style Cinderella dress complete with that adorable mouse XD. Loved how the Bat Queen has one of her kids going emo/goth?.  Was I shocked the magic was returning/glyph wise... no. Not really magic’s not exactly nature. But it makes me think of that Jurassic Park quote “life finds a way”.

Also HUNTLOWWWWWWWWWW!! Haha sorry/not sorry.

That being said did I see anything I wanted done differently or wished could had been changed. Don’t get pissed I LOVED the finale. But I can admit it was rushed. But I’m also noting that I AM NOT blaming Dana Terrace or the crew/staff... who do I blame? YOU DISNEY! I FUCKING BLAME YOU!! AND I WILL CONTINUE TO BLAME YOU UNLESS YOU DO RIGHT BY THE CREATOR/AND STAFF.

Moving onnn... I’m just gonna say what I wish could had been done. Again I do not blame Dana Terrace. I know Disney did her an EXTREME wrong and she was not even given a PROPER third season. Unlike her other tv shows... like Big City Greens.. who got a fourth season and a movie >3>. I know she was crunched for time and was just dealing the hand that was given to her.

So to start....

I’m gonna bite the bullet and I admit the finale instantly made me wanna see ships explored/or finished.

Like Alador’s marriage... we never saw Odalia so I’m gonna assume he divorced her. And its clear the children have nothing to do with her but still wanted some clarity.

Also... was there suppose to be a hint of Darius/Alador.... I dunno. Felt like there was. I’m not against the idea. Could have gone with the flow that they were rivals/with chemistry. Plus heyyy new stepdad for Hunter.

Also... whats Steve’s relationship with Lilith? No not like ship... I think he’s too young(ages aren’t my strongest suit unless clarified better). Was he suppose to be her Luz?oO

Kinda wish The Blight twins could had been explored... would had like to had known Ed’s date who were theyyy...

Also what was Viney/Jerbo’s relationship. I don’t even care if they weren’t dating. Just was dying to know the story of why she was so pissed at him to call him traitor once oO

And hate to be the dummy but did Eda/Raine get married? oO I didn’t see a ring.. or do they do something else for Demon World?

Would Gus had found an love interest? Or Vee? Or Lilith... again I’m biting the bullet ship idea wise. Or were Gus and Lilith suppose to be asexuals? (will get to Vee later)

Wish we could had known MORE about the Coven Heads. We got a little but not much. I don’t even know why Vitmir wanted the throne? I guess I get why with Terra and Adrian dude.

We also don’t know what became of the rest of the Coven

How did Kikimora go from hating the group to putting her feelings aside and helping Lilith?

What became of the Bat Queen and the palisman during Collector’s brief reign. I never saw them turned into toys...also would Luz ever find her owner. Part of me almost wonders if it was originally the Titan(aka King’s dad)

Speaking of which wish he and King could had met.

In addition... IS NO ONE GONNA TALK ABOUT HOW A HOOTY THING IS IN HIS EYE?!!Was that suppose to hint he made Hooty? Was Hooty there for him to guard King?

What became of Collector’s family? Are they the reason that Owl curse got spread.... What was that final print in Collector’s book... felt like they avoided that for a reason would it had summoned them? Or caused more harm?

Also why haven’t Eda/Lilith been free of the curse? I assume since Alador is finding a way to undo the draining spell, that means its possible for them to be free as well.

Anything else...

I admit I wanted to know more of what became of Caleb... Yes I know the rumor was Dana Terrace wanted to do a prequel going into his and Philip’s background... but Disney is a moneygrubbing little worm.... so unless they think they’ll make more money out of that.... I’m not holding my breath. Would have liked to know what became of his wife/girlfriend Evelyn? Were fans right is she the ancestor of Eda’s family. 

And I’ll address an elephant in the room... Philip himself. I do feel his ending was a bit rushed for the finale. Yes he gave us a fight but his literal end felt... sorry “Starvstheforcesofevil/ Ludo” set. Kinda mooted if you get my drift..... what would I had wanted? 

I admit I dunno... Unlike some of the fandom I have mixed feelings with Belos/Philip. On one hand he’s an amazing/ EVIL villain. On the other hand... I don’t have a lot of sympathy for him. I had more for the Collector. Now again this could had been because Terrace had more planned and that was crushed due to Disney. Its just I dunno how to explain it... I did see the possiblity of a “oh redeemable villain” it was done with Andrias from Amphibia... but Andrias had more hesitation even in his actions.... Belos didn’t really have that. We weren’t given a Darth Vader ending where he regrets or we see his “spirit”. And while I do think even if she wanted a prequel... I don’t think she was mincing words with us as fans. When she had King’s father call him out on his behavior. We can see what triggered/pushed him all we want. But at the end of the day, Philip gave up his humanity. 

He quit caring, he may have been innocent once. But he threw it away for Christian radicalism, angry that his brother wasn’t following the script, and was willing to commit MASS genocide for it. At most I think those visions of his brother and the golden guards were the closest he had to coming to terms with his past and chose to ignore it. I dunno what I would have liked for his ending... maybe see that his plans would always fail? Maybe see a spirit of Caleb call him out one more time? Or I dunno something other than a simple stomp 8B. I dunno at most all I can say... would have LOVED to see Camila hit him for hurting her child.

Also... I do wish if the series had continued Vee could have been involved more. I feel like from that tarot card reading from Masha. That it wasn’t just aimed at Luz, I feel like the story hinted she would be involved with this story/fight against Belos.

see Vee/Masha end up together. Sorry/not sorry but they felt like role reverse Amity/Luz.

Wish Luz could have made friends with more humans, feel like due to the obvious storyline she wasn’t given a chance to bond with the new kids/or Masha’s camp friends and they felt like they were important. Heck they could have helped her. I think but thats my opinion.

I WANTED A HUNTLOW KISS!!! buttt I’ve learned from anime it isn’t all about the kissing. Just acknowledging can be enough. I think thats why we didn’t see Raeda kiss... or did I miss that?oO

ive got more headcanons and fic ideas for the owl house, prepare ye selves:

1. post escaping to the human realm, Hunter grows soft. as in, he starts gaining some weight bc I refuse to believe that this boy had a good diet in the isles, bc one, since he’s already part human as a grimwalker and it’s already in canon that Luz can’t consume everything in the boiling isles, he hasn’t been able to eat everything. two, this boy clearly lives on snack foods bc it’s readily available and quick if he’s working all the time and I don’t think he’s had home cooking. Camila automatically wants to feed this boy, and he eats all of her cooking, puritan spice intolerance be damned or whatever. he is gonna get all the food and he is gonna like it. so yeah he starts gaining a bit of weight, so he’s a bit more solid and he has more energy and he might be a little bit convinced that Camila is magic bc her food is so good. he says this to her while helping her in the kitchen once and she has to turn away bc she’s so moved she starts tearing up.

2. Amity gets into legos. Like really into legos. Luz has some old sets from her childhood and when Amity finds them she is absolutely sold that this is the best toy ever. Since she can’t really create abominations in the human realm bc suspicious, she turns to the Lego sets to get some of her more restless energy out. It gives her something to focus on, and she likes to create really elaborate scenes from the boiling isles; Luz is absolutely sold on getting her a large deluxe set at some point.

3. Gus becomes tiktok famous. No really. As a joke, Luz lends him her phone and teaches him about social media and he starts a series of “Reacting to Human Tech”. followers obvs think it’s a skit and he’s playing a character of course, but his endless enthusiasm and boundless energy earn him a nice decent sized following and starts earning money channeled into Luz’s account into Gus’s hands. people are so charmed by this 13 year old screaming at a toaster when bread pops out. it becomes a popular meme.

4. Willow throws herself into gardening and working out. She loves that the weather is much less dangerous to plans in the human realm, and Camila gave her lots of room to experiment. Once Luz shows her the gardening center and gardening section at the library, it’s all over. Willow successfully cross-breeds a Carolina reaper with cinnamon, dont ask me how she did it, but she did. Hunter tries the cinna-reaper hybrid and Gus got his video trending and a ton of new followers so. Thank you Willow and Hunter.

5. post-series finale **starts crying**, Luz has a portable portal that she uses to travel back and forth the human realm and the demon realm. She actually takes Camila there to give a tour of the world she loves, and doesn’t hold back on the less savory stuff. Initially Camila was super hesitant, but she has never seen her daughter so happy and vibrant, and sees the love Eda and King clearly have for Luz. she agrees to Luz traveling back and forth, and Eda and Camila are so proud of how far Luz has come. Eda visits a lot the human realm a lot too, and she and Camila bond over telenovelas. Luz loves her two moms very much.

6. Hunter becomes Eda’s apprentice in palisman carving, also receiving tutelage from her father Dell. i feel like this is a pretty popular headcanon bc family bonding and also shows growth from how he regretted trying to get those palisman for Belos to actually help create new ones as part of his new life away from the EC.

7. after much needed therapy and plenty of support, Vee is able to make a trip back to the boiling isles. granted she is still in disguise bc basilisks are still considered dangerous by most of the populace, but she’s able to get her magic restored a lot easier now. the rest of the basilisks are freed to be integrated back into the boiling isles, and she guides them towards consuming magic from other sources and not witches.

8. back to Willow working out in the human realm, she goes absolute beast mode at the local gym. my personal headcanon is that witches are just sturdier and denser than humans bc of the environment they live in, so when Willow starts pumping iron, she attracts a lot of attention at the gym. Willow has a lot of gym bros, and I can’t get the image of these big buff dudes circling around a short Willow in awe and asking her about her technique and routine. nobody messes with Willow at the gym bc jerks will fear the gym bros. oh no dude, the one who absolutely have to fear is this 5’3” flower child with a sunshine smile who can and will absolutely thrash you if you disturb anyone else working out. Willow has a lot of admirers. Also there’s that weird blond gremlin guy who she walks home with like an angry chihuahua. dude has red eyes. he’s awful too.

9. Alador and Darius rekindle their friendship from school, which slowly grows into them dating. granted, Darius will still rib Alador, calling him a hack, which makes strangers think that he hates him, but no, that’s his partner. that’s how they show affection.

10. Luz becomes a pretty accomplished illustrator/artist for young adult fantasy novels. nobody knows where she gets her inspirations from, but she paints landscapes of the boiling isles ALL THE TIME.

Before she leaves (pun unintended, but hilarious nonetheless), Terra says that the Emperor is looking froward to meeting Luz.

Last they met, Luz challenged Belos to a fight. She lost, but did manage to get a good hit in, damaging his mask. He says he likes her spirit, clearly impressed. Then, when Luz gets one up on him by blowing up the portal, he lets her go, even though he probably could stop her.

Before that and after that, Belos has actually never really gone after Luz. He hasn't sent any minions or the Golden Guard for her. in season one, he was after Eda because she had the portal and it was only when he realized she would never give it to him that he went after Luz. Now that he has the portal, he doesn’t really need her. I speculated he was gonna try and take the key from her, but Hunter took care of that himself (assuming the key still works after Amity cracked it… there was still some Titan’s Blood in it). But now, Luz is, by every indication, completely useless to him.

I think that what’s going on here is that Belos is amused by Luz antics. And maybe, since he is actually Philip Wittebane, a human from the Human Realm who came to the Demon Realm and went on adventures, he sees something of himself in her. He admires her spirit, for it is much like his own.

This sounds like an invitation to me. Like he’s inviting her to witness the Day of Unity or something. And you know, I did bring it up earlier… for Luz, having the Demon Realm and the Human Realm become one might seem like a good idea… it probably would not be a good idea to merge the realms, for a multitude of reasons, but it might seem like a good idea to Luz. A world where she can have both her mom and all of the adventure, friends and awesome girlfriend… sounds pretty sweet.

”You don’t have to do it, Luz. Just do nothing. Just do nothing for a little while longer and I can give you a whole new world. You can bring your friends too. Think about it. Think about it a little longer. And then you won't even have to make the decision.” -Emperor Belos, potentially, when Luz & Gang shows up to stop the Day of Unity (from The Key, the third book of the Engelsfors Trilogy, the Demons tempting Minoo)

This scene is so sweet. I love how understanding Amity is of Luz’ difficulties. She doesn’t judge or resent her for lying. She just wants to know the truth, so she can be there for her and maybe try to help.

Luz is uncertain of what to do, what her future holds, how things are going to turn out, what it is that she really wants. she is cloven between the Human Realm and Demon Realm. She wants to go home to her mom, she really does. But if she goes home, is she going to lose everything she has gained since? A new family, a new home, friends and love… adventure, magic and freedom to be herself.

It’s complicated and I can’t claim to know the answers.

The music in the background is nice too.

This is such a nice way to end the episode.

Is what I would say if there weren’t two minutes left.

And now this guy’s here! What is it you have to say, Belos? Is it time to announce the date of the Day of Unity?

Called it. The Day of Unity is in one month’s time. The tide will be at its lowest and the moon will obscure the sun. All witches shall journey to the head of the Titan and ”the worthy” will inherit a ”utopia” free of wild magic.

Lot’s of stuff going on.

He doesn’t mention the whole ”merging the realms together” thing. Maybe because he figures that some people will realize that’s maybe not a great idea.

The Day of Unity will take place during an eclipse. This brings to mind Eclipse Lake. Is there some correlation between eclipses and travel between worlds? I also wonder if the low tide is important? If they’re going to transport the body of the Titan, then maybe it’s a good idea to do so when the tide is low so they don’t bring the entire ocean of boiling water with on the trip.

All the witches are to journey to the head of the Titan. So the portal is likely set up there and Belos needs to bring all the witches there to gather enough magic. Maybe with the help from what he learned from the basilisks he studied.

Some more details I noticed during the announcement.

The Head of the Illusion Coven is in Latissa, showing the same projection. So the parade is something happening in several cities. Gwendoly and Lilith are watching the announcement on a crystal ball. Hey, Lulu, you wanna get involved in the plot any time soon? Maybe use some of that insider information you’re bound to have had worked for the Emperor’s Coven, for what… some thirty years, give or take?

You’re gonna take off your mask now? B-but…

I swear if this is the moment Luz figures out his true identity, I will-

I love this ending. Our heroes wonder what they’re gonna do, what they even can do. And meanwhile, fireworks are going off and the crowd is chanting Belos’ name. It’s very somber and foreboding.

I’m not gonna lie, I was kinda half-expecting there to be some kind of trick, some illusory editing going on. But no, as far as i can tell, Belos really did unmask himself. Because he felt so supported by the people he’s oppressing and forcing to be a part of his mad scheme and that they will not judge him for his scars. How touching. 

I realized there might be another meaning to Belos’ message to Luz about wanting to meet her. He might’ve meant that he’s looking forward to meeting her face-to-face. Not as Belos, the Emperor of the Boiling Isles and the Titan’s prophet, but as Philip.

Oh wait, there’s new art in the outro! That’s neat.

Let’s see…. The image of Willow, Luz, Amity & Gus is altered; Amity has her new hair and is holding Luz’ hand,  Willow’s plant looks bigger and Gus has conjured two illusory copies. There’s a new image of Eda’s harpy form and King using his voice power. The image of Belos and Hunter is the same. There’s an image of Camila and Vee… looking a little sad, probably because they’re waiting for Luz. There’s the above image of Raine ensnared in Terra’s vines, with Darius and Eberwolf in the background. There’s an image of Luz standing before the enormous skull of the Titan. The two consecutive images show King and Eda come to stand besides her

Summary: After escaping an attack against them Luz and Hunter nearly escape with their lives and end up in a strange new world one that's different from both the Boiling Ilse and Earth...

On a joint mission William and Yami find two teenagers who are badly hurt and scared out of their minds

Both alpha and omega try their best to help them and try to find a way to get them home but what if they don't want to go back home?

What if Luz and Hunter rather stay here than return to the hell they call home?

William, Yami, and the rest of their squad aren't sure what these two children want through but one things for certain they won't let any harm come to them

Chapter 1: Escaping the lies of broken promise

"Come on Luz we have to keep going!"

A boy with ash blond hair, crimson red eyes and tan skin was currently dragging a smaller figure trying to encourage her to keep moving.

The girl known as Luz looked at Hunter her once innocent eyes were now filled with dread, defeat and hopelessness.

Hunter felt his heart breaking, Luz bright and bubbly Luz should never look like that never look as if she given up in believing that there's good in this world that this world is still full of love trust and magic.

But who was he kidding? Who was he fooling? After what they've just gone through Luz had every right to feel defeated but that didn't mean he was going to sit back and let her go back to that hell hole.

He'll die before he let's that happen.

"FLAPJACK!" He called for his palismen who immediately went by his owner side and morph into a staff.

Grabbing the staff Hunter hoped on with Luz in front so he can hold onto her.

He tried to ignore the blood Edas blood that covered her clothes and pulled her closer to him.

He began to fly as fast as he could to get away from the danger that followed them.

he could hear voices, voices of people they once called friends chasing after them voices of those who they thought they could trust but found out they couldn't.

Hunter tried not to scream when he heard her voice. The one at fault the one who caused all this pain, hurt, and unnecessary bloodsged pthe one who-

He shook his head now wasn't the time to think about any of that he had to get Luz to safety once that was done he can cry for the deaths of their loved ones but for now they had to get away.

Urging Flapjack to fly faster Hunter saw the portal that Belos was trying to rebuild if he can just get there he can get Luz through the portal and she'll be safe in the human realm.

A long purple arm shot at them, Hunter saw it coming and immediately dogged it the arm missed them but hit the support beams of the portal.

Hunter watched as the portal was slowly falling apart. No surprise there since the fight has brought a lot of damage to it.

He turned and activated a fire glyph and threw it at their attacker he than urged Flapjack to flu faster they were almost there.

"LUZ!"

Luz flinched at the sound of her name...her voice the one who caused this the one who...with a loud growl Luz pulled out her own glyph one she's been working on for the longest time and activated it.

The glyph caused a high explosion that allowed the cave they were in to collapse Hunter seeing that the cave was falling apart flew faster.

They were so close to portal they almost made it,

"BURN IN HELL AMITY!"

Luz shouted as she and Hunter flew into the portal.

The girl known as Amity was pulled back and watched as a force field surrounded her and her mentor.

She watched in horror as the portal was destroyed beyond repair meaning her and Hunter were now lost to them.

"It's going to be alright Amity, we'll find them and bring them back,"

Amity looked up into jaded eyes eyes full of determination and sadness.

"Will it Lilith?" Amity asked a part of her hoped so another...was not so sure...

"Captain Yami, Captain Vangence!"

Yami and William turned to see Asta running up to them the rest of their squads turned to look at the magic less alpha.

"Geeze kid do you have to be so loud?" Yami asked

Asta approached them both captains were now on alert as they caught a wiff of distress and fear on the alpha.

"Asta what's-"

"I need you to come with me and, and Momosa I need you as well!"

The beta looked at him and her captain before any more questions could be asked Asta turned and ran towards the direction he was coming from.

Yami, William, and the rest of their squads followed him to were he was headed to.

The magic knights stopped and saw what had the alpha in a panic.

Shocked, horror, and fear plagued their eyes as they stared down at the two bodies lying on the ground covered in blood and wounds one looked like their arm was snapped in two and the other obviously had a broken leg.

William was the first to snapped out of it his omega instincts kicked into high gear.

"We need to get them to Owen he can heal them,"

"Right but your plant girl here can at least stop some of.these wounds from bleeding out," Yami added.

"Right Mimosa please use your healing magic to heal what you can,"

"Yes sir," Mimosa began to heal what she could. She turned her head and saw one of the kids struggling to wake up and said one word,

"Luz..."

Phylogeny: Chapter 6

It's been a week and Luz was at the end of her ropes. No matter what she tried it was failure after failure. She has tried every glyph combo that she could think of despite knowing that they do not work in the human realm. She had gone through various steps to build a portal and yet nothing happened. Without any Titan's blood, it was impossible. 

Yet Luz couldn't give up. This was all her fault. She helped Belos meet the Collector. She gave him the light glyph. Every awful thing that happened and is happening on the Boiling Isles is her fault and her friends were stuck here. She had to get them home. She had to fix all of this. 

"Hey, Luz, do you want to get some ice scream with me?" Amity asked. Luz jumped and turned around. She gave her girlfriend a fake smile.

"I'd love to but I think I'm close to a breakthrough." Luz lied. It was clear that Amity was not buying it.

"Luz, all you've been doing is trying to find a way back." Amity started.

"Don't you want a way back?" Luz snapped. Amity flinched back.

"I'm not saying that. We all want to go home and we all appreciate your effort but you no longer hang out with us. You are just up here working alone. We could help." Amity said.

"This is all my fault. I have to do this alone." Luz protested. 

"Luz..." Amity started. Luz though shook her head.

"I have to do this. You don't understand no one does." Luz said. She turned back around to face her desk. Amity sighed.

"Ok, guess it'll just be me, Willow, Gus, and Hunter getting ice scream," Amity muttered.

"Cream." Luz corrected. 

"What?" Amity asked.

"In the human realm, it's called ice cream," Luz explained. 

"Oh, I'll remember that," Amity said. With that, she walked out of the room leaving Luz to work on finding a way to create a new portal.

As Amity walked down the stairs she saw grim expressions on both Willow's and Gus' faces. 

"No luck on Luz," Willow said. It wasn't so much a question as a fact.

"No, she's still claiming that she has to do this alone," Amity explained. This earned a sigh from Willow. "Any luck with Hunter?"

"No, he didn't even talk to us. He just shook his head no." Gus huffed. The three of them looked at each other hopelessly. 

"How do we fix this?" Willow asked.

"I don't know Luz has never been like this before," Amity said.

"I don't know Hunter well enough to figure out how to help him," Gus said.

"What about the breathing thing?" Amity asked.

"That's for panicking and he isn't really doing that," Willow explained.

"He doesn't seem to be feeling much of anything as far as I can tell." Gus further added. 

"Maybe, Camila could help us," Willow suggested. 

"I've talked to Camila she said to give Luz time," Amity said.

"And Hunter doesn't exactly trust parental figures or adults." Gus pointed out.

"So what do we do?" Amity asked.

"I wish my dads were here. They would know exactly what to do." Willow said.

"Or Eda," Amity said.

"Or King," Gus added on.

It has been a week since the disaster that was the Day of Unity happened. The remaining CATTs were hiding out at one of their safe houses. Symbols to hide them from the Collector were all around it to ensure no matter what they won't be seen. Some people who weren't a part of the group have even started to join them. 

Flapjack has been a constant companion to King, though the small Titan didn't understand why out of everyone the bird was following him. It was nice though to have a companion even if King couldn't understand what the bird was saying. 

King was going to miss always having Flapjack around when Hunter returned. He was aware that if he asked Eda he could carve his own palisman. He just wasn't sure. After all, he was aware that he was going to grow a lot more. Would the palisman grow with him or would it be stuck the same size as they were when they were first carved? If that was the case and his palisman was the size of most palisman he would be unable to see his palisman. It was all so confusing.

"I miss Luz," King said to the bird. Flapjack let out a chirp that sounded like sympathy or shared pain. "I feel like everyone but me has forgotten her." The bird jumped up and down. King chuckled. "And you of course." Flapjack made a gesture toward where Eda and Raine were talking. They then tugged on a piece of King's fur. "I'll tell her." 

King moved to stand up. He then walked over with Flapjack perching on one of his horns. 

"Eda, when are we going to build a portal?" King asked.

"A portal?" Raine asked.

"Yeah to bring back Luz," King said

"We'll worry about the portal when the Collector is defeated," Eda said.

"Luz could help us." King protested. 

"She could but she and her friends are safe in the human realm," Eda said.

"What if her mom won't let her come back if we don't hurry?" King asked desperately. 

"And her walking into an apocalypse is going to convince her mom?" Eda asked. She then kneeled down in front of the little Titan. "I want her back as much as you do, but we have to play our cards carefully." King turned around and began to storm away from the cursed witch. "KING!"

"Give him space," King heard Raine tell Eda. "He needs to calm down."

No, he needs his big sister back. He needs to make sure that she'll stay with him.

So much for updating every week! Work has been crazy, but I'm finally on vacation and going to relax!

But, here's a fanfic that takes place between "King's Tide" and the Season 3 premiere!

Late Night Confessions

Luz is surprise on how well everyone is adjusting to the human realm. Their first few nights here were rough.

Hunter and Willow have been taking care of Gus. He has hardly left their sides. Amity kept looking down at the device her dad gave her. They all cried for the loved ones that they left in the Boiling Isles. Amity mentioned to the group that she wasn't sure that her dad made it out alive. She knew the twins were safe, but she couldn't stop thinking about her dad. That was one of the times Hunter left Gus alone. He went over to Amity to reassure her that her dad was alive. Luz smiled at the two witches getting along, considering almost a few weeks ago they almost maimed each other.

With each passing day, the gang is starting to do better. There is less crying, and more reassurance on everyone's part. They agree to take a break from trying to get back to the Boiling Isles, and it was all because of Camila.

She told them (from the stories that they all have told over the past few days) that their loved ones are safe and will be okay to fight for themselves for a little bit. She also told them that their loved ones would be upset if the group came back and collapsed out of pure exhaustion. They all laughed and agreed to taking a break.

Today was a fun and exhausting day. They went to the zoo, and Gus was the only witch brave enough to feed the giraffe. Everyone else stayed back in fear. Amity gripped Luz's hand so tight that Luz swore that she lost feeling in her hand. They all went out to dinner and came home tired.

Gus, Willow, and Hunter are asleep in the living room on an air mattress. Vee is also with them, sleeping on the couch. Luz and Amity are asleep upstairs in Luz's room. Luz is still awake on her bed. Amity is clinging next to her, soundly sleep. Luz looks at her and smiles. She knows that the choice to come here wasn't her own choice, but she is glad that she is here now. She's glad that her friends are safe, and she glad that her girlfriend is okay. Luz is trying to wind down to sleep, but is interrupted by Amity shifting and whimpering in her sleep. Luz looks at her with worry, but doesn't want to disturb her girlfriend.

Amity's face is scrunch up with fear and her breathes are rapid. She whimpers even more and starts to talk in her sleep. Luz keeps her eyes on her, and she faintly hears Amity whispers her name.

Luz starts to shake her awake. She whispers her name and keeps doing that until her girlfriend wakes up.

_______________________________________________ "Luz, please!" Amity desperately asked. She pulled her girlfriend's arm as to tell her to come with her. They run towards the portal. Amity doesn't notice that Luz stopped before reaching the steps.

She turned around after she sees vines holding up the portal. She remembered Luz saying something about finding them and saving Eda. She ran towards Luz. She is about to grab her when Luz fired a new glyph she learned. It was a blasting spell. The gang is knocked through the portal into the human realm. Amity watched in horror as the portal collapsed from the other side.

"LUZ NOOO!"

She ran towards the door. She reached for it and opened it a few times, but to no avail. Luz is gone, and they're trapped in the human realm.

"No no no no no," Amity kept saying as she opened the door. She left it opened as she collapsed to her knees.

"No, Luz... Luz... Luz." She cried. "I love you," she whispered to the empty room. Hot tears were streaming down her face and she heard her name being called in the distance.

Amity's eyes shoot open. Her eyes are wide and are darting in every direction.

"Sweet potato, hey hey hey," Luz grabs Amity by the shoulder and turns her around to face her.

Amity looks to Luz with a shock expression. She slowly remembers where she is at. She looks into Luz's eyes, who is staring back at her with worry in her eyes. Amity gathers her thoughts, grips Luz a little tighter, and cries into her shoulder.

Luz rubs her back and let's her cry it out. She hears Amity's cries start to soften.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

Amity pulls away from Luz, but still hold her hand.

"I had a nightmare..."

"About?"

"About you."

Luz frowns. She knows that Amity has had nightmares about her family, but never about her. She tries to lighten the mood with humor.

"What stupid thing did I do?"

Amity looks at Luz with angry tears in her eyes. Luz realizes that she shouldn't have said that and regrets talking.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to..."

"You stayed in the Boiling Isles. Everything played out like it did, but when I went to go grab you," Amity stops and jabs her finger into Luz's chest, "you leaned a new glyph to push us through the portal."

Luz clams up and decides not to say what first came to her mind (she wanted to say that she leaned a new glyph).

"I have never been so mad at you in my life!" Amity cries towards her girlfriend. "I mean, why would you do that in the first place?!"

Luz rubs the back of her head. "Well, I can't speak on dream Luz, but real Luz wanted to save her family and she thought that, at the time, it was a good idea."

"Well it wasn't!" Amity screams, but then lowers her voice, forgetting that there are other people in the house trying to sleep. "You can't imagine the feelings I went through when I saw you stand back there." She turns away from Luz. She wraps herself up into a hug, while Luz looks on from behind.

"I already lost Emira and Edric. And then my dad was fighting the Abomatons and he told me to go on and save you. When I saw you wrapped up in those vines, I was shocked. My brain didn't know what to do, but for some reason, my body did."

She's crying hard, and Luz is still sitting there with a guilty look on her face.

"My body ran after you Luz. I just lost my whole family that day, and I just..." Amity's body is overtaken with sobs, "I couldn't lose you too. If I lost you, I...I...wouldn't know what to do"

Luz stays silent for a few seconds, but she moves closer to her girlfriend. She wraps her up from behind and pulls her closer to her body. She rests her head on Amity's shoulder and starts talking.

"I'm so, so sorry Amity. I had no idea how you felt. But you know me, I want to save everyone."

"Then let us help," Amity speaks. "I know you want to do everything on your own, but you can't. And I do admire you for that, but other times, I just want to slap you. You risk your life for others and it's a good trait, but it can get you in trouble. We've all grown with you, so please, just take some time to reflect on what we can do to help you."

Luz chuckles. "You're right. I know you all have grown because of me, and maybe now it's my turn to grow with you guys helping me." She plants a kiss on Amity's temple. "And you can slap me anything that I'm being stupid."

Amity turns to face Luz and smiles.

*Slap*

"Ow! I didn't think a kiss counted as stupid." Luz whines while rubbing her cheek.

"A retroactive slap," Amity says deadpan, "because what you did was really, really stupid with the portal."

"Looking back, yeah, it was kind of stupid."

They share a laugh. Amity pulls Luz in for a kiss on the lips, which last a little longer than their first.

They pull away, both beaming with love. Luz flops back onto her pillow and motions Amity to come cuddle with her. Luz wraps her arm around Amity and Amity places her arm around Luz's stomach. Amity smiles against Luz. She thinks about the dream and realizes what she said at the end of the dream. She is about to talk to Luz, but sees that she is already asleep. Amity yawns and thinks that it's better to wait.

"I don't want a repeat of the crikey incident," Amity thinks while blushing. "Even though it was sweet, but I want that to be perfect."

She closes her eyes and silently tells Luz that she loves her, and falls into a peaceful slumber.

which brings up the question of what the collector actually wants. bc we know they wiped out the titans, we know they trapped the owl beast, we know they have the cult, but like what actually do they want. was it like a hunting for sport type of deal or?

i'm guessing next season we're going to have two groups of rebels. in the human realm we'll have luz, amity, willow, gus and hunter, maybe camila and vee by extension, and in the demon realm eda, darius, raine and eberwolf (if they're still alive), lilith, hooty, probably alador and bump, at a stretch kikimora, terra and gus' dad. i wonder how they're going to reunite, because i don't know how they'll progress without at least working towards that goal. also don't know what the collector is going to do to king bc they weren't actively hostile to him, even when he knew king was the titan's son, so like what is the collector's deal with exterminating the titans actually

not much to say about amity this episode uhhh i guess she didn't want to leave luz behind to face the collector alone but like this is nothing new for amity she just needs to be w/ her girlfriend at all times. also i love how at the end she's standing so politely bc this is like meeting her girlfriend's mom for the first time she needs to be on her best behaviour lol

This is one of the highest moments for hunter so far in my opinion. He may have know that below was evil but like he said in 'labyrinth runners' sometimes you just wanna keep lying to yourself for the sake of everything going back to how it was, even if that wasn't always better. So I'm very proud of hunter in that aspect.

I have said it once and I'll say it again, Camila is SO much better in canon than in fanon and that's a rare occasion.

I loved how she just didn't hesitate. Mama is a vet, found mother of six, and a good swimmer? My gosh the creator know how to make every character so likeable in this show!!!

What did she think he liked like?🤔

She's like, " I knew you had to have something bad from all your scars and stuff but seeing it in person is. WHOLE other thing!!!" I also like how amity Luz and Gus have the same face like " oh no what's he planning now" I don't know if it's just the screenshot but vee looks mad as well Wich rightfully so.

I'ma be honest I did not notice the brown eyes until someone pointed it out.

Oh poor hunter..😿 he has so many new scars now, Wich is gonna take some getting used to but.....why flapjack......I mean I know why but like did he not already have enough trauma Dana? Now on the topic of where Luz was gonna stay I changed back and forth a bit. At first I always saw and thought of Luz and amity living in the human realm together with access to a portal door of of course. Then I heard more theories and reasoning and started to HEAVILY lean on the fact that Luz was gonna stay in the demon realm, I mean look at the evidence from 'hunting palisman' to found family. The only thing that seemed out of place was her leaving Camila. I had just originally thought that that was vees purpose as a character actually. That they would build on her and Camila's bond more and it would go from there. With all the popular headcanons of Camila character the aspect of Camila going to the demon realm just never felt right to me. But this episode makes my mind take a total 180 spin on that aspect and I love it!!! (Also luz's face looks really cute in this screenshot )

Show this scene to someone who hasn't seen the show, this perfectly sums up both of their characters as of now.

It's great to hear that Gus wants to come back to the human realm again and that he isn't done with it. He still loves human stuff just as he started and I love that for him. Willows lines in this episode are just.........my gosh I love what shes become😂💞. I want to see her get revenge!!! I want the whole main cast to get their own special hit at belos👊. (Except Lilith since she already got her turn)

Not as much Camila and vee content as a was expecting there to be but I still love um 🥺💕

Vee and Camila parallel Eda and Luz to me in a way. The first one shows the more boss - apprentice sorta dynamic if you know what I mean Camila strictly telling vee what to do, like how Luz used to work for eda back in early season 1. And then the second being the found family aspect and how much they really have grown to care about eachother.

The owl house always makes me laugh with things like this. 😂

......where's the egg?...….... Ok yea yea the Camilia and Luz scene was cute as well as the lumity scene but.....THE EGG!!!!! Part of me wants to believe one of them has it hidden somewhere with them. Or vee will have to come back and give it to them but, I feel like the next specials are gonna be really, REALLY angsty and im scared. 😥

Clouds on the Horizon Thoughts

Just some commentary on the new episode after my second watch

Like we been knew that a portal is part of the plan but I don’t think that much power is needed for the portal, but we know that Belos wants to eliminate all witches and the end of this season’s sentence is fear the lock so maybe he’s trying to permanently isolate the human realms from others?

I also like to think that Belos might try to connect to Luz on a human level and maybe even ask her about the human realm. I think he will not like world he returns to. Maybe that realization is the the thing that causes his breakdown. The Collector saying that Belos has trouble maintaining his human form leads me to believe that he will lose it, either due to this emotional revelation or during a fight with Luz.

It is also interesting that the draining spell is not needed to free the Collector but is rather part of a deal with them. Since Phillip has a history of betrayal/using others it wouldn’t surprise me if he was lying. I’d be down with Belos tricking the Collector and remaining the main villain but I also like that to think that we have a case of you may have outsmarted me but I outsmarted your outsmarting. Maybe the Collector’s helpless child act is just that and they are ready to turn the tables on Belos.

Didn’t realize how right on Edric was when Amity wanted to talk to their mom and he said that even if she did know, she wouldn’t care. I also love the development between Odalia and Alador by the way, and Alador finally stepping up as a father.

You know if Kiki just said that Luz’s friends were at the Day of Unity and not the emperor has eyes everywhere part I wouldn’t think much of it. I mean she knows that Luz is part of a group of rebels that are against the emperor and it makes sense that they would be trying to stop his plan, like she doesn’t need to know what that plan is to think that is a likely scenario. However, the part of the eyes everywhere seems more like foreshadowing than a bluff.

If so, who is the traitor? I have seen that the most common theory is Steve because his design seems off. I thought that if that was so wouldn’t they be able to tell, but none of them know Steve all that well and Gus and the others were hiding out at Hexide so he wouldn’t be there to point out any illusions. My other thoughts would be Eberwolf, because we still don’t know why they are part of the rebellion. Another option is Raine, because they seem to be acting odd the whole episode and Eda says she has “The Raine Whispers to protect [her]” which seems to indicate that it’s not the real Raine, but the focus could also be becauseRaine promised to protect Eda and they’re not sure that they can.

Others have pointed out that we don’t actually see Eda get branded and wonder if Raine will try to switch with Eda to protect her. Though they know that her curse is part of the plan so I guess maybe they are fine with her being there as long as she is not actually connected to the spell? I noticed that when Eda uses her concealment stone that Eda’s fang is still there so watch for that if they try to pull a swicheroo. Maybe Raine would take Lilith up on her offer to take Eda’s place, so that’s another possibility to watch out for.

Also I can’t wait to see Luz’s palisman hatch and I hope that it happens during the climax of a fight between her and Belos. Speaking of a fight with Belos I would also love to see Gus bring out his memories with illusions. If anyone deserves that kind of psychological torture it’s Belos.

Another thing I’ve noticed is all the eye imagery. People’s eyes light up when using powerful magic, there is an eye carved into the portal door, Kikimora says that the emperor has eyes everywhere, in the vision of the draining spell the light radiates out of the eye of the titan, A grimwalker’s eyes are a defining feature, when we see Alador’s work room he has a diagram of a human eye in there. What does it all mean???

The ships were so fed in this episode. I was thinking that there would be a Lumity reunion but a Lumity kiss? We were so blessed. There are also some Huntlow moments, particularly protecting each other. Raeda banter and trying to protect each other is adorable as always.

I don’t like to see King pushed to the side as a way to protect him. He can communicate with The Collector and the last episode is called King’s Tide, so I have no doubt that he’ll play a big part. We know how well keeping people on the sidelines in order to protect them works in this show (it doesn’t). Maybe he will be able to help The Collector escape and the third season is about dealing with the aftermath of that? I don’t know. I feel like no matter what happens I will be crying.

Do y’all think Belos purposely gave hunter that notch on his ear and scar just so he would look a bit less like his brother? Cause he said he looked a lot like him so…maybe? Probably nothing but I’m tunneling further down this rabbit hole and cannot stop myself.

So here’s some other things my brain is brining up

The fact that Darius was sad when Hunter was proclaimed golden guard. Why? Was it because it was so soon after his mentors death, or because he knows what happening and what hunter is bc if his previous mentor was the old golden guard then maybe he told Darius everything before he died.

Meaning Darius knows all about what hunter is and what his fate is going to be.

Raine somehow found the time to get Eda flowers and put the potion in the flowers and have them do that effect thingy and make a note for her.

Don’t know how they did it, but they did. They also was able to run away from the door without being spotted, well it might have been them, it was to hard to see the figure

We get to see a lot of Phillip and his brothers history from background images in this episode. Granted a lot of them are without context or the right order but using what we know about things we can kind of piece tigger a timeline. That time line being

Phillip and his brother were close

Phillip and his brother founded the town Luz lives in

They go to the Boiling Illes

Phillip is weary and discussed but has an interest in the magic

Phillips brother loves this new world and possibly falls in love with a witch

This is where things get muddled

There is a falling out with the brothers

A mishap with magic occurs and Phillip gets cursed

What we know for sure is that Phillip views his brother action as betraying him and starts making Grim walkers while working on the draining spell

The last portion we know happens after luz, or at least the mass propaganda part, because we see Phillip working with what we now know to be a grimwalker

Because that’s what all of the previous Golden Guards were, clones of his dead brother

We still don’t know why he made them exactly, maybe he wanted a version of his brother with him-one that was loyal and wouldn’t betray him like the original did-or maybe it was because a small part of him still cares for his brother and wants him around.

Especially for the day of unity

Also apparently those palismen have souls

And belos are them twice now

Which is horrifying because he seemed very excited/glad to have done it

Also I for real thought that Hunter was going to be stuck in Phillips mind and just be a voice in the back of his head forever

Would have been a horrible ending for him but luckily he used wild magic

The very thing he had been persistent on not using

But was super cool with researching and Ohmygosh this boy alsmot died

Luz almost died

They both almost died in someone else’s head and Eda would have had to live with the fact that she wasn’t able to save her in time and that if they ever did make a portal to the human realm she would have to tell Luz mother that she died and Luz mom would get mad at her or something because Luz mom-Just remembered her name is Carmella-Carmella made her promise to come home and stay out

Holly crap Amity almost lost her girlfriend

How is everyone else going to react to this

And who’s going to check on hunter

Might be Willow and the rest of the Emerald entrails. Might be Darius, hell it might even be the fu kind Bat Queen. Haven’t seen her in this part of the season yet, but someone needs to do it because while I love flapjack-which is his official name-they said it in the show now-he is not going to be enough to help hunter through this

He didn’t even react when he tried to talk to him

Also Darius almost had a dad moment. Really wish I know what those three were saying during those silent moments.

I imagine they were kind of mad at Darius for dropping the bottle

Cause that’s what caused this in the first place

"Willow's New Garden" (Another Owl House Swap AU)

This is a pitch for a story I may not get around to writing, considering all the stories I'm working on and my other responsibilities in life. Anyway, I came up with this idea after seeing a lot of Owl House role-swap AU arts and fanfics. I've seen ones with Human Amity taking Luz's place to be mentored by Lilith taking Eda's. There are ones with Human Hunter being mentored by Raine. Heck, there's even one with Human Gus being mentored by Lilith. But I have yet to find one with a Human Willow.

(Here is my pitch for the first episode/chapter):

Willow Park is a meek fourteen-year-old girl who has been a victim of bullying for years but has never told her dads, Harvey and Gilbert, or a teacher. One night, she overhears her dads discussing an upcoming move to a town called Gravesfield in Connecticut. Her parents became aware of the bullying when they saw the school's football team openly harassing her and telling the principal, but the school refused to do anything. So, they pulled her out, adding to Willow's self-blame, especially when she learns that her fathers had quit their jobs to support her education.

On the day of the move, Willow is tending to her beloved garden for the last time when a hawk takes a bunch of rare flowers, forcing her to run after it. Willow follows it to an abandoned cabin in the woods, only to find herself in the center of a new forest that should not be there. Following the hawk eventually leads her to a sixteen-year-old blonde boy and an older woman who could be his grandmother. The woman is about to grind up the flowers, but Willow stops her and tries to flee with them, but the teenage boy captures her as the woman closes the portal.

She confronts Willow, revealing herself to be a witch, making her believe they are planning to kill her, begging for her life as she explains that the hawk stole the flowers. The woman introduces herself as Gwendolyn Clawthorne, her palisman, Hawksley, and her helper, Hunter Whispers, assuring they have no malicious intent. Willow asks Gwen about their whereabouts, why she stole the flowers from her garden, and how she can return home, learning about the Boiling Isles, Demon Realm, and magic.

Willow is amazed by the prospect of visiting a place that is the basis of human mythology, and Gwen explains she had Hawksley steal the flowers to make a potion. Her daughter, Edalyn, suffers from a curse, tearing apart her family, and she has spent years looking for a cure. Hunter is helping her because Eda and his parent, Raine, were close friends in their youth. Willow sympathizes with Gwen and Hunter and decides to use her plant knowledge to help them develop a cure and learn about new species of flora, which they accept.

Willow learns more about them and the Boiling Isles and the fact that Hunter was born without magic in a society where your inherent power decides your worth. She also expresses her dissatisfaction with the move, still blaming herself for it and feeling like a burden to her parents. However, Gwen reassures her that her dads love her and do all this for her best interests.

Arriving in Bonesborough, the capital of the Isles, for a quick bite, they split up with Willow going with Gwen to investigate a stand with a crowd, meeting a demon merchant. He claims to have a "miracle cure" for any ailment, and Gwen falls for it as she tries to haggle a price, but the merchant will not take anything… except Willow. He notes the rarity of humans on the Isles and maliciously plays on Gwen's yearning for a cure. Unfortunately, she caves into the merchant's offer, watching his grunts kidnap Willow.

Willow looks at Gwen with betrayal as the woman gets what she wants; when she meets up with Hunter, asking where Willow is; Gwen lies about sending her back home. Hunter does not believe her and demands to know what she did, to which Gwen admits her crime while trying to justify her actions. However, Hunter refuses to listen to her excuses and nearly lets something slip before biting his tongue. He breaks off their partnership before running off to rescue Willow on his own, even if he does not have magic. Gwen regrets her choice; she knows she must make things right.

A tied-up and wallowing Willow sits in a cart with the merchant's goons; the merchant intends to steal her youth to fulfill his insatiable hunger and mocks Gwen's gullibility. The cart comes to a halt due to a roadblock, requiring the henchmen to move it, where Hunter gets aboard the coach and tries to free Willow with the hired muscle preoccupied. He apologizes, not realizing Gwen would sell her and cuts her bindings with a knife. However, the henchmen kidnap Hunter before he can finish, and the merchant intends to eat him, too, when Fire Bees arrive. They attack the crooks, and Gwen reveals herself and her abilities, freeing Willow and Hunter, and fights with them to defeat the kidnappers. She tells the pitiful merchant that she overheard him claim the cure was a hoax and threatens to send every beast on the Isles after the merchant if he continues to deceive people.

After safely fleeing with Hunter and Willow, Gwen apologizes to the girl, saying nothing could excuse what she did, and pleads for forgiveness. While Willow may not forgive Gwen completely, she understands her plight, as does Hunter, still wary of her, and Gwen vows to work hard to regain his trust. With Willow's encouragement, he agrees to bury the hatchet and work together again, seeing she does not want to lose his friendship. Looking up at the sky, Willow realizes how late it is and that her dads are worried sick about her. Gwen offers to escort Willow home, acknowledging she will miss the Boiling Isles as she enters the portal. Hunter joins them to make sure she gets home safely but arrives at Willow's house to find it deserted.

With a "For Sale" sign up, Willow believes her fathers abandoned her and breaks down in tears. Gwen and Hunter try to console her, and the elderly witch offers her a home and training as an apprentice. Willow accepts, and the three of them travel back through the portal to the Clawthorne residence, a sprawling family estate, with Gwen saying that her husband, Dell, is out. She gives Willow Edalyn's old room as Hunter says he is going home, wishing them both a good night and promising to return the next day. Willow wonders if her dads are happy now that she is no longer in their lives, no longer a burden.

Meanwhile, in the back seat of the Park's family car is Willow; her dads unaware that her basilisk counterpart, Number VI, Vi, has replaced her.

(The characters and other notes):

With Willow taking Luz's role as the main protagonist, Hunter will fill Amity's role as the love interest, which means Amity will take Hunter's role as Belos's right hand.

Hunter here is the adopted son of Raine and Eda, who took Whispers as her surname, making him King's older brother. That revelation will be revealed when Gwen sees Eda again, learning that her youngest daughter has been married to Raine for almost a decade and raised two grandsons. One she already befriended and never realized. This will also be when Willow encounters the Owl Beast for the first time because this will undoubtedly cause Eda stress.

Adding to this, I thought that both Hunter and Skara would take Amity's role as love interests. Skara will be the "bully" side of Amity that Willow redeems, and Hunter will be the "closed-off" side of Amity that Willow helps open up. Also, it'll be an OT3 with Willow dating Hunter and Skara simultaneously, which the two of them are okay with. Hey, I ship Huntlow and Skarlow, and it'll be a pain in the butt to choose one over the other.

Luz in the AU is like her canon counterpart, except a witch here. She is best friends with Gus and a member of the Human Appreciation Society. Camila raised her on her own with a deceased father. She's in the Detention Track, along with Viney, Jerbo, Barcus, and Hunter. And like Hunter, she was born without magic, making her an easy target for Boscha's bullying.

Future episodes/chapters will play out as they did in canon, with changes here and there; elements from the first two seasons will be combined. For example, the second episode/chapter mixes "Witches Before Wizards" and "Separate Tides." Gwen, like Eda, will also send Willow off into town to do the occasional "odd job." You can't search for a cure if you're broke and hungry. But she always has either Hawksley or Hunter accompanying her—and Dell, when he's available—to avoid another kidnapping. I also believe Gwen would get Willow a training wand for self-defense, like what Amity used in "Adventures in the Elements," but with other branches of magic though she prefers plant magic. While Dell thinks wands are cheap substitutes for staves, he does agree with the self-defense part. I thought it'd be interesting if the "powerless" characters developed their unique way of casting magic: Willow with her wand, Luz with her glyphs, and Hunter with Flapjack (who he'll get later). Of course, Willow will get Clover (around the same time as Hunter gets Flapjack), but she'll keep the wand as a backup.

I've thought about having Gwen and Dell be the grandparents Willow never had because she never got to know her actual grandparents. Either because they died or just chose not to be involved in the Park family's lives. And yes, Willow will accidentally call Gwen "Grandma," much to the former's embarrassment but to the latter's joy.

As far as antagonists go, we have Emperor Belos, Amity Blight | The Amethyst Armorer, Edric and Emira Blight | The Emerald Enforcers, Odalia and Alador Blight, Lilith Clawthorne, Kikimora, Boscha, and Terra Snapdragon, to name a few. Also, Terra will be Gwen's nemesis here the same way Lilith was Eda's in Season 1.

Willow's and Amity's relationship in the AU will be similar to how Luz saw Hunter as the Golden Guard. Willow's view of her, along with Ed and Em, is that she became the "Amethyst Armorer" due to social status and is nothing more than what she appears. Just a glorified bully. But she'll eventually see there's more to her than meets the eye. While Amity will be a dead-serious threat to Willow and her friends, Ed and Em will pretty much be Team Rocket.
