more meth snake au (read w caution this could hurt maybe)

we left off with ace having ideas!! basically he was like "if snake likes booze that much what if i find somefin stronga" (his speech is fun to write sorry). ace is a guy who knows a guy whos cousins dogs friends hair salonists grocer sells drugs and he buys(eh..) a bit of meth

i think ace would pull snake aside and basically lie through his teeth like "just one time wont kill yah buddy" "sures i done this before. lookit me! i turned out fine" "juust one time" and snake cant rrly say no so yeah down the hatch it goes (idk what kinda meth it would be yet, its up to interpretation) and well one time turns into two snd two to three three to four four to BEGGING for more meth

basically ace is using meth to control snake.. and it works very well lol. no one else in the gang knows for awhile (he def planned on doing the same to them) even when snake starts getting aggressive (to the gang and to victims), or when he stars scratching like crazy, even when he kinda just stops talking to them (excluding ace obvs) -GRUBBER is the first to realize!! AFTER snake starts convulsing on the floor bc ace gave him a bit to much "pbbbht" "pff whaddya mean? snakes fine he dont need no hospital" newsflash yes he did and after a lot of convincing they took him and the doctors called them heros bc snake almost died! shock all around everyone's a lil emotionally scarred

anyway snakes fine hes out thehospital and hes okay! the end :)

jk, hes back to begging ace for more meth. but surely ace learned by now? nope, he gives snake more and its back to the hospital. NOW he knows better? again no he plans to give snake more meth when he gets out but now the gang knows and theyre all scared hes gonna die so ace decides he'll just stop (this is bad, very bad. ace is.. yk the rest)

snakes back again!! he wants more meth and ace is like "no" so snake freaks and practically tears the shack apart looking for the meth (that ace hid), when he doesnt find it he almost nearly beats ace up but the guys hold him back and THAT!!! THAT VERY MOMENT is where ace finally realizes what hes done was really shitty. so now what? how does he fix it? lock snake in a room bc they cant afford rehab. im so dead ass and im sorry

they just leave him in a room that locks from the outside only and feed him every so often (not too often bc he doesnt want food just meth) and this lasts for a month at most. like they have a whole system and everything so he doesnt escape, ONE PERSON stays near his room always like they can still do their things but they cant leave the shack when its their turn

back to "this lasts for a month at most" yeah it failed eventually because for a while snake is just so out of it he just sort of sat there and asked for stuff (mostly meth) for a bit, but as his clarity comes back more and more he starts scheming (uh oh thats how we got here) so he waits till its arturo's turn to watch him then he pull an ace

basically he lies to arturo and tricks letting him out and giving him meth "imss gonna burnss it all, destroy it ssso we can putss thiss behind uss pal" (oh yeah arturo knows where ace hides it bc he watched ace do it once, so yeah whomp whomp)

anyway snake obvs inst gonna burn it all but arturo is convinced and helps him and snake leaves

It then cuts to the perspective of our main protagonist. He appears to be talking about an infamous school named Hope's Peak Academy.

Hopes Peak Academy is a government funded school meant for the most talented and special of kids. It is extremely hard to get in unless you are very good at something or the absolute best at something. The talented students who go there are called "Ultimates" since.. eh I guess people just think they're really fucking cool idk.

But standing before the gates of the school now is our protag, and his name is Makoto Naegi.

Makoto is a very insecure and awkward kind of guy, who is usually very friendly. He sees himself as average, and not special since he says he'd be the type of person to just list the name of a random popular song if asked what his favorite song was. As for why he's there, well—

There's a lottery/event every year the school holds where they invite a random student to join the school, and title them the "Ultimate Lucky Student" if they join, because they are so much of the shit that anyone would apparently be lucky to get in without talent. And Makoto happened to win that lottery, so he's here now.

A/N ;; Gonna hope you meant DSMP!Philza, if not I apologize as that’s my default :]! And I totally agree! He definitely deserves to relax too!

Regresses to around 3-7, normally 4-5!

Involuntarily and voluntarily regresses, though it’s usually involuntary

His long term caregiver is Techno (completely platonic). His his long term babysitter is Ghostbur!

Philza does get scared to regress sometimes and pushes it away but Techno is always there to tell him it’s okay and it’s a perfectly valid coping mechanism.

He’s a very quiet little and tends to signal what he wants by hand.

His favorite little thing to do is play outside and you can take that out of my cold dead hands. But actually, I really think he’d be an outside little. He just likes playing in the grass! (Though he likes the inside as well)

Like campfires fascinate him, and of course Techno has a fireplace in his wooden cottage. (Usually they have to go to a different part of the SMP in order to not be in the snow)

He collects lil things. Like he has an entire collection of colorful buttons! (Mostly given to him by Ghostbur). He keeps them all in separate little boxes under his bed

He always enjoys listening to soft melodies from a jukebox. It helps him fall asleep or just relax when he’s small.

Loves petting Steve! (If you are unaware of who Steve is, that’s Techno’s pet polar bear). Steve is just so soft, how can he resist?

He also tends to be shy around others but once he warms up to them, he’s so bubbly. He also giggles a whole lot!

Wears several different colored hats when he’s small. He just takes one off like every hour or so and puts a new one on. He just likes em <3!

He has a little journal! (Alt: agere journal) it’s green with white polka dots! He frequently draws in it with some crayons and writes down what he did that day!

SPOILERS ALERT!!!

Finally Nya's season! Our queen, our water goddess, our amazing girl gets what she deserves! 😍😍😍

What I know about the season beforehand is that Nya's powers apparently are getting problematic for some reasons? Which is a pretty common topic in other shows but it's a first in Ninjago, usually the elemental powers don't have focus and I LOVE that we now get to see stuff like that 💕💕💕

I know there should be Wojira involved, trusting The Island to deliver that little foreshadowing at the end of the episode 🤷‍♀️ Also Maya is back... MAYA IS FINALLY BACK AFTER SEVEN SEASONS YES!!! 😭😭😭

I have nothing else to say, I have no idea what this will bring, hopefully something as good as Master of the Mountain! 🖤

GENERAL THOUGHTS

Warning reader, I might be fangirling to an extreme because I love mah girl Nya and I've been wanting Kai and Nya's parents to be back ever since Hands of Time ended. So yeah... screaming alert 😅

At this point I don't doubt that the intro is great, we reached such a level of animation and we got The Fold 😍😍 Love the marine vibe and how it's similar to The Island, because it's a great intro 👌

NOW I like the writing! Maybe they rushed the dialogue's quality for The Island to get here? It's just fun and in character, maybe it's just me but I'm enjoying it a lot for now

How many episodes are in this? Wiki says ten, then I checked again and it's sixteen like with Master of Mountain... eh, it looks good so far so it's fine whatever happens 🤷‍♀️

i know i wanted murder but I didnt even get real angst about it T^T what a mean cliffhanger. but interestingggg- seems they're not the only supernatural people around.

They better give me juicy angst if they’ll backpaddle on it.

idk why episode 5.5 exists as 5.5 and not as a regular episode, it also doesn’t really make sense between 5 and 6 / I don’t think it chronologically belongs there. I think it makes more sense before ep3, that is to say before the basketball-arc. Because it’s weird to have them accept a case when they originally wanted a break / the atmosphere is currently EH-

the time travel

I’m very confused about the time travel aspect of it... or well not really that, but moreso how they deal with the butterfly effect.

I think they use a sort of predestination paradox, i.e. their timetravels are already included in the present because they come from the future. This is evident in ShanShan’s case.

But I’m confused about it because doesn’t that technically mean that no matter what they change, it isn’t really going to change anything because it already happened that way bc the past includes their timetravels?

But that’s not the case because they sometimes also show an "original" version of the scene they change which implies it did at some point happen that way.

(SPOILERS) I'm concretely talking about ShanShan gushing about the message she got. Which is something we saw before they jumped. But at that point the message was already received so shouldn't what they see be what CXS does (i.e. sitting up, bruting(TM))?

I could accept the paradox of the present including the future time travel already for plot purposes but then they show stuff as if it didn't happen which then confuses me. Esp since we see the security cam picture Update to include CXS later.

The only way i could see it working with that is that... The timeline only "saves" the actions that CXS does IF they change something (i.e. ShanShan gushes but it doesn’t matter, it only matters if she diverted the attack or not. I wonder how she remembers that scene? She just blacks out, like after she drank too much?) - But even then his plotting was integral to it changing so i don't think it could just be ShanShan doing her thing as before and then once the attack happens it switches to CXS's iteration of the scene. And if there was an iteration where they travelled but didn't receive that message, wouldn't ShanShan be dead in the “first” iteration (I mean it’s not completely unlikely that we’re just in the 2nd iteration of the loop in the storyline)? And they would have never gotten that phonecall. Therefore i am just confusion shshsh, like the paradox in itself i can accept but I get confused about the “original way” things happened, especially because it doesn’t consistently jump into it in the middle of a paradox (the ShanShan apartment dive) vs. being the first loop (security camera in the child’s case, in Emma’s case I think it’s the first time Guang entered it so it’s possible CXS would have been on it even if he did it before he dived back -- though technically he checked it out when he denied the case too, so I do think it updated??).

Unless CXS was always on the security cam footage but the police officer seemed to only notice him after he jumped into it, which... confuses me.

I’M JUST CONFUSED AND I DON’T HAVE ENOUGH BRAINCELLS TO DEAL WITH IT.

It makes sense on some abstract plane of existence, I THINK- But i just. low brain.

final thoughts

I really loved it!! the emotional stuff hits quite heavy; I love how Emma’s case is a sort of throughline through the story, while also being a great pilot, showing off the dark themes pretty quickly.

I hope in s2 we can get more focus on the other characters as well! They’re nice but it does feel like the biggest focus is on CXS, which makes sense. I love how we get only small snippets of how their friendship came to be but I’d still like to see more of that; and of course see how the show deals with multiple supernatural forces (and if that person’s is also something photo-driven or if it’s only present spirit control).

I’m also not sure if they’ll backpaddle on the cliffhanger or if s1 was just the setup for a sort of saving someone timeloop. Which could be quite oof because the show established that death is a major note and all that :) (which does beg the question if red-eyes is a sort of corrective force? after all if it wasn’t for them, Emma would be alive... god,, i can feel the brainfuck already pff-)

Despite my confusion with the time travel it's moreso an exploration of people's lives more than it is a real twist-heavy time travel story anyway (I like how they actually use the mechanic of the time travels, i.e. the clapping, instead of the actual time travel as the finale’s solution!! bc that's much more easy to grasp and therefore feels more established and grounded to me than a purely big brain time travel solution).

Especially because while the existential/logic questions of the timetravel are very confusing, I think the story largely utilizes it in intuitive ways. I just think too much dsuhdjs

also-also I love that the OP can also be understood as “come back from the dive... back in time” as in... “Come back in time”, which... I guess he did not come back in time, huh TvT i’m hurting myself with this interpretation but I love it pff-
